Wed, 14 May 2014 11:30:56 EST Slip-ups Happen! I am actually very familiar with this concept. Probably because I have to do it so often! On several different occasions, I have had setbacks. The main culprit of these setbacks? Dr. Pepper! I absolutely love that stuff even though I know how bad it is for me. It wakes me up in the morning, it keeps me up when I need to stay up, it comforts me when I'm get the picture. But every I am doing well with the water drinking, I will crave Dr. Pepper or I will get myself a Dr. Pepper as ... Fri, 9 May 2014 18:51:53 EST BLC Tracker Blog I have decided to blog about all my success and setbacks here on my page so you can all share with me. Plus, it's just accountability for myself. I will track three things a week:

1. My fitness minutes (so I don't fall off the streak of exercising for 20 minutes, 5 days a week)
2. My points for each challenge (just because)
3. My weight (so I can show you how much I'm losing!)

Starting weight: 227.6

WEEK 1

FITNESS MINUTES
Wednes... Wed, 7 May 2014 04:25:16 EST Fitness test done! I did my fitness test for the first BLC WEC and I have one thing to say: 198

I really didn't do very well. Here are the stats:

Pushups: 8 in one minute. I collapsed at 40 seconds and couldn't do anymore. I REALLY need to work on my upper body strength.

Crunches: 22 in one minute. Not bad, but I can't come up all the way, only halfway. I hope that will change by the end of 6 and 12 weeks when we repeat the test.

Step up test: 50 beats... Sun, 9 Mar 2014 14:46:48 EST I can do this if I actually TRY Okay I will admit it: I am a slacker! As a result of that laziness, I am gaining weight. I have decided to take my health into my own hands (no one else will do it for me!) I have done 3 things:

# 1 - I have written down Spark People's Intermediate Walking Plan. I am going to follow this plan for the next 12 weeks. I will try to get at least 10,000 steps a day.

# 2 I have joined the "Balance Rewards with Steps" program from Walgreens. They reward you with Balance re... Mon, 24 Feb 2014 23:41:45 EST I'm a STREAKER! - Week Two I did pretty well with Week One, even though I gained .8 pounds due to poor eating choices. I worked out for an hour and got in 12,030 steps in throughout the day.
I went to check out Curves (not the program for me by the way). Fri, 3 Jan 2014 21:26:08 EST My motivation At first, my motivation to lose weight was to look good. While that is still partly my goal, I am more inclined to lose weight for the health benefits. I want to not be out of breath after running a few steps. I want to be able to walk a long distance without getting winded. I want to discover new, healthy foods. I want to feel better about myself, physically and mentally. I think my mental health will greatly improve when I finally get down to a healthy weight. I want to be able to wear a cu... Wed, 1 Jan 2014 03:42:35 EST Winter 5% Challenge Commitment I'm listing all the things I want to do to complete this challenge successfully; not just exercise!
1. Fri, 27 Dec 2013 17:45:25 EST Best Laid Plans I am in a Biggest Loser challenge right now. When I started, I was all gung-ho and ready to be better than the best. Now, we are in our 7th week and I have lost all motivation. It's like my brain knows I want to lose weight, but my body will not cooperate. Maybe I'm just not really trying. I really want to lose weight, but I just don't seem to care anymore. I think I'm getting depressed because I don't have a job. I'm worried about our bills and I'm bored all the time. On the plus side, today... Sun, 27 Oct 2013 20:33:14 EST Well..... Okay so I lost my job yesterday AND gained weight this week.

Yesterday, I started a cashier job at a hospital. It was my first possibly permanent job in months, so I was nervous. REALLY nervous. So nervous, I made myself physically ill. They told me to go home and that they would talk over my case with the temp agency.

When the temp agency called me back, they said that the client didn't want me to come back because:
a.) I wasn't OUTGOING enough! (that is not me ... Sat, 19 Oct 2013 15:44:41 EST Finally! I just got a call from one of the temp agencies I applied at and they have a job for me! I start as a cashier at a hospital on Friday. I'm very excited. It's a ten-hour day on my feet, four days a week and then I have three days off. So that's 40 hours and a three day weekend every week! I will also be working during the day so I will still get to spend time with my fiance. I'm so happy right now! I can't wait to start!

<... Wed, 16 Oct 2013 15:50:32 EST Thank you! I just wanted to thank everyone for the help in voting me into one of the most popular blog posts! I was very surprised when I found out this morning. I'm glad to have inspired other people!

On another note, I just called Penmac and I am working tonight from 11pm to 7am. Only an 8-hour shift, but a little money in my pocket! At least I can pay the phone bill. Maybe I will get more work this week and I can pay my other bills as well. It's only $60 for an 8-hour shift. I will be pai... Sun, 13 Oct 2013 11:26:28 EST Running out of titles (lol) I'm not good at putting titles on blogs (as you can see from the above "title"!

I didn't get to my BootCamp video today because I start a new job at French's tonight! I will work from 11PM to 7:15AM so I needed to get some much needed sleep. It's only an 8 hour shift this time. It is Monday - Friday with the weekend off. I will still keep up with the site but I will have to get used to the hours again. I will start planning my meals and snacks to bring with me.

I disco... Mon, 7 Oct 2013 22:20:33 EST Planning I just made a health plan for the week. I'm going to plan my exercise, food and water. Each day I reach all of my goals, I will give myself a star on my calendar. It's a small way to reward myself but I hope seeing the stars will spur me on to earn more and more each day. I'm also going to start the 28-Day Boot Camp Challenge again because I kind of lost my steam last time. I'm hoping having a set plan will help me stick to it. The other challenges I have joined are not going very well becaus... Sat, 5 Oct 2013 23:31:41 EST My journey I joined Spark People a long time ago. I was doing pretty good and then, all of a sudden, I lost the drive to do anything. I guess I was in a bit of a depression. I quit the site and went about my business, gaining weight the whole time. I didn't care about myself so I didn't care about taking care of myself.

Slowly, I came out of my hole (thanks to medication and therapy) and realized what I had done to myself. I was horrified. I got enough resolve to start eating again and maybe ... Fri, 4 Oct 2013 10:49:00 EST Trying to be happy I got a job at Penmac two days ago. It was a really good job. It was factory work and it was really easy. The only problem? It only lasted 2 DAYS! We finished the project we were working on for the company and they decided we weren't needed anymore. They send the next project to a different department. I really am angry and sad at the same time. I was willing to work three 12-hour shift and one 6-hour shift for these people! It would have been good money and it would have really helped us out... Thu, 3 Oct 2013 16:13:06 EST Goals for Leap Into Fall Fitness Challenge 1. Drink 106 ounces of water a day.

2. Exercise for at least 20 minutes a day.

3. Eat at least 4-5 freggies a day.

4. Try at least one new recipe a week.

5. Lose 10 pounds.

These are basically a repeat of my earlier goal posts but they remain the same. I figure if I keep the same goals, it will make it easier to reach them! Mon, 30 Sep 2013 11:46:15 EST Feeling great I started the Biggest Loser Challenge 23 and it is really pushing me to be better. Part of the weekend challenge was to get 50 minutes of fitness in EVERY DAY. That was a bit of shock to me but I figured since it was only for four days, I could do it. I still have to get my walking in today but I walked for 50 minutes on Friday so I know I can do it! I'm going to walk tonight if it is not raining. I should have walked this morning but I had to make breakfast, make lunch, help with dishes, hel... Sat, 28 Sep 2013 15:57:17 EST Today was a good day I got up this morning and did my 2 videos for Bootcamp and then walked for 30 minutes at a brisk pace. I read an article about rewarding yourself today so I decided to make a reward list based on how many pounds I lose at a time. I've got this on my signature link but I made a reward system for myself:

10 pounds lost: New Kindle book
20 pounds lost: New physical book
30 pounds lost: New music CD
40 pounds lost: New computer game
50 pounds lost: New workout s... Tue, 24 Sep 2013 00:10:51 EST REALLY buckling down Bad bad news. Skimping on exercise and bad eating habits has gotten me back up to the weight I was when I started SparkPeople. I have been exercising but not hardcore like I used to do. I have made a few more goals and I plan to follow through from now on!

Goals for next month:

1. Drink 106 ounces of water a day (half my body weight, which is recommended).

2. Work out 4 times a week for 30 minutes each.

3. Strength train 3 times week for 20 minu... Sun, 22 Sep 2013 18:16:30 EST Last day of week one Today is my last day of week one of the 28-Day Boot Camp Workout challenge. I couldn't sleep so I got up early to do my video for the day. I did the core exercises on the video and then I did some lower body strength exercises so I am really feeling it right now! After it gets a little later in the afternoon, I'm going to do 30 minutes of step ups again. It really works out my lower body and it's a lot a fun (if you are playing the right music! Yea Pussycat Dolls!)

Speaking of musi... Sat, 21 Sep 2013 07:24:41 EST Did really well today This is just a quick blog to say that I am really proud of myself. I just did 30 minutes of vigorous step ups on the stairs at my house. I stopped a few times to rest, but I did all 30 minutes. I rewarded myself with a hot shower. Now I feel really awesome and can't wait to do it again.

I have been doing the Bootcamp videos as well. I did a lower body workout along with an arm workout today because I skipped a day, so I did two in the same day. I have my last video for this week t... Fri, 20 Sep 2013 18:54:27 EST It has begun! I just got my invitation to the BLC 23 I'm so excited! Like I said before, it's my first one and I can't wait to get back into exercising. I don't need any incentive to be on this site though! I get on here every day to earn my points and talk with my current and new friends. I absolutely love the fact that site pushes me to be the best I can be; helps me lose weight and lets me meet new people all at the same time! I didn't get a chance to to try the Slow Cooker Chicken Enchiladas but we ar... Wed, 18 Sep 2013 18:16:28 EST New horizons I was going through all my books on my Kindle yesterday and realized I have tons of recipe books and that I have never tried a recipe out of any of them! I am going to remedy that by trying a new recipe once a week, maybe twice a week. I'm going to stop eating out and only make meals at home from now on (pretty easy, considering I have no money to do so!) Anyway, I will try two new recipes a week. So, this week, I will try Slow Cooker Chicken Enchiladas and Ranch Chicken. One from the site an... Tue, 17 Sep 2013 12:52:53 EST Getting ready I am going to stop cheating myself. I have been not taking very good care of myself and because of that, I have gained weight (again). I have some new big challenges starting soon and I need to really commit to both of them (and myself). I will not "vow" or "promise" to do anything differently. That never works for me. I will do my best to do better and I think that is enough for now. I will follow my goal plan and that will help tremendously! I can do this for myself and I WILL!
Mon, 16 Sep 2013 10:19:34 EST Today is a new day I am starting over: both in the job hunt and my healthy lifestyle. I have a new list of S.M.AR.T. goals. I went over this a dozen times to make sure I had it right to match the S.M.A.R.T. list.

1. Drink at least 64 oz of water daily (100 ounces is a bit much for a first time!).
2. Only drink one 12-oz diet soda a week until I lose the craving for it for good.
3. Exercise for 20 minutes 5 days a week.
4. Incorporate more freggies into my diet daily.
5. Get a... Sun, 15 Sep 2013 06:54:13 EST Shucks I left my job last night because they expected me to do something that a manager can do without any training whatsoever. They told me if I didn't pick up the pace, I know where the door is! Anyway, I left and I'm looking for another (hopefully better, i.e. full time) job. I am looking into call centers because I have five years' experience in that. There is a new one that opened up in my hometown that I know is hiring. I'm off to fill out applications! Sat, 14 Sep 2013 15:56:42 EST Starting over I start my new job today and I'm really excited. I can't wait to start! I'm going to start the 28-Day Bootcamp again, from the beginning. on Sunday. I kept skipping videos and going out of order because I started on a Monday instead of a Sunday. So, I will start over on Sunday. I will update on how I'm doing on Day 4 next week. Fri, 13 Sep 2013 13:41:31 EST Bootcamp Day 3 I accidentaly did Day 5 instead of three. OOPS! I'm going to start over next week. From the beginning because I hate going out of order. Today, Coach Nicole and I did a leg workout. WOW! It was intense. Not as intense as the Butt Blasting Workout but still, it was a good workout. I had to get my cardio in but it was too hot, so I tried something new. I have stairs at home, so I did step-ups on the bottom step. I was sweating almost down to the halfway down my shirt when I was ... Thu, 12 Sep 2013 17:40:30 EST Bootcamp Day 2 I actually started this yesterday so I did two videos today so I will be on track. Today's video was really easy as well. It didn't put any strain on my knee but I felt like I was working out at the same time. I skipped the full jumping jacks yesterday and did the modified version. I'm still really enjoying it and I find myself wanting to do the next video the next day....and the next.....and the next. I'm still working on upping my cardio. I really want to walk on a treadmill, instead of wor... Wed, 11 Sep 2013 21:14:28 EST 28-Day Bootcamp Day 1 I started the 28-Day Bootcamp Challenge today. I love Spark People challenges. I want to go through each and every one of them to get the maximum benefit. Anyway, I'm liking this one so far. The videos are pretty easy follow. I just wish I had some dumbbells. I'm going to buy some and a pedometer when I get my first paycheck (after I actually start work). I can't wait! I'm very excited to really start focusing on my health and get rid of this fat once and for all! I will be a hott(er), sexi(e... Tue, 10 Sep 2013 14:18:32 EST Last week vs. This week Last week didn't go so well. I went over my calories a lot; exercised very little and didn't drink enough water. I also drank a 12 pack of Dr. Pepper in (drumroll please) 2 days! Bad DIane. Anyway, this week I plan to do much better. I will drink 100 ounces of water a day and work out for 20 minutes a day 5 days a week. I will also make healthier choices and stay within my calories range all week. Plus, have at least 5 servings of freggies a day! I will update how I did next Sunday! Sun, 8 Sep 2013 17:57:47 EST Goals for Biggest Loser Challenge 1.) Drink 100 oz of water a day.
2.) Limit myself to one glass of soda a day.
3.) Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and veggies a day.
4.) Exercise for 30 minutes 4 times a week.
5.) Strength train 3 times a week.
6.) Track my food and exercise every day and stay within range.
7.) Lose 5 pounds by the end of the month.

Number 2 is really difficult for me. We bought a 12 pack last night and I have 4 left. That is way too much soda in a day. I wil... Fri, 6 Sep 2013 09:00:13 EST Yet another blog I have created one more blog on a different website. I'm going to use that blog to write about my BzzAgent campaigns under one heading and my weight loss journey under another. Also, I will use it to just vent my frustrations and celebrate my milestones and triumphs. I will still post on this blog periodically but feel free to check out my new blog as well!

UPDATE: Okay the site above is now strictly for BzzZAgent. I'm starting a journal un... Wed, 14 Aug 2013 11:16:09 EST Up In Smoke I know this really isn't a big deal to anyone else but it is bothering me. I just went shopping with my fiance and we only got conveinence food. I.E. Hamburger Helper and Ramen Noodles. The thing is, we have enough money to get healthy food. We just didn't. I had a menu all planned out but we didn't follow it. We didn't get a single fruit or veggie. I'm actually really mad about it. Very disappointed in myself for letting it happen. Anyway, we spent all of our money so I'm stuck with it for t... Mon, 12 Aug 2013 17:25:07 EST Yay! A working bike! Well, Brian finally got around to tightening my bike handles up. I'm excited! Not only will this help my knee, I will get lots of exercise as well. I plan to go for a 30-40 minutes bike ride tomorrow and I am also planning to ride as least 10 minutes every day from now on (hopefully time will permit this when I finally get a job).
