I've thought about it..but I just never got to it. So here's my update...

After my last race I slacked for 10 days. In those 10 days I only went for a walk once & kept saying..tomorrow. Bad I know..especially because I know tomorrow never comes.

The 30 minute walk that I did do...it was to my trainers house to pick up my new program. I've gotta say...I like my new program. I'm running 3 times a week...1x Sprints on TM... Thu, 10 Jul 2014 16:26:48 EST Best Race to date!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5718155 Since my marathon I've been taking it easy. I've been mostly just walking for exercise. I did do a 4k on the treadmill on Monday & it went good...but the next day my leg was sore...so back to walking I went.

This week I also contacted my trainer & asked her for a new program. She asked what I wanted to focus on. I was honest & told her I didn't know. All I know is I NEED to lose weight, I need a schedule for accountability & I'm thinking of doing either a half or a full in August. ... Sat, 14 Jun 2014 23:41:51 EST I am a Marathoner!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5710917 WARNING...VERY, VERY LONG BLOG!!!

Well I did it!! I became a Marathoner on Sunday 334

Leading up to the race was not an easy time. I was concerned about my knee holding up & possibly damaging it during the race. Since my last blog I saw the Chiropractor 3 more times. Twice he did laser on my knee & surprisingly it really seemed to help. And I saw my Massage Therapist for an 1.5 hour massage to work out my legs alittle more. This marathon hasn't been cheap. lo... Wed, 4 Jun 2014 23:34:48 EST Emotional Times http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5694558 After 3 trips last week to the Chiropractor, I finally got the go ahead to ease back into running on Friday!! WooHoo!!

I however waited until Sunday to attempt a 5k on the treadmill. It went really good. I took it easy & surprisingly I didn't want to stop running..but I also didn't wanna push it, so I stopped. That afternoon I went for a 23km Bike Ride with a friend. My knee was really, really sore towards the end. Must've been the hills. So I iced it, took some advil & it was fin... Wed, 14 May 2014 00:20:01 EST Marathon Training Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5689975 My Marathon training has gone not so good. It all started 6 months ago with the bursitis in my hip...then a month later bronchitis & lately my knee & back are gimpy. Plus my run times are soooo slower than ever. 39

I blogged about my last 25km run..it went ok..despite the cold & 18km trash talking. Well on the Monday I woke up to my knee being sore. It passed so I continued on. I started my new program & kept feeling a 'twinge' in my knee...so my trainer & I decided I'... Wed, 7 May 2014 17:45:08 EST Last 2 Training Runs http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5670861 Last week I was sooo excited that I was going to be able to run outside for the first time since Jan 1. What was on the agenda...a 22k...my longest distance to date. I wasn't too worried though..as I've done HM's & it's only another .9km. Turns out I should've been worried...It was a brutal 22km. My hip was bugging me from the beginning & I walked ALOT towards the end. My time 2:50..WHAT!! All my HM's have been under 2:28...why am I so much slower? Ugh.

The worst part..when I got... Sun, 13 Apr 2014 00:40:36 EST Soo Excited http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5664393 I'm sooooooo freaking excited!!!! I just signed up for the Color Me Rad Run!!
I've ALWAYS wanted to do a fun run like this.

Actually there are alot of runs I'd love to do, but because I live 2.5 hours from the city it's to expensive. Most of the races don't have race day package pickup..just day before pickup. So I have to get a hotel room, parking, etc..something I just can't afford for smaller runs. Plus, fun runs would be more fun when you go with friends. But since I go to... I've written lots in my head, I just didn't get it onto the computer.

I'm still plugging away at my marathon training. I was very excited that I made it through my 3rd training program with no injuries or illnesses. I was also able to talk to my trainer about my program. Something I had been wanting to do for awhile, but didn't know how to go about it. She asked how I felt about it & I was very honest. I told her I'm nervous as my... I like that I can just run. I don't have to worry about traffic, wildlife, ice, snow & routes to fill my kms. Don't get me wrong..when the snow is gone...my treadmill will be a dust collector.

It's been a bit of a learning curve though. It's hurting my running http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5584645 So I did something I NEVER thought I'd do...I bought a treadmill. I'm not a fan of dreadmills, as I'd much rather be outside. I don't mind running in the cold, but the roads are so horrible this year. I've been trying to convince my self it's great ST. But it's just getting to hard. I've NEVER seen them this bad. There is only 2 road surfaces.

1. Hard Snow Packed...it's so bumpy & icy. This causes my ankles & feet to be sore after. Tue, 12 Nov 2013 15:01:25 EST Got my Program http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5536619 Last Friday I talked to my old H$ll class teacher, I told her I signed up to run a marathon & she told me I have lots of time. I explained how I have work to do, to get to where I should be & I'd like to lose alittle weight before official training starts. So after all our questions were answered, she decided that she'd do up a starter program. Just to ease me back into ST (as I've completely slacked here, since her class had ended in June) & get my running back up (as I've slacked a bit here... I finally admitted that I can't do this by myself anymore & I need help. How did I come to this honesty? I hopped on the scale this morning.....199!!! Was I surprised? At first Yes. I started making excuses...I had high sodium yesterday, so some of it has to be extra water ....Right...Right???. Then I was brutally honest with myself. I'll be honest...what sold me on the race was 3 things:

1st - The weather was calling for sun until Sunday (race day was Saturday). It's a 2-2.5hrs drive (or longer depending on how lost I get) & I will not drive that far once the snow hits. Due to my commitments, I knew this year was out of the question. It became something I started dreaming about it (the good stuff, not the painful stuff. lol). That was until I ran my HM in August. At some point in during my HM race, I was hurting/struggling & remember thinking..'and this is only a HALF & you want to do a full. There is NO WAY you could EVER do a FULL.' After the race ... I wanted to resist the temptation so I went onto SP & updated my status to..I will not snack, I will not snack, I will NOT snack..then drank some water. It worked...maybe because I put it out there!!?? I felt better & the urge to eat passed. A while later (when I thought I was safe) I walked into the kitchen (to put somethin... I know, I know, your thinking, AGAIN!!! Shamefully...Yes...Again.

Since my half marathon a month ago, I've gone down hill. It was slow at first...it started with my right leg being sore after the race. After a few days I tried to go for a walk thinking it would help loosen it up. Well that was a huge mistake. Tue, 24 Sep 2013 16:25:39 EST HM Race Report http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5467409 Saturday I drove to the city early so I could join in on the Friendship Run. It's a 3km easy run with other participants from all of the weekend races. It's a chance to meet other runners, meet the Pace Bunnies, loosen up the muscles & shake off the nerves. It was a nice run & I felt good. Even thou I had the shoes that I've been wearing on my runs, I decided to wear my new shoes (same style/brand I've worn since I started running & have never needed breaking in). They felt great.

... All I can hope..is that my race goes better than that training run.

I shoulda known it wasn't gonna go well when I woke up late...still tired. Not only was I still tired, I was sore from yesterdays work (I stripped, sanded & painted part of my deck for 3 hours). It starts as a light rain, then within minutes, changes to thunder lightening or hail/ice pellets. Thankfully the storms are in the afternoon/evening so I'm able to run in the morning & it hasn't interferred with my HM training. It's definatly motivation to get outta bed & get my run done. lol.

Anyway, yesterday we got hit and we got hit HARD. It broke all of my garden ornaments & my flowers...well...finge... Fri, 26 Jul 2013 15:01:39 EST Confession http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5423276 It's time to make a confession...My 26 hasn't been in my training for my upcoming HM. Yes I've been going throu the motions..but my 26 ..not so much. I almost dread running days, especially if I have to run more than 5km (which is all the time now). I cringe when I look at my calendar & just simply don't want to do it. When I was on holidays the only reason I didn't mind going, was because I love the scenery so much. Sure enough there was a 10k on Canada Day. Perfect!! I'm training for a HM & my LSD was suppose to be a 11k..so a 10k race will work. Plus I've always wanted to check this small town out. While chatting on the phone with the lady, I was told the 10k was new to the 28th annual event. When I asked about the course, I was told there was 400 runners all together & the 10k had a short steep hill followed by a gradual incline, turn aro... One night I fell asleep on the couch @ 7:15 ish, woke up a half hour later, went to bed right away & slept until my alarm went off. When I woke up I still felt exhausted & it took every thing I had to get up....that's when I finally admitted to myself that maybe I've been pushing to hard. I have to remembe... Mon, 29 Apr 2013 12:04:36 EST Eye Opener http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5327571 A Spark Friend posted a blog & I have to share it. I hope you'll take the few minutes to watch either the short version (3:00) or long version (6:36) & pass it on to other women.

I watched the shorter version, then I immediately watched the longer version. It's a Dove Real Beauty video, it brought tears to my eyes & a lump in my throat. After watching these videos I realized I need to change how I look at myself.

Shorter version

www.wimp.com/forensicartist/... Thu, 18 Apr 2013 12:03:56 EST Week 2 Training http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5322270 I'm very proud with how I've handled this past week. Last week I was saying I needed to find balance if I was going to survive these next few weeks. Well this week something clicked in my head/body.

On the days I was allowed to sleep in, I awoke before my alarm, got up (I didn't drag myself out of bed, I willingly got up) & did my workout that was planned for after work. I like sleeping in..but I'm loving getting the workouts done in the morning and not having to think about my up... It wasn't easy & I'm alittle nervous. I don't know alot about training. Yes, I've trained before, but I usually find a schedule & stick to it to a tee!!!

Last year when I trained for my first triathlon, I used a training schedule from a fitness magazine. In the end I didn't care for the schedule. So this time I decided to try a 6 week program from another magazine. It didn't look to bad before, now it seems like to much. Especi... Sat, 6 Apr 2013 16:06:51 EST Good Things http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5304334 I went back to work yesterday after being off for over a week. What a crazy mess...but by afternoon I realized a few things..1. I really do love my job 2. I'm acually great at what I do 3. I work with people that care about me. Everyone was happy that I was back & made me feel loved. This is so awesome because a few months ago, I was beyond frustrated & wanted to quit after being there almost 7 years. What a complete change around..for the better.

After work I went & paid for my n... Fri, 29 Mar 2013 12:32:08 EST Health & Training http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5301481 I've been sick for over a week now. It all started last Monday in class when I felt weak & nauseous. I figured it was just cause it was early in the morning & I had half a protein bar before class (something I'd never done before) , by noon I figured I had a stomach flu. Every day was worse than the last & Thursday it was hard to breathe & I was in pain from coughing so hard. I finally went to the Dr. She said my symptoms where severe, put me on meds & said to come back if it wasn't getting b... I normally go on Sundays with other friends (there's usually 2-6 of us), but this week I decided to change it up & went today (Saturday) & with only one friend. She asked if I minded her bringing her dog & I was fine with it. Happy accually cause I'm thinking the bears should be waking up soon as it's been milder weather lately. And a dog might be able to sniff out a threat & warn you. Now usually when I go I'm thinking of cougers & looking for tracks. I'... Pretty much the same as last years schedule, but I've added 1 event.
