So my roommates and I grocery shop separately from each other because of our work schedules. Unfortunately, sometimes this happens:

Banana overload!
Don't get me wrong, we eat a lot of bananas, but they get brown and mushy so quickly....and we have so many!

I need healthy ideas on what to do with all these bananas before I go bananas!

Help!

38 24<... Mon, 29 Apr 2013 16:55:56 EST Hallelujah! I'm a Planet Fitness member, and the one 3 miles from my house is finally open! Oh happy day!

In addition to that, my weight has finally dropped below 170. I started at 176 when I joined Sparkpeople again, and that was around the first of the year. It's taken me a long time to lose those 7 pounds. I hit a serious plateau and I guess an old-fashioned audit of my diet is what did the trick.
I've recently discovered those Evolve protein shakes and I have to say they are really p... Tue, 23 Apr 2013 16:58:13 EST It's been awhile. Long time no talk, Sparkpeople.

Though my absence has been notable here, it hasn't been notable in other aspects of my life. I've still been working out regularly, which is great. It's really become part of my regular routine again and I feel weird if I can't do it.
Recently, I've been having pain in my lower right abdomen and I'm not supposed to work out until I feel better. That sucks. It's only been a few days and I'm really considering hitting the gym despite doctor's ... Sat, 13 Apr 2013 13:28:45 EST 2 week battle. Just a quick post today.
So I have completely stalled out on losing weight. It hasn't budged in almost two weeks. They say the last ten pounds are the hardest to lose, but I've never had this problem before. I've dialed up the intensity of my work-outs but it doesn't seem to be helping. I don't know where to go from here.
Advice welcome.

Chelsea Wed, 6 Feb 2013 11:11:11 EST Can we dial it back a few years? It's been a few weeks. Fear not, I haven't fallen off the wagon. Yesterday, I had the pleasure of finding out that my favorite size 10 dress fits.

Hooray! Go Me! Woohoo!

However, I wish I had found out it fit under better circumstances. See, one of my very best friends and roommates killed himself. Only 2 days before his 27th birthday, he got drunk and jumped off a bridge, making a decision that he can't live to regret. Sadly for me, my husband, and just about everyone w... Thu, 31 Jan 2013 13:57:57 EST Little Victories! Today I am a very happy girl.

I am so proud to report that my size 13 jeans are officially TOO BIG! :)

Looks like some of my tax money is going to NEW CLOTHES!

YYYYYYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY
YY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!

Have a great day everyone! Celebrate those little victories!

Chelsea

9 345 250 244 Wed, 16 Jan 2013 13:55:22 EST The days are getting hard to count. I think I'm going to stop counting the days, it seems counterproductive. After all, I'm making a change for the rest of my life, not just a change to last for a set number of days.
I'm doing pretty well staying motivated. Things with work have been rough so I've been looking for a new job. It's draining. I've been hitting the gym as an outlet for my stress.
I'm building a lot of muscle with my program, so I actually went up a couple pounds this week. I'm not stressing, as my jeans a... Tue, 15 Jan 2013 00:12:18 EST Day 8-14: Catching up to do. Last weekend I got really, really sick. I got a stomach flu that lasted almost 4 days and on top of it, I got strep throat. This is what working in an elementary school does for you.

Needless to say, I was too sick to get out of bed and couldn't hold down a scrap of food for 72 hours. I had to take a few days off.
The week has been rather hectic and a lot of things are going on with work and a new semester starts on Tuesday for us college folk. It sadly looks like I'll be tran... Fri, 11 Jan 2013 18:48:12 EST Day 7: Stomach Flu Good thing today was a scheduled day off anyway. I certainly wouldn't be hitting the gym considering I can't even keep water down right now.

Hoping to kick this soon.

Chelsea Sat, 5 Jan 2013 13:47:23 EST Day 6: Kicking my own butt Hit the gym hard after work today (tomorrow is a day off). Killed my abs and legs.

Sometimes you have to kick your own butt.

That's all.

Chelsea Fri, 4 Jan 2013 21:19:01 EST Day 5: Time Constraints I joined a gym to help meet my goals this time around. But today was my first day back at work after the holidays, and I found myself short on time. Trying to squeeze an hour workout in today just wasn't possible. I still made it to the gym and did a quick 35 on the elliptical and hit my abs (about 100 crunches).

How do you deal with time constraints on your workouts?
What are your at-home cardio alternatives?
What equipment should I have at home?

I live in a... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 14:26:47 EST Day 4: Eating Struggles I've been attempting to eat "clean" since the beginning of December. Everyone knows that the holidays are a bad time to try and diet, especially in a family like mine. 80% of celebrating is eating.
Today I took a day off from the gym, My middle and lower half are insanely sore (it's a good hurt), and I've been reflecting on my diet.
I don't count the holidays. I knew what I was doing. All is fair at Christmastime (you can't say no all the time).
But looking at my diet log the p... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 00:19:24 EST Day 3: The Lightbulb Moment I was killin' it on the elliptical trainer today at the gym. 40 minutes non-stop, clocking almost 2 1/2 miles. While I was jammin' to and doing my thing, I realized that when I began my initial weight loss journey back in 2011, that I would have never, ever been able to do what I was currently doing.
210 pound me running 2 miles? I would have had a heart-attack and died.
That's when I realized how far I've really come.
For me to do what I did today reaffirms all the work I've a... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 16:16:03 EST Days 1 & 2: Back on the Wagon So I'm starting my new year's resolution a little early. I joined a gym, and have started going. Yesterday was my first day back "on the wagon." Man, did it feel great! It's amazing how quickly your body remembers. After my first workout I felt energized and my skin was GLOWING. I had tons of energy the rest of the day (despite being starving by dinnertime) and I slept like a baby. I'm one of those people that needs instant gratification, so it was a great welcome back.
Today was my seco... Mon, 31 Dec 2012 16:44:07 EST
