BROOKRIVERS's SparkPeople Blog BROOKRIVERS's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Plans for the BLC Break It's been a long time since I posted a blog -- and I've been writing a bunch in my head without getting them down.

Thanks to a BLC challenge -- here I am -- blogging at last!

It's been a wonderful experience being part of BLC21. I have put in more fitness minutes than I would have otherwise -- and I am now jogging 30 minutes straight, having completed training with Spark and following the Run Your Butt Off Program that MRSVK11 introduced me to. I've also added Body P... Mon, 1 Apr 2013 23:04:52 EST Simple Diet Journal #37 -- No Damsel in Distress Quote -- BeFit 90 Days 4 to 9 and Walk/Jog 5k Wk 2 We all know how fast time can go by at times. I can't believe I'm already up to Day 9 of BeFit in 90. It seems to be flying by. Learning -- once again -- that today's decisions impact tomorrow's realities.

The combo of BeFit in 90 with my Run Your Butt Off program is working out great. While there is a cardio portion to BeFit -- for me, it all feels like strength training, toning, and stretching -- which I need! I am still doing modified Burpees and that plank thing (where you... Fri, 25 Jan 2013 17:16:37 EST Simple Diet Journal #36 -- BeFit 90 Days 2 & 3 and Walk/Jog 5k Today is Day 3 of Be Fit in 90 -- a rest day. I'm ready to go further, but have decided to follow the plan as written, just to see. So watched the 20 second training tip about the importance of warming up -- and 'tis done.

I really have been liking it so far. It's very easy to do at home as, so far, all you need is yourself, some space to stretch out and move around -- but not too much, and dumbbells. A friend lent me P90x once and without a pullup bar, it just didn't make sens... Sat, 19 Jan 2013 10:07:32 EST Simple Diet Journal #36 -- BeFit 90 Day One and Walk/Jog 5k How I love Spark!!! I'm always learning about new things that are positive and helpful and health-building!

Really loving my workout plans for BLC21. Completed 3 days of Walk/Jog 5k (and a variant with Run Your Butt Off). I'm really liking it. Today at the gym another woman was jogging next to me. I don't usually "compete" with others at the gym -- but I did find her very motivational. She ran for 30 minutes straight at a 5.0 pace. Having her right there next to me really ga... Thu, 17 Jan 2013 20:04:26 EST Simple Diet Journal #35 -- Walk/Jog 5K and BLC21 starts Tomorrow!!!! Inspired by MRSVK11, I looked into 2 different walk/jog to Run 5K programs. There's the one on Spark -- and then there's the Run Your Butt Off program. I started yesterday and feeling pretty good about it. I like the slow pace build up, because I'm just not interested in getting injured.

I'm doing a combo of 4 minute walking and 1 to 1.5 minutes running. So far so good and I'm feeling really psyched. Forcing myself not to try and jump ahead of the program so that I can experi... No bother -- I have learned -- I have grown -- and I am continuing to stay with the plan, stay on the plan, and enjoy lots and lots of green vegetables (don't know what it is -- but I am so into Kale and spinach and arugula these days -- found a kale I like and that has made a huge difference).

Eventually, the scale will reveal what I feel and see to be true :-)

Another mixed me... I'm going to make a very special, very big, and very chocolate cake -- which will be fun and creative (one of my BLC 21 goals) -- but I don't think I have to elaborate on how that'll be a challenge. 41

So, tonight, as I get myself prepared to bake but not sample, sample, sample -- I decided to put it out there a... A number of Spark friends suggested to give them away -- and, that is what I decided. I am so very glad I did.

I gave away the two larger sizes and kept the current one. Then, I lost a bit more and had to buy a smaller pair -- leaving me with jeans in 2 sizes -- not 4.
