Basically I am going to be dieting "every other day" but for me I will probably just do 3 days per week. I am truly excited about this because I have done 2 diet days successfully now and already noticing a difference :) I never cheat because I always know that whatever I want I can have the next day so yay for that! I really think this is a great idea for those with a li... Mon, 17 Feb 2014 14:17:57 EST ugh. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5622884 Hey guys I am in such a time of need. I know I haven't been on in a while but I have gained half my weight back just gradually increasing in the course of time. I don't really have any excuses but I feel pretty crappy about it. I hope to come on here more although vet school keeps me busy. I just need to watch everyone's success which will hopefully motivate me to get back down. Still ultimately would love to be at 135 but sometimes I feel like there is just no way. Hopefully will come back l... Thu, 13 Feb 2014 08:01:46 EST A new year to make another new me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5234397 ok so last year I lost a little over 20 pounds that I have fluctuated at within a few pounds. This year I am polishing it off with a final 10 pounds to lose and fitness improvement. I am so impressed with my running improvements and overall fitness improvements it just makes me want to keep going. I am so much more now than i ever thought I would be today. The other day I ran 2 miles on the treadmill in 18:10. I was ecstatic! Never thought I would be able to do that seriously but now I just c... Sat, 2 Feb 2013 11:17:58 EST it's the most wonderful time of the year.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5166389 Hello my sparklers... I hope everyone is doing well. This holiday season I plan on checking out everyone's progress this year ;) I know I have done well with my weight loss and I am very pleased. I have not only lost weight but I have maintained it and I have established an active and healthier lifestyle food-wise. I definitely eat more fruits and vegetables and I love them! I also try to hit the gym 3 times per week but sometimes more and sometimes less depending on how busy I am in a certai... Fri, 14 Dec 2012 11:07:02 EST hurtful words written about me in a blog http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4891858 In vet school some people keep blogs about their journey and time here. I haven't really had people say much about my weight in my life and now that I have lost 22 pounds somebody has. I mean wow what a blow to my confidence. I mean this is the third week of classes and I didn't realize we had established seats already although last week everyone seemed to be sitting in the same general seating arrangement. But today Ryan was in my seat so no big deal I just moved back one row so I could have... Mon, 21 May 2012 19:14:17 EST vet school is tough http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4886044 Yes this keeps me very busy which is why I have really been slacking commenting on everyone's progress! I hope everyone is doing great with their weight loss. I have been successful in maintaining my weight and losing another 2 pounds here. I am scared to eat the vegetables from the grocery sometimes even though I know I am just going to have to embrace it and acclimate my body. I did pan fry some zucchini and red pepper so that was so yummy! It feels REALLY good to have something healthy whe... Thu, 17 May 2012 16:04:50 EST Vet School in the Caribbean! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4869377 Wow what a busy week and a half I've had... I didn't lose anything because we were eating out pretty much every day but that's ok with me. It was orientation week so we were busy all day doing fun activities mostly. We went out to dinner just about every day too and I have drank probably 5 times in the last week and a half sometimes more than others. But I brought my scale down here to the island so I've been watching myself. I did make good choices most of the time when going out to eat and ... Sun, 6 May 2012 20:25:32 EST In the 130's!!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4846407 he he here I am blogging for the third day in a row. I started this journey at 159.4 and this morning I was 139.4! Wow I'm finally here! Hooray! this means I met my mini goal to lose 20 pounds by the time I left for vet school. It's been nothing but steady weight loss for over the last week and a half and I have been lacking on the exercise. It seems that I have been losing weight more steadily now than the weeks I was good on my exercise. Weird. Well I'm not saying I'm quitting exercise at a... Sun, 22 Apr 2012 11:04:39 EST New goal! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4845876 Ok well if you've been with me from the beginning you know my original goal weight was 140! Well today I met that! YAY! Along my journey I lowered it to 135 feeling confident I could do that. Well I am feeling even more confident because I just lowered it to 130! Yes that's right I did. I am feeling just that confident I can do that. I am giving myself until August 17th to do this so NO EXCUSES. I will be in my first semester at vet school but certainly I can take the time to exercise most da... Sat, 21 Apr 2012 21:45:33 EST A little more living and a little less obsessing in my life! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4844681 Ahhh I've been so preoccupied with getting all my stuff done for my departure to vet school next week I have been really slacking on my exercise for the last week! Grrrr... But I've been doing well with what I've been eating so I am happy about that. This morning my scale read 140.2! I can't believe I am almost to the 130's! Wow I haven't been there since like mid- high school... I have been feeling frustrated/overwhelmed/anxious/depressed and many other emotions lately and it's all due to le... Fri, 20 Apr 2012 22:02:23 EST My Confession http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4834155 Anytime is a good time. It's amazing after dinner, after lunch, after breakfast, or heck I would wake up and roll over and get some right then! Hmm maybe even an afternoon delight;) I just want it all the time. I don't really want it in small doses. In fact I like it huge and dark. The way it makes me feel is so good like I'm on cloud 9. I want to fill my mouth to the brim with that sweet stuff so I can swish around that creamy goodness. I even hear it has health benefits too if you have it e... Fri, 13 Apr 2012 23:25:52 EST A little emotional eating today http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4829472 I miss my boyfriend sooo much and it's only been 6 hours and we still have a few months to go till I can see him again. I took him to the airport so he could go back home and back to work and all that. I am leaving in 16 days for vet school too. Ugh so overwhelming leaving the country.... It is kind of crazy to think that as long as we have been together is almost as long as we are going to be spending mostly apart. We have been together 2 years and 3 months and it will be about 2 years and 5... Tue, 10 Apr 2012 22:15:09 EST Happy Easter! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4825625 Ok soo I know I've been a little MIA lately but I am back in full swing now. My boyfriend has been here for a while and weight loss has not been happening but that's ok because I'm back on track now! I've been watching what I eat usually but not as much as I could have. I went back to my college town when my boyfriend got in town for a week and I drank a a good bit of those days! Also we didn't really have any food except easy stuff we could buy from Walmart so we ate out almost every day we ... Sun, 8 Apr 2012 12:47:39 EST So I'm here http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4811283 in Auburn visiting my boyfriend who I haven't seen since January and my friends. Both good and bad things have happened. Yesterday I arrived and I went to dinner. I got a chicken ceaser salad so that was good. But I also was at the bar with friends and had probably a little too much to drink oops haha. But I did plan that so I was ok with it. I pretty much only drink mich ultra or bud select. I love bud select but only some places have it so I get mich ultra instead. I used to get bud light b... Thu, 29 Mar 2012 20:36:28 EST Help with protein? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4807548 Ugh I don't think I am getting enough protein. I think I am supposed to be getting 72 grams or something like that and I am finding this extremely difficult with such limited calorie intake per day. I do get enough when I eat a protein bar in my day but the other days I am struggling I think :/ I want to get enough because I am trying to build my muscle mass. If anyone has some suggestions or think that 72 is more than necessary please share! The things I do eat are like a few grams here and ... Tue, 27 Mar 2012 15:17:04 EST Bummed... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4806142 I healed up from my second round of shin splints last week and went for a run Friday and yesterday in my new shoes. I'm bummed today. My left leg has a shin splint and its a bit achy from knee to ankle. I've even taken a liking to running and I never thought I'd say that in my entire life. I did 3.5 miles Friday and 4.6 miles yesterday and it's just so peaceful and relaxing. Maybe I did too much? I even went a little slower than what I could have done since I had not run in about 2-3 weeks. U... Mon, 26 Mar 2012 19:26:47 EST Got some new running shoes and they are amazing! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4801776 Yep I bought some asics today at a running store. They did the whole analysis by watching me run on a treadmill and I am a "neutral" runner apparently so they helped me pick some shoes that were appropriate for my running style. The other two types of runners are ones who over pronate or supinate. Anyhow so I went in the store hoping and praying that I had a good running style for the asics tri noosa 7 because they are seriously AWESOME! I mean so bright and colorful just google it and you'll... Fri, 23 Mar 2012 18:56:51 EST An update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4785369 Sooo I've been working hard. Except this past weekend. I visited my aunt, uncle, and cousin's house in Miami. So this is where it gets hard I have found out. It is the times where you are the guest and you pretty much have to eat whatever they serve you for breakfast/lunch/dinner. I tried to seek out healthy options for breakfast and lunch but when choices are limited to none what do you do! We pulled in Friday night for dinner. I was prepared to be okay because I had only about 700-800 calor... Tue, 13 Mar 2012 11:06:31 EST Popcorn recipe to share with you guys! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4774562 My brother just made me this popcorn and I am HOOKED! He used a pot to cook up the plain popcorn kernels he bought at the store. What you do is you put olive oil at the bottom of the pot so it covers it. Then you put in the kernels and cook it at medium-med high heat and then just shake it up and mix it and simply put a little salt and that's it! No butter and all it is is olive oil which has good fats and is heart healthy. And not to mention whole grain you can get! I am saying yes to that :... Tue, 6 Mar 2012 22:02:02 EST Almost my birthday and I'll be old and 22.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4771796 Well some more time has gone by since I wrote about my daily battles. I feel pretty good about my latest decisions. Yesterday I almost caught myself emotionally eating because of an argument I had with my dad who can be difficult at times, but I didn't! I thought about it and said that food would not solve this problem so today no regrets! I am officially (trying) doing some calorie cycling. For now trying 1000, 1200, 1300, 1400 and then repeat! I don't really know if I'll be able to keep it ... Mon, 5 Mar 2012 12:02:01 EST Thanks, mom and dad. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4758211 I'm almost 22 years old. My whole life my parents have known that I would need to be able to watch my weight (because I have never been one of those skinny girls) and since I was in middle school they have encouraged me to eat healthy and exercise. My dad has always been very fit and my mom has always worked out but never anything as extreme as my dad has. My mom and I have done several "diets" in the past. We have both needed to watch ourselves but we haven't ever been technically overweight... Sun, 26 Feb 2012 15:45:48 EST WHAT happened this weekend? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4749499 Ok I think I must have been on a plateau for about a week and a half and over the weekend I came out of it. I went to my college to visit for the weekend and have a vet school interview yesterday. I didn't workout Fri-Mon and didn't eat my best. I did my weigh-in this morning and turns out I am 2.4 pounds lighter than I was when I did my Fri morning weight in! What the heck? I drank a lot Friday night with my friends, a medium amount Saturday night, and a little Sunday night. I ate at a resta... Tue, 21 Feb 2012 12:26:36 EST Slow and steady wins the race right? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4738658 Well my last blog entry I wrote that I weighed in at 151.6 Well next day it was back at 152.6 ugh. This morning I weighed in at 151.4 though so this is excellent! Over the weekend I ate at restaurants and someone else's house but I was so proud of myself for making the right decisions. On Friday we went to our family's house to have dinner and visit. I brought an emergency sandwich in fear that they might order pizza or something but they ended up cooking pasta with vegetarian meatballs and v... Tue, 14 Feb 2012 14:11:34 EST Yay success! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4730584 Well 9 days has gone by since I made a blog entry. I weighed in at 151.6 this morning, ya! I need to make sure I'm eating enough in my day and get all my required calories. Exercise and eating the right/healthy foods actually makes it hard for me to even make it to that 1200 calorie mark. But I do usually make it and I enjoy eating my one "junk" food item per day including ice cream, strawberry shortcake, and chocolate. I am just simply not willing to give up something sweet/delicious for the... Thu, 9 Feb 2012 12:03:51 EST A steady week... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4715487 Another week has gone by! I haven't really lost anything this week :( That's ok. I started personal training a week ago and I was so sore I literally was a couch potato for a few days. But that's ok because I know my muscles won't get as sore in the future workouts! There is always that initial terrible soreness when you strength train for the first time in a long time. I could not even extend my arm fully without tons of pain! And you can forget running because with every jolt my muscles wer... Tue, 31 Jan 2012 23:46:57 EST SO EXCITED! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4698720 I am so excited for myself! I can feel myself getting in shape and losing weight and it's an amazing feeling! I am almost 5 pounds down so I am close to rewarding myself with some delcicious brownies. I have done so many diets in the past but I have never been as successful as I am now. This time I am doing a "watching what I eat diet" paired with excersice 6 times a week and riding 5-6 times per week. I have a neat scale that tells me my fat percentage and muscle percentage as well as a BMI.... Mon, 23 Jan 2012 11:08:47 EST
