I never thought of myself as a negative person. In fact I'm usually pretty positive but apparently not when it comes to my own weight loss. I need to make more of an effort to think positively about my weight loss no matter how my day is going. Tue, 22 Jul 2014 09:29:30 EST End date for weight loss goal http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5690044 SparkCoach says to write my commitment down so here goes. I'd like to reach my weight loss goal by the first week of December, which is when I'm scheduled to run the Honolulu Marathon wih my cousin. Sat, 3 May 2014 04:27:19 EST Spark Activity Tracker - solution for where to put it http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5579774 I ordered the Spark Activity Tracker since it seemed a good way to track my steps and also record my exercise on SparkPeople. It's not always accurate in terms of how long I've been exercising, but so far I enjoy using it. Right now I'm at 6000 steps a day, so hopefully I can increase that as time goes by.

I had a little bit of a problem about where to put the tracker since I'm home all day in my socks. I put it on my sock but I did throw my tracker into the dirty laundry one day b... Thu, 2 Jan 2014 17:19:47 EST Day by day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5574139 I did pretty good over Christmas, not stuffing my face although I did go over my calorie count. I also ran every day while on vacation, which was fantastic.

I read the One Day Way by Chantel Hobbs and it was really inspiring and helpful. It's amazing what I can do when I only think about today and not about yesterday or tomorrow. I also ate a lot slower, which enabled me to eat less for the meals where I would normally go hog wild.

She suggests fasting for a day to help ... Sat, 28 Dec 2013 22:04:48 EST Back at it again http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5570632 I feel like I do this all the time: Something sidetracked my fitness and eating, I gained weight, and I finally reached a point where I was too disgusted to continue and so I'm back on SparkPeople. But I guess that's better than not getting back on SparkPeople at all.

Last year it was stress at work, which led me to revert back to bad snacking habits. I have started to understand my bad habits so this year I will make an effort to break them so that when I get stressed again, I won... Mon, 23 Dec 2013 17:58:42 EST FMD - off the diet http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5430046 I quit the Fast Metabolism Diet after 3 weeks. I think I was doing something wrong in Phase 3, although I couldn't figure out what it was. I'd lose weight in phases 1 and 2, and then gain it back in phase 3, and so each week I lost only 1-1.5 pounds, not the 5 pounds per week the diet claimed.

I was tempted to just finish the four weeks to try to figure out what I was doing wrong, but another reason I quit is because for phases 1 and 2, every week, I'd have terrible migraine headac... Mon, 22 Jul 2013 23:53:36 EST FMD day 6 and day 7 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5411638 Yesterday was day 6, but I had such a bad headache last night that I couldn't write my blog entry, so I'm doing it today.

Yesterday when I woke up, I was disappointed that I hadn't lost any weight. :( I hadn't gained any either. :)

I thought I did really well for meals yesterday, but I forgot to do my SP calorie counting until after dinner and I think I forgot to eat lunch! Doh! So my calorie count was high yesterday, but I only ate 4 times.

What was weird was... Fri, 5 Jul 2013 15:20:02 EST FMD day 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5410264 I'm feeling better today, but I was surprised to get a low grade headache in the early evening. I'm not sure what's going on --if it's because of my period or if I'm getting a detox headache.

I had really bad cramps today and took Tylenol, which I know stressed my liver, so I'm not sure how much I'll lose tomorrow. This morning when I weighed myself, I was at 147.8, which means I lost 0.4 pounds from yesterday. Yay! I really do hope I lose weight tomorrow despite the Tylenol.
... Thu, 4 Jul 2013 03:52:34 EST FMD day 4 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5409231 Today was so much better than yesterday! And one of the main reasons is that my headache is now only a slight, mild one.

Another reason is that I got on the scale this morning and I've lost 2.4 pounds! I was bloated later yesterday but I wasn't bloated in the morning when I weighed myself, and I wasn't bloated the day before when I weighed myself, and both times I was at 150.6, but this morning I was at 148.2. So going down 2.4 pounds in one day is so motivating! I hope it's not ju... Wed, 3 Jul 2013 03:05:12 EST FMD diet day 3 - WORST. DAY. EVER. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5408145 I had high hopes for today, but the lingering headache I had yesterday became a full-blown migraine today. I kept to the diet and had very little problem sticking to only protein and veggies, but then the migraine got worse.

I'm pretty sure it was a hormone induced migraine since I started my period today. I always have migraines when I start my period each month, but this one was bad, maybe because I didn't take anything to stop it yesterday. Usually I drink soymilk and take a Tyl... Tue, 2 Jul 2013 03:32:47 EST Fast Metabolism Diet: day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5406722 I started the FMD yesterday after reading the book on Friday. I really want to lose about 30 pounds also because I think it will help my running time improve and lessen the stress on my knees and ankle. I had a lot of the foodstuff on hand so I just decided to start the diet, plus I needed to run yesterday and you're only supposed to do cardio on days 1 and/or 2.

Cardio was terrible yesterday, partly because of the intense heat, but mostly because my ankle is acting up again. I was... Sun, 30 Jun 2013 21:16:05 EST Overeating = guilt + bloating = disaster! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5365138 I made a significant realization today. I had overeaten on Sunday, and I was feeling a bit guilty about that. On Monday, I was really bloated and exercise was AWFUL. However, that day I ate very clean and so on Tuesday I was much less bloated. I could tell the most when I stretched after exercise because it was easier to do a forward fold since my stomach wasn't in the way. :)

I was thinking about that today while I was running. It was a good run and I felt good and I think it was ... Wed, 22 May 2013 23:22:55 EST Weird quad muscle twitching http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4854341 I ran today for the first time in about two weeks, and it felt great. But then hours after the run, I noticed that my rectus femoris (I think) muscle was twitching sporadically. It didn't hurt but it was very annoying.

The first thing I did was some massage, light at first and then deeper and harder, but it didn't help at all.

I did some online searching and one article said that sometimes a type of leg cramp will start off as small twitches for 20-30 minutes and then tu... Fri, 27 Apr 2012 06:15:57 EST I realized I've been cheating http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4850749 I'm back on SP after a few months away while I was on deadline, and I gained back about ten pounds. I got Vibram FiveFinger shoes because I've been reading that it helps people with flat feet because it helps strengthen the tendons and ligaments in the foot. So far, the Vibrams feel great but I've had to break into them very slowly, and that's frustrating when I used to go out for hour long runs. Now, 30 minutes is painful because I'm still getting used to the minimal shoes and changing my ga... Tue, 24 Apr 2012 22:30:06 EST Busyness and stress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4685985 I skipped exercise all last week because I had three major projects due for work, which stressed me out quite a bit. Also, it was so much work that I ended up getting only about 4 or 5 hours of sleep a night because I had to get my projects done by the deadlines.

Why is it that when I get super busy, my exercise and eating goes out the window? I think I must handle stress terribly. I get so stressed and anxious about not having enough time to get my work done that I skip my exercis... Tue, 17 Jan 2012 04:55:41 EST Soups http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4647062 I've been inspired lately to incorporate more soups into my diet. I'm not a huge salad fan but vegetable soups can be a good substitute. With the colder weather, soups are comforting and I like that I can pack them with vegetables, plus they can be low fat if I'm careful about the recipes I pick.

It's been really fun to search for soups on Spark Recipes. I'm on the lookout now for soups I haven't tried yet. I've tried all the soup recipes in a Williams Sonoma soup cookbook that I o... Sat, 31 Dec 2011 18:54:10 EST Overate for Christmas, but still on track if that makes sense http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4639533 I knew I was going to overeat during Christmas since I get to eat foods I normally don't get during the year--my uncle's homemade cheesecake, wontons, caesar salad, and sashimi; my sister-in-law's spongecake and pecan pasties; dinner at Pappadeaux's and lunch at Chompie's; drinking my auntie's good wine with her.

As I looked back through the year, the one realization I had was that I love eating (certain foods) and it gives me a great deal of pleasure, and because of that, I need t... Tue, 27 Dec 2011 02:01:32 EST Eating on the road http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4596220 I got some great ideas on eating while traveling here on SparkPeople, and I put one into practice today. Someone suggested bringing two coolers with you on a road trip, one for hot and one for cold food. Then take stuff that's already in your fridge which will only rot while you're gone and bring it with you so that you can have some healthy meals on the road and not have to stop to buy something, or resort to just snack food.

I had made some low-fat Ribollita and had two servings ... Wed, 23 Nov 2011 00:33:50 EST Starting to think like someone who exercises http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4594808 Okay, this might seem odd, but I am inordinately proud of this. So I'm packing for our trip to Mendocino, and I intend to run a couple days while up there, so I pack my running shirts. I actually pack more than I need because I don't know if I'll need long sleeve or short sleeve, so I pack 2 of each.

We're also going to some wineries up there, so I pack my jeans and some T-shirts.

Then I thought, why don't I wear running shirts with my jeans and make them do double duty?... Tue, 22 Nov 2011 00:37:13 EST More thoughts about planning better http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4593362 I always overeat when I'm on deadline, mostly because while I've tried everything I can think of, somehow eating while I write really does help me. But as I looked over my Nutrition Tracker, I noticed that while I ate a lot of calories today, I probably would have been within my calorie range if I'd made a better choice for lunch. I had a high calorie lunch that started me off with a huge chunk of my calorie count already taken up, even before I started snacking while I was writing.
<BR... Mon, 21 Nov 2011 04:50:02 EST Need to plan better http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4588117 Wow, went way over my calorie count today (well, Wednesday). I knew I was going to be high today, I'd planned on it, but not well enough.

I suppose that's the lesson I have to take from this--plan better. Especially when it comes to dinner.

Today I hadn't planned on what vegetable side dish to eat, and since my husband was hungry, I went with something higher in fat and faster to cook. Not a wise choice since I'd already eaten a lot that day. I had a low fat main dish ... Thu, 17 Nov 2011 04:56:35 EST Vibrams 2nd run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4581704 I have to admit, I'm pretty excited about transitioning to using my Vibrams. I did my second run/walk today, again only a mile, but I didn't feel any arch pain.

That could be because I massaged the bottoms of my feet with a golf ball the night before--I find that I have less arch pain when I do that, regardless of the shoes I wear for my run--but I'd like to think that the lack of any arch pain today is because my feet tendons and ligaments are getting stronger.

I also ... Sun, 13 Nov 2011 02:39:29 EST Vibrams and flat feet http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4578540 I tried my new Vibram shoes today, I went for a short 1 mile run/walk of 30 seconds running, 30 seconds walking intervals.

I expected my arches to hurt more, and I didn't expect my toes to ache. Overall, it didn't feel too bad.

I didn't need to alter my foot strike very much since I already land naturally on my mid foot rather than my heel, so shifting to land on my forefoot didn't feel very awkward at all.

I'm also doing the exercises recommended in the Vib... Thu, 10 Nov 2011 20:11:48 EST Honolulu Marathon! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3843775 I finished my very first marathon! And a huge thank you to everyone who prayed for me! I really felt those prayers! (See below.) My chip time was 7 hours, 13 minutes.

(Chip time is the electronically tracked time using a chip I got that attached to my shoe. Every time I passed a special strip on the road, the sensor picked up my chip, which was registered to my race number and identification, and that’s how my time was posted on my Facebook wall—the company who does the whole chip ... Tue, 14 Dec 2010 14:59:13 EST I've been AWOL http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3792291 But I had a good excuse! I've been on deadline for a book and so I was putting in 18-20 hour days working to get it done in time. My poor husband had to deal with no cooking, no cleaning, and barely a "hello" when he came home from work! He also flew to China in the middle of all that (probably a blessing in disguise since he didn't have to watch me go into meltdown over my computer) so I ended up pulling a few all nighters to get the book done in time. And I turned it in! Yay!

Now... Thu, 18 Nov 2010 14:19:01 EST Why am I doing this, again? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3733967 I just ran 23 miles today and MY FEET ARE KILLING ME.

My leg muscles and tendons actually feel pretty good, but the balls of my feet are really achy and sore. Feels like the pain is from my bones and tendons, not my skin. No blisters.

I really don't know what to do about this--if there's anything I can do--and if I'm just being a wimp and the soreness will eventually go away as I run more. This was the longest distance I've ever run in my entire LIFE so maybe some foot s... Fri, 22 Oct 2010 21:03:27 EST I ran the San Jose Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3693018 This was quite an unusual experience for me, and not all of it good.

I wanted to experience an actual race before doing the Honolulu Marathon in December, so I signed up for the San Jose Half Marathon because I thought it would be closest to the experience of a Marathon event. (I wasn’t positive a 5K or 10K would be organized the same way as a marathon.)

My problem is that in running this half marathon for “fun” (HA!) I was still doing my marathon training program, which... Tue, 5 Oct 2010 00:21:49 EST Trouble staying within my calorie range http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3673021 I have to STOP thinking that running 5-7 hours a week gives me license to overeat! I've been over my calorie count for the past week or so and I can't seem to stop myself!

My biggest problem is too much fat in my diet. I have been trying to eat more protein because most days I barely make 60g of protein, which is not enough for the running I'm doing. But animal protein tends to be very high in fat. I am not a fan of turkey or chicken breast, although I've been trying to force myse... Mon, 27 Sep 2010 02:45:39 EST I am a different person http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3620798 I discovered something tonight and just had to blog about it.

Last week, I weighed myself (just before getting my period--ugh!) and for the first time since right after college, I was below 140 pounds. I was 139.5. I was shocked! And elated!

This is such a milestone for me. I have always been the chunky girl. I have always been just gaining a few pounds each year, never really going down by more than 3-4 pounds before climbing right back up.

This year, my weig... Thu, 9 Sep 2010 04:27:50 EST I ran 15 miles today!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3581185 And I felt really great at the end of it!

I did a :20 second/:40 second run/walk interval for the first 3 miles to force myself to keep a slower pace, because otherwise I'll go too fast and then poop out halfway. At mile 4, I switched to a :30/:30 interval and kept my pace at about 1.5 - 2 minutes per mile slower than my projected marathon pace.

I felt really good for the last five miles so I picked up my pace a bit, averaging about 14:35 per mile, which is actually my ... Fri, 27 Aug 2010 18:09:03 EST Excited about running in many different ways http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3560865 In my marathon training program, I'm scheduled to run 15 miles next week, and I'm really excited! Which is weird if you think about it, because the 13 miles I ran last week weren't exactly easy peasy.

But they weren't really hard, either. Mentally, it was a bit tough to be running for almost four hours, and my body was a bit tired but not fatigued. For most of the 13 miles I felt okay. My legs were a tiny bit sore the next two days, but then they felt fine after that.

I... Sat, 21 Aug 2010 20:42:40 EST I ran 13 miles!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3534830 Today, I did 13 miles! That’s half a marathon! Hooray for me! I was really slow (13 miles in 216 minutes = 16.6 minutes per mile) but I don’t care! I’m just glad I could do it!

According to Jeff Galloway, the key to the long run is going 2 minutes slower than your projected marathon pace. The last time I tried to do a long run, I think I started out too fast because I started dragging around mile 7. This time I was determined to stay fresh, so I set my interval timer to go 20 secon... Fri, 13 Aug 2010 20:30:48 EST More craziness from the Running Camy http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3507514 I posted on my blog today about the frustrating time I've had buying new running shoes (
camys-loft.blogspot.com/2010/08/i-am
-benched.html
).

The worst part about it all is that I couldn't run! Actually, well, okay, I tried to run today in my old shoes which cause me blisters. I taped my toes and even stuffed wool fleece in my socks because I read it helps with blisters, but to no avail--my shoes are just too small now that my feet have expanded because of the ru... Thu, 5 Aug 2010 20:32:54 EST Fear http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3409754 I've been really good about exercising for almost 3 months but for the past 2 weeks I've been really bad about my eating. I don't eat a lot of things that are bad for me, but my portions of regular stuff is too large. For example, 5 oz of pork instead of 3 oz, and 2 cups of veggie pasta instead of 1 cup.

It probably doesn't help that it's my time of the month and so my scale gave me a heart attack yesterday when I shot up 2 pounds. The sad thing is that before the water gain, I had... Thu, 8 Jul 2010 00:38:47 EST Getting up early to run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3354052 I know I am seriously mental because I am actually getting up early in order to run at sunrise, when it's cooler. I can't believe this. I am so NOT a morning person and yet I am cheerfully going to bed earlier and setting my alarm clock for the buttcrack of dawn in order to run.

I hope this is not an aberration and that I will continue to enjoy running this much!

My problem is that I have a hard time running on an empty stomach. I'm getting some acid reflux/heartburn dur... Sun, 20 Jun 2010 22:52:53 EST I'm crazy--I love running! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3342614 I have never been able to say that before I started the Jeff Galloway running program, but now I can really say I love running!

A part of me says I'm certifiable. I talk about my running ALL THE TIME. My friend Danica is ready to smack me if I mention "Jeff Galloway" or "marathon" one more time to another one of our friends. I just can't stop talking about it because I'm so excited about it, and because I LOVE it so much. Isn't that crazy?

I've been running consistentl... Thu, 17 Jun 2010 00:30:01 EST Ran 6 miles today! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3338730 I feel AWESOME! I've never run so far in my life! Now granted it was a run-walk (a la Jeff Galloway) but I ran a a total of 3 miles and walked 3 miles, and at the end I felt great (as opposed to wanting to hurl my lungs out). I ran 6 miles in 91 minutes, so I'm going at a total pace of 15 minutes per mile, which is slow but not bad. I hope I can speed up eventually. Tue, 15 Jun 2010 22:58:08 EST Zipper syndrome is driving me crazy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3334948 So, I'm staying with a friend (it's been about 2 weeks) and I don't have easy access to a scale, so I've been trying to eat healthily (I'm not doing horribly, but I'm not always staying within my calorie range) and exercise regularly (been able to do that successfully! Yay!).

I've been using the zipper syndrome to figure out how my weight is doing, but it's so inconsistent! One day my jeans will be loose, the next day the same pair will be tight. I hate this! It's totally messing w... Mon, 14 Jun 2010 22:38:42 EST Having a hard time with calories at conference http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3311534 I'm at a writer's conference and I'm having a hard time keeping within my calorie count! At some meals, the food isn't very good, and I end up eating very little, but then I snack to tide me over until the next meal. No fresh veggie snacks here (no fridge) so I've been eating trail mix, which I always seem to overeat.

I've also been trying to eat more animal protein because my nutrition report has consistently been scolding me for going under my protein goals and I need to add more... Mon, 7 Jun 2010 22:09:44 EST Veggie Straws are my downfall! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3291408 I just can't seem to not eat them when I'm working! Tried carrots and celery. Tried fruit. Not the same as Veggie Straws. I think it's also partly the salt--I think I have a tendency to sweat out all my electrolytes, and my body will often crave salt.

Veggie Straws are usually not a problem if I have been good with my eating for the day and leave some calories for them when I'm working at night. Or if I work earlier that day and snack on Veggie Straws, and then cut back on my dinne... Wed, 2 Jun 2010 04:37:24 EST Overate today but ... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3278928 ... I don't really feel too bad about it. I think because:

1) This is the only day in the past week that I have gone over my calorie range! Yay! One day outside of my calorie range is still doing better than I did last week, and that's the most important thing!

2) I did a lot of great exercise this week, which makes me feel less guilty.

3) The extra calories were for a good cause--I snacked while writing and got a lot done!

4) I was doing good on my... Sat, 29 May 2010 04:56:09 EST Yay! Ran 4 miles! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3275944 So I tried the Jeff Galloway run/walk method today at a 2:1 ratio and ran 4 miles! Before I've only ever run 3 miles. I felt GREAT after the run, rather than wanting to die. I even took the dog out for a walk afterward.

Overall, combining my walking and running, my pace for today's 4 mile run is a bit slower than when I ran for 3 miles without walking.

On Monday, my 3 mi w/o walking pace was about 11.6 minutes per mile, and today my pace was 13 minutes/mile.

... Fri, 28 May 2010 04:59:17 EST I discovered Jeff Galloway http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3272198 Just a few days ago, I discovered Jeff Galloway's running training method and I am SO hyped up to run now! I haven't been this excited about running since early last year when I first started the C25K program.

I had a secret dream of one day running a marathon, but really saw it as only a very distant possibility--distant as in, probably not for 2-3 years, and only if I trained like crazy. But now after reading the comments by REAL PEOPLE on the SparkPeople Galloway forum boards, I... Wed, 26 May 2010 23:39:12 EST Scheduling exercise http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3265191 For the first time today (Monday) I automatically scheduled my exercise without even thinking about it. I had certain things I needed to do today, so I scheduled my run within a certain hour of the day and did it, even though I was pressed for time.

I don't think I've ever done that before, at least not without a great deal of waffling. Today I just did it. I hope this means I'm starting to make exercise a natural part of my day as opposed to the one thing I have to force myself to... Tue, 25 May 2010 04:50:43 EST I survived the dreaded "I'm hungry and I forgot to bring enough food" http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3258510 I had youth group at church tonight and even though I brought strawberries and yogurt, I ate them around 6 pm and by 8 pm I was starving. Youth group always has cookies and chips so I was a little anxious that I'd overeat, but I didn't! I had only 1 oz of chips and one sandwich cookie and I was done! Then I went home and had low fat ramen with lots of veggies. I went over my calorie count by about 20 calories, which really isn't bad at all. Sun, 23 May 2010 02:43:44 EST Stayed within my calorie count for three days now http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3255877 I was reading today about not being perfect with my eating, just doing better than the week before. I've kept within my calorie range for three days now and feel pretty good, and it's definitely an improvement over the week before.

I've also been good about my exercise this week. I finished the Spark Your Way to a 5K running training program and now I'm working on the 10K one. My big test will be if I can keep up my exercise while I'm on vacation next month. I think I just have to ... Sat, 22 May 2010 03:26:27 EST In training for vacation http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3248981 As I was running today (yay! I got my butt out the door!) it occurred to me that I'll be traveling in about two weeks and I'll be facing a disruption of my healthy eating while I'm on vacation.

I've really relied on being able to cook my own meals for my weight loss, because I've been able to use a lot of veggies and lower the fat content of recipes. But when I'm traveling, I'll only be able to rely on: (a) my healthy eating choices, which I'm not sure I have a lot of faith in, and... Thu, 20 May 2010 05:05:46 EST Back on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3241319 After the eating blow out of a couple weekends ago (aka my parents' visit), I finally feel back on track.

It actually wasn't really a blow out, because even though I ate (and drank) a lot, I still made good food choices that I wouldn't have made the last time my folks came to visit. Small things, like being able to not finish food I would have normally finished, drinking less wine than I would have a year ago, and making better choices at restaurants. And i kept up my exercise whil... Tue, 18 May 2010 03:57:02 EST
