BERI03's SparkPeople Blog BERI03's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community And I'm back! So I went through a little rough patch. Depressed and stressed is how I spent the last couple of weeks. Starting back to work this week really helped. My job has me walking 3 to 5 miles every day, so that helps. Keeps the blood flowing and keeps my mind off other things. I haven't started back up the Zumba classes due to end of school schedule but I don't feel too bad since I am getting up off the couch everyday to come to work.
Slowly we are finding our way to a place without my dad. I... Wed, 23 May 2012 09:22:23 EST A little update Still trying to make a little progress during this difficult time. While I haven't really worked out (I believe stress is a great workout on its own), I have been careful about what I eat. It's amazing how comfort food is full of butter, starch, cheese, sugar, cream, etc. I have been trying to find comfort in the lovely fruit salads people sent, along with spending time with my husband trying new, healthy foods (we discovered a new Japanese restaurant that I think will become our favorite ver... Fri, 18 May 2012 10:37:18 EST It's not the best week... This week has been really hard.
Tuesday I got a phone call at work from a family friend saying "Come quick. Your mom needs you." When I inquired why, she said that my step dad had collapsed at work and was unable to be revived. I immediately dropped everything and rushed to my mother's side to find that my step dad, my dad, my daddy was gone.
I was stunned. Not my dad, who was 10 foot tall and bulletproof. The man who accepted me as his daughter with no reservations when I was 12. ... Fri, 11 May 2012 08:38:07 EST So excited I know it's Monday and normally I'm not excited about a whole lot of things. Today, however, I'm thrilled to know that I have my second Zumba class! We got a new dog yesterday that I think is going to be a great walking companion (my other dog is a great walking companion if I want to work my arms!), I dropped another pound even after spending the weekend not really following a healthy eating plan (although after checking my tracker, I didi better than I thought!)
It's gonna be a great d... Mon, 7 May 2012 09:58:31 EST Saturday! I love logging into SparkPeople on Saturdays and seeing that I've met my fitness minutes goal for the week (1000 calories!) already. I feel like anything I do today is just gravy (icing on the cake, whatever! All these food metaphors!) While I don't have any big plans for exercising today, I will be monitoring my steps and tracking my food. So today's activity is just pudding! It must be time for breakfast! Sat, 5 May 2012 08:09:49 EST Zumba I did my very first Zumba toning class and I have to say it was the most fun I've had working out yet! We will be going many more times! 321 Fri, 4 May 2012 06:55:24 EST Well...
