BRANDI1809's SparkPeople Blog BRANDI1809's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community September 24th So tired, I've just put my 3rd load of washing on & the 2nd load in the dryer and we've been outside cutting down the old damson tree. Obviously Pete has done most of the work, he's used the chainsaw whilst I've been cutting the smaller branches up to go in the garden bin and I've left him outside clearing up whilst I've come back in to sortthe washing out.

We had a lovely time last night with our lovely neighbours, the lasagne we cooked was especially good. I've started adding a f... Sun, 24 Sep 2017 10:53:08 EST September 23rd Had a brilliant day at the Cycle show yesterday although Pete has seen a bike that he'd love to own........ we'll have to see.

Got the neighbours coming over for a meal tonight and we're doing a Lasagne but instead of pasta we're using Butternut Squash sheets. Yummy. Sat, 23 Sep 2017 12:22:54 EST September 22nd One pound ON! How did that happen?
It's possible it's an amalgamation of the weather turning colder and the fact that because it was cold I had to move into wearing warmer clothes. At least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it especially as I've done so much more in the pool this week. Fri, 22 Sep 2017 15:18:15 EST September 21st Just over 2 miles in the pool today so really aching now. Not looking forward to the scales tonight although we've only had one meal off plan for our anniversary, my home scales look like it could be a 2lb gain although I'm hoping not. Thu, 21 Sep 2017 12:44:04 EST September 20th Did just over a mile in the pool today so I'm feeling tired but quite pleased that I made the effort to go. Wed, 20 Sep 2017 16:12:11 EST September 19th No swimming today as it was the gardeners' day. She only does 4 hours every two weeks and because she's recently taken over from our previous (not so good) person, she's working her socks off knocking bits of the garden into shape.
Taking our neighbour over to meet Petes' Mum & Dad this evening. Michele used to be a Care worker & has agreed to give them an idea of what could be available/what they possibly need before we get an Agency assessment. We've already managed to get them to acce... Tue, 19 Sep 2017 11:32:07 EST September 18th 24 years ago today at 1 o'clock we made our vows to each other in front of my lovely Dad, our families and friends. 24 years on and I would still make those same vows. Looking forward to celebrating our Silver Anniversary next year and all the future anniversaries together.

Mon, 18 Sep 2017 17:08:55 EST September 17th Pete & I are going out for a meal tonight to celebrate our wedding Anniversary which is tomorrow. Can't believe that it'll be 24 years and next year will be our Silver Wedding! Sun, 17 Sep 2017 12:38:50 EST September 16th Because the weather is pretty miserable today Pete and I are having a TV catch up day. At the moment we're on 'White Collar', love this programme.

We made 'Slimming World' Thai Green Curry from scratch tonight. It was absolutely superb and thankfully, there's enough for us to have on another two occasions.

Sat, 16 Sep 2017 11:46:23 EST September 15th 2 1/2 lbs Yay! I was so relieved to see that on the scales last night after a couple of weeks of small gains. All I can put it down to is the 2 1/2 miles I've done in the pool this week, everything else has been as normal. I'll definitely keep up the swimming/walking in the water at least once a week. Fri, 15 Sep 2017 07:57:46 EST September 14th Did another 1 1/2 miles in the pool today but it was still quite a chore & I was worn out by the time I finished.
It's weigh in again tonight and I will be gutted if I've not lost any this week. Thu, 14 Sep 2017 13:00:04 EST September 13th Lovely sunny day with intermittent showers here in the UK West Midlands. Managed to do all the ironing and Pete has told me that we haven't used any energy from the 'Grid' even after using the induction hob to cook our evening meal. I like these solar panels. Wed, 13 Sep 2017 15:35:19 EST September 12th Actually made it to the pool today but only managed a mile although that wasn't too bad considering I've not been for a few weeks.
Feeling quite tired tonight so quite pleased that the Neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators meeting was cancelled although we didn't find out until after we'd all turned up at the venue! Tue, 12 Sep 2017 16:35:28 EST September 11th Been a quiet day with Pete back at work after his weeks holiday. Must admit after all the comings & goings of last week it's been nice to be on my own. Mon, 11 Sep 2017 16:40:27 EST September 9th & 10th Had a busy day yesterday, went up to see Mum for a few hours then back home to wash & change and went out to our friends' 25th Wedding Anniversary 'do'. Had a brilliant time and managed to get a photo of the four of us which we can compare to one taken of us 7 years ago.

The fact that... Sun, 10 Sep 2017 14:50:31 EST September 8th I was a bit fed up last night after another one and a half pound gain! I have no idea why for the last few weeks I've gained, I'm sticking to plan and even reduced portion size. I'm just hoping that once I get back to swimming again the scales will start falling again.
I WILL NOT BE BEATEN! Fri, 8 Sep 2017 16:18:51 EST September 7th The scaffolding has gone and we're generating power! Yay. Wonder how long it will take before Pete stops going to check the readings.Lol.
Not looking forward to weigh in tonight, we're having to go to the early session to get weighed because we have our Stop & Search Scrutiny Panel meeting at the Police Station at 6.30 so won't be able to make the 7.30 group. We will however have to go back after our meeting, to help clear up as our Social Team are 'dropping like flies' & there's no-one ... Thu, 7 Sep 2017 07:50:40 EST September 6th Well they've finished the installation of our solar panels & my car is now on charge drawing most of the power from the roof. Yay. Result.
It's also been an exciting day because we've booked our friends villa in Florida & booked our flights for May next year.
I'm EXCITED
334 Wed, 6 Sep 2017 12:22:16 EST September 5th Good job we got up early this morning, I fed the cats as usual at 6am (Pete normally goes to work at this time) then at 7am I woke Pete & said we should get up as we needed to clear out a cupboard ready for the Installers. Just as we were getting dressed I spotted a guy coming up the steps to our front door ..... it was 7.20am!!!! It's now 5.20pm, they're still working & will be for another couple of hours. Hopefully they should be finished half way through tomorrow & then we'll be self suffi... Tue, 5 Sep 2017 12:49:29 EST September 4th The scaffolding has gone up round the bungalow ready for the Solar panel fitting tomorrow.

They've already knocked one of the ridge tiles loose, just hope nothing else goes wrong. Mon, 4 Sep 2017 11:14:23 EST September 3rd It's been a misserly drizzly day in the West Midlands so no gardening today. Pete was next door helping build a roof on their gazebo over the hot tub. They've told us we can use it whilst they're away during October, so I'm sure we'll give it a go a couple of times.
It's been quite cold so we actually had to resort to switching the central heating on. Brrrr! Looks like the summer may be over :-{ Sun, 3 Sep 2017 13:28:13 EST September 2nd Been another busy day today, we've been working in the garden again. Pete is cutting down the huge dead damson tree & I was chopping it up & burning it in the old firepit.
Tonight we've got the neighbours coming over to sit round the newer firepit on the patio. Should be another good evening. Sat, 2 Sep 2017 14:10:14 EST September 1st Been a very busy day, no time to blog. Will try better tomorrow. Fri, 1 Sep 2017 15:01:24 EST August 31st I just couldn't wake up this morning and even though I had my B12 yesterday it seems to be taking it's time working it's magic.
I've not got much hope in the scales tonight, I've not managed to do any swimming this week so as long as I don't have another gain I'll be happy. It shouldn't show a gain because I've been right on plan and not cheated at all. Thu, 31 Aug 2017 11:30:52 EST August 30th Went to the Nurse today for my B12 injection and she checked my blood pressure and it was perfect. Yay!
Hopefully I'm going to go swimming tomorrow & then weigh in tomorrow night. Wed, 30 Aug 2017 16:57:46 EST August 29th Can't wait until tomorrow when I get my B12 injection again. It's taken me 2 hours to do my Sparking so far because I keep dropping off to sleep sat in my comfortable chair. Tue, 29 Aug 2017 12:41:43 EST August 28th Enjoyed my Bank Holiday Monday, did some weeding in the garden & then sat in the sun for a bit. Pete scarified the lawn, (first time since we moved in 6 years ago!) you should have seen the amount of stuff that came out.
We made a lovely Chicken Tikka Masala with boiled rice with veg. Yum
Mon, 28 Aug 2017 17:23:51 EST August 27th It was a lovely day today and even managed to sit out in the sun for an hour this morning.
Went over to the In-laws for a couple of hours this afternoon because Petes brother, SIL & neice were down for a visit. Whilst there I decided to look in the fridge after having a worrying thought about 'use by dates' on food. We found a open pot of egg mayonnaise that was 3 weeks old! Ilater found some cakes which had a sell by date of July! Just another problem we'll have to tackle sooner rather ... Sun, 27 Aug 2017 17:10:20 EST August 26th We've had a good day working in the garden and got loads cleared so I feel quite proud of our hard work.
I started the day off with a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs, spinach, red onion and grated cheese. Nothing wrong with that I hear you say, but I had some heinz baked beans left over so I mixed them into the eggs, sounds yucky, didn't look too good, but boy was it tasty..... and of course very healthy.

<img src=" Sat, 26 Aug 2017 17:48:37 EST August 25th Well the scales were very unfriendly last night with a 2 lb gain but I'm not going to let it get me down. I have a feeling that it might be because I'm due for my B12 injection next week & my metabolism is always very low the week before.
Had another lovely salad this lunchtime after spending the morning with my In-Laws as the Senior Physiotherapist made her second visit. We now have an emergency care-line alarm installed after her visit last week which is a load off our minds. At least... Fri, 25 Aug 2017 10:07:00 EST August 24th Still didn't feel like breakfast but managed another small salad for lunch. Thursday evening meal is always late because of our group session which by the time we've helped clear up afterwards it's 9.30 - 9.45pm.
Not sure I'm going to like what the scales say tonight, my scales at home are showing a 4lb gain! Weill see what the damage is later. Thu, 24 Aug 2017 12:19:11 EST August 23rd Didn't feel too good this morning so I'm afraid I missed breakfast.... I know it's not good to miss meals but I just couldn't face any food first thing. I felt a bit better by 1 o'clock so made myself a good chicken salad. Must admit though I'm going to have to force myself to eat my main meal tonight unless something changes soon. Wed, 23 Aug 2017 12:15:57 EST August 22nd Scrambled eggs again for breakfast, chicken salad for lunch & sirloin steak with mushrooms onions, corn cob & Slimming World Chips for evening meal. Now I'm tucking into my bowl of fruit with quark.Another good day on plan. Tue, 22 Aug 2017 15:54:28 EST August 21st Had my scrambled eggs this morning with onion & spinach.
Lunch was a lovely salad and tonight we're having Salmon Curry.
Food is under control this week. Mon, 21 Aug 2017 11:19:00 EST August 20th Had another good day for food with Brunch consisting of Slimming World homefries, skinless low fat sausage patties, baked beans and scrambled eggs with bacon, onion, spinach and cheese.

Worked in the garden a bit & did 3 loads of washing & ironing.

That took us through to our evening meal when we've had Chicken in Oyster sauce with carrot spaghetti instead of noodles. <... Sun, 20 Aug 2017 16:13:48 EST August 19th Had a lovely day today, we drove up to see my Mum, went out for lunch & then went over to my Brother & SIL's and spent a couple of hours with them. Then back home after dropping Mum home. All in all, a nice end to a tough week.

Sat, 19 Aug 2017 16:26:53 EST August 18th It's been another busy old day, with the morning spent at the In-Laws' and an assessment by a Physiotherapist. Hopefully things are now moving in the right direction. Fri, 18 Aug 2017 14:31:56 EST August 17th One pound loss this week so I'm happy enough with that. It was a good and lively group tonight with lots of ideas for new recipes. I feel a planning session coming on with a mass cook out on Sunday. Thu, 17 Aug 2017 17:12:43 EST August 16th Took MIL & FIL to the hospital for MILs appointment this morning and although we didn't learn anything new, at least I've got a clearer idea of what is going on. I've also got them to admit to the Consultant that they need help at home. They've got a Physiotherapist going to their house on Friday so I've offered to be there with them and they've agreed it's a good idea so hopefully we might be able to get another home assessment organised. All in all it was a successful outing. Wed, 16 Aug 2017 14:24:39 EST August 15th I wasn't able to go to the pool today as it was the morning for our new gardener to come. She's done an awful lot of weeding.and clearing out of the front beds, not bad for only her second visit.
Apart from that, I managed to get all my ironing done........ such an exciting life I lead. Tue, 15 Aug 2017 12:49:17 EST August 14th I didn't get chance to post much over the last couple of days, Saturday because we were getting the bungalow ready for Pete's relatives & Sunday because they were here until lunchtime then we were next door whilst Pete helped build a gazebo over their jaccuzi. We were going to spend sometime in the pool late on but in the end we were so tired we did a raincheck and had an early night.
News from Pete's Mom & Dad is not particularly good, she had another fall on Saturday morning & his Dad ... Mon, 14 Aug 2017 11:43:25 EST August 13th We had a lovely time last night and it's been good today. Just off next door (at 9.30pm) to sit in their jacuzzi & maybe look for the meteors. Will write properly tomorrow. Sun, 13 Aug 2017 16:31:20 EST August 12th Been busy tidying the bungalow from top to bottom today because Pete's Aunt & Uncle are going to see his Mom & Dad, we're going to take a Chinese Takeaway round later ( I know, that's not going to help our weight loss but it's the easiest option). Then later they are coming to stay the night with us. I think they will find a big difference since the last time they saw each other. Sat, 12 Aug 2017 10:58:29 EST August 11th I'm a bit miffed having put on half a pound this week...... how can that happen when I've stuck to the plan and written down everything I've eaten.????***** Just got to stick at it.

Last nights group was amazing, there were 4 of us nominated for Woman of the Year and believe it or not there was only one vote between us allin the end & our younger member Beccy won. Here's a photo of us all with our lovely Consultant Carole in the middle.

<img src="http://photosaws.sparkp... Fri, 11 Aug 2017 16:24:26 EST August 10th I've been totally 'On Plan' (as usual) all week, actually going back to writing everything down, measuring everyrhing. It's been quite good seeing everything on paper however according to our scale there's been no change but I'll wait to see what the group scales say. It's a special night at group this week, it's our 'Woman of the Year'. Once again I'm one of the ones nominated and I had said that I'd never go through it again, it takes a lot out of you 'bearing your soul' to a room full of p... Thu, 10 Aug 2017 11:01:35 EST August 9th A good day for food, our evening meal today was Slimming World Campfire Stew with added sweetcorn, pasta and beetroot. Very nice.
Wed, 9 Aug 2017 17:17:42 EST August 8th Went to the pool today and did a mile and a half. Tue, 8 Aug 2017 17:32:40 EST August 7th Continuing to log all my food and not spotted any surprises as yet. Looking forward to tonights meal, we're having the other half of the Salmon Curry we made the other week, probably have it with boiled rice.

A first for me today, my new cropped jeggings arrived. Never had a pair before & never, ever worn white trousers.

<img src=" Mon, 7 Aug 2017 12:14:33 EST August 6th Meals today........

Brunch was scrambled egg with red onion, bacon and my daily portion of low fat cheese, baked beans, 2 Slimming World Chorizo Style Sausages and Slimming World style homefries.

Although this seems a huge meal it did have to carry us through to this evenings meal which was home-made Cajun Chicken with vegetable rice.
<img src="http://photosaws.sparkpeo... Sun, 6 Aug 2017 14:43:16 EST August 4th & 5th Pete came home from work yesterday & as usual we had a quick 'on plan' meal then went out to do the weekly shopping. We got back home & decided to sit outside, get the fire pit going and invite the neighbours over. It got to midnight & we called it a day & I suddenly realised I'd only done half my Sparking for the day including my blog & spinning the wheels. Doh! Luckily it seems they've kept my Spark streak of 1028 days.

Today we met up with Pete's brother over at his parents. We'... Sat, 5 Aug 2017 16:48:49 EST
