When I received this product however, I was really excited but also nervous to try it. For quite some time now, I have been averaging about 7-8 hours of sleep each night, but it has taken me way too long to fall asleep and my sleep has not been restful. When I received my Garmin Vivofit for Chirstmas, I was excite... Thu, 3 Dec 2015 21:37:45 EST There's More Than One Way to Measure Progress Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I've blogged and well, the only reason for that is that I didn't really feel like I had anything worth sharing with all of you because the progress on the scale hasn't been doing much of anything. But for the last couple weeks, I have been thinking about just that. Progress.

What is progress? Well defines it as: A movement toward a goal or to a further or higher stage.

I have been at this journey for a few years... Fri, 2 Oct 2015 11:36:58 EST "Am I Fat, or Am I Skinny?" So, if you have read any of my blogs for the last year-ish, you have probably read that I work in the nursery at my local athletic club. I absolutely love working there because the girls I work with are great and I get a free membership to the club for working there. With that membership, it not only gives me access to the machines on the fitness floor, but it also gives me access to the pool, hot tubs, sauna, steam room and countless fitness classes. And I have taken advantage of just about ... Sun, 22 Mar 2015 21:54:42 EST Time is precious, waste it wisely So my last blog was all about peace because I was needing some badly. I explained how my main job was causing so much stress, anxiety and lack of peace. Well last Thursday, I was let go from that job. I was a preschool teacher in a grant funded classroom and my classroom just was not filling. A full classroom is 18 children and I only had 6. So, they split my kids into the other two rooms and they let me go. They technically offered me another position there, but $4/hr and 10 hr less per week... Fri, 13 Mar 2015 22:19:57 EST Needing some PEACE Whether we are struggling with our health journey, financial journey, relational journey or emotional journey, we have all had moments where we just could use a little more peace. For me, I'm struggling with a little bit of all of these. My finances are weighing down on me, but my job isn't quite cutting it for me. My younger sister is only a couple months away from having her first child and that only reminds me of how I've yet to go on a single date. And to top it all off, I'm still on this... Sun, 25 Jan 2015 21:13:21 EST How do You View You? I know I haven't blogged in a while but this is one I've been wanting to do for over a month now, but after reading the article below, it really has pushed me to just do this. Alright, so here it goes...

Over a year ago, it may even be closer to 2 now, I challenged myself to do something that I called 70 Days of Me. For 70 days, I took a selfie and posted it on here saying two Inge I liked about myself. And let me tell you, my self esteem and self image were so low, I had days wher... Sun, 12 Oct 2014 20:10:01 EST Struggling and Frustrated and to top it off the refrigerator stopped working Off and on for the past month and a half I have had some tooth pain. Well in the last few weeks it had gotten to he point of bringing me to tears. Well almost two weeks ago now I ended up in urgent care because of an infection hat was causing my face to swell. I finally got in to the dentist a week later where I learned that I have absolutely terrible teeth. Now, I knew my teeth weren't perfect and in fact, I really don't like my teeth. But having not had dental insurance for the last 10+ yea... Yes, I have been on the journey for a while now and have found some success, but I still have days where life gets rough and I forget about what I have already conquered along the way. A lot has happened the last two months that has caused me a ton of stress, anxiety and frustrations. This week, I have done nothing to combat those feelings. I have give... Thu, 17 Apr 2014 21:38:28 EST Holy Crap! That's a fun realization! So tonight I went for a run and it felt so good! For anyone who has been following my story, I have really been struggling with running for well over a year now. And tonight after my run, I was disappointed in my time because I didn't think it was as good as I used to be back before my problems started...which would make sense since I haven't run as faithfully, or really much at all, in e last year and a half. But when I looked back at my MapMyRun saved workouts, this is what I saw:
<BR... Thu, 10 Apr 2014 21:39:27 EST Help! So last night, my cousin asked me if I could come up with the words to say to his teenage foster daughter to encourage her to find some form of movement that she enjoys in order to help her out. He said that she's been commenting on how her clothes are getting tight and how she's gained about 30lbs this winter. She is 14 years old. It is such a hard time in life and she's complaining of not feeling like she's fitting in with her friends due to her size. What should I do? Should I say somethin... Ok, so week 2 of my diet bet didn't end as well for me as I would have liked. Yesterday I weighed in at -2! Woohoo! Today I weighed in at +/-0 :/ I know I should be happy it's not a gain, but where did my 2lbs go? I mean, I did 2 hours of Hip Hop Abs AND 1:15 on the atationary bike, for 27.3miles. Tue, 25 Feb 2014 21:13:21 EST Disappointed in myself Oh boy, where do I start. I am coming to you all very sad and disappointed in myself. I used to struggle with seasonal depression really bad, but in the past few years, I think because of eating and workout habits, I haven't struggled hardly at all. This year, however, I am really struggling. Winter hit particularly hard this year and, since I live in Michigan, it's only just begun. On top of winter, I have been struggling physically with my health. I started the year off with being sick and ... Sun, 26 Jan 2014 22:02:25 EST #RockYourResolution through a long week... Sorry it's been a few days since I've posted, but it has just been a bit crazy for me lately. Last week I got back on track with Insanity after having not been able to workout, due to being sick, and boy did it kick my butt! I felt like I was all the way back to the beginning, but I kept pushing forward. I made it through the week with Insanity and even added a couple extra bike rides on the stationary bike and a lot of walking. The craziest time in the last week or so has definitely been the... Tue, 14 Jan 2014 09:39:05 EST #RockYourResolution ~ Day 2 Day 2:
I woke up still feeling like poop, but I went downstairs to do Insanity anyways. I tried to do the one I missed from Tuesday, but that one I can only do off of a flash drive and my computer kept freezing up so I decided to skip that particular program and move on to the next one and not look back. I'm not happy that I will be all together skipping a day's program, but at the same time, I have come to peace about it with myself knowing that I, physically, could not do it for those ... Fri, 3 Jan 2014 11:52:38 EST #RockYourResolution ~ Day 1 So as some of you may have seen on my status the other day, I woke up too late on New Year's Eve to do my Insanity before work, so instead I rode 10 miles on the stationary bike and then had a date set with Shaun T that night since I didn't have any other plans. Well, my plans did not go anything as I would have liked. I have been fighting something for a couple weeks now and it hit me hard on Tuesday! I spent all day on the phones at work, not getting up and walking around as much as I norma... Thu, 2 Jan 2014 10:01:24 EST 2014 - Challenge ACCEPTED! Throughout 2013 I used the phrase "Challenge Accepted" more than I ever have and so I decided that my motto for 2014 is going to be "Challenge Accepted!" I'm not going to just think it, but I'm going to say it as well. I want others to know that I may see something as a challenge, but it is still something that I plan to conquer! I will spend this year looking for new things to push myself and returning to old things that I gave up on. I'm done with letting my old mindset determine how I may ... Mon, 30 Dec 2013 12:19:24 EST Insanity 1st 30 Days! Wow, I have completed 30 days of Insanity and will be finishing my "Recovery Week" tomorrow. I am looking forward to continuing on with the next 30 days as well! When I first started, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to do this and complete it. But now that I have been doing it for over 30 days, I am so proud of myself for doing it and I can't imagine quitting now!! It has become a habit to wake up early and work out before going to work...even if that means waking up a lot earlier tha... Fri, 20 Dec 2013 09:46:57 EST 5 Day Clean Eating Challenge So, I've been looking into clean eating for a couple months now, but I was getting overwhelmed every time I found more information. Enter my SparkFriend/Coach and now Facebook friend. :) She invited me to join a group on Facebook to help encourage and support each other on this journey. On top of that, they were going to be doing a 5 day clean eating challenge. Since I was living at a friends house for a short while and not having to feed anyone but me, I decided to give it a shot and it was ... Tue, 12 Nov 2013 15:51:19 EST Weight Tracker: helpful or harmful? Ok, so I have been on this journey for a while and I have list 100lbs. I'm totally proud of that and love seeing that number on my weight tracker, but sometimes I feel like it is distracting me from what I still need to do. I want to lose another 30-40lbs and for some reason, daily being reminded of what I've already lost has ceased to be such a motivator for me. So my question to all of you is this, do I reset my tracker to what I have left to lose? Or do I leave it set to show my total jour... Mon, 21 Oct 2013 22:26:40 EST Sometimes this Journey REQUIRES Self Motivation When I decided to make my motivation board, I thought about what I wanted to gain/achieve from this new found journey that I was on. I want to gain muscle, strength, ambition, excitement, purpose, experience, confidence and a new, better, happier, me. I wanted to also include ways of getting there. Doing things like walking, going to the gym, drinking water and putting in the work are reminders of things I need to do daily to continue on this journey. And lastly, I wanted to remember who I wa... Thu, 17 Oct 2013 17:20:50 EST Challenge Goals I want to make my goals for this challenge something that I can not only do during this challenge, but also be able to continue in some way or another. So, here we go!
1. Drink, Drink, Drink! I love water, but before this challenge started, I had begun slacking on my water intake. So I want to drink half my body weight in ounces EVERY day.
2. Do, and complete, the Extreme plank/burpee Challenge
3. Do the October Tricep challenge (pictured below)
4. Limit myself to 1, or le... Tue, 1 Oct 2013 16:35:55 EST Home after the 11th, and last, wedding of the summer Today, a good friend of my family married a girl I graduated high school with. I was really nervous about the wedding because I knew there would be some HS classmates and I was nervous about seeing them. I have always been big and after HS, I only got bigger. But even though I've lost 100lbs, today was still going to be a battle for me. Today's battle, however, was one against myself. The battle was knowing that, no matter what, whether my classmates recognize me or not and whether they notic... Sat, 28 Sep 2013 23:34:47 EST A hug that brought me to tears... Tonight I saw a friend at church that I haven't seen in a few months. So when I saw her, I went to giver her a hug. She gives amazing hugs so I thought I was pretty prepared for it, but then, the unthinkable happened. When my friend hugged me, she picked me up off the ground. Like, seriously, my feet were at least a foot off the ground! She's about the same height as me and, I'm sure, weighs less than me, but she picked me up off the ground! I instantly began to cry. My brother has picked me ... Sun, 8 Sep 2013 23:34:50 EST What did I just sign up for? Ok, so I know that half of you reading this are probably reading it because you think I've signed up for a race of some sort, but no. I did not sign up for a race, I signed up for something much worse and far more scary. A friend of mine posted on Facebook about looking for a model to draw the face of. She wanted someone whose face had character. Well today she posted that she wasn't having any luck getting anyone to volunteer and so I said "I'm not the face you were looking for, but you can... Tue, 13 Aug 2013 23:53:35 EST Summer Challenge Goals My goals for the summer challenge this year is to get back to running consistently so I can be prepared to run 10 miles by end of August. Running is still difficult for me this year because I get lightheaded a lot when I run still. So running is my biggest goal. I would also like to have my size 10's start to feel lose on me. Sun, 23 Jun 2013 15:41:24 EST Reward Day...a year later...and not the way I planned
This picture was taken in 2011, but is pretty close to the size that I was on that dreaded day in October 2010. A couple friends and I decided we wanted to go to Cedar Point for their Hallowed Weekends and I was super excited. I love Cedar Point and I was looking forward to being able to ride all the rides. Unfortunately, not all the rides are built for people my size. That day, my two friends, James and Katie, and I de...
