Sat, 16 Feb 2013 20:13:11 EST Ideal Protein Week 4 I lost 5.6lbs this week for a total of 24.6 in 4 weeks! And I'm in the 200s at my clinic! <BR> <BR> WARNING - TMI coming up! I had the heaviest period I have ever had in a very long time (15+ years). Apparently estrogen is stored in fat so when you're breaking down the fat, you're also releasing estrogen. Sat, 2 Feb 2013 22:39:16 EST Ideal Protein Week 3 Finally I have made it to the promised land! The first two and a half weeks were really hard, but now I have more energy and my appetite is less. I lost 4.4 lbs and another 2 inches of my belly. <BR> <BR> I'm still in the learning phase of this program, and this week I learned that all IP products are not created equal. I bought a box of oatmeal, not realizing it was a 'restricted' product (ie. higher in carbs). My daily snack is the vanilla crispy square, which is also restricted. Oops! I'm an accountant, and I'm looking for a new job this summer. So April (tax time) is very hard this year - very busy and very stressful. I have been eating large quantities of chocolate to get me through the day. I caught myself saying that it was ok for April, that I had to do what I had to do to get through it. Sun, 6 Mar 2011 12:53:38 EST Jeans are no longer my enemy All through high school and most of university, all I wore was jeans. As I put on weight, I had to keep going up in size, until finally I couldn't find them in my size. I was wearing size 28 dress pants, but I couldn't squeeze into size 28 jeans. <BR> <BR> I lost 30 pounds last year, and was able to fit into size 26 dress pants and start wearing my size 28 jeans again. I used to be such a couch potato, such a bump on the log. If someone was up, I would ask them to get me a drink, rather than get up and get it myself. I used to sit in front of the TV all evening. <BR> <BR> Today, I found myself walking to someone's office rather than calling them. And not just strolling, but power walking and enjoying it! Plus sized clothes can be expensive, so I have a selection of items from 28 all the way down to 16! I fit into my size 24 pants, although some of them are still a little snug. The bulk of the clothes were size 22 or 2x, but I got them on and now have something concrete to reach towards. <BR> <BR> I'm a professional, and I should be wearing suits or jackets to work, but it was impossible to find them in my size. I was 19, and I moved across the country to Victoria, BC for four months. I had the time of my life, and I was also in the best shape of my life. I biked 125km a week (I had to bike to work - transit didn't go there), ate lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, and had incredible active adventures like kayaking and hiking. <BR> <BR> And I did all of that at 200+ lbs. I was up mid-week, which surprised me as I was doing the same things I was doing the week before, but I kicked it up a notch and was back down by weigh-in day.
