SSSOOOO excited about that! <BR> <BR> As we all know, I've been having a hard time staying motivated lately..... I've been "training" for a half in December, but that doesn't seem to be motivation enough for me. So I decided that I need to have something to keep me "going". (thus the whambulance...). <BR> <BR> I started using Spark in January of 2007. Since that time I have not been very good about exercising. But I was still having quite a bit of success.... I had lot 30 lbs by just eating within my calorie range. Every time that I would start to exercise I would gain weight, so I'd quit. So then, in March I decided to start exericising, which led to running, which led to me quitting smoking and now I have been wor... Thu, 10 Jul 2008 09:37:35 EST That Nasty Hill...... So I did my fist hill workout yesterday.... it was pretty brutal, i took a picture of the hill, this is from the top. It was a 528 ft ascent. It was at Sugarhouse Park wich is at the base of 2 different canyons, so there were lots of hills.... I knew there would be, yet for some reason I was surprised when they appeared!!! <BR> <BR> I did not reach my goal for this week.... I walked during my 5k... so that kind of sucked. <BR> <BR> My time was 39:03 <BR> <BR> On a couple of good notes.... Check out the definition of the calf on my back leg!!! AND still no smoking.... One whole month!!! <BR> <BR> I am going... Sat, 21 Jun 2008 15:59:11 EST Bear Lake 10K COMPLETED!!!! Well, I did it!!! I am SO PROUD of myself!!!! I completed my 10K in 1:16:03..... at least that's what my Nike+ said.... I haven't gotten my official time yet. I should have it tomorrow, not that it matters the people that did the race marked it wrong.... they missed a turn or something.... We actually ended up doing 7.1 miles instead of the 6.2 it was supposed to be. <BR> <BR> I wish I would have run more of it..... This time we decided to do something different and ran on the road and not at the track. I was able to keep track of distances and times with the new Nike+ thing that I got. That is SOOOO COOOL!!!! <BR> <BR> I did a total of 5.5 miles in 1:10.....I averaged 13:33 per mile.... I ran 4.0 of that (not straight, but I think I did pretty well....) burned 806 calories <BR> <BR> I went yesterday and got fitted for new running shoes because I went to Dick's t... Today I have a lot to be proud of. <BR> 1st - I am still not smoking (which is even MORE of an accomplishment since my husband is a CHIMNEY). <BR> 2nd - I reached both of my running goals today, I ran 4 miles, AND I went 1.5 miles without stopping!!! Imagine your on a trip, and you just left the rest stop and you realize that you didn't go to the bathroom, so then the WHOLE way to the next rest area all you can think about is how badly you need to pee???? You crank the radio, you talk on the phone, but you just can't get it out of your mind..... Well, that's what this feels like. All I can think about is that I can't smoke. The last couple of days I've been having a lot of trouble with my running. I can't seem to get past 3 miles..... The only reason I can figure is that when I smoke right before I run I don't do as well..... So this morning I decided that I need to make a choice.... smoking or running. I am not good enough yet to run the entire 3 miles, I know that, but hopefully I will get stronger in the coming weeks. At this point I am only concerned with having the ability to complete my 10k which is 6.2 miles.
