BLUE_48's SparkPeople Blog BLUE_48's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Did you pour your love today? I love the little pictures that are shared around Facebook. Everyday I get motivating or heartwarming things that someone has shared. Yesterday one caught my eye, you may have had someone share it with you if you have Facebook, that said A Cup of Self Love. I know that that self love, or lack of it, is one of the biggest reasons I gained weight. God loves me, my wonderful family loves me, I have fantastic friends who love me. I have always known their love. It was my own that I did not feel ... Tue, 23 Apr 2013 13:59:29 EST Why oh Why? I have been on Spark since the last few days of March. I have been successful, losing 11 pounds! Weekdays, I d so well. I track food, and eat very well. However when the weekend comes, I struggle Saturday and Sunday. I know I am far from being the only one. Why does this happen? I live with the same people, we eat the same way, but I find myself just wanting wanting wanting. The things I want are not exactly the healthiest foods. Is it because I am too strict with myself all week? Is it beca... Fri, 19 Apr 2013 16:08:21 EST Do you or don't you? I love to walk. Last summer my best friend and I walked nearly every day, when the weather permitted. It was so great to get out in the sunshine, get in some great exercise, and enjoy her company. This week the weather man said spring will be arriving, and I can't wait! I am so anxious to hit our walking route, and to find new ones. I love walking, but I do NOT care for it by myself. I can do many exercises alone, and prefer to do them alone, but walking I have tried and it just is not the s... Tue, 16 Apr 2013 14:12:57 EST What Are You? This morning on Facebook there was a picture that said "Calories don't count on the weekends." I have tried very hard since the few weekends I have been here at Spark to follow my food program and stay with in range. I am curious. Do you take the weekend off, do you stay on track, or do you splurge some of the time? Right now, I am one that stays on track. As I develop better eating habits, I will become a splurge some of the time. Right now I don't, because if I do, I will splurge all of... Sat, 13 Apr 2013 07:55:10 EST Please Tell Me.... I am looking for different ways to get my cardio in during the week. What is your favorite cardio exercises? Thank you!! I hope you are enjoying a healthy and happy week! Thu, 11 Apr 2013 18:57:29 EST Connors and Ali I have a very active grandson that I just love to have over for visits. With my weight gain, keeping up with him is often very challenging. I do not want to miss out on any thing with him, because life is too precious and short. Today he wanted to play some Wii Tennis and Wii Boxing. For a long time, I passed on this and gave that honor to Grandpa. Since I have been having so much more energy I decided to give it my all . All the regular cardio, stretching, strength and flexibility is paying... Wed, 10 Apr 2013 16:28:44 EST Help!! I am so sore! I THOUGHT I was being very good about stretching before and after a workout. I have made sure to stretch, warm up, do the workout, cool down, and then stretch. For over a week everything has been great. Today my muscles are so sore! What am I missing? I would appreciate any suggestions. It is the thighs that are sore. So, if anyone has any favorite stretching routines or videos you can suggest, please do. Thank you! Fri, 5 Apr 2013 15:39:38 EST What Is My Value? One of the many reasons I did not maintain my first weight loss is I never felt myself as valuable. I am not talking just about my value to others, but most importantly to myself. I measured my value according to others. When my children came to me for advice, I was a valuable problem solver. When my husband relied on me for various things, I was a valuable spouse. When my friends sought my company, I was a valuable friend. The list goes on how I weighed and measured my value involving othe... Wed, 3 Apr 2013 16:00:47 EST Has This Ever Happened To You? Sunday evening I felt tired and went to bed a little earlier than usual. I woke up around midnight, and from that point on, I vomited every hour on the hour. I also had bad diarrhea. Early Monday, I started having the worst muscle cramps ever!
No matter how I lay, my toes, legs, stomach, arms, muscles would cramp right up.
I figure it must have been due to dehydration. As I started to whop the fluids to me, it did start to cease last evening. I got a good lesson in one important f... Tue, 2 Apr 2013 17:30:20 EST Easter Sunrise I got up early this morning. It was a little earlier than I normally do on a Sunday morning. I read last night that sunrise would be at 6;14 am, and I wanted to try to get some photographs on my digital camera. My neighborhood is quiet, and at that hour of the morning, when its 20 something degrees, it's even more quiet! I got somewhat impatient, and started to complain to no one how cold I was, and how long it was taking to see the sunrise from my vantage point. I almost gave up and went ins... Sun, 31 Mar 2013 08:09:33 EST The Social End of Spark This is going to make a huge difference for me. This time around, I am making the effort to visit my teams forums. Not only am I posting on threads, I am also reading comments. I am taking the plunge and adding Sparkers as friends. I am taking the time to read their blogs. By putting forth this effort, I have received great advice, encouraged, and motivated. This was a part of Spark I am doing much differently this time. Part of my reinvention. Reach out to others, for help and encouragement... Sat, 30 Mar 2013 13:43:07 EST Reinvention To My Best Version New life. I am not a religious person per say, but I could not help but reflect today about Good Friday. This season, as we all know, is about defeat and victory. New life in this victory. Spring rises from the depths of winter and breathes new life into every single one of us. I am here for new life. Not just weight loss, but the best version of myself. I want to feel better physically, and I want to smile more, and I want to be excited about small things in life, to name a few goals of ... Fri, 29 Mar 2013 15:59:42 EST Changing my Ending “Although no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.”
― Carl Bard
That is what I am all about today, making a brand new ending. I will do it this time!! I believe in myself. I have the confidence I need, and the support when my confidence is low. I will meet my personal goals, and my weight loss goals. Not fast, but I will do it because I found faith in me that I did not have last time. I am changing my ending........ Thu, 28 Mar 2013 21:19:09 EST
