I have made great progress in consistently working out with cardio and weight lifting. I have learned a lot about myself physically including new knowledge of issues with food allergies and my thyroid. I am going to try to start a modified food plan ( Paleo) in hope that this one works. Wish me luck. Tue, 8 Sep 2015 01:37:06 EST Satan I rebuke you!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5874192 Last week I had what I thought was a good week. I worked out so hard I swore I shook some fat loose. I also ate well. I felt so good about it I stepped on the scale. The dial said 207 pounds. I am officially done with scales. How can a person gain 5 pounds in 5 days. I have to believe it is water weight but that crushes my spirit. Thu, 12 Feb 2015 00:01:47 EST One hundred and f**king ninety eight pounds http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5867964 So I am feeling some kind of way about my current weight of 198 pounds. Over the past two years I have tried to lose weight and I have not had much success. My max weight was 209 pounds, so this is a total of ten pounds lost. Part of it is I am against diets and have tried to just make lifestyle changes in terms of eating better and working out more. This has been a struggle, but I have finally gotten to a point where I have significantly reduced my sugar in take. Over the past year I have a... Mon, 2 Feb 2015 14:18:01 EST New Year, New start http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5846193 So I am rededicating myself to fitness this year. I started strong last year but had to fall back due to some health problems. I probably could have done a better job with nutrition, but the stress was too high to handle. No looking back, just moving forward. Sun, 4 Jan 2015 23:57:22 EST 193.6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5634755 I saw that on the scale today and I cannot believe it. I have been stuck at 196.4 for sometime now. I have finally busted the plateau. I have been very consistent with my workouts, but I have increased the protein in my diet which seems to be helping. I will get below 190 ! Wed, 26 Feb 2014 21:51:20 EST Almost a year in http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5625971 I am coming up on my 1 year anniversary for starting Crossfit. Pics to come soon, it has been hard but well worth it.

Sun, 16 Feb 2014 23:06:27 EST Still going strong http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5413746 4 months ago I started crossfit. I am still going strong, although I haven't been posting. I haven't lost much weight but I can certainly see the increase in muscle mass. Sun, 7 Jul 2013 23:27:33 EST Slow but Steady http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5365152 Last week I pulled a hamstring so I had to take a few days off. Yesterday I managed to get 54 assisted pull ups done among other things.

I will finish the month strong. Wed, 22 May 2013 23:39:50 EST Still going strong http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5344955 It has been awhile since I posted here. I was given a journal book and I have been keeping track of my WODs and progress there. I am happy to report that I have been working out consistently all month. Sat, 4 May 2013 01:21:30 EST Still pushing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5306901 All, I managed to get in 3 days of crossfit despite travel this week. Not my best week but still progress. I will try to post new workouts next week.
Mon, 1 Apr 2013 00:24:43 EST Slowed but not stalled http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5300237 I had some travel at the end of the week and some delays so I haven't been back to my gym since wednesday. I have managed some "road workouts" and I have hit two of them.

I will hit it hard again this week.
Tue, 26 Mar 2013 00:38:16 EST The beat goes on. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5294420 Tuesday-

I forgot what the warm up was :(
18 min AMRAP
12 burpee bar jumps
5 clean snatches
15 sit ups
I did 5 reps!!

Wednesday-
Warm up
2 mins jump ropes
15 pull ups
15 dips
5 x 5 back squats with 58 lbs.
Actual work out

3 sets of 12 pull ups, 21 kettle bell swings (20 lbs) and a 400m row. Not my best day, again we had to do handstand push-ups. I lack the upper body strength to do them. Last time the instructor let me do incline push-ups. Today's instructor said the motion was not the same and insisted that I try a walk walk up, which I also failed at. Needless to say I felt inadequate. I know I will get strong in time, but this sucked.

Today's work out: 5 pull ups ( i did assisted) 35 double unders and 5 shoulder presses. repe... Tue, 19 Mar 2013 00:55:16 EST A day of rest kinda.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5290533 First of all, thanks you everyone for your support during my crazy crossfit journey.

Today I did not workout as it was my rest day. I did spend Saturday night a most of today with a friend and her twin newborns. I was happy to help and her and daddy could use a break, since grandma left earlier in the week. However, I am exhausted, but happy they cry alot, dont sleep much but are so cute. I tip my hat to all of you who are parents, those brave enough to go solo and those wit... Mon, 18 Mar 2013 00:51:18 EST Down but not defeated!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5288373 Today's workout:

Warm up with an 800m row.
Strength training with squat thrust with 25 lb bar.

The work out was 1 rope climb, 2 squat thrusts and 3 handstand push ups. AMRAP in 10 min.

I was not strong enough to do any of the standard exercises so I had to modified versions. Honestly, it was really demoralizing for me. Trying to press past my failure I have marked this day in my journal. I have made it a goal to be able to do this in the next year. Sat, 16 Mar 2013 00:52:18 EST Today's work out http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5286008 Today's work out:

Warm up 2:00 min row.
200ft walking lunges.
15 overhead squats
3 x 5 back squats ( 35lbs)

Work out:

Pyramid reps of push ups and squats 30 second rest then dead lifts and clean ups (35 lbs).

So to do this you do 1 push ups and 1 squat, then 2 push ups and 2 squats, etc until you hit 90 secs. Then you rest for 30 and do the same with the weight combo. after 90 sec you pick up where you left off on the push ups/ squats... Mon, 11 Mar 2013 23:54:06 EST Today she rests! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5280712 I stuck with crossfit, finishing 5 workouts this week. Today I rested, tomorrow I will run and get back at CF next week.

Sun, 10 Mar 2013 00:15:56 EST Crossfit Week 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5276352 So I started a second week of crossfit. Monday's work out was tough but I felt good as I could do all of the components ( 300m row, 70 jumps with the rope and 5 squat cleans) 3 reps total. Tuesday was also hard but still I hung tough with reps of 15 box jumps, 8 clean ups and 5 leg raises. I completed 3 full sets and 10 box jumps within the 18 mins allotted.

Today was not my best work out as it involved push ups and pull ups and I suck at both. I did ok on the deadlifts. I will cel... Wed, 6 Mar 2013 18:43:23 EST My Cross-fit experience started this week. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5266734 So I took the leap and tried cross-fit. The instructor was nice and he made me feel ok with my lack of upper body strength. Using a very large green strap, I was able to eeek out 3 pull ups and 3 tricep dips. I completed the word out of the day (WOD) which consisted of burpees, long jumps and squats. I went home and soaked in a hot bath and some Epsom salts. Worked wonders for my legs, my shoulders were still quite sore.

Today I returned after a day off for another round. I manage... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 02:20:07 EST Ready to be the before picture http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5256904 All, I have may slow and often stalled progress as I try to get back in shape. I have decided that I am ready to move toward the after part. Time to safe good bye to the muffin top and thunder thighs. I am ready to start the gun show.
Wed, 20 Feb 2013 00:07:14 EST 1 pound to go!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5205985 Until I make 10 pounds lost. Still more to go afterwards, but still a victory. Mon, 14 Jan 2013 00:43:32 EST Going to give it a go. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5204417 Between my vacation, my cold and a work trip I have been out of the gym all year. Tomorrow I am jumping back in. The goal is 8 miles but I will take it on hour at a time.

Wish me luck.
Sun, 13 Jan 2013 00:17:48 EST Stalled for the moment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5192189 I entered 2013 fully motivated and determined to get it done. I was on vacation until 1/3 and arrived home feeling kind sick. I spent half of Friday at work and returned home to climb into bed. My colleagues even commented on how crappy I looked. Glad I came in though, wouldn't want anyone to think I was trying to sneak an extra vacation day. I have finally graduated to the couch. My plans for the gym will have to wait for another day.

I guess the plus side is I have no appetite so... Sat, 5 Jan 2013 21:01:32 EST Bye bye 200 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5173081 Today, I saw 199.6 on the scale and my heart skipped a beat. I know that efforts cannot be defined by the numbers on the scale, but I have been working out hard for awhile and have not seen much change. I joined weightwatchers and lost 6 pound, my friend lost 15 and she doesn't work out. I remember when my weight creeped up to 194, then 198, 202 and finally 206. I am going to keep going and I hope that 200 is gone for good. Fri, 21 Dec 2012 17:44:40 EST Finally some progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5155467 It has been rough as all year I have wanted to lose some weight, I have begun working out pretty consistently but the scale has stayed firm. I finally decided to try weight watchers. My friends kept pressing my to try diets before as they lost lots of weight on various programs with special foods. However, since I travel alot I need a plan that works with regular food. I must admit that I am still struggling with keeping track of my food but the whole experience has been eyeopening. for examp... Tue, 4 Dec 2012 01:15:26 EST Moving and shaking..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4885101 Last week I watched the guy on the treadmill next to me with envy as he pumped out 4 miles in under 40 minutes. Today I stepped my game up running a 9.3 min/mile pace for 1.5 min intervals. I must say at first I didn't thinking could make a minute but I did so I pushed for another half. I did several intervals like this a completed 3 miles in 40 mins, a personal best. I am looking forward to my next run! Thu, 17 May 2012 01:58:36 EST I didn't want to but I did.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4874888 I was really tired today, long day at work. I did manage to get in the gym and pump out 3 miles. This weekend I will go for 4.5.
Thu, 10 May 2012 00:58:10 EST Last week lost a pound http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4871555 This is a small victory, but I will take it. After being stuck in place for a month, last week I lost a pound. This is based on my daily averages, so I feel it is real. I hope I can do it again this week.

Tue, 8 May 2012 00:35:00 EST Baby steps http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4865653 Today I pushed out 2 miles in 27.4 minutes. I am most proudnof the fact that I ran 1/4 mile at a time with brisk walks in between. Last month I could barely run 1/10 of a mile. Next month I will make it to 1/2. Fri, 4 May 2012 00:47:54 EST New set of goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4864003 This is the only place I would confess this, but after hovering around the 200 pound mark for a while, I finally hit 206 last year. This year I renewed my commitment to exercise and a better diet in January and got down to 201. I fell off the wagon in March and I am not at 203. I hit it hard last month but I am stuck at 203. This month I have decided that it is time to say good bye to 200. I will do better with my diet and and a 4th workout to my schedule.

Wish me luck. Thu, 3 May 2012 00:22:41 EST Not my best, but progress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4862298 I didn't want to run today, I had a fun party weekend out of town and I am still recovering. However I dragged myself to the gym and put in 3 miles on the treadmill (15 min/mile). Considering how tired I was I now know I should never run less than 15min/mile when I am better shape. Wed, 2 May 2012 00:22:15 EST Slow and steady wins the race http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4849136 Week three and I am still trucking along. I ran 4 miles at a personal best of 58 minutes!

I have not lost any weight yet but my stamina is definitely improving. Tue, 24 Apr 2012 00:11:54 EST Consistency is the key! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4843465 Tomorrow's goal 3 mile run. Fri, 20 Apr 2012 00:59:26 EST New Goals Set http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4831253 Today I signed up for my first race, a 10k in September. I originally set a goal for 14 minute/ mile. After talking to a coworker who runs marathons he challenged me to try for an pace of 11 minutes a mile. I am scared and intrigued at the same time. I will keep pushing a see where it goes. Wed, 11 Apr 2012 00:55:23 EST My strange addiction http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4821235 I managed to get in 2.5 miles yesterday, despite a long work day. I have a long day ahead on me tomorrow but I plan to hit a spin class.

I have been working out pretty consistently these year, but I have not lost much weight. However I am addicted to the way I feel in loose clothing. My jeans are sagging a bit and I think I will have to retire two of my favorite pants in a few weeks. I am belting them now. The feel of fabric moving past my thighs when I walk is lovely. Usually my p... Thu, 5 Apr 2012 01:07:53 EST Baby steps http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4816047 Last October I started training for a 5k, but life got in the way. Today I began training for a 10k. I have committed to running a race on labor day with a friend. Having someone else involved will definetly hold me accountable. I did intervals of walking 3.1 and running 4.8 of two minutes each for 30 mins. I then walked at the 3.4 speed for 27 minutes achieving 3 miles in 57 minutes. I wanted to quit sereval times but I kept going and I reminded myself that each step I took was a step towar... The second one was a road trip. I left late so I could squeeze in a Zumba class before I hit the road. I was tired but it was worth it. I will get below 200 this month.
Thu, 9 Feb 2012 01:06:10 EST Pressing on. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4717749 This week I didn't lose any weight, it was kinda disheartening. I tried to watch what I ate, but I only worked out twice. I had travel for work so I broke my routine. Today I worked out for two hour weights and cardio. I didn't want to but once I got started I got draw in. I have to keep telling myself that this is a process and to stick with it.

No matter what happens I will still praise God because I am able to work out at all.
Thu, 2 Feb 2012 00:36:09 EST Slow and steady http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4702423 Lost 2.8 pounds last week.
