BRANDI1809's SparkPeople Blog BRANDI1809's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community July 21st Really feeling better today & I've enjoyed a lovely egg salad for lunch. Think I'm getting back to normal, well as normal as I can be lol!
The weather however is not good, it's rained most of the day so far & doesn't look as if it's going to brighten up for several days. Fri, 21 Jul 2017 10:02:01 EST July 20th Feeling a little better today but still only managed a small salad at lunchtime. Weighed in tonight & another 3 lb gone. Good loss but mainly because I've not eaten much for 2 days. We'll see how I get on next week lol! Thu, 20 Jul 2017 17:31:58 EST July 19th I've felt really 'pants' today, I think I messed up with my pain meds & missed yesterday morning & didn't realise until halfway through this morning that I'd missed this mornings' as well.Doh! Unfortunately I was so confused I had to wait until this evening before I could get back on track. I can quite understand how poeple have trouble getting off drugs, it's really knocked me for six and apart from half an hour in the middle of the day when I was up to meet our new gardener, I spent the res... Wed, 19 Jul 2017 17:25:55 EST July 18th My knees have been giving me a lot of pain over the last couple of days despite my normal medication. If it carries on like this I'm going to have to get in touch with the Pain Clinic again either that of I'll ask to be referred for surgery again and hope I'm put on the list this time. Tue, 18 Jul 2017 07:40:42 EST July 17th It's been a lovely day today but I've not done too much although I have had to pick off all my bumper crop of Conference pears. Unfortunately all I can do with them is put them in the bin! They've all been rendered inedible because the tree has Rust! Hopefully the treatment it's being given will clear it up for next year.
Mon, 17 Jul 2017 17:18:49 EST July 15th & 16th Had a lovely day yesterday going up to see my Mum, taking her out for lunch then watching the Ladies Wimbledon Final with her then driving back home to prepare a meal for our friends. We were having an 'in door BBQ' as the weather wasn't good enough to be outside. We had chicken drumsticks, low fat burgers, low fat kebabs and some beautiful thick sirloin steaks. We made Slimming World tomato sauce & SW coleslaw, no bread at all just accompanied by a lovely salad.
Our friends brought a lo... Sun, 16 Jul 2017 07:46:22 EST July 14th I was a bit disappointed with a half pound gain on the scales last night but I'll just be more determined next week.
Off to visit my Mum tomorrow, got friends coming over for a meal tomorrow night then on Sunday Pete's brother & SIL are coming down for the day to see his Mum & Dad so we'll go over to see them too.
Busy, busy, busy! Fri, 14 Jul 2017 06:36:12 EST July 13th I'm looking forward to group tonight because the only person who winds me up is not going to be there. She's on the Social team with us but is one of those people who is suffering with joint pain (aren't we all) but she thinks she is worse than anyone else & spends all her time getting people to feel sorry for her and has her hubby running around making her 'comfortable'. Strangely enough she manages to go off for girly weekends drinking with her sister & regularly goes to shows & gigs! There... Thu, 13 Jul 2017 10:58:56 EST July 12th It was a lovely day today after yesterdays rain so I managed to sit in the garden for an hour or so.
Food today was scrambled eggs with salad onion, plum tomatoes & cheese for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch and this was tonight's meal of Cottage pie with swede mash & loads of extra vegetables and beetroot.
Wed, 12 Jul 2017 17:01:56 EST July 11th I don't normally watch Wimbledon but I've just seen our girl get to the semi-final. First time in 39 years, Virginia Wade was the last female to get this far. Let's hope she follows in her footsteps & wins the tournament. Yay

I managed 2 miles in the pool today, first time I've been for 3 weeks. I then came backe & had a lovely salad.
Tue, 11 Jul 2017 14:05:28 EST July 10th

This was the gang when I picked up Pete (with the bike) yesterday. He came 5480th out of 5825 bless him. Mon, 10 Jul 2017 17:19:11 EST July 9th Just heard that Pete has finished his cycle. 89.20 miles in 7 hours 24 minutes. I'm so proud of him, he sounds absolutely spent! Sun, 9 Jul 2017 10:30:25 EST July 8th Dropped my hubby off at the pickup point at midday & waived them off on their way to Cardiff to take part in the 87 mile Velothon ride tomorrow. He should do it in about 7 hours. He's going to be tired when I pick him up!

Sat, 8 Jul 2017 13:57:36 EST July 7th Pete lost 4.5 lbs this week but I only lost one. This is mainly because I've been doing low carb for the past few weeks where as it was Petes' first week. I'm so pleased for him because he was getting fed up with himself, he's been at target for 2 years until this years holiday and still hasn't lost the amount he gained yet. He will do it though.
Fri, 7 Jul 2017 10:42:27 EST July 6th Lost one pound this week which I'm pleased about although I was hoping for a bit more because my home scales yesterday showed a 3lb difference whereas today it was only 1lb. I blame the heat! Thu, 6 Jul 2017 17:32:52 EST July 5th Pete is away tonight so I've got the bungalow to myself again. It's been hot today & I managed to get out in the garden for a couple of hours.
Food has still been on plan & I'm hoping to have lost a couple of pounds at weigh in tomorrow night.
Couldn't post a photo of my food as I'd eaten it before I remembered. lol Wed, 5 Jul 2017 17:14:59 EST July 4th This was our 'Salmon Curry in a Hurry' with some vegetable couscous and Butternut Squash chips we made for our meal last night.

Tonight we had cottage pie with Swede mash, mixed veg, beetroot & Swede chips. ( the chips were a bit over done but still nice!)
Tue, 4 Jul 2017 14:11:41 EST July 3rd I had my lovely scrambled eggs this morning, this salad for lunch & then we're having "Slimming World Salmon Curry in a Hurry" tonight.
Mon, 3 Jul 2017 09:49:53 EST July 2nd
This was my Brunch today, extra low fat sausages, scrambled eggs with bacon & spring onion, Mushrooms, baked beans. Not so sure about the cremated squash though. At least it took us through to our evening meal.

Butternut Squash with a low fat Minced beef mixture, with added veg. Yummy. Sun, 2 Jul 2017 14:51:23 EST July 1st Off out with some friends for a meal this evening, I'll be having a salad for my main but will have a sweet as a treat. Not worried as I'll be straight back on track tomorrow. Sat, 1 Jul 2017 14:13:46 EST June 30th It's Friday & I'm 1/2 a lb down this week which is ok I suppose. Pete wasn't happy because he put on a couple which has caused us to re think and replan for the coming week. For some time he's been eating too many carbs & not enough vegetables. We'll see how we get on this week. Fri, 30 Jun 2017 17:10:12 EST June 29th Took Mother & Father in Law to an appointment with a very nice lady who is dealing with MIL Osteoporosis. I was quite amazed but very pleased that they asked if I would go in with them and I was able to get a few things clarified so I can let Pete know when he comes in. It's always very difficult to know the line between helping and interfering. Thu, 29 Jun 2017 10:45:12 EST June 28th Still dreary weather in the UK at the moment but I'm hoping that it perks up a bit soon as I need to get out in the garden to do some work. Wed, 28 Jun 2017 12:43:42 EST June 27th Pete is away tonight, he's working in Harrogate tomorrow so has taken the opportunity to visit with his brother so they can discuss the situation with their Mum & Dad. It's getting quite bad now and things have got to be put into place to make life easier for them both sooner rather than later. Trouble is, it's not easy persuading them that they need help even though they know they are struggling.
Tue, 27 Jun 2017 15:42:00 EST June 26th I've spent a lot of time today trying to sort out my repeat prescriptions with phone calls between the Doctors Surgery & the Chemist. Hopefully after me making seven phone calls, hopefully I've sorted it out. Unfortunately I won't find out if everything is correct until I go to pick them up tomorrow afternoon.
Meanwhile I went up the garden to pick the cherries off our little tree. It's only 5 ft high and last year we had 5 cherries & the previous and it's first year we had 4. This year ... Mon, 26 Jun 2017 10:47:39 EST June 25th Spoke to Mum today, she thoroughly enjoyed herself yesterday and wasn't too tired after all the travelling. Must admit, I was worn out and fell fast asleep after they all left yesterday afternoon.
It's been a bit miserable today and was actually quite cold this morning so I'm hoping the weather picks back up again soon otherwise my tan will start to fade. Sun, 25 Jun 2017 12:48:57 EST June 24th Had a lovely day so far, my brother & SIL brought my Mum down for a visit. It's quite some time since she was last here so she had lots to check out. She even managed to get down the garden which at 93 was quite a feat. Sat, 24 Jun 2017 12:57:40 EST June 23rd It was very quiet at group last night with not a lot of losses & quite a few gains. I put on 1/2 a pound but I'm pretty sure it's not too bad as I had my B12 injection on Wednesday and I quite often put on more than a pound around that time, plus the heat isn't helping, everyone was saying they had no appitite.
Let's hope for a better result next week. Fri, 23 Jun 2017 09:59:14 EST June 22nd Not holding out much hope for weigh in tonight probably because I've not eaten enough this week. With it being so hot I've not really felt like eating much although I have kept well hydrated. At least it's a bit cooler today which I hope will help me stay on track over the next few days.
I'm really looking forward to the weekend because my brother & SIL are bringing my 93 year old Mum down to us for the day. Although we see her regularly either at her home or my brothers', it's a couple... Thu, 22 Jun 2017 11:15:18 EST June 21st
Our first crop of cherries for this year and the tree is absolutely laden. Woohoo! Wed, 21 Jun 2017 16:40:07 EST June 20th It was a lovely day today, we had a guy come to cut the hedge at the very front of our garden. Pete is only able to do a bit of the face of it but we need someone to do the main bit as it's about 15 feet high & 8 feet deep. It looks great now but I'm glad it only needs doing once a year.

Tue, 20 Jun 2017 16:03:43 EST June 19th Phew it's so hot here in the UK, not as hot as it was in Florida last month but unfortunately not as bearable. At least in Florida we were on holiday & had the pool to jump into if we got too warm. Here in the UK I just feel like a soggy lump of lard! Need to make sure we keep drinking lots. Mon, 19 Jun 2017 07:12:16 EST June 18th It's Fathers Day & once again my thoughts turn to my lovely Dad, not that I don't think about him every day but today I get my photos of him out and look through them again.
Many happy memories.
Sun, 18 Jun 2017 08:19:35 EST June 17th Went to the Garden Center this morning and bought 5 shrubs to put in our new border. What was even better, there was a fast charger there so whilst we were buying the plants we had the car on charge! Brilliant.
Back home and the shrubs were planted, Pete finished building his wood store & I did some weeding & tidying up.
Got Pete's Mum & Dad coming tomorrow for a fathers day lunch, hope they enjoy it. Sat, 17 Jun 2017 17:20:50 EST June 16th It's going to be a quieter weekend than the last one although we've got Pete's Mum & dad coming over for lunch on Sunday for Fathers Day.
The two boys are already chilled out!

Fri, 16 Jun 2017 10:29:42 EST June 15th I won't be doing any gardening today because I've just done the ironing & I'm aching. I might go & sit out for a bit & get some sun on my joints whichmight help.

Weigh in tonight & I may have lost a pound but I'm not holding out much hope.
24 Thu, 15 Jun 2017 08:47:27 EST June 14th Trying to do a bit more in the garden today, every little bit helps.

Couldn't believe the news when I woke up this morning, all those people who have been affected by the high rise flats inferno in London. My thoughts and prayers go out to them.
Wed, 14 Jun 2017 09:38:09 EST June 13th Managed another two miles in the pool today which was amazing considering I did half of it with my eyes closed I was so tired and my B12 injection isn't due until next week!
I decided not to do any gardening either today because I've got a Neighbourhood Watch meeting this evening. Tue, 13 Jun 2017 14:01:18 EST June 12th After changing the bed & doing 3 loads of washing this morning (there's only 2 of us, where does it all come from) I spent a very painful hour & a half in the garden weeding this afternoon. My knees & back are screeming but at least it looks a bit better. Really must find a new gardner soon! Mon, 12 Jun 2017 12:03:30 EST June 10th & 11th We've had a super weekend!
Yesterday was fantastic, we arrived at the Olympic Park,

found the Velodrome & because of my Blue Badge, we were able to park right outside.

Pete & I had provided a... Sun, 11 Jun 2017 16:51:16 EST June 9th I was a bit disappointed with just a half pound loss last night
39
especially when Pete lost another 2 1/2 lbs!
20
We're off to stay with Pete's cousin and her husband for the weekend and we're going down to the Olympic Velodrome so the men can ride the track! Should be really interesting.
309 Fri, 9 Jun 2017 07:22:06 EST June 8th I put my status as "Weigh-in & Voting in the Election tonight, not sure how either will turn out."
I know this isn't the place for the second bit but it is very worrying, If Trump can get to be President of the US enything could happen?????? Thu, 8 Jun 2017 12:46:59 EST June 7th Off to a West Midlands Stop & Search Panel meeting at the Police Station in Birmingham tonight. We really enjoyed the last one as it give us an idea of what other panels are doing across the Midlands. It's our way of giving something back.
Meanwhile, food & water is going well this week so far so I'm keeping my fingers crossed for tomorrow night. Wed, 7 Jun 2017 11:34:04 EST June 5th & 6th Again I had computer problems yesterday, but back to normal today. Tue, 6 Jun 2017 16:44:54 EST June 3rd & 4th Had computer problems yesterday so just about managed to spin the wheel.

Absolutely devastated to wake up this morning to the dreadful news of yet more loss of life and critical injuries in London last night. How anyone in their right minds could deliberately wreak so much havoc on others, it just beggars belief. Sun, 4 Jun 2017 09:02:41 EST June 2nd Thank goodness the scales were kind last night, both Pete & I lost 3.5 lbs. So since we got back from holiday I've lost 14 lbs, not bad over 3 weeks. Onwards & downwards. Fri, 2 Jun 2017 09:50:44 EST June 1st Off to weigh in later on this evening but I'm not very hopeful. I know I've been drinking enough but not sure if I've eaten enough. I've not really been hungry this week and although I've had an 'on plan' main meal each day and had breakfast every day, I've not always had much to eat in the middle of the day. Oh well, in a couple of hours the scales will give their verdict. Thu, 1 Jun 2017 09:24:18 EST May 31st Writing this whilst knowing that I have loads of ironing calling to me from the verranda. I've used lots of excuses so far over the last two days but I really must go and get it done.
Unfortunately I can't use the excuse of the nice weather seducing me out into the garden because it's still very overcast. Oh well..... here goes!
198 Wed, 31 May 2017 08:35:45 EST May 30th

Happy 93rd birthday to my fantastic Mum.
We had a lovely day with her on Saturday and I'm just sorry we can't be with her today. She's a very special, precious lady. Tue, 30 May 2017 14:38:41 EST May 29th Typical Bank Holiday Monday weather so Pete and I have spent our day in the kitchen making Cottage Pie, SW Sausage Casserole, Caribbean Pepperpot Stew and in the slow cooker we have Campfire Stew. We've got chicken marinating in the fridge ready for a Chicken Tikka for our evening meal.

Mon, 29 May 2017 15:05:30 EST
