By slow -I mean lost like 1 lb in 4 weeks kinda slow. BUT I kept going, knowing eventually, I'd lose more. As of this morning I have met my initial goal of losing 65 lbs! I wanted to get to the mid 170's and then I'd see how I felt. That was my major goal (beyond getting under 200). It took roughly a year and a half to do it, but I made it :)

Now that I'm there, I'm going to make 5 lb goals an... Thu, 18 Jul 2013 13:22:48 EST What the heck Saprk America?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5417975 so, that doesn't work now?

that is the main thing I use here, for tracking my work out min.
There is no link anymore to log them, and if you go to the site it says it's coming back better in the fall?

what to do in the meantime? I guess I'll keep track of my my min. on paper (like I do calories) Ugh...
annoying Thu, 11 Jul 2013 14:42:41 EST 3 hours of zumba! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5373417 Wednesday, I went to zumba morning class and went back at 5:30 for that one too. Nothing new, I do that a lot on Wednesdays. But they had a new instructor doing the hip hop cardio (same thing-just with hip hop music and usually more squats!) and I wanted to see what she's like so I decided to stay for the last classs as well- at least for a few songs. I was pretty tired but I managed to stay for the whole thing because it was SO fun :)
so yeah, that's a new record for me...3 hours of z... Fri, 31 May 2013 09:02:50 EST Woohoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5335134 So, in my last entry I talked about vacation-where we were gone 9 days, and I gained 7 lbs UGH. Well, about 5 days after coming home-I checked and had lost most of it. As of this morning, a week and a half after getting home, it's gone :)
So, my question about was it worth the gain? I'd say, yeah. We had fun and the weight dropped off pretty quick (a lot faster than I expected)

WOOHOO!

Now- to move on to hitting 60 lbs lost (as of today I'm back to 55)
... Thu, 25 Apr 2013 10:14:24 EST Vacation was GREAT... and then I hopped on the scale... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5326736 Yeah. So, we went on vacation and were gone a total of 9 days. First night- Laughlin, then on to RIverside CA to see sister- in - law and her family, and some old friends. It was a good time for the most part-but we ate out a lot more than I expected. She doesn't really cook at home much so... Then we went off to Las Vegas. I LOVE that place, and though I knew we would be eating badly the 3 days we were there- I figured all the walking would *kind* of help with that. Had a great time. Saw... Wed, 17 Apr 2013 18:07:02 EST So sad :( http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5234780 I am really bummed out about Yuliya (my favorite instructor) at Baila (the zumba studio I go to) leaving.
About a week and a half ago, it was announced that she was leaving-due to moving to Florida. She is so inspiring, infectious and talented and was a big reason why I have come to love zumba. She is a belly dancer and taught the classes for that there as well. It all started because I was looking for belly dance classes here and stumbled upon the zumba studio offering them once a wee... Sat, 2 Feb 2013 18:20:10 EST Good-bye 200's! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5176595 Woo! I did it! I made my goal of 199 by the end of December. Not sure what has clicked in the last month or so- but I'll take it!
I finally met my major goal of getting under 200 and I am SO happy.
I got up on Christmas Eve and weighed and was 198. What a Christmas present.
I know I was kinda bad that day and yesterday- but I tried not to go *too* crazy - I definitely want to stay under 200 FOREVER! Today -I'm back to it and hoping I can do well while I'm at my sisters ... Wed, 26 Dec 2012 11:29:33 EST What a couple of weeks! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5154089 Wow- a couple of victories recently. One, I went to zumba and the instructor asked me what my favorite song that she does is-so I told her "On The Floor" because it has fun choreography but she doesn't do it very often and had played it the week before- so it was what popped in my head. She gave me a sort of pouty look and said "it's not on my playlist this time" so, I told her "eh, it's fine- it's fun though. So class started and about 6 songs or so in, that song comes on and she call... Sun, 2 Dec 2012 22:29:01 EST Too much zumba? WHAT? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5092590 I'm in a group on cafemom called healthy weight loss- I posted about my issues with losing weight -since I realised I have only lost 13 lbs since April...UGH
I zumba 5-6 hours a week in a class, and also do a bit of wieghts at home and take a pilates class too (and the just addd a belly dance class again so I will be doing that once a week as well)

A few of them told me I'm doing too much zumba and need to do more other things.
WHAT? I mean yeah- I need more weight t... Tue, 9 Oct 2012 11:48:57 EST 45 days and nowhere... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5091607 wow- I jsut realised I'm only down 3 lbs since August 16th

that's...less than 2 lbs a MONTH

*eating within BMR ALWAYS...working out 5-6 days a week - zumba mostly, but also weights like 2 days and pilates once a week too...I keep adding more- and losing less

bleh

I weighed this morning and I'm 211.5 which is where I was 45 days ago! all that happened in between was me gaining back a couple lbs and now back down to that...

... Mon, 8 Oct 2012 16:48:41 EST Just keep swimming swimming swimming... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5068040 I really wish I could figure out how many calories I need to eat to get this weight loss moving...27 lbs lost is nothing to be upset about- but seriously, it is happening SO slow and I lose 2 gain them back- lose one gain a half...UGH. BMR says I should eat between like 1750 and 2150 a day for my height -weight-and work-outs...(to lose 1-2 a week). I've been staying around 2000 calories average and always within the range (99% of the time anyhow) and adding more work out time and still- it's ... Thu, 20 Sep 2012 15:10:30 EST REALLY trying to stay positive http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4881369 *SIGH*
The last month has not been good to me as far as the scale is concerned. I was stuck at 224.5 for a good 3 weeks then FINALLY on Friday, it dropped to 233 WOO...but then this morning it was up to 225. BOO
I am seriously getting frustrated. I went to 5 hour long zumba classes last week- did an hour pilates class, walked, did some wieghts at home...and had really really hoped I'd at the very least just maintain the 223.
I am drinking water - working out every day- eating... Mon, 14 May 2012 18:09:01 EST Rollercoaster... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4848360 I'm kinda frustrated with this whole thing at the moment. I had found out that I wasn't eating my BMR- so I upped my calories 3 or 4 weeks ago...and I've been working out a little more- I've been doing weight stuff for my arms a couple days a week and whatnot. The thing is that I have lost pretty much NO inches-anywhere...and every time I lose a pound or two-I end up gaining a lb or two back -so the weight is coming off very slowly. *sigh* Frustrating because a weight loss group I joined ... Mon, 23 Apr 2012 15:02:43 EST Last day of March http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4814070 Wow...this month is over
I have managed to work out EVERY day the entire month and I tried Zumba- which was a big thing for me to do.
I've had some disappointments - but I'm not letting them stop me.
I think I need a bit more calories than I've been eating - so I'm going to try that this month and see if progress is any better.

Sat, 31 Mar 2012 20:33:14 EST WHAT THE?!?!?!?!?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4810396 So, I waited at least 10 days to weigh. Worked out EVERY day for the last 28 straight days, done Zumba 3 times since I weighed last and I have lost exactly half a lb.
I re-weighed 3 times to be sure and it gave me the exact same thing every time.
I've been in such good spirits about this thing and thought I was actually starting to make a bit of progress and now this? I weigh too much to not have lost at LEAST 2 lbs just in the calorie difference alone- not counting the 5-ish... Thu, 29 Mar 2012 09:58:13 EST It's Friday and I feel pretty good for the most part! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4801329 Another week has passed and I have tried Zumba 2 more times. I like it for the most part. There are a few moves that I feel completely rediculous at my age- weight- and upbringing doing, but hopefully, I won't feel as self concious and stupid about them as time goes on. My daughter has gone with me to the classes and she likes it too. I love being able to do them with her- and we both definitely need something like this. Last night she even had two of her friends go with us. I didn't f... Fri, 23 Mar 2012 12:22:08 EST Faced another fear...Zumba! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4790357 Last night I decided to go try Zumba. It was the same teacher that was doing the belly dance class there -so I decided to try it with her first. WOW they do not play around...I thought the belly dancing one was rough! The good news is that I faced the fear and went and survived it *though there for awhile I wasn't sure I would ; )
I think we are going to try it again. I wasn't really loving the music (a little of that goes a LONG way) - but oh well. Hopefully, they bring back t... Fri, 16 Mar 2012 10:11:24 EST It's still *something* right? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4769948 Well I worked out for over 3 1/2 hours this week and have watched my calories every day for the last 11 days straight. WOO

Sadly though when I wieghed this morning I had only lost ONE lb.
I could understand if I had been at this for awhile or had lost a bunch already but seriously- it hasn't even been a month since I started this thing and I don't understand how this is even possible- especially with what I weigh now!
Seems like an awful lot of effort for so little in ret... Sun, 4 Mar 2012 11:51:44 EST Bummed : / http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4763154 So, a little over a week ago, I found a class here at a studio that does Zumba all the time. This was a belly dance class and I was SO excited to find one here (and only like 5 min from me too!). They had it scheduled one night a week so I went and it was nothing like any other BD class I have done before-this was more like a cardio class-but really fun and it nearly killed me! (that's a good thing though) Anyhow, last night-my daughter and I went together and she was happy about it too :) <... Wed, 29 Feb 2012 10:27:18 EST In a better place http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4748666 So, Friday I was not in a good place. I think writing it out in this blog helped though, because since then I have gotten on the treadmill 3 days and tried to drink at least one glass of -plain water every day (a big deal for me- I drank it a lot in TX but almost never here). I am going to try a belly dance class tomorrow night, and hopefully it will become weekly and I'll find other classes from that. I need to start counting the calories again and plan to be doing that sometime this week... Mon, 20 Feb 2012 23:30:53 EST Motivation? what motivation?! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4743202 So, I joined Sparkpeople almost a week ago and when I did that I was completely motivated FINALLY...or so I thought. So far-I have done nothing to make a change, and I hate that I havn't. I have no idea where my motivation went. It didn't help that I went to the doctor a couple days ago and their scale said I was heavier than the home one- that in turn made me decide to get a milkshake. TWISTED I know. What's worse is that I KNOW this can be done, because I lost the weight before-the pro... Fri, 17 Feb 2012 10:43:38 EST
