BRANDI1809's SparkPeople Blog BRANDI1809's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community June 24th I'm a bit disappointed that I only maintained this week because although we'd been out for a couple of meals we've been on plan the rest of the time. Oh well, here's to next week. Fri, 24 Jun 2016 10:30:22 EST June 23rd Not feeling confident about the scales tonight. We've been out for a couple of meals at the weekend and also had a few drinks at a party on Saturday. It always amazes me when people turn up at group & say 'oh I've been eating rubbish all week' and then they lose 3 or 4 lbs! How does that work then?
Please keep your fingers crossed for me. Thu, 23 Jun 2016 12:14:03 EST June 22nd We've organised our herbs and spices better because with cooking most of our meals from scratch these days many more pots were needed.

Wed, 22 Jun 2016 11:04:27 EST June 21st I've just woken up after falling into a really deep sleep in the chair this afternoon and I feel like the 'Wrath of God' as they say. I think I've had something lurking around because I've not felt right for a couple of days. Managed to do 2 miles in the pool today though so all is not lost. Tue, 21 Jun 2016 14:19:41 EST June 20th Pete has got the week off and already today has taken down our old shed & cleared out a load of rubble & rubbish left behind it by the previous owners of our bungalow. He was going to build another shed from scratch but now the old one has gone it makes the garden look so much better, so there will probably be a change of plan maybe hiding a shed down the side of the garage instead. Mon, 20 Jun 2016 09:41:42 EST June 19th It's Fathers Day here in the UK so I've been thinking even more about my dear Dad today.

Sun, 19 Jun 2016 17:02:42 EST June 17th I DID IT!

I only lost another half a pound but it was enough. Fri, 17 Jun 2016 16:52:05 EST June 16th I'm not going to say what I'm hoping to see tonight on the scales because I keep jinxing myself. At least I managed to do a fantastic 210 lengths in the pool today, that's a personal best for me.. Thu, 16 Jun 2016 12:41:38 EST June 15th Had a homemade Sweet potato & veg curry, boiled rice & extra vegetables tonight, It was gorgeous.

Wed, 15 Jun 2016 16:33:18 EST June 14th Went to the pool again today but only did 2 1/2 miles, at least I kept out of the thunderstorm. However although it had eased up, after drying my hair I went outside & it was still raining! Good job I'm having my hair done tomorrow. Tue, 14 Jun 2016 13:51:12 EST June 13th It's another miserable drizzly day but very warm. I keep thinking I should be doing the ironing but I'm already steaming hot.
I've been watching some of the coverage of the Queen's 90th Birthday celebrations over the weekend. She is amazing & I'm very proud to have her as our Queen. My Mum is 92 and even though she's relatively independent there is no way she could complete the schedule the Queen does. Fantastic woman. Mon, 13 Jun 2016 08:57:12 EST June 12th It's been a pretty horrible day weatherwise today, but I got all the washing done, changed the bed & cooked a lovely healthy breakfast/brunch of omelette, home fries, bbq baked beans and a mixture of onions, bacon & mushrooms.

Then this evening we had Chicken in Oyster Sauce with noodles an loads of lovely veg, bamboo shoots and water chestnuts.

I love this eating load... Sun, 12 Jun 2016 15:56:55 EST June 11th Had a lovely day, we took Pete's Mum & Dad to meet up with Pete's Aunt, Uncle & Cousin for a meal. They live in Yorkshire & we live in the Midlands so we met up half way. We had a lovely pub meal and afterwards I linked up with Pete's Aunt & Uncle in Canada via Facebook Messenger. It was a little difficult because of all the background noise but I think everyone was happy that we'd been able to connect and chat to them.. Sat, 11 Jun 2016 17:18:28 EST June 10th I was a little disappointed when the scales showed a loss of only half a pound last night so I suppose I'll have to wait until next week to get my 6 1/2 stone award.
It was our Slimming World Man of the Year at group last night and my wonderful hubby was one of the runners up. I was so very proud of what he had to say, in fact all the men were inspirational and it was a very close run thing. Personally, and I'm not biased in any way, but the guy who got MOTY only won because he has seve... Fri, 10 Jun 2016 09:28:29 EST June 9th Feeling tired, worn out, but good all at the same time. I've just done 200 lengths swimming/walking in the pool. That's just over 3 miles and I don't do that much very often. I just hope the scales are kind tonight. I only need to lose one pound to get my 2 1/2 stone award so I'm keeping my fingers toes and everything else crossed. Thu, 9 Jun 2016 11:28:26 EST June 8th The meal I had last night was sooooo tasty and gorgeous so could I top it with tonight's meal?????
Well not quite, but almost.

Spag, bol. cooked from scratch with loads & loads of extra vegetables.
I've enjoyed cooking for myself but don't want to do it too often and I'll be glad when Pete is home tomorrow. Wed, 8 Jun 2016 13:58:22 EST June 7th Pete went off to work this morning and won't be back until Thursday evening. Missing him already, but I did make the most gorgeous Tiger Prawn in Oyster sauce with loads of veg & a few noodles. It was soooooo tasty. I'm now spending my evening catching up on loads of 'The Closer' series.

Tue, 7 Jun 2016 16:20:31 EST June 6th Another fantastic sunny day & I'm going to make the most of it. Mon, 6 Jun 2016 08:15:31 EST June 5th Yesterday we made Carribean Pepperpot Stew enough for 3 meals each for pete and I.

Today we had it with mushroom and sweetcorn fried rice. It was soooooo good, I still can't believe it's all free and so healthy. I love Slimming World recipes.
Sun, 5 Jun 2016 16:33:59 EST June 4th I was sitting out in the garden enjoying the afternoon sun yesterday when I heard the phone ringing in the house. Annoyingly it just stopped ringing as I got to it but I checked call history & found it was my Mum. Normally she doesn't ring until the evening but It turned out that my 92 year old mother had been taking a bowl of dead flowers out to the garden bin when she fell backwards onto the door step and couldn't get up. Luckily she was wearing her 'care' button on her wrist so was able to... Sat, 4 Jun 2016 12:15:13 EST June 3rd Feeling great after a 1 1/2lb loss on the scales last night which brings my total loss so far to 90lbs only 6 more pounds and I'll be in Onederland. Yay!
Going round to our new neighbours for the evening going to meet their puppy which is huge, can't remember the breed but she already stands over 6ft when on her hind legs! I'll try to take a photo & post it tomorrow. Fri, 3 Jun 2016 14:21:48 EST June 2nd I can't wait to get on the scale tonight and I'll be holding my breath. I should show a loss (my scales at home show one) but you never know.
It's nominations for Man of the Year at group tonight but Pete has already said he's not interested in it. Thu, 2 Jun 2016 13:01:14 EST June 1st A new month and another step towards the new me. So far I'm 6 stone 4 1/2lbs down, I was hoping to have lost the full 7lbs in May to take me to 6 1/2 stone but hey I'll get there. Wed, 1 Jun 2016 16:08:38 EST May 31st A quiet day today, I didn't fancy going to the pool today. maybe I'll go tomorrow. Instead I turned down the hems on two pairs of Pete's trousers. Anybody who knows me would know that I HATE sewing.
198 Tue, 31 May 2016 11:29:17 EST May 30th I spoke to my Mum this morning to wish her a happy 92nd birthday, my brother & SIL were taking her out to lunch & then on to my nephews. They sent me a photo.

I ended up doing the ironing today because Pete finished off jet washing the drive.Later we had a lovely meal of chicken in oyster sauce, noodles & loads of stir-fried veg.

<img src="http://photosaws.sparkpeople.... Mon, 30 May 2016 17:05:04 EST May 29th Had a nice day doing a little bit of planning what we're going to do in the garden. We delivered a letter out to our Neighbourhood Watch Group. I did a load of washing which I'll have to iron on Tuesday. I won't do it tomorrow because Pete will be at home due to it being Bank Holiday Monday. We also got time to sit in the sun as well. Roll on tomorrow, I hope the weather holds. Sun, 29 May 2016 17:12:50 EST May 28th Had a lovely day up visiting with my Mum. We picked her up and took her over to my brother & SIL's for lunch. It's Mum;s 92nd birthday on Monday and I took this photo today. She doesn't look bad for 92.

Sat, 28 May 2016 16:50:14 EST May 27th I was quite disappointed with just 1/2 lb loss last night, I had thought that I should have lost more but at least it's a loss. I'm going to do an SAS (Slimmers Against Sabotage) log as from Monday, basically it's a case of writing down exactly what goes into my mouth whether good or bad, weighed or estimated, planned or unplanned. Never done it before but others in our SW group have found it works. As I said I'll start it Monday because we're going to my brothers for lunch tomorrow, picking ... Fri, 27 May 2016 09:38:52 EST May 26th 3 miles in the pool today which I'm quite proud of, all I've got to do is get weighed now. Keep your fingers crossed that the scales are kind tonight. Thu, 26 May 2016 13:13:00 EST May 25th I was late getting to the pool today because on the way my car started flashing '30 miles left' & the petrol symbol was flashing. I went to the closest petrol station which happened to be Morrisons, opened my door & flicked open the petrol cap and was just about to get out of the car & suddenly realised I don't carry my wallet when I go swimming! Oooops! Luckily I rifled through my sports bag & managed to find £7 in pound coins. Phew!
198
I very carefully pressed the tr... Wed, 25 May 2016 13:05:28 EST May 24th Had my first appointment for physio on my shoulder this morning with a very nice man. He gave me some exercises to do & lots of very useful tips. All I have to do now is make sure I follow his rules. Tue, 24 May 2016 10:27:51 EST May 23rd Thought we were going to have a sunny afternoon today so I decided that I would sit in the garden for a while............ and then the dark clouds rolled in. I'm now sitting in my lounge watching the birds playing on the bird feeder. It's not rained, yet but I don't think it will be long before it does. Hey ho! Mon, 23 May 2016 09:00:49 EST May 22nd The meal last night was a shock, steak, samphire & courgettes on lettuce. It looked good in the latest Slimming World magazine and even in the photo we took.

However, the recipe says that you cook the courgettes in the frying pan for 5 mins then place in a serving dish with lettuce, fry the strips of steak ( obviously using Fry lite or one calorie spray) & add to the dish. You the... Sun, 22 May 2016 11:26:46 EST May 21st On the spur of the moment we asked our new neighbours round for a drink this evening which will be nice but I suddenly thought, we don't do 'nibbles' anymore, hope they don't mind.
I'm now rushing round dusting & cleaning (doesn't really need much but......) and getting my Sparking out of the way.
We're making Beef with Samphire (our latest favourite veg) & courgettes for our evening meal & I can't wait. I'll try to remember to take a picture to post tomorrow. Sat, 21 May 2016 12:06:41 EST May 20th A little disappointedon staying the same on the scales last night but I suppose it will show up next week. We have changed our meals over the last week reducing the 'Free Foods on our plates, rice or pasta or potato, & meat, sauce & non 'Speed' veg. and increasing to almost half the plate, the 'Speed food', carrots, cauliflower, peppers etc. Hopefully this will give us a boost although it only seems to have helped Pete so far. Fri, 20 May 2016 10:05:45 EST May 19th Keeping my fingers crossed for weigh in tonight, we have been so 'on plan' this week but our scales at home aren't being too kind and according to them I may have only lost one pound. We'll see. Thu, 19 May 2016 12:49:29 EST May 18th Did 2 miles in the pool today, I was late getting there & didn't want to stay once the kids started coming in.
At least I'm feeling a bit brighter today even though the weather hasn't been good.

We had the second half of the chicken tikka masala with boiled rice and a stir fry of mushrooms, baby sweetcorn & leeks, we also griddled some peppers.
Wed, 18 May 2016 14:26:34 EST May 17th Went for my first appointment regarding my knees. Unfortunately the hospitals scales weigh 4lbs heavier than Slimming World & the Doctors so I'm still not within the correct BMI by 1.
Am I disappointed? Yes. But the Doc was so impressed with my loss in the past year that rather than refuse to put me on the list & send me back to my Doctor, he has referred me on to the Consultant I saw 3 years ago which will give me a couple of weeks to lose some more weight to bring me within the range. ... Tue, 17 May 2016 09:53:27 EST May 16th Feeling very tired today but no idea why. I'm not due for my B12 for weeks yet & it's not as if I've been doing a lot ....... maybe that's the problem. Going to sit outside for an hour this afternoon & maybe the extra Vitamin D will give me a boost. Mon, 16 May 2016 09:17:39 EST May 15th Can't believe we're almost half way through the month already. Sun, 15 May 2016 09:39:45 EST May 14th Had a lovely day today ending up with sitting in the garden for a while this afternoon. Had our feet done, did the weeks shopping & also did a load of meals for the freezer.A successful day all round. Sat, 14 May 2016 16:55:30 EST May 13th I was really pleased with another 2lb loss on the scales last night. That brings my total so far to 6 stones & 4lbs (88lbs) lost in just over 13 months. Woohoo! Fri, 13 May 2016 11:10:26 EST May 12th The plaque we had made for Brandi came today, it's lovely. We can now put it on the piece of wood where all our other furbabies' plaques are. I'll try & get a picture to post once it's done.
Had a reasonable trip to the pool today & managed 2 1/2 miles. Hoping the scales are kind tonight. Thu, 12 May 2016 10:30:09 EST May 11th It's really quiet here this evening, Pete is in a hotel in Reading overnight ashe had a meeting this afternoon and another in the morning. At least it means he'll be home early tomorrow.
It's also made me miss Brandi even more, she was always so talkative, except for the last two days of her life which was another reason we knew it was time to let her go, whereas Abbi hardly meow's a word & has been asleep most of the day. Wed, 11 May 2016 15:07:18 EST May 10th Really excited, over the weekend I saw a member of Cirque Du Soleil's 'Amaluna' on a tv show. I love Cirque & have seen 3 shows 'live' & most of them on the tv. They announced that they will be doing a UK tour this year and will be in Manchester in September. Because I have to have Accessible seats due to my Mobility scooter I always have to phone up to get tickets. After a few failed attempts I managed to get through & booked a couple. Woohoo! It's our Wedding Anniversary just after so it wi... Tue, 10 May 2016 12:31:18 EST May 9th I'm just watching a programme about the making of the Choir to sing at the Invictus Games. The people are so inspirational and incredible heroes each & every one of them. Mon, 9 May 2016 14:33:18 EST May 8th We're coming to terms with our decision yesterday a bit more now although it's been very strange only putting one food bowl down at meal times. The hardest was this morning, normally Brandi would come onto the bed and lie on my side for 'a fuss'. She wasn't a 'fussy' cat but loved our morning routine. This morning Abbi took Brandi's place almost as if she knew, bless her. Sun, 8 May 2016 16:50:52 EST May 7th

Well the hard part is now over, at 2.15pm our gorgeous Brandi girl went over the Rainbow Bridge to join her sister Cardi & our handsome Fudgie boy. She went very peacefully and we were holding & fussing her the whole time. No more pain or suffering for her anymore. Obviously we were extremely upset but the Vet & the Nurses were fantastic & we were taken into a lovely room that was kitted out... Sat, 7 May 2016 11:16:48 EST May 6th The scales showed the same last night which is a shame but I think could be because we've had some Weetabix cake this week. I'm not too worried because it'll come down again next week & at least it's not a gain.
Not looking forward to the weekend, we're due to take our Brandi back to the Vets to see how she's doing after the change in diet & antibiotics. Unfortunately we think she's lost even more weight, is even more unsteady on her back legs & just sleeps, drinks water & pees. She is s... Fri, 6 May 2016 08:17:28 EST May 5th Weigh in tonight so my fingers are crossed. I've stuck to plan but as we all know that's never a guarantee of a loss.
It's also voting day for our local council & for a new Police Commissioner so it's important that we make the effort to vote. Thu, 5 May 2016 11:14:26 EST
