I did 4x400 meter intervals and my AT's are hurting but I'm icing them.

Did not track my food for a couple of days but I did not overeat! I was still committed to this program but its a difficult time of year but I will make it through!

All on all a good day. Mon, 26 Nov 2012 18:31:16 EST I think I did well http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5144925 Went to Miami for Thanksgiving and that made tracking my food difficult. So for the day and a half we we there,I decided not to track. Even tho I did not track my food I was still committed to my program. I ate 3 meals a day and I did not over eat. My food was probably fattier and saltier than I would have cared for but some concessions must be made. Bottom line is that I not go over board. Given the circumstances of the last couple of days that was the best I could do. I think I did... Sat, 24 Nov 2012 09:24:22 EST A Few Days Off http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5142681 I am coming down with a cold. I'm going to Miami for Thanksgiving. These 2 events will prevent me from working out for a couple of days. I will be back at it on Monday. Monday is the official start of training for half #17. I have no choice, for better, for worse training starts Monday.

P.S. Don't over do it on Turkey Day and have a great one. Wed, 21 Nov 2012 14:33:17 EST Commitment Part IV http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5139728 I'm getting a clearer picture of what it means to commit. It's not just enough to say it. You've gotta live it too. I knew it was going to be difficult this weekend at home. But I stuck to the calorie, fat, carb, and protein allotment. But I also ate pecan pie and ice cream. I took a sliver of pie and an actual serving serving size of the ice cream, furthermore I did not have them at the same time! It can be said that I treated myself but I really feel like I cheated myself. Even though... Sun, 18 Nov 2012 21:16:40 EST Weigh In http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5138616 Well, the title says it all. I weighed in today and the dial moved ever so slightly in the right direction. I'm happy about that.

It's the weekend and I'm home. The most I can hope for is maintenance. Not a lot of healthy foods to choose from but it shouldn't stop me from making healthy choices.

Did some research on Achilles' tendon injuries. The best I can come up with is achilles paratendonitis. Rest and ice is the solution. I'll rest for a couple of days and st... Sat, 17 Nov 2012 18:21:14 EST Weigh in coming up http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5137128 I'm going home tonight and I'll be weighing in. The dial better move, even a smidge, in the right direction. There's nothing more discouraging that doing everything you're suppose to do and then not seeing any results at all. That's why I stopped sparkpeople the first go around. That's why I stopped going to weight watchers. That's why I stopped most programs I've tried- no results. I'm not talking about major results in a short amount of time. I'm not talking about unrealistic, unatt... Fri, 16 Nov 2012 07:32:37 EST Good Day! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5136722 I didn't workout and I'm not beating myself up about it either! My Achilles' tendons hurt pretty badly. They hurt bad enough that I decided to take the day off. I'm going home tomorrow so no working out tomorrow either. My body needs the break. I'll run 5-6 miles Saturday.

Food was good. I splurged on chicken Parmesan and I still had to drink a protein shake to bring my calories in range. I hear it's just as important not to undereat as it is not to overeat. I would eat more at... Thu, 15 Nov 2012 19:59:01 EST Committment Part III http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5135234 I think I'll write about committment until I have no more to write about it. After all this is partly what committment means to me.

So I was at the BX and, as at most check out lanes, there was candy staring back at me, winking and calling my name. Well, these poor little candies really looked lonely and seemed in dire need of a home. The mental battle began. Should I adopted the poor little guys or should I leave them to another more suitable home. After going back and fort... Wed, 14 Nov 2012 13:38:04 EST Commitment Part II http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5134041 I didn't realize I had so much to write about committment but apparently, I do.

My commander's secretary and I were talking this morning and she made a good point about my committment. As long as she's known me I've been a runner and I've eaten healthily. To her I seem committed to weight loss. So the question is what is commitment and why can't I lose weight?

If I'm doing everything I'm suppose to do to lose weight that would make me very committed and very successf... Tue, 13 Nov 2012 13:13:04 EST Making a commitment http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5132506 I read on Competitor.com yesterday that the one thing people who lose weight and keep it have in common is that they "commit" to weight loss. This can be as informal as getting a certain amount of fruit and veggies a day to weight at least once a week and more. I've been eating healthy enough for months and the weight doesn't seem to want to leave.

I eat three meals a day, nothing fried, no salt added, usually a lean piece of meat and two servings of non-starchy vegetables for lu... Mon, 12 Nov 2012 09:47:22 EST Better http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2735926 I fount that my caloric intake before joining sp was right on target. The problem is/was my fat consumption. So the best part of this whole thing is that I'm really not watching the numbers that closely but I am much more aware of the fat that I consume. In just a few days I've gotten that under some kind of control. It has made me make better, different choices. I just hope I can keep it up!

Tue, 12 Jan 2010 17:53:21 EST Just getting started http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2721648 I have been working out most of my adult life. I'm no stranger to a gym. I belong to two gyms, in fact. One I've been a member of since 2002 and yes, I use my membership!! The other gym is really a yoga studio. I don't go so much for the cardio/ weight training as I do for the calming affects of yin yoga.

I went to the gym today and did 40 minutes of cardio on the eliptical rider. It was a good workout. I went because sp is keeping me honest and I could have just skipped it... Sat, 9 Jan 2010 23:22:29 EST
