Here goes:

I had a really rough end to the year and beginning of this year, resulting in my weight climbing back up to 278, almost back to my beginning spot in 2012 (283.5 - my all-time high.) I half-heartedly tried to lose the weight, and lost 5 lbs in the first couple months of the year, but my head wasn't in the game... I was depressed and miserable, and knew I needed to make some big changes.

So, starting on 3/10/13, ... Tue, 30 Apr 2013 11:17:22 EST 100 Day Challenge: Day 11 (8 lbs gone forever!!) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5087548 Today was my first weigh-in on my 100 days of healthy choices (weighing myself every 10 days), and I'm thrilled that I lost 8 lbs since I started!! So what if most of it is probably water weight? :)

That good news is balanced out by the bad news that my cold has developed into an ear infection... heading out to pick up my prescription as soon as the pharmacy opens. With my cold, ear infection and my twinged back, that means at least one more day of not working out - boo.
... Fri, 5 Oct 2012 08:18:00 EST 100 Day Challenge: Day 10... Back Pain Strikes Again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5086195 Day 10 of my 100 day wellness challenge, and I am unable to exercise. I pulled a muscle in my back yesterday afternoon, and am in excruciating pain. Hoping to take it easy these next couple of days, and stay well within my calorie range and get my water every day, but it is very frustrating to WANT to work out, and to not be able to do that.

In the meantime, ibuprofen will be my friend. 39 Thu, 4 Oct 2012 07:42:41 EST 100 Day Challenge: Day 9 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5085060 I started a 100 day challenge on 9/25/12, which will end on 1/2/2013, coincidentally 1 year from the day I got serious about following SparkPeople in 2012 (I got off track for 6 1/2 months in 2012, but I'm back now.)

The challenge is pretty simple: For 100 days, I will use the trackers and resources on SparkPeople.com to monitor my nutrition and fitness, and I will get at least 10 minutes of exercise every day. I did bend my own rules slightly this week to allow for one day com... Wed, 3 Oct 2012 10:54:33 EST In for a penny, in for a (hundred twenty-three more) pound(s) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5077448 I started 2012 really, really out of shape, weighing 283.5 lbs, and with a burning desire to get back to a "normal" weight. For 2 1/2 months, I was religious about exercising, counting calories and tracking everything on SparkPeople. I was living the program, and seeing amazing progress on the scale. Then, mid-March, I not only fell off the wagon, but I let that wagon run over me again and again. For 6 1/2 months, I ate whatever my little heart desired, didn't track a darn thing, and I th... Thu, 27 Sep 2012 18:12:19 EST I faced the scale (and the scale won)... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4793059 After a week of self-indulgence at an all-inclusive resort in the Caribbean, I shouldn't be surprised or disappointed in the number on the scale, but I am. I'm up 3.5 lbs from last Saturday, when we left on vacation.

I absolutely think a lot of that is water weight, but if I'm totally honest with myself, I absolutely deserved to gain some 'fat' this week too. We were at a place without a regular internet connection, so I used that as my excuse. I wasn't able to track anything,... Sun, 18 Mar 2012 09:10:19 EST Thoughts about Losing 40 Lbs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4768575 I am 40 lbs lighter than I was on January 2, 2012 when I began this journey. Yes, you read that right. 40!!!

Here I was on January 2, 2012:

And, here I was this morning (March 3, 2012):

The sad part? It's not as noticable as I'd like it to be, because I still have so far to go. My husband says he can tell, and ... Sat, 3 Mar 2012 12:28:48 EST 7 Weeks in, 1/4 of the Way to my Goal!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4745924 I have never written a blog entry before, but here goes nothing.

I am 7 weeks into my weight loss journey, and am SO excited that I am already 1/4 of the way to my weight loss goal. Of course, I know that the next 3/4 unfortunately will take me longer than 21 more weeks, but at least I am on my way.

I am down 33 lbs since January 2, 2012. When people look at me, they still see a very large woman (still 250.5 lbs), but I know that I am doing everything in my power to ... Sun, 19 Feb 2012 10:56:39 EST
