This year I am polishing it off with a final 10 pounds to lose and fitness improvement. Wow what a busy week and a half I've had... I didn't lose anything because we were eating out pretty much every day but that's ok with me. It was orientation week so we were busy all day doing fun activities mostly. I think I am supposed to be getting 72 grams or something like that and I am finding this extremely difficult with such limited calorie intake per day. I do get enough when I eat a protein bar in my day but the other days I am struggling I think :/ I want to get enough because I am trying to build my muscle mass. I healed up from my second round of shin splints last week and went for a run Friday and yesterday in my new shoes. I'm bummed today. My left leg has a shin splint and its a bit achy from knee to ankle. I've even taken a liking to running and I never thought I'd say that in my entire life. I did 3.5 miles Friday and 4.6 miles yesterday and it's just so peaceful and relaxing. Maybe I did too much? Yep I bought some asics today at a running store. They did the whole analysis by watching me run on a treadmill and I am a "neutral" runner apparently so they helped me pick some shoes that were appropriate for my running style. The other two types of runners are ones who over pronate or supinate. I visited my aunt, uncle, and cousin's house in Miami. So this is where it gets hard I have found out. He used a pot to cook up the plain popcorn kernels he bought at the store. What you do is you put olive oil at the bottom of the pot so it covers it. Then you put in the kernels and cook it at medium-med high heat and then just shake it up and mix it and simply put a little salt and that's it! No butter and all it is is olive oil which has good fats and is heart healthy. And not to mention whole grain you can get! I am saying yes to that :... Yesterday I almost caught myself emotionally eating because of an argument I had with my dad who can be difficult at times, but I didn't! My whole life my parents have known that I would need to be able to watch my weight (because I have never been one of those skinny girls) and since I was in middle school they have encouraged me to eat healthy and exercise.
