SPECIFIC - In the next 12 weeks, my specific goal is to lose 12 pounds. Hopefully that is a minimum, but I have to make it realistic for me. In the next 12 weeks, my goal is to lose 2 inches on my waist. I have to admit, I'm not sure if that is realistic or not as it has been too long since it has happened to me.

MEASURABLE - I will be recording my measurements and weight on a weekly basis to keep me on track.

ATTAINABLE - I believe these goals are attainable if I tra... Mon, 11 Sep 2017 21:59:36 EST SMART GOALS Summer 2017 My plan is to lose 12 pounds this 8-week session.
I will do it by tracking every BLT and staying in my given calorie range.
I will assess how I am doing after 4 weeks and see if I am on track or need to do something different.
As well as doing 30 minutes of cardio a day, I will add in an ST session three times a week.
Fri, 9 Jun 2017 16:27:13 EST Goals 2017 By the end of a BLC round, I always forget what I made as my initial weight loss goal. So this time I will put it in writing where (hopefully) I will remember to check once in awhile and see if I am on target. So in this 15-week session (BLC33), my goal is to lose 15 lbs. My hope is to lose more than that, but based on my loss last year, I will be pleased with 15.

I know that I need to track every BLT in order for that to happen, 30 minutes of exercise at least 5 days a week, ... I'm on vacation right now and not doing well in the eating department. I am trying to balance out my choices so hopefully that helps and I am keeping up with my walking. I would have to say I have not been doing a stellar job so far, but I have NOT given up on me. I will keep trying until things click in again. Mon, 10 Oct 2016 18:44:58 EST 10/3 Why I started and why I will not give up! I started this challenge (once again) because I have not yet met my goal to lose excess weight and inches around my midsection. I know that carrying excess weight there is a high risk for diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure and probably more. All of those diseases are things that contributed to the death of close family members. I am hoping to not follow in their footsteps. I thank God for every day he gives me another chance to improve myself. So I not ... I will lose the equivalent of 1 pound a week for 15 weeks by reducing my calories 3500 calories each week or 500 calories per day.
2. I will do some form of cardio 30 minutes a day for 5 of 7 days per week.
3. I will do some form of stretching or ST 3 days of each week.
4. I will reduce my waist size by 5 inches.
... Thu, 8 Sep 2016 20:44:54 EST Fitness test May 5, 2014 ugh, I'm not in very good shape. That really isn't a surprise to me. But I guess this is a place to start and see how I progress over the next 12 weeks. Thankfully, my BF was here to push me along and keep going on the test. I'm not a competitive person, so I would have given up sooner than he let me. I did do the step test wrong and counted the number of step ups I made rather than counting my heart rate at the end. My shorthand notes of the challenge were not very good, obviously. Mon, 5 May 2014 22:30:58 EST Fitness test May 5, 2014 ugh, I'm not in very good shape. That really isn't a surprise to me. As a part of that goal, I will lose 7 inches around my waist through weight loss and exercise.

I will employ the following behaviors to achieve my goal for 2014:
1. I will eat vegetables and/or fruit at every meal.
2. I will do cardio a minimum of 20 minutes 6x a week.
3. I will do ST training 3x a week.
4. I will track my intake and exercise and show a deficit at least 4x a week.

I expect to b... Fri, 17 Jan 2014 22:39:35 EST Accomplishments thus far? This is not a good one for me as I have gained back most of the weight I've lost over the past several years. While my losses and gains have been in the 10-15 lb range each time, but they have accumulated and now I can start all over again. This yo-yo dieting is not good for the body and spirit. It is time to get serious and just change my way of eating. Sweets are definitely my weakness. So my goal will be to greatly reduce them from my diet and increase the number of vegetables on a da... Sun, 5 Jan 2014 09:17:25 EST Goals for BLC24 I need to make my weight loss goal for BLC24 doable. I've tried pumping it up in the past to motivate me, but that didn't work. So I am going to keep it doable (12 lbs in 12 weeks) and everything else I lose will be a bonus! It is my plan to do some form of cardio 5 days a week and ST every other day. I will stay in my calorie range 5 of the 7 days, and shoot for the low end of the range most days. I will post on the chat thread every day to keep myself motivated and to motivate others. ... Sun, 5 Jan 2014 09:12:30 EST S.M.A.R.T. goals start of BLC22 S - Specifically, I will be tracking the food I eat every day, exercising a minimum of 20 minutes a day at least 5 days of each week for 12 weeks.

M - By tracking both food and exercise on a daily basis, I will be able to measure my success by seeing the numbers on the scale go down!

A - Because of being on vacation for an extended period of time, I have kept my goal (lose 6 pounds in 12 weeks) on the light side. While I will "hope" to lose more, I will be pleased if ... Sun, 9 Jun 2013 22:26:41 EST February 12 My progress so far....I wish I could say it is farther along than it is. Of course, I can't blame anybody but myself on that. I have maintained the exercise streak, exceeding the minimum amount, so am glad about that. Is the intensity what it needs to be? Maybe that is the part of the problem or that I just need to change up the activities so that my body figures out it has to burn the fuel differently. I do have a hard time pushing myself to try new videos, will certainly admit that. ... Tue, 12 Feb 2013 17:24:41 EST February goals-2013 Are they similar to the goals you had for last month ? My goals are similar and just need to be adhered to better.
Were you able to meet those goals ? I did fair in meeting my goals but could do better.
What do you think you might need to change in order to meet those goals this month ? I just need to focus better on each meal, making better choices one meal at a time.
What will you continue to do? I will continue with the same goals, just enforce them stronger.
Do you... Fri, 1 Feb 2013 11:38:27 EST Letter to my 16-year-old self. Dear Cheryl,

I bet about now you are thinking you should have listened to your mom. She would often say "to you won't always be this thin." Do you remember how you used to walk everywhere you went? Yes, your best friend lived across town and your only means to get there was to walk. Remember how you would race walk to see if you could make it in less time? ahhh those were the days, weren't they. Of course you could eat anything you wanted, you were burning all the calories ba... Fri, 25 Jan 2013 09:36:03 EST How can it possibly be the end of 2012 and I have not succeeded yet??? Well, in answer to that question, I have to admit that this has probably been my worst year for tracking my food. I have had way too many "vacations" from that very task that I know is necessary for me to lose weight. So....

1. My first priority has got to be to track every bite that goes in my mouth. If that little bite is too much hassle to look up the nutrition for it, then it has to stay out of my mouth.

2. My exercise intensity has to be bumped up a notch. For... Sun, 25 Nov 2012 22:14:14 EST BLC-20 Midway goal update argggggggggggg, can you read frustration in that?? I would really hate to think how poorly I would do if I were not part of this team. I have participated in every challenge, so am glad about that. I have not excelled in any of the challenges, but I can deal with that.

I have maintained the 12-week streak and most weeks have exercised 6 days instead of just the 5 mandatory days. I admittedly have not pushed my limits nor have done ST 3 days a week. So those are two things tha... Mon, 22 Oct 2012 20:27:47 EST BLC -20 Plans Boy, nothing like waiting until the last minute. Where has the weekend gone. This won't be as detailed as I'd have liked it to be, but will get the basics down.

Exercise - I have joined the 12-week streak. My plan is to do a minimum of 30 minutes 6 days a week of cardio and 3 days of ST per week working on alternating parts.

Tracking - I will track food each day, staying in range at least 5 of those days.
Adding more veggies to the diet on a daily basis (minimum... Tue, 3 May 2011 08:43:22 EST Took a left, now a right. Seems as though a took a left turn or two the last few days, now it's time to make that right turn and get going the right path again. Seems weird how sometimes when I make a decision to do to show a loss every week of the BL16...I do something to sabattoge that right away. What's up with that anyway! Must be that underlying fear of succeeding that I seem to have. But I'm going to fight it every step of the way. I know I can do this. I can lose enough weight to feel he... Sun, 17 Apr 2011 22:29:17 EST Hardcore week I really don't remember if I thought Hardcore was going to be a killer last time when it was just for four days or not. Sometimes short-term memory comes in handy, because I don't remember if I disliked it or not either LOL Terrible, I know. BUT, one thing I can say that I do know is that I'm really psyched for it to be a whole week! I'm feeling like everything on the list is excuses! (hmm, I remember that phrase recently being used). Count down to the final weigh-in for th... Wed, 23 Mar 2011 21:21:12 EST February already I can't believe how fast this BL-12 weeks is going by already. I really thought I'd be farther along in my weight loss than I am. Mind you, I'm not complaining about what I have lost, was just hoping for a little more by now. I guess that tells me I need to work a little harder on a daily basis. Sun, 6 Feb 2011 09:51:35 EST Feb 4 Eeeks, I'm not starting the weekend out very well. Over in calories yesterday and today. No cardio yesterday or today. This is not good! I certainly don't want to gain back the few pounds I've lost, so will need to work harder on this process. Freggies will have to become my best friend for the sure the next few days! Fri, 4 Feb 2011 23:22:28 EST Blogging ok, I was desperate for a title LOL. I've been fighting with a bit of a headache all evening, so the head isn't thinking creatively here. HARDCORE was a good challenge...pushed me in a few areas that needed pushing. I need to stretch my comfort zone a bit and start doing more than what is expected of me...especially when it comes to exercise. Working on it.... Mon, 31 Jan 2011 23:14:09 EST Every effort is worth it! Oops, almost went to bed without doing this. Amazing what a little challenge can push a person to do! Now, my good buddies Grace and Debi know that in the past I would run the other direction from a challenge, yes even on a BL team. I am not sure what has changed in me that I am trying so hard to complete all of our team challenges, but I have to say that I do like the feeling of it! Many times I have felt that if I can't do things as well as others or do activities as challenging as they... Sun, 30 Jan 2011 23:17:13 EST 1/29/2011 uh-oh, at a loss for words already! It seems hard to believe it's the end of January already and I certainly haven't lost the pounds I was hoping to. That January 1st dedication seems to get put to the side too easily. I am glad that (except for a 5-day period) I have gotten back on the track much quicker than I have in the past. I'm on a great, supportive team. So just trying to keep up with the challenges to not let them down has kept me moving in the right direction. Thanks Team! Sat, 29 Jan 2011 18:21:00 EST First week of BLC #15 So far, so good. Changing of eating habits has gone much better than I expected it would. Even exercise is going pretty good considering what a slacker I've been. I won't be dropping 20-30 lbs this week like on TV, but if I see my numbers go downhill (which I've already seen this week), I'm tickled pink. I love the group I'm with, they are soooooo supportive, energetic and friendly. I do believe 2011 is going to be a good year! Fri, 7 Jan 2011 23:45:25 EST 01/04/09 A new year, a new me. Unfortunately, I went backwards in 2008. Maybe I needed that to reinforce how much I need to exercise of some kind every day and eat healthy 90% of the time at least. I do want to enjoy every day, feeling the best that I can and it is going to take work on my part for that to happen. If I don't take care of myself, who will???!!! Thank God, I have the health to make these things possible, now it is up to me to use that health to make my Maker proud. Sun, 4 Jan 2009 21:09:38 EST Check in time I've lost 20 lbs so far this year, which I am pleased about. I went off the program basically from February until June 1 and had only gained back a few of the initial 14 lost. I've been good about a 30-minute walk at least six days a week since June 1. I am disappointed that I have not lost more in inches so far. And that just tells me I need to put more effort in the toning and greater intensity in the aerobics. I've bought some new tools to work with and am excited to see how they work... Sat, 21 Jul 2007 16:20:05 EST Hanging in there I'm doing pretty good so far this year....sticking with it longer than I have in a long time. I haven't been perfect, but doing good. Weekends are still my downfall and I need to work harder to be consistent on those days. I have gone down 7 lbs so far since Jan 1, so I'm pleased about that...and of course a small amount in the inches department then too! yea for me! Sat, 20 Jan 2007 00:00:00 EST
