CALLALIS's SparkPeople Blog CALLALIS's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community I Heart Spaghetti Squash Yup, you read correctly. I am devoting an entire (albeit short) blog entry to my newly discovered favorite food - spaghetti squash.

My Crossfit group is doing a 1-month Paleo challenge and everyone has raved about spaghetti squash. After preparing it properly for the first time this weekend, I now know why.

Have you tried cauliflower "mashed potatoes?" Well, spaghetti squash with marinara sauce is a far better substitute than cauliflower is for mashed potatoes. Hands dow... Tue, 17 Jan 2012 14:26:55 EST End of the Road I said I would take my time reaching my goals, but this is now getting ridiculous. I started my weightloss journey over the holidays in 2004. I've had a few good years where I have lost a lot of weight, and a few bad years with huge life changes when I just maintained, or gained a few pounds.

This is it - the end of the road. I will reach my ultimate goal by spring of 2012.

There are no more excuses, because I have had:
-A year to adjust to life as a full-time Mark... Wed, 11 Jan 2012 10:28:06 EST Thank you, norovirus! Thank you norovirus!

You made me cancel my Super Bowl party and miss watching most of the game that sent my beloved Steelers into the record books, but it’s okay because you also helped me break through my plateau. Good bye 180s and hello 170s!

I realize being sick isn’t exactly the healthiest way to lose weight, but I’ll take the little 4 pound boost it gave me.

I have achieved goal #1 for 2009 (under 180 by 2/14) and am well on my way to achieving goal#2 (17... Tue, 3 Feb 2009 20:36:06 EST Stuck in a rut! I have been stuck in the biggest rut the past few weeks. I haven't really wanted to work out and have not been sticking to my daily caloric range.

I'm hoping to get my motivation back this week! I'm pretty sure part of the problem has been that I was out of my ADD medicine. Aside from keeping me focused at work, the medicine keeps me on track and kills my constant food cravings and the urge to eat when I'm bored.

So, it's time to crack down and get to that 175 mark!! Tue, 20 Feb 2007 11:00:29 EST Fear not! So it turns out I didn't do as much damage as I thought I had. In fact, I did not do any damage. Wohoo!!! Apparently I didn't eat as badly as I thought I did. And, I must have walked more than I thought.

Now, I just need to get back on track to lose 2.6 pounds by V-Day!

Wed, 7 Feb 2007 13:52:42 EST Fear of the scale... So after a weekend with my friend in Philly, where I indulged in more food and alcohol than I've allowed myself in a very long time, and then a SuperBowl party, I am afraid to get on the scale.

I really, really want to meet my next mini goal - 175 by Valentine's Day - but am afraid I seriously derailed my efforts last weekend.

I'll try to get in a good workout tonight and will face the scale tomorrow. Avoiding it isn't going to make things any better, I suppose. But, I'... Tue, 6 Feb 2007 15:03:07 EST Under 180! So my ticker might still say 180, but that's because it rounds up apparently. Yesterday morning I stepped on the scale and it said 179.6 -- hallelujah! Wohoo!!!

Now I just need to get to 175 by Valentine's Day...

Mon, 29 Jan 2007 21:39:14 EST Not today, apparently So the scale did not hit 179 today. It read 180.6, which is better than my last weigh-in of 180.8, but not really all that satisfying.

I guess I'll have to wait until Monday... hopefully I can stay on track this weekend!

Fri, 26 Jan 2007 14:10:29 EST back on track So, as a Community Team Member, I'm supposed to post on a public blog each week. I'm not really good at this, but I thought I'd give it a shot... here goes :)

Like almost every SP member, I hit a plateau. That plateau started in November... it's now January. While I am glad that I didn't gain weight during the holidays, I'd really like to break through the 180 barrier.

I honestly can't remember the last time I saw anything less than 180 on the scale. I know it was somet... Thu, 25 Jan 2007 23:15:57 EST
