For example, at work I might be asked to work on an "urgent" project. Or asked to get some information for someone. But, if I don't start working on it right away, the request may go away. Priorities change. Needs change. Someone else fulfills the request. Yay me!

There are other times, however, that procrastination is not so good for me. For example, I should be doing what I said I was on my SP Status (menus and grocery list). But... I had a meeting at 6, so I made it to the gym before the meeting started. It ended early, so I had time to eat and get my food ready for tomorrow. My dad and his wife still live in the area, but I would rather stay at a hotel. One of the activities is dinner and drinks at a Mexican restaurant in town and I don't want to feel like I need to hurry back to their house so they don't worry. I want to stay out as late as I want! LOL! There is only one small motel in my hometown (population 4231 as of 2014). The closest "big" town is about 30 minutes away.

While searching for a hotel room,... I got to the park at 6:30 this morning and was busy cooking by 7:00. We had bacon, hash browns, sausage and eggs all cooking on a huge skillet-trailer. For a flat fee ($15 or $20, depending on when you paid), you get to taste any and all of the wings that interest you. Plus, I know a lot of the cooks and the other folks who come. It is a full day of socializing!

I've been planning for this day for a couple of weeks. And all I need to do is take my chair and something to drink. Really. It's that simple!! ... In fact, it has rained and snowed so much that all of the reservoirs, lakes, canals, etc. in the area are at or near capacity. And the snow melt is still snow, but is it warming up. Which means that more water is heading our way.

Because of all of the water, we have had a lot of flooding, especially near the river. Entire neighborhoods are underwater. I mean bright...almost neon.

In fact, most days I wear bright colors. A lot of bright colors. Pinks, greens (not muted), bright blues, oranges. Lots of oranges. Workout, laundry, post office, pictures for project, check out some workouts for ideas for future workouts, dinner, Spark. The things I did get done took a little longer than expected. And I'm going in late that day since I have a SB game at 9:00 the night before.

Since DS is going to Florida and DH will be going to work I have the days to myself. Being the kind of person I am, I already have plans for the next four days. First, take the boy to the airport, some shopping at the mall, buy painting supplies, pick up dinner and then start packing stuff up so I can pain... Mon, 8 May 2017 22:57:52 EST Tried two new recipes today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6359002 A friend gave me a couple of new recipes earlier this week and I had time to make them today. One was baked oatmeal and the other was No-Bake Energy Bites. The boy liked them both and even DH liked the bites! So, now I have something to snack on for the next couple of days.

Also, changing up the streaks.

Streak report (week is Sunday - Saturday):
Staying in calorie range 6 days out of 7 - 1 day streak
Sleep at least six hours - 3 day streak
Days... Sun, 7 May 2017 20:12:19 EST Time to break another bad habit http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6358599 As I may have mentioned once or twice (or a billion times!) I start my vacation on Tuesday. As I may have also mentioned, I drink Monsters on a fairly regular basis. Basically, one per day. Some days I drink two. I know these are very bad for me. I know that I don't need that much caffeine. I know that the chemicals are doing bad things to my body.

I also know that it is very hard to get moving in the morning without a shot of caffeine. I don't like coffee unless it has so m... Sat, 6 May 2017 21:39:05 EST Thank you for the suggestions! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6358237 I got some great ideas from you guys on how to control my eating while on vacation. I will definitely incorporate some of them and see how things go. Today, however, was not a good day for eating. I already feel like I'm in vacation mode and it is only a weekend. Granted, my work week will only be one day, but still.

Tomorrow will be better. Yoga...HIRT...walk to the library if weather permits. Followed by going out to dinner with DH. I've got this!!

Streak rep... Fri, 5 May 2017 23:12:46 EST How do I treat myself right during vacation? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6357816 Next week, I work on Monday and then I am off for eight days. I go in late on the ninth day; leave early the 10th day and then take the next five days off. Basically, it's an extended vacation with a couple of breaks for work.

I'm not traveling during either of these vacation breaks. The first week, DS will be in Florida and DH will be going to work. I have a couple of projects that I want to get done, but the main plan is to enjoy my time off.

During that time, ... Thu, 4 May 2017 23:47:33 EST Happy 21st Birthday to my baby girl! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6357384 My daughter's birthday is today and being the party girl she is, she wanted to go to Cafe Ole and have a margarita. So...we did! The whole family plus DD's BF had a nice dinner. She slept in until 11:30, got a free Dutch (like Starbuck's, but WAY better) and then spent the rest of the day getting ready. Sounds like a pretty good way to spend the day to me!!

Streak report (we... Wed, 3 May 2017 23:34:55 EST Graduation announcements done! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6356411 Well, they're ordered. I hope they get here very quickly so I can get them addressed and sent out. Normally, I would have DS address and send, but he will be in Florida when they arrive. And he graduates on the 22nd. I can't delay sending them out any longer than we already have!

He did let me add the picture below to the announcement. This is his "80's Sensitive-Kind-Of-Guy" look. He is definitely my kid! LOL!

<img src="http://photosaws.sparkpeople.com/guid/ed... Mon, 1 May 2017 23:32:55 EST Took advantage of the momentary sunshine http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6355826 Like most of you, we have had a weird Spring here in Southern Idaho. This winter, we had more snow than we have seen in years. It's finally warmed up enough that we are getting rain more often than snow. But, we've had rain probably 6 out of every 7 days. Maybe not that bad, but it seems like it!

Today was a relatively nice day. There was no rain while I was awake (don't kn... Sun, 30 Apr 2017 22:35:28 EST Why do I think going out to eat and weekends are "treat" days? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=6355361 I love weekends. Who doesn't? I can sleep in. I am in charge of my own schedule. I can sit on my butt and do nothing or be really productive. Whichever I want is what I can do!!

So why do I want to eat poorly? Why do I want to choose unhealthy foods that do not make me feel energized? Why don't I plan for the weekend as well as I do for the work day?

<img s... Sat, 29 Apr 2017 23:23:04 EST
