I knew I overdid it yesterday. OH well..it was worth it (see previous blog) & I'm not planning on racing today anyway. I really wanted to post pictures so it's taken some time to get organized.

THURSDAY!!
So I arrived in Little Rock (LR) today..things went well..except for a slight panic attack when they said I'd have to check my carry on bag on my 1st of 3 flights. Sat, 14 Mar 2015 20:07:03 EST Almost Time!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5878859 This time next week I will be on my way to Little Rock for full marathon #3.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't alittle nervous. Because of when I got sick, then burnt out...ALL my really long runs (20+ kms), were broken up over the day so I could get it done. I also napped with ALL of them.

And my 32k a few weekends ago...well...I didn't feel like running it (because my desire to run was GONE). So Saturday afternoon I walked outside (snow/ice roads) for 10km & hopped on th... I was feeling soooo exhausted mentally & physically.

During the week away I did do a few things...easy walking mostly..but nothing strenuous or hard core.

I had a much needed massage early in the week...it'd been a few months (as my regular therapist quit a few months ago). I walked ALOT. I was either on solid ice, ankle breaking lumpy ice or soft snow. I wore my cleats over my shoes & one broke about half way through..not good & at about 10k I could feel blisters forming on both my feet.

I talked myself into running 15k outside & then 10k on the treadmill. Because of the amount of snow we got on Saturday I knew running outside wasn't going to be good/safe..so treadmill it was. I woke up early, had breakie..but was still tired so I had a nap. 12:30 I finally started my 23k run.

WELL...by 6k I was exhausted & started walking more. The 1st week I barely had energy to get out of bed..all I did was sleep..so working out...not happening. I started to stress alittle at the end of the week, as I'd now missed 2 long runs. So I took out my schedule, reworked it & was relieved that I not only have time to get my all my long runs in before the marathon...but I have a week to ease back into my... Fri, 2 Jan 2015 15:30:38 EST Can I get a Whoop Whoop!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5829728 Today I'm starting week 3 of my Les Mills program & cleaner eating. It is going well & I'm noticing a difference on the scale. After week 1 I went down half a pound which put me at 204.5..a little disappointing after what I thought was a clean week. But I hung in there & continued doing what I was doing. Today was weigh in day & I was hoping to be at 203-203.5ish...the scale read 201.5!! I couldn't believe it..so I got off, then back on & yup 201.5!!! Can I get a whoop whoop :) I know 3 pound... I've really cleaned up my eating & I've even had a few NSVs
#1 NSV - I went to a Christmas party on Monday & recieved a gift bag with LOTS of chocolates. I STILL have most of the chocolates in the bag..I normally would've ate the whole bag when I got home. Instead I have 1 or 2 chocolates every night. I must say...way more enjoyable this way :)

#2 NSV - Wedensday night my roommate asked me if I wanted Chinese food or another resturant (that serves... I made it to work & on the way home, I was following the semis doing 70km/h. When semis are going 70 the roads are BAD. So many accidents shut down the hwys & they issued a no travel advisory :( It hasn't eased off either so today I decided to call it a snow day & I'm staying home.

FOOD
B- Oatmeal, 1/2 scoop protein bar, banana, 3-coffee
S- 300g Grapes ... Wed, 26 Nov 2014 23:23:32 EST Day 2 of 90 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5823072 Today I was sad. I got news last night of a death in family. This news comes less than a month since I got news of someone else passing. Both were 42..1 of Heart Attack & 1 of Lung Cancer. Then this morning I realized the date...today would've been my Dad's birthday. So much sadness right now. But I've made a choice. When I got the news of the death last month, I gave up, lost all my umph & just stayed in bed. This time...I'm allowing myself to be sad..but not slip into a depression & I will... And during the last couple of weeks I've been depressed. Last weekend I was so depressed that I knew I needed (& kinda wanted) to go for a run...yet I just couldn't get out of bed to do it...which depressed me more. I did get my long run in the next day..but I'm hating this downward spirl I'm on, especially since Marathon #3 is less than 3 months away. I'm sooo glad I didn't do either. Why, you ask. Because this race ROCKED :)

I arrived on Saturday to get my race package. I checked into my hotel & was very happy with the hotel choice (thank goodness there was a last minute cancellation, so I could get a room). The hotel was .25km from the start/finish line. Wed, 15 Oct 2014 02:02:47 EST freaking out!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5785593 Yesterday I started to freak out...BAD!!! When I train for any event I start having little freak outs around this time...but this time feels different. I'm trying to figure out if it's just a normal, but hightened freakout, my heads playing games or if I really need to not do this marathon. My friend said this is just something I always do...but because it's feels extreme I need to just get it out & hopefully it will ease this feeling of uncertainty.

Here's what's happening....and ... I paid $50 US (shoulda been $60 US, but I found a $10 off coupon). I was sooo excited to be doing this 'fun' run.

We all had signed up for the first wave..8pm. The reason..I haven't been sleeping well due to the heat..and I can't sleep with the fan on (the noise bugs me..weird I know). So when my alarm goes off in the morning, I get up & end up going back to bed to try to sleep abit more. BUT all week I haven't skipped any of my workouts. Instead of Cardio in the morning & ST in the evening...I've done both at night. That's 1.5-2 hrs of wor... I've been mostly just walking for exercise. I did do a 4k on the treadmill on Monday & it went good...but the next day my leg was sore...so back to walking I went.

This week I also contacted my trainer & asked her for a new program. She asked what I wanted to focus on. I was honest & told her I didn't know. I became a Marathoner on Sunday 334

Leading up to the race was not an easy time. I was concerned about my knee holding up & possibly damaging it during the race. WooHoo!!

I however waited until Sunday to attempt a 5k on the treadmill. It went really good. I took it easy & surprisingly I didn't want to stop running..but I also didn't wanna push it, so I stopped. That afternoon I went for a 23km Bike Ride with a friend. What was on the agenda...a 22k...my longest distance to date. I wasn't too worried though..as I've done HM's & it's only another .9km. Turns out I should've been worried...It was a brutal 22km. My hip was bugging me from the beginning & I walked ALOT towards the end. My time 2:50..WHAT!! All my HM's have been under 2:28...why am I so much slower? Ugh.

The worst part..when I got... I just signed up for the Color Me Rad Run!!
I've ALWAYS wanted to do a fun run like this.

Actually there are alot of runs I'd love to do, but because I live 2.5 hours from the city it's to expensive. Most of the races don't have race day package pickup..just day before pickup. So I have to get a hotel room, parking, etc..something I just can't afford for smaller runs. It's a 2-2.5hrs drive (or longer depending on how lost I get) & I will not drive that far once the snow hits. Especially the first snow fall, as the roads are to icy.

2nd - same day package pick up. All the races, no matter how big or small, the package pick up is always the day before. And tha... Mon, 28 Oct 2013 15:16:42 EST I've taken the plunge!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5519863 This morning I signed up for my 1st full marathon. That's right I signed up to run a full freaking marathon, 42.2km, 26.2miles. AHHHHHHH!!! And at this very moment I'm having a slight..ok a BIG freak out.

Woody's face says it all, in how I'm feeling at this moment.

After alittle research, the Calgary Marathon kinda fits into the time frame I was thinking of. It not only sounds like so much fun, ... Mon, 21 Oct 2013 23:06:36 EST Next year I WILL be a marathoner http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5516122 Earlier this year I mentioned on here that a seed was planted & I was thinking about running a full marathon. Due to my commitments, I knew this year was out of the question. It became something I started dreaming about it (the good stuff, not the painful stuff. lol). That was until I ran my HM in August. At some point in during my HM race, I was hurting/struggling & remember thinking..'and this is only a HALF & you want to do a full. There is NO WAY you could EVER do a FULL.' After the race ... Thu, 17 Oct 2013 13:18:08 EST I have 2 choices... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5496016 Whew!! I'm still on the right path!!

Last night while watching tv I wanted a snack. Not because I was hungy, but because it was a new habit I made for myself. I wanted to resist the temptation so I went onto SP & updated my status to..I will not snack, I will not snack, I will NOT snack..then drank some water. It worked...maybe because I put it out there!!?? I felt better & the urge to eat passed. A while later (when I thought I was safe) I walked into the kitchen (to put somethin... Wed, 25 Sep 2013 15:04:22 EST Yes....Again!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5495080 Over the past bit, ok for the past month, I've fallen apart. I know, I know, your thinking, AGAIN!!! Shamefully...Yes...Again.

Since my half marathon a month ago, I've gone down hill. It was slow at first...it started with my right leg being sore after the race. After a few days I tried to go for a walk thinking it would help loosen it up. Well that was a huge mistake. I made it a block & got a stabbing pain from above my hip to just below my knee. Not only was it in painful...I f... Tue, 24 Sep 2013 16:25:39 EST HM Race Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5467409 Saturday I drove to the city early so I could join in on the Friendship Run. It's a 3km easy run with other participants from all of the weekend races. It's a chance to meet other runners, meet the Pace Bunnies, loosen up the muscles & shake off the nerves. It was a nice run & I felt good. Even thou I had the shoes that I've been wearing on my runs, I decided to wear my new shoes (same style/brand I've worn since I started running & have never needed breaking in). They felt great.

... Tue, 27 Aug 2013 00:08:53 EST Bad LSD Run http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5452130 Went for my last LSD today before my race in 2 Weeks. All I can hope..is that my race goes better than that training run.

I shoulda known it wasn't gonna go well when I woke up late...still tired. Not only was I still tired, I was sore from yesterdays work (I stripped, sanded & painted part of my deck for 3 hours). So I got up & forced down some breakfast (weird..never have this problem except for on race day). 1.5 hours later than I normally leave, I set off for a 20km LSD.
... Sun, 11 Aug 2013 20:52:12 EST Storm Pictures http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5435370 For the past few weeks I've mentioned how we've been getting wicked storms. It starts as a light rain, then within minutes, changes to thunder lightening or hail/ice pellets. Thankfully the storms are in the afternoon/evening so I'm able to run in the morning & it hasn't interferred with my HM training. It's definatly motivation to get outta bed & get my run done. lol.

Anyway, yesterday we got hit and we got hit HARD. It broke all of my garden ornaments & my flowers...well...finge... Sat, 27 Jul 2013 15:27:21 EST I feel lighter!!! Ahhh!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5434391 Since writing my last blog (and having my pity party) things have changed for the better.

That night I went for a bike ride with a friend & it was nice, but it was hard & I struggled more than I should've been. I thought I heard something dragging in the front, but I waited until we stopped to take a look. I found out one side of my front brake was on my tire rim the whole time. Ugh. I'm NO bike mechanic. I don't have a clue how to fix anything (including a flat)...I have all the e... Fri, 26 Jul 2013 15:01:39 EST Confession http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5423276 It's time to make a confession...My 26 hasn't been in my training for my upcoming HM. Yes I've been going throu the motions..but my 26 ..not so much. I almost dread running days, especially if I have to run more than 5km (which is all the time now). I cringe when I look at my calendar & just simply don't want to do it. When I was on holidays the only reason I didn't mind going, was because I love the scenery so much. But even then....I really would've rather walked.
... Tue, 16 Jul 2013 17:11:48 EST
