Uncontrollable diarrhoea probably helped, too. Sun, 23 Nov 2014 02:46:04 EST I have the cardio blahs. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5819269 I don't really like cardio. I never have. I liked boxing, but that was more about the social aspect than the actual activity. I do enjoy the GRIT classes at the gym because they are only 30 minutes but there is only 1 I can go to and I can't make it every week because I pick up Riley every second week. So I tried new things, like BodyAttack and Kickboxing because they fit into my timetable, but I didn't love them. The past 2 weeks I haven't even been able to force myself to go! I'll never mis... I had a plan. I was motivated. I did the opposite! In the end what it came down to was my realisation that celebrating my husbands birthday was more important than a silly challenge. One meal wasn't going to change anything! So I had a glass of wine and promptly felt VERY tipsy. A busy day at work meant that I hadn't eaten very much and since I wasn't planning on drinking I didn't make a point of having a snack. Never mind! We had a lovely d... I did my usual disclaimer to myself. You know the one. The number doesn't define me, it's just one measurement, I could be retaining water, etc. But when I stepped on the scale I saw that I am down 900g! That is 2 pounds for my American friends :)

I am beyond thrilled with this result. I stopped briefly when the temperatures started to drop waaaay below zero in the morning but I'm back into the swing of things again and I'm loving it. 5 am always comes waaaaay too soon, but once I'm at the gym I am a happy camper. I love having my workout done by 6:30 and just being able to come home after work and relax, knowing that I have already done my workout.

Anyway, this m... Wed, 17 Sep 2014 03:50:21 EST Plyo class and a funny kid story http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5780708 I decided to try my first class at my new gym today. It was at 5pm so it was a little tight getting there after work but I made it. It was a 30 minute plyo class, so basically a lot of jumping around. After over 10 months of no cardio at all (I hate doing it by myself and the classes at my last gym weren't my cuppa) I was realy proud of how I managed in the class. Even the trainer said that it might not be the best class to start back with but I stuck it out and finished feeling really proud ... Tue, 16 Sep 2014 02:10:47 EST Our house http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5780014 We bought our first home 3 months ago, and moved in 6 weeks ago. We love our house. It is big, light, warm, and close to the beach (2 minute walk) and the local shopping centre (5 minute drive). We are so happy with our decision to move. My commute has dropped from 30 minutes to 10, and Luke's has halved.

Below are a few pictures. I LOVE being nosy around other peoples houses, and I watch house hunting shows like they are going out of fashion, so I'm excited to be able to show my ... Mon, 15 Sep 2014 01:55:40 EST Up 3 kilos this winter http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5780011 I haven't been blogging much lately. Maintaining is boring, so I kinda stopped. But now I have a really good reason to come back. I put on a winter coat this year. I blame the colder climate. This Aucklander is NOT used to below zero (celcius, that is). I am a cold weather wimp. Give me summer days, warm breezes... In fact just take me back to Fiji. I should also blame the more frequent desserts. And the lack of enthusiam for my gym. I'm at a new gym now and I can't wait to throw myself back ... Mon, 15 Sep 2014 01:35:38 EST Foolproof weight loss http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5730798 Get the flu!

Yep, for the low, low price of getting influenza you can lose weight without any effort at all.

So, Friday I was feeling like rubbish. Saturday I wasn't well, but powered on. Sunday I was so sick I couldn't even get out of bed. Fever, chills, sweats, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, nausea... If if was a flu symptom, I had it. My husband dragged me to the after hours doctor on Sunday evening because he was so worried about me. All the doctor could do for... Wed, 2 Jul 2014 18:57:38 EST My excuse for missing too many workouts in 2 weeks! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5722526 We bought a house!

It all happened so quick and the past fortnight has been a blur of mortgage brokers, lawyers, vendors, builders (for the pre purchase report)... all of whom we met after work and by the time we were finished with them we were starving and the gym was nearly closed. I managed to get to the gym a couple of times, and we tried to make our weekends with my step son as active as possible, but the workout have been lacking.

Back on track this week (I try to ... Sat, 21 Jun 2014 03:07:21 EST My injury http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5711799 So after my class last week I was really gung ho and wanting to get back into my routine. Until the next morning when I woke up and I couldn't move my right arm. It got worse through the day and I think I pulled my pec and or bicep in my right arm. That put me out for a week! I couldn't move my arm at all without pain for nearly a week. I went back to the class on Tuesday (it was feeling better) but did things at my own pace so I wouldn't re injure myself. The pace is pretty quick and I think... Fri, 6 Jun 2014 04:07:38 EST A new class http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5704042 I've known for weeks that I need to add something to my workout routine, but nothing has appealed. I decided that I just had to try something, anything, to get me going. There is a class on Tuesday nights called 'Active'. The vague description didn't put me off so I went along to try it out.

First, I had to get a step. Ick. I clearly wouldn't be using it for decline push ups but I decided to stop being a weights snob and do as I was told as get one. Then I had to get hand weights ... The only 2 I could get to upload (they are massive).

I have been so busy lately with, ya know, getting married. The day after the wedding we went on our honeymoon (a week in Fiji) and since then it has been crazy. But, I'm back and I'm recommitting to blogging and exercising.

My weight is more or less the same as before the wedding. I lost a bit of weight the week of the wedding (stress) and put that exact amount back on in F... Sat, 17 May 2014 22:22:26 EST
