BRANDI1809's SparkPeople Blog BRANDI1809's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community March 29th Unfortunately because we live in an older bungalow (built in 1932) the painted walls are taking a while to dry so our decorator is having to come back to finish off tomorrow morning.
It's our boys first birthday today although looking at them you'd never think they were so young.

Morgan
<img src=" Wed, 29 Mar 2017 14:46:24 EST March 28th The decorator has arrived & started working on the spare bedroom so we now have the bed, headboard & two bedside cabinets plus the quilt & pillow cases in the dining room! Hopefully it should be all back & sorted by the weekend. Tue, 28 Mar 2017 07:43:56 EST March 27th Had quite a good birthday so far. Pete has got the week off on holiday so cooked me a lovely breakfast.

Had loads of well wishes from my friends on facebook, a lot of whom asked if I was being pampered.......
Erm, well I've stripped & remade the bed, done two loads of washing & Pete & I have cleared the spare bedroom ready for the decorator to arrive tomorrow.
Sooooo no, I've not re... Mon, 27 Mar 2017 12:35:35 EST March 25th & 26th Had a great weekend, first of all we went up to see my Mum taking all the ingredients & some utensils to cook her a lovely meal of Cottage Pie & vegetables.

We then went to my Brother & SIL where we got ready to go to my nephews 40th birthday 'do'.
Me & my brother

... Sun, 26 Mar 2017 17:18:22 EST March 24th I'm now 2 1/2 lbs away from my target now having put on another pound this week. I'm not happy as apart from last Saturday I've been totally 'on plan'.
Let's hope next week turns out better. Fri, 24 Mar 2017 17:26:58 EST March 23rd It's weigh in tonight & once again I'm not expecting a loss. I'm really going to have to look at what's going on because apart from the time between Saturday linchtime & Sunday breakfast, I've been 'on plan' as usual but it just doesn't seem to want to start moving again. I'm only 1 1/2 lbs away from target & I just bounce between 1/2 lb on to 1 1/2 off then 1 lb on to 1/2 off. Oh well, it's not going to be easy next week either with Mothering Sunday meaning lunch with my Mum on Saturday & P... Thu, 23 Mar 2017 12:15:45 EST March 22nd Couldn't believe it..... I went to be measured for my first bra today. Yes I know I'll be 63 on Monday but I've never ever been measured! What was even better, the member of staff said that they hadn't got a bra small enough for me. Hee hee,the shop is Evans Outsize. I then went to M & S but although they had the size, they didn't have the cup size. It appears that if you are over size 38 you can't have a B or C cup! I've managed to find some on-line so have ordered several pairs to make sure... Wed, 22 Mar 2017 18:25:16 EST March 21st Not got anything to write about today apart from I did another 2 1/2 miles in the pool today and it wasn't as much of a chore as it was last time.
Feeling good!
237 Tue, 21 Mar 2017 17:26:15 EST March 20th Had a lovely meal tonight, it was Slimming World Chilli Con Carne but only used half the amount of stock liquid and a tin of Baked Beans not kidney beans. Instead of rice, I had it on a bed of cauliflower. carrots & peas. It was soooo yummy.
Sorry, I ate it before I remembered to take a photo.

Here's the recipe

ingredients

Low calorie cooking spray
1 large onion, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
2 fresh chillie... Mon, 20 Mar 2017 15:32:33 EST March 19th Had a super time with our friends although we won't be going back to that hotel again. Every year something has either been wrong or has gone wrong with our stay. This time there were a few things that were a bit of a let down but especially the meal we had in the restaurant last night. I don't think any of us were particularly impressed. The good thing was that the four of us were back together again and despite the problems we had a very happy time.

<img src="http://photosaws.sp... Sun, 19 Mar 2017 16:01:27 EST March 18th Just about to set off from home, we're off to a hotel in Nottingham to meet up with our friends for our annual get-together. It's always a very silly, happy time with lots of laughs and fun. Not sure how my healthy lifestyle will cope with the food & probably a little drink or two, but I'm not worried because as soon as we are back home on Sunday we will be straight back on plan. Hopefully it might even give my metabolism a swift kick. Sat, 18 Mar 2017 06:51:45 EST March 17th Well, once again the scales have not been kind! Yesterday before getting on the scales I only had 1lb to get to my target but once I got on those dratted things I now have 1 1/2lbs to lose.

On a good note, I finally finished my entry to the Nationals and sent it off today. Fri, 17 Mar 2017 17:07:42 EST March 16th Couldn't believe it, last night I was late going to spin the wheel, it was 5 minutes past 11 and the page had flipped over to today. I'd forgotten that America put their clocks forward last weekend. I was gutted after maintaining a Log in streak for 886 days! Luckily it doesn't appear to have reset thank goodness.

Here are some of the photos our friend took last night, unfortunately it's made Pete & I realise how old we are getting. As they say, the camera never lies.
<img sr... Thu, 16 Mar 2017 11:34:14 EST March 15th Yesterdays' blog has brought up a couple of questions, yes I do actually have 3 meals a day plus loads of fruit but I don't think 3 sticks of celery, two carrots, some cheese triangles on a Snack-a-Jack make for good photography for my lunch lol!

All I used when cooking the steak, onions & mushrooms was a couple of squirts of Fry-Light then after about 5 minutes of cooking I added salt & pepper, a little Worcester Sauce and a little water. Plain & simple.

As for the Nati... Wed, 15 Mar 2017 10:45:36 EST March 14th For those who were asking, yes I am going to enter the National competition, don't think I'll get anywhere because there are lots of other people who've lost much more than me. But hey, I'll give it a go and at least it's good for our group.

Todays food has been...
Breakfast
My morning scrambled eggs are evolving. Today I've added bacon, sweet pointed red pepper, peas and a dash of Worcestershire sauce to the normal spring onion, spinach and cheese from my healthy A porti... Tue, 14 Mar 2017 18:11:34 EST March 13th

We had the leftover chicken and mushroom curry we made for our groups taster session last Thursday. Pete had it with boiled rice but I had it with vegetable couscous. Very nice.

Oh and I've received an email from Slimming World congratulating me on being the Biggest Loser for our group and asking me to enter the National competition.
40 198 100</... Mon, 13 Mar 2017 18:20:15 EST March 12th Having watched several series of Blacklist we thought we'd have a bit of a break when a couple of weeks ago we spotted a new (to us) programe called 'Blindspot', we are now on series 1 episode 8. Trouble is, like Blacklist, there's a line at the end of each programme which makes you want to watch the next and having SKY+ means that one episode follows on from the last. We are limiting ourselves to 2, maybe 3 each time we get a spare bit of time.
Meanwhile, we're drinking loads more water... Sun, 12 Mar 2017 12:36:13 EST March 11th Been out getting a few things towards our holiday and Pete bought himself 3 work shirts. When we got home I was about to take all the packaging off his shirts & I said 'are you sure you're a 17inch collar?' Yes I am came the reply. Ok, I got everything off the shirts & put them in the wash. When I got them out of the dryer & hung them up he looked at his other shirts & yes, you guessed it, they were all 16 inch collars! It just shows how we are still unable to accept that we have got smaller.... Sat, 11 Mar 2017 14:42:45 EST March 10th Still can't get over being Biggest Loser for our session, in fact I learned today that I was overall BL for both sessions of our group. If you'd have told me this two years ago when I started with SW I would have laughed & said 'no way' but here I am. Woohoo! Fri, 10 Mar 2017 16:56:04 EST March 9th 1 1/2lbs lost this week woohoo I'm now only one pound off my first target of 98lbs (7 stones).
What was even better, I was named as our groups' Greatest Loser of the Year having lost the most weight since I started Slimming World. I'm one very proud person.

This is a picture Pete took.

And I took this when I got home.
<img src=" Thu, 9 Mar 2017 17:29:31 EST March 8th Had my hair done today, sorry about the photo but I'm not very good at selfies.

Our meal tonight was chicken in fajita spice rub with onions, peppers, chilli & garlic with celeriac & butternut squash mash, carrots, peas & cauliflower. Although I ate all my chicken & veg. I couldn't manage all the mash even though it was gorgeous.
<img src=" Wed, 8 Mar 2017 14:59:44 EST March 7th I've already postedmy blog once but it seems to have got lost.
Only managed 2 miles in the pool today, hopefully I'll get back to doing 2 1/2 on Thursday.
Off out to our neighbours now, will write more tomorrow. Tue, 7 Mar 2017 14:48:32 EST March 6th Pete's on holiday today & tomorrow so we took the opportunity to do a trip to the Council Tip to clear out a load of bags of garden rubbish, an old computer, a blind & a set of curtains. We then went shopping for a new light fitting, vertical blind, light switch & matching double socket..... we're having our spare bedroom decorated in a couple of weeks so we are beginning to get some accessories ready for it.
Our meal tonight was low fat mini meatballs in a passata sauce with mushrooms, ... Mon, 6 Mar 2017 16:36:18 EST March 5th Had a fabulous night at Cirque, the whole thing was wonderful.
After a late night we've had a very lazy day today with a lovely cooked breakfast....

and this evening we had lasagne made with butternut squash sheets instead of pasta sheets. It's much nicer.
Sun, 5 Mar 2017 16:52:03 EST March 4th Off to see Cirque Du Soleil: Varekai shortly, I'm so excited I love Cirque! We're taking a little picnic to have in the car. Doors open at 6.30 but the show doesn't start until 8, we want to get there early to get a good parking spot even though we'll be in the disabled area. We've got a small salad each, a boiled egg & a chicken leg. After the show we'll have some fruit & a Hi fi bar whilst waiting for the crowds to disperse from the car park areas. It can be a bit of a nightmare at the NEC,... Sat, 4 Mar 2017 11:41:08 EST March 2nd & 3rd Weigh in last night didn't go to plan, I was hoping to have lost 1 1/2 lbs to get me to target but unfortunately instead of losing, I gained a pound! Bummer!
Will I let it get me down????? Well maybe I did let it for a couple of minutes.....
Will I let it stop me????? Never, I'm even more determined to get to my target. Pete & I will just have to sit down tonight and make sure all meals are planned & recorded (as usual) The only thing I can think of is to reduce the portion size. <B... Fri, 3 Mar 2017 12:23:00 EST March 1st Gosh March already, the year is speeding by! Looking forward to this month although it might bring a few hurdles.
This coming Saturday we go to see Cirque Du Soleil: Varekai. We love Cirque and have already seen 4 live shows including one in Toronto and 'O' in Vegas and most of the shows which were shown on Sky Arts over the years.
On the 18th we are meeting up in a hotel in Nottingham with our friends from Lincoln who we try to get together with at least once a year.
Then on t... Wed, 1 Mar 2017 16:11:42 EST February 28th Last day of the month & the last 2 weeks have been good for me & I'm hoping that March is also good now I seem to have my mojo back.
This morning I tried some Snowball melon in my fruit bowl. Never had it before but wasn't over impressed as it's just like Honeydew.
Tue, 28 Feb 2017 15:49:35 EST February 27th It's a new week and I'm continuing mostly on SP because a) it gave me a good result last week and b) I love it.
Last night we made SW Lasagne except instead of pasta sheets we used Sainsbury's butternut squash sheets! Must admit it's now a favourite meal and I prefer it to pasta,
.
Breakfast today was scrambled eggs with bacon spinach and onion and a small sprinkle of light mozzarella fro... Mon, 27 Feb 2017 12:26:56 EST February 25th & 26th Didn't get to blogg yesterday what with food shopping, having our feet done and then preparing for our friends who came over for a meal last night.
We cooked Diet Lilt Chicken with Butternut Squash & Celeriac mash, roasted baby carrots, cauliflower & broccoli. We made Apple Betty for dessert & also had fruit salad with meringue. All went down very well & we had a lovely evening. Sun, 26 Feb 2017 12:34:09 EST February 24th Had a very successful week with a 3lb loss thanks to following the Slimming World SP meals. For those people who don't know about Slimming World SP, basically it's following the usual SW regime but without carbs but more proteins. If you take a look at my other blogs this week you will see the sort of meals I've been having.

Today's breakfast was 3 eggs scrambled with spinach, spring onion & a small amount of low fat mozzarella and a bowl of fruit made up of melon, strawberry, rasp... Fri, 24 Feb 2017 15:18:47 EST February 23rd My breakfast today was scrambled egg with spinach and my usual fruit.

I've not put up tonights meal, don't want to bore you all with too many photos, but I'm happy to report that this week has been a success with a loss tonight of 3 lbs! Sun, 19 Feb 2017 15:00:19 EST February 18th We've just cooked & eaten Chicken in Black Bean Sauce & whilst Pete had pasta I had a mixture of courgette & butternut squash spaghetti. Very yummy.

Sat, 18 Feb 2017 14:27:50 EST February 17th Finally the scales have moved downwards again, only by half a pound but at least it's going in the right direction.
I passed my food log to my Consultant last evening and at first glance she couldn't find anything untoward but has said that she will have a word with her next in line. Someone at group said that they were going to do the SP plan for a week, (doesn't refer to Sparkpeople but to Speed & Protein foods) so Pete and I are going to give it a try. For those who don't know about S... Fri, 17 Feb 2017 09:36:28 EST February 16th Can't wait for weigh in tonight after writing absolutely everything down all week as my SW Consultant asked, according to my home scales there will be no difference if not another half pound gain this week. Although the log I've done is private,I'm going to get my Consultant to take a look at it to see if she can suggest anything to help me get the scales moving again. Thu, 16 Feb 2017 12:49:35 EST February 15th Tried something different for our meal tonight, Baked Sweet Potato halves with chicken in fajita seasoning, mushrooms, peppers, carrots & onions. It was absolutely gorgeous and whereas if we'd have had the same using baked potato I'd never have got halfway through it but sweet potato is much lighter and tastier.

Wed, 15 Feb 2017 14:52:32 EST February 14th Happy Valentines Day!

Pete & I don't bother with all the faff around Valentines, we don't need to pay out money to show how much we care about each other.
So our Valentines meal was as usual prepared by ourselves, together in our kitchen. It was minced beef in a passata sauce with potato & celeriac mash, carrots & sprouts.

Now instead of a night at the pictures or ... Tue, 14 Feb 2017 13:59:05 EST February 13th Chicken mushrooms onions and sweet peppers (all very speedy) done with a Mexican seasoning pot with roasted sweet potatoes and added speedy cauliflower & broccoli. Had to have some sweetcorn for colour though. I think the Mexican is a bit too hot for me, my mouth is still on fire🔥 lol.
Mon, 13 Feb 2017 15:52:33 EST February 12th Had a lovely lazy morning apart from stripping the bed & washing the sheets. Now had an invite to join the neighbour for a meal this evening, thankfully they are following the Slimming World lifestyle so I'll be ok food wise. Sun, 12 Feb 2017 11:25:22 EST February 11th Had a lovely time visiting up with my Mum and I think it cheered her up a bit. She's recently heard some bad news about her friend & neighbour who is very very ill and is now only receiving palliative care.
Don't think I'll be late to bed tonight as because Pete is unable to drive for at least another 4 weeks after his surgery, I had to drive both ways to Mums. My eyes feel like I want to put them in a bowl of cold water for a few hours lol! Sat, 11 Feb 2017 16:37:11 EST February 10th I put on half a pound again this week! Bummer! So I've decided to take my Consultants advice and even though I know exactly what I eat every day I'm going to fill in an SAS ( Slimmers Against Sabotage ) log. I have to write down everything I eat and drink, if it's a Free food, Syn, Speed food etc. It does make you think I suppose. If this doesn't work, the Consultant will ask questions 'up the line'. I'm also going to look at the meal plan my Sparkfriend Donna sent me. Fri, 10 Feb 2017 17:04:20 EST February 9th I'm not feeling on top form today. I was up at the crack of dawn to take Pete to his first physio appointment at 7.30! Didn't know they started so early!
Anyway, for some strange reason I've got a stiff neck & can't seem to get warm. I really wish I didn't have to go out this evening but being on the Social Team at group we are both needed to take the money & weigh people. Although as usual we have both stuck strictly to plan I feel the scales will not be kind again. Not sure what I can ... Thu, 9 Feb 2017 09:51:11 EST February 8th We were at the hospital this morning for Pete's dressing to be removed! It took us 2 hours round trip for 5 minutes in with a nurse! I could have whipped it off myself in 2 seconds. lol! At least everything seem to be ok, which is good. Wed, 8 Feb 2017 11:57:08 EST February 7th Managed anothe 2 1/2 miles in the pool today although it was a bit of a chore. I'm hoping I feel brighter when I go again on Thursday. Tue, 7 Feb 2017 14:18:13 EST February 6th Got a bit of a shock this morning, the phone rang quite early and I could see it was my brother. Immediately I wondered what was wrong with my Mum because he lives close to her, but thankfully he was just ringing to tell me he'd be away for a few days next weekend and that I'd be the 'go to' person if Mum should need anything. Pete & I have decided that we'll go up for the day on Saturday instead of leaving it till the following weekend. (We always try to get up to see her once a month becaus... Mon, 6 Feb 2017 15:25:08 EST February 5th We are having a very very lazy day today. We did make it out into the world for a short time to look for a memorial brick at our local football ground. My friend from Primary school had one made in memory of her father who'd been a lifelong West Bromwich Albion fan. She lives quite a way away in Chester so hadn't been able to get down to see it.

We found it!
Sun, 5 Feb 2017 12:48:01 EST February 4th Had a lovely day today when we took Petes Mum & Dad to meet up with 10 other members of the family. Everyone had a great time and can't wait until our next meet up in April when we'll be joined by Petes' Aunt & Uncle from Canada. Sat, 4 Feb 2017 16:23:01 EST
