Sun, 19 Oct 2014 07:56:03 EST Day 21/ 100 day challenge to a new you My last 2 days I haven't been truly working my program. Not sure if waking up on Friday and seeing 7 new inches of snow, not having food in the house, or just in a slump. But enough of that.
I have my menu made for the week, will hit the grocery store today and get the right kinds of food in the house. I have tracked my food for 17 days, most days I get in at least 8 glasses of water, most days I get out walking, and I have started doing strength exercises.
I have only walked to work 1 day this week due to the weather and it doesn't look promising for the next 2 days.

I had a great day today. I stayed within my calorie range, drank my water and today I did a dog walk for 25 min., did 10 min of strength exercises, rode the stationary bike for 30 minutes. I j... Wed, 2 Apr 2014 20:46:49 EST Day 14- I made it through the weekend I can't remember the last time I can say I had a good weekend with food. I am just feeling good all over.
Going out for breakfast and some shopping today with my sister, hope I make healthy choices at breakfast, my favorite meal to eat out.

521 Sat, 29 Mar 2014 08:32:18 EST Day 9 / 100 day challenge I increased my goals this week and have met them for the last 2 days.

Walk to work, only 2 blocks
Drink 8 glasses of water
Pack and eat breakfast & lunch
Track my food

I have met these goals the past 2 days.
I am feeling good, not sure if it is the walking, eating healthier, or drinking water or all of the above.

386 Tue, 25 Mar 2014 21:36:40 EST Week 1 summary / 100 day challenge Not a bad first week of my 100 day challenge. I worried about the weekend, I do lots of mindless eating due to boredom.
I tracked my food, worked on getting back to drinking water. Now this week adding in exercise, this is hard I am tired after work and I get up at 4:30a already and not planning on getting up any earlier. The weather has changed so my plan is to start walking to work. This will give me 10 minutes of exercise and any more is a bonus.

I am ready for the upcoming... Wed, 19 Mar 2014 22:27:24 EST No more excuses! I can't believe how many excuses I can come up with for not staying on track-the weather is too hot, can't have my music up loud to exercise because other people are home, being asked to go out to eat and the list goes on. I am amazed at how weak I can be.
I had a goal to loose weight before my son's wedding it is now only 3 weeks away and I think I am going in the other direction and gaining. 39
So today the start of a new week-I have a plan for myself to get back to ex... Sun, 22 Jul 2012 08:18:17 EST ENOUGH! So last week I wasn't a very good sparkie. I didn't exercise (due to a sore foot) and I bought and ate junk food. I was sick at myself for doing that but once I get started on that road it is hard to turn around.

Enough is Enough!
Today I put on my new walking shoes 331 and did a 3 mile power walk with hand weights and I felt great.
I planned my menu for the week and I prepared a good healthy meal for supper.
I need to keep on track for when I do I feel b... Sun, 17 Jun 2012 19:49:15 EST Journey to happiness "The journey is what brings happiness, not the destination." I heard this in a movie I saw the other day.
We all are on some kind of journey and as I think about my journey with Spark, I see that everyday that I stay within my calorie range, get in all my water and do some type of exercise I am happy with myself-another day closer to my goal.
But this also applies to all areas of life-when we find ourselves in a valley what we learn as we climb up that hill we learn, which in turn b... Sun, 3 Jun 2012 10:01:15 EST A new week & a positive attitude! Last week was not a very good one-my schedule got messed up and I don't do well with that. One day of not being able to stick to my exercise routine set me up for failure and I ended up talking myself out of the rest of the days.
I have to get back on track-this isn't funny, why do I do this to myself.
I just got done making out my menu for the week-I need new lunch ideas, it is getting too warm for soup.
I just joined a walking team maybe that will help me to stay motivated. I... Sun, 20 May 2012 08:31:24 EST I had to make a choice I had to make a choice. In the mornings do I spend time on Spark or exercise? For some reason about 4 months ago I quit exercising in the early mornings before work. I have been exercising at 6a for the last year and a half. I have thought of getting up earlier but I get up at 5a now, and most nights I am so dead I don't want to be on the computer.

Well I need to myself back exercising so I joined a "Biggest Losers" challenge being done on one of the teams I am on. 9 I... Mon, 2 Jan 2012 19:23:21 EST A good week Looking back over my week I did good. On Sunday I planned my week, I wrote down a week of lunches, suppers and what exercises I would do each day. Tue, 30 Aug 2011 20:18:28 EST A great day! Last week was a stressful week for me but today I had the best day - While I was exercising this morning hubby made breakfast. Than I suggested the we take the boat out and go fishing. We picked up our grand daughter and took her fishing. I got her a fishing pole and off we went. Olivia caught her first fish and it was first catch of the day- she later caught the biggest fish of the day. I was doing so good and then went on vacation. The weather was awful rainy and cold so wasn't able to hike or just take a good walk. Food was easy camping stuff and treats. It is time to get back on track.
I planned my menu for the week and got the shopping done so food wise I should be good as long as I follow my plan.
I miss my morning exercising so I have my plan in place and will start today.
I feel so much better when I exercise and eat right why I stick to it!
With t... Sun, 29 May 2011 09:13:48 EST I did it!!!!! I just finished a virtual 5K walk/jog race. I wouldn't have been able to do it without my spark friends. My last half a mile of the race I jogged the whole way and was thanking God for each of you.
I have been in a slump the past couple of weeks and today when I woke up the 67 was out that was my sign from God to just do the race that I challenged myself to. 312 . What was I thinking, I signed up for a virtual 5K today. On 3/12 I wrote that I had set a date to run 1 mile outside now here I am going to do a walk/ jog the week of May 8 - 14. Getting myself fit enough to even run a mile has been a goal of mine for many years (in my head) but the last 3 years I have written that goal down, now I am finally going to achieve that goal.
I could never have done this without spark and all my friends that I have met here.

Thank you everyone!!! <... Thu, 31 Mar 2011 17:05:03 EST I set a goal!! So I keep reading about setting goals, writing down your goals and work towards them. For the last 2 years I have told myself that one day I am going to be able to run a mile. Doesn't sound like much but for me it is a big step. I have a Wii and last summer I was running 3 miles in 30 minutes but I want to be outside. I didn't do it last summer because I didn't want to run alone ( excuse ). Anyways today hubby said that this summer he would run with me, so I set a date, put it on my calendar... Sat, 12 Mar 2011 20:41:49 EST Lent Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday the start of Lent one of my favorite times of the year. In the past I have given up something that I really like and sometimes I make it and other times well I don't. As I was wondering what I should do this year the thought of giving up candy, chocolate, fast food didn't seem right. I did come up with my sacrifice TV, not all together. I will do my daily exercise challenges, track my food, drink my water and put in all my data, in other words I will work my program ... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 20:01:57 EST What happens I can be doing a good job of tracking my food, drinking my water and getting in my exercise and losing weight And than something happens and I start to fall off the wagon and eat things that I don't need.
I have been sick most of the week and doing my exercises isn't happening. I love to do challenges and I had just finished up one before I got sick.
It doesn't help when your husband says something about your weight-- that sure makes you want to leave the ice cream in the freezer ... Sat, 26 Feb 2011 08:48:21 EST My challenge Reporting in on how I am doing with my challenge. I started a MN biggest loser challenge on 1/24/11 and I am down 6 lbs. I have been recording my food, getting in all my water and exercising daily. I am feeling good and I will make it to goal only 9 lbs to go.
I know that without the help of Spark I wouldn't be so successful 304 . Sun, 6 Feb 2011 09:38:13 EST A new challenge So my daughter asked me to join a new challenge and it starts Sun. 1/24. It is a MN Biggest Loser challenge and for every pound lost a bag of groceries gets donated to a food shelf. The challenge runs from 1/24 - 4/15. I figured this just might help me stick to my program as the end result of someone getting something from my efforts is great. I can't always give $ to help with causes but this is a win win situation.
Today will be making out my menu and getting the right food for the we... Sat, 22 Jan 2011 09:34:34 EST Winter get away. My husband and I are on a cross country ski weekend. We are about 45 minutes or more on a trail and my binding decides that it isn't going to work anymore. So we have to turn around and I get to walk back to the truck. This was a bigger workout than the skiing as there were times I was up to my hips in snow. After getting the skis into a warm place the binding seems to work, so we will go out again today and we got about 3 inches of new snow yesterday.
Not doing great on my food, trail ... Sat, 15 Jan 2011 08:14:19 EST looking for fresh ideas! I wish I could just stick with my program and not mess up. What is up with that. I know what to do, how to do it but I don't do it. I start out my day doing great getting in my exercise, eating a good breakfast and have 3 glasses of water done before I even head out for work.
I get to work and something happens and than more things and I end up going out to get some chocolate and or chips. I pack myself a healthy lunch and snacks but stress is getting in my way. When I return home I mak... Sun, 17 Oct 2010 11:45:39 EST New attitude I am starting this new week in a different frame of mind. I use a diet journal to write sown my food and exercise and than I transfer the information to the web site. I haven't been doing a good job of tracking of late but that is going to change I hope. My diet journal has only 2 days left so I had to buy a new one so I am going to start the new one today and put the past behind me and get down to business. I have a busy week ahead and we are dog sitting for my sons 2 dogs so I ... Sun, 8 Aug 2010 11:35:29 EST Having fun! I am in Lincoln NE for the Special Olympics National games this week. Yesterday was the opening ceremonies, was that great so much excitement both from family and athletes. "Jars of Clay" played 4 songs that was great getting to see them perform.
My exercise program will be on hold for a week and I only have 1 week left of the 28 day Boot camp, I will be able to get in walking so that will help. 213 Mon, 19 Jul 2010 09:21:12 EST Back to normal? The last couple of weeks at work have been very busy and stressful and I hope that is all behind me now. I had a hard time getting all my goals meet and eating right. Two more days and I am on a weeks vacation, it will be nice to get away from work for awhile. My first day back at work I am gone all day to a Special Olympics Area bocce ball tournament, I am the head coach for 20 athletes, it is a great time but a long day.
Hoping to really get back in my grove, missing my walking time ... Wed, 14 Jul 2010 22:39:47 EST No more Brats or chips! Picnics are great, I love the food and I can never have just 1 brat. Two days of picnic food is enough I need to get back to program. Flavored chips are another big down fall for me and Lay's has come out some new and great flavors. Enough about the food.
I am still going strong on my exercising, I just wish it would quit raining and the humidity would lighten up some.
Hoping that Tuesday is a good food day. 67 Mon, 5 Jul 2010 20:19:44 EST Going strong! Today I didn't sleep in I wasn't tired. With the extra time this morning I right to my exercising. I had 70 minutes in before 7:30a. I did the Wii free run this morning and made it 4.58 in 30 minutes better than the last time. I can't believe how getting in my exercise has become very important to me 104 . In my 2nd week of Boot camp and doing well.
Going out to breakfast with my sis today will need to be sure to eat right.
Have a great 4th everyone.
252 Sat, 3 Jul 2010 09:52:03 EST Internet is down! Here I am going strong and I get home last night and I am informed that we have no internet. I won't have it at home until July 8th. How frustrating as I am doing the 28 Day Boot Camp, and going strong. I went and found a computer and printed off the work outs so I can continue. It just isn't the same but I did the exercises today.
I will have to do go and find free WiFi everyday so I can continue to rack up my points and get credit for my hard work, I won't give up just another challe... Wed, 30 Jun 2010 08:59:14 EST Good exercise day Today I started with boot camp day 1 and that kicked my bootee. I ended up watching my grand daughter for a short time so that put a halt to my exercise for the time being. I did 20 minutes of Wii free step while watching the Twins game. After I dropped off my grand daughter I came and mowed our lawn and it took me an hour, then I headed out on a walk all by myself for 30 minutes. I am tired and I bet I will sleep good tonight. 104 Sun, 27 Jun 2010 19:09:55 EST Making it happen! Today was day 3 of Boot camp but after doing the video I still needed to put in more time to reach my other daily goals, so I did 15 min on my Wii fit. I thought I would give trying the free run for 30 minutes I have been doing 20 minutes for awhile but 30 minutes just seemed too tough, I pushed myself and I made it. I didn't run hard until the last 5 minutes. I ran just over 4 miles. I am so proud of myself.
I like doing these Spark challenges they really push me I think because I lik... Sat, 26 Jun 2010 13:30:33 EST Boot camp here I come So I thought I would change things up and I joined the 28 day boot camp challenge. What was I thinking, I know I needed a kick and I think that will do it. I am already doing exercises at least 5 days a week and I have been walking at least 30 min. a day so I think I will be able to do it.
I am just about done with a 10 minute exercise a day challenge and I was able to stick with that.
I have a goal in mind I want to be in a size 12 by July 17th as that is when I am going ton a vaca... Thu, 24 Jun 2010 21:06:37 EST New beginnings Enough was enough, I had to do something so I took out my Spark book and am starting from the beginning, what could it hurt. I join more teams, added more goals to my day. So starting today 6/1/10 I am going to work the program, interact with my Spark friends and learn to live a healthy lifestyle and stick to it. 249 Tue, 1 Jun 2010 21:55:54 EST Must be doing something right. I can't believe how good I feel. I have been staying on track with my food, and doing strength exercises for 30 min. and the treadmill for 30 min and drinking all my water for just the last 3 days. I am not hungry or craving those sweets that I was just last week. Hope I can keep this up. Looking forward to my morning workout. 30 Tue, 20 Apr 2010 22:26:36 EST Love'n the new exercise DVD I tried out my new Biggest Loser exercise DVD over the weekend, boy does it work you. My legs were very sore on Sunday but I did it again and today I don't feel sore but I know I worked my legs and butt for 2 days. I can't believe how good I feel. I don't get that I am working harder and sweating and I don't burn as many calories as I did doing my Wii plus for 30 min. I am being robbed somewhere. Can hardly wait till next month when I take my measurements I am sure there will be a change.... Mon, 19 Apr 2010 11:32:44 EST A new exercise DVD Tonight I bought The Biggest Loser for the Wii. It looks kind of fun, maybe exercising with new people, (right now I do the Wii plus) will help. It has yoga and I really enjoy doing that. 417 Thu, 15 Apr 2010 21:38:07 EST New week So it is another new week and I am starting over Again. Today I didn't screw up, I tracked my food and I got the dogs out for a 45 minute walk, and I got in my water. Now to keep the momentum going for day #2. Sun, 11 Apr 2010 20:07:28 EST What is going on? I sure can't get my act together these days. I am getting real tired of it. I have done my menu for the next week including making new lunches. I am hoping if I make different lunches and not the same old thing I won't go looking for chocolate in the afternoons. All I know is something has got to give. Maybe setting new mile stones to reach. I will take one day at a time and see how this next week goes. Sat, 10 Apr 2010 11:36:31 EST Not giving up Today I woke up refreshed and ready to do this right. I am going back to the start and doing all that I did when I started 3 months ago. My menu is ready for the week and the shopping is done without any candy in the cart. I am drinking my water and tracking all that I have eaten so far today. Now to get in my exercise, waiting for hubby to get home from work to see if he would like to take the pups out for a walk. Sun, 28 Mar 2010 14:48:21 EST Milk Duds! I can't stay away from Milk Duds and right now you can buy a big box of them for only $1 and they are everywhere I go. I will even make a special trip to the Dollar store to buy 1 or 2 boxes. I have got to STOP with the Milk Duds.
Today I had an email talking about set backs just what I needed to read. One of the points was to set a mini goal and maintain it for 14 days, so I will not buy Milk Duds for 14 days, I will chart on it daily in my other goals section. I hope I am able to...
