BEFIT_WITHGUSTO's SparkPeople Blog BEFIT_WITHGUSTO's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community That makes sense! I had my glucose screening done last week and it turns out that I have low blood sugar and I'm anemic. Totally explains why I have been exhausted this entire pregnancy and get dizzy and lightheaded in the mornings before I eat. I'm taking iron supplements now and can't really say that I feel much less tired but hopefully I will start feeling a bit more energetic soon.

Third trimester has begun!

<img src=" Mon, 10 Jul 2017 12:17:40 EST It's been a while Obviously it's been a while since my last post.

That's because exactly a week after my last post, we found out we are having another baby! Grant is going to be a big brother to a little brother! :)

I'm now 25 weeks along and feeling and looking very pregnant. Grant is very excited to be a big brother and he talks about the baby constantly, kisses and sings and talks to my belly and has gone through a few names for the baby like Captain America, Iron Man, Captain Underp... Mon, 26 Jun 2017 17:02:36 EST Being not so strict is not working In my previous blog I said I wasn't being as strict as I have been in the past but I was okay with it...............well, being not so strict is making me not lose any weight! 198

I literally can't even lose a pound. But it's more than just the number, I want to fit comfortably in all my jeans. So, obviously the answer is to get stricter, eat even healthier, and exercise even more. I know what I need to do, I just need to actually do it.

We went on our firs... Thu, 19 Jan 2017 14:30:07 EST Plugging away in Week 2 Plugging away through Week 2! I think I've come to terms with the fact that I just can't be on the strict mindset that I used to be on. It feels like a little bit of a cop out, but it is what it is!

Last week I worked out 3 times (that's my goal but want to work out more), ate out once (very happy with this), only met my water goal 3 days (not good).

Today is my first day at the office for the week so I'll definitely reach my water goal. I did a lower body workout on M... Wed, 11 Jan 2017 11:52:10 EST Day 2 Ehhhh I have to stop eating candy at work! ARrrgg!! I had two white chocolate truffles left at my desk from Christmas and I couldn't not eat them. Then I had 4 twizzlers. All definitely unnecessary!

But I drank about 70 oz of water and did a Cardio Kickboxing workout so I'll call it a so so day.

We have a gym at the Science Park where I work so hopefully I will motivate myself to go during my lunch break. I have all my gym clothes ready, just need to get my butt there!
... Thu, 5 Jan 2017 10:46:48 EST Day 1 Done Yesterday I learned how out of shape I have gotten! I did a few Blogilates workouts and they are tough and I was struggling! Felt good to get back in the swing of things. I didn't meet my water goal but today I'm at work and it's easier to drink more water while I'm here rather than at home.

My new starting weight is up 6 pounds from when I broke my ankle in May so it's not too much weight but enough to make my clothes not fit nicely. I'm going to try to lose 2-3 pounds this month.... Wed, 4 Jan 2017 11:02:17 EST So cliche! So, I'm going to be a total cliche with my New Year's Resolutions. I haven't exercised besides walking the past couple months and we've not eaten the greatest, either. My water intake is pathetic!

My goals are:

Cook and eat healthy meals
Drink at least 64 oz of water a day
Work out at least 3 times a week
Hike at least once a month

Since Grant has been born, we've been on only one family hike together! I used to hike almost every weekend and th... Tue, 3 Jan 2017 14:59:48 EST Yesterday was another Day 1 I did really well in August, exercising more than I have ever since Grant was born. I just took about 2 weeks off - while in MA and this past week in San Diego, so yesterday was another Day 1! I went for a 3 mile walk with Grant and did a great lower body workout. Tonight will be upper body and tomorrow will be abs.

I still have not lost the 5 pounds I put on while injured and I'm not sure they're ever going to come off...or that's what it feels like. My pants are feeling tight and... Wed, 7 Sep 2016 15:19:33 EST Mixing it up I got bored with doing the 10 pound slimdown workouts over and over so last week I mixed it up and started doing Jackie Warner and Cindy Whitmarsh workouts. I really wanted to work on my arms and that I did! I can't seem to lose any weight, which is frustrating, but I do feel like my arms have improved a tad. We're heading to MA tomorrow night and I hope to continue my workouts while I'm there. This is the most consistent I've worked out since before Grant was born and I'm really happy about ... Mon, 22 Aug 2016 12:14:19 EST Weeks 2 and 3 Weeks 2 and 3 weren't as perfect as Week 1 with my workout schedule but I'm pretty okay with that. I'm kind of off the schedule now and just doing whichever 10 Pound Slimdown workout I feel like doing that night. I am back to walking with Grant almost everyday and I was able to paddelboard and hike last week so I'm very happy to be active again after my broken ankle! This morning I was 116.5 pounds so I've lost about a pound or so. The weight definitely isn't coming off as fast as I want but ... Mon, 8 Aug 2016 13:28:28 EST Week 1 Done! Happy to report I did all my Week 1 workouts. Sad to report I didn't lose a pound! I honestly thought about 2 pounds would come off because I didn't think it was real weight that I had gained over Brian's birthday weekend. But those pounds are holding on! I did eat pizza and ice cream on Saturday....but walked 5 miles on Saturday and Sunday. Oh well, going to keep on going!

Week 2 here I come! Mon, 25 Jul 2016 16:36:57 EST So far, so good! Okay, it's only been 2 days but I'm doing well! First night was Upper Body and Last night was Lower Body and Core. I had remembered that Lower Body was the toughest workout of all of them because of all the damn lunges and it was definitely as hard as I remembered. Lunges are not my favorite! Tonight is Total Body.

My starting weight on Monday was 118 pounds, which is up 6 pounds from what I had been for many months, possibly a year. The combination of being sedentary for 2 1/2 mo... Wed, 20 Jul 2016 13:54:32 EST 10 Pound Slimdown So, I was good the first half of the week and then the weekend hit with celebrating Brian's 40th birthday and there was lots of food and drinks consumed and no exercise! I weighed myself this morning and it was not too pretty. I really want to commit to a exercise regime so I've decided to do Chris Freytag's 10 Pound Slimdown which is a 30 day program with workouts around 20 minutes long. Totally do-able!

As far as a Grant update, he is fantastic!! He is now 19 months old. He is s... Mon, 18 Jul 2016 15:53:23 EST Broken ankle The night before Mother's Day I was walking around my living room and I don't even know how it happened but I stepped wrong and my ankle twisted and I fell to the ground. I was in a lot of pain immediately. I iced it and slept on the couch that night with my foot raised. The next morning I couldn't walk and was in excruciating pain. Poor Grant was a little traumatized. We spent a few hours in Urgent Care on Mother's Day and here we are 2 months later and still not fully recovered. It's been s... Wed, 6 Jul 2016 16:25:01 EST Week 2 Still going (pretty) strong with the ST! I didn't do anything on Tuesday or excuses, it was out of plain laziness. When I'm home with Grant, I exercise while he's napping and on the days I'm at work (3 days out of the week), I work out after he's gone to bed. I'm feeling good and right now a little sore after my ST session a few minutes ago.

Today Grant and I are meeting some Spark friends we haven't seen in years! I hope that this will be a regular occurrence again... Sat, 16 Apr 2016 15:05:01 EST I'm doing it! It's only been a week but I'm finally sticking to ST! Like I said in my last entry, I'm doing the April Challenges and they're nothing earth shattering but it's making me get it done and I'm also a little sore! I'm happy. I'm also walking as exercise and cooking healthy meals. I'm actually happy to be back in the kitchen. (I took some pictures of my meals but they're not that pretty so I'll spare you).

Last Saturday we went to the Wild Animal Park for the first time and had a lot ... Thu, 7 Apr 2016 11:38:24 EST This month I'll really do it! Every month I say I'm going to start working out more and every month I do not do it!! I really want that to change in April. I'm going to use these monthly challenges from a few years ago to get my butt in gear.

I don't have any good excuse. I can do these exercises while Grant is napping on the days I'm home with him or after he goes to bed at night.....even though some nights ... Thu, 31 Mar 2016 17:12:49 EST Hello Strangers!! Hi Everyone,

I feel bad that Spark totally fell by the wayside after I had Grant. This site and all the friends I've made on here have been such a big part of my life! I'm going to try to post more often.

Grant is now almost 15 months old!! The time goes by in a blink of an eye. He is so much fun and the light of our lives.

I do not work out as much as I'd like t... Mon, 29 Feb 2016 15:31:55 EST Grant update! Oh my goodness, I knew I had been gone for a while but I didn't realize my last blog was in July!!

Grant is now 10 1/2 months old and our most amazing little buddy. He is hilarious and crazy and just so much fun. All those years when I was longing for a baby and so sad thinking it would never happen....he is so much more than I ever could have imagined in those days! He lights up our whole world.

Here are some pics that are not on Facebook so for those who are my frien... Thu, 22 Oct 2015 18:01:33 EST Where does the time go? I can't believe it has been 2 months since I last blogged!

Grant has grown so much in that time! He is now sitting up perfectly, crawling, pulling himself up on things, and standing assisted!! CRrraazzzy!!

<img src=" Mon, 27 Jul 2015 15:41:02 EST Little update It's absolutely amazing how fast the time is going by!! I'm so conflicted in my emotions about Grant growing and changing so much. On the one hand, obviously it's the most wonderful thing in the world to watch him develop and learn new things every day....on the other hand, I want time to stand still and for him to stay my little baby forever! Do I sound like a crazy mom? haha.

A few recent pics:

<img src=" Fri, 29 May 2015 14:55:32 EST 4 Months! Grant turned 4 months old yesterday! Fri, 10 Apr 2015 17:11:02 EST Progress Pics It's already been a month since my new befores. Seriously, I can't believe how fast time goes by!

I said my goals were to lose 10 pounds (by no specific date), build muscle, drink more water, eat more vegetables, walk with Grant, and workout 4-5 days a week.

I'd say I've been pretty successful! I've lost 3 pounds and (and have been stuck there for a couple weeks), not sure about muscle quite yet, I've definitely been drinking more water (but could still drink more) and e... Wed, 25 Mar 2015 12:41:52 EST Back to work already.... Poof! Just like that, maternity leave is over! 46

The past 3 months with Grant have been absolutely amazing and I wish I could stay home with him forever. It's been awesome watching him grow and change so fast. He smiles and laughs so much and it makes me feel like the most special person in the world when he looks into my eyes and is so happy. He's our little miracle that we waited so long for and we really lucked out by getting such a cute one! :)

On Wedn... Fri, 6 Mar 2015 13:32:20 EST New Befores Grant will be 11 weeks old tomorrow so that means my body is 11 weeks post partum.

The day I went to the hospital to be induced at 41 weeks pregnant, I weighed 146 pounds. The day I came home from the hospital after delivering my 8 pound, 3 ounce cutie, I weighed 130 pounds. And there I have stayed for the past 11 weeks! I don't weigh myself very often but when I have, I've been fluctuating between 128 and 131 pounds. The lowest I saw was 126.

After Grant was born, Bria... Mon, 23 Feb 2015 18:25:55 EST Grant is 10 weeks old already! The time sure is flying by! We just got back from 3 weeks in MA where it snowed the entire time and we only left the house twice! It's amazing how fast Grant is growing up. He's already cutting his first tooth! He still wants to be held 24/7 and now that we're back in San Diego, I have to work on that before I start work again the first week of March (I really, really don't want to go back!) Fortunately, I will be working 2-3 days from home and Brian will be taking his paternity leave on the ... Wed, 18 Feb 2015 19:10:47 EST I actually have both hands free to type a blog! Thanks for those who have checked in on me!

Grant is now 5 1/2 weeks old! Things are getting easier as he's getting older but it's definitely a 24/7 job and I'm sleeping in very short increments. Thu, 11 Dec 2014 12:00:11 EST Stubborn Baby and Yearly Fitness Minutes Wow, Baby G is stubborn! He doesn't want to come out on his own so we're just going to have to make him! Hopefully by this time tomorrow we'll finally have our son in our arms.

Now I'm going to give myself a pat on the back. At the beginning of the year, I set my yearly fitness minute goal to be 15,000. Baby G is 3 days past his due date and not showing any signs of making his appearance any time soon! Crazy!! I still don't think he'll come early or on his due date but obviously there's no predicting. I had my appointment this morning and I was 1cm dilated and 0% effaced but he's dropped and she could feel his head. If he isn't born by the 1st, then I'll go in a couple times next week to be monitored and if anything is amiss, they'll send me to the hospital. ... On Saturday, Brian and I hiked Torrey Pines. It definitely has become a little harder with a 4 pound baby in my stomach but still do-able! :) I hope to do it 2 more times before the baby comes. After he's born, I can't wait to bring him along with us in the Ergo Carrier my friends bought us.

<img src=" Mon, 13 Oct 2014 14:04:37 EST The weeks are just flying by..... There are just 55 days to the due date!!

I definitely feel the 3 1/3 pound baby inside me! If I'm sunken in the couch, I'll need a little boost from Brian to get up. Flipping from side to side in bed takes some effort, too. He's getting bigger and stronger and his movements actually kind of hurt a little. I get a little shock every time he kicks or punches hard. We went to the movies on Sunday night and Brian and I were holding hands and his arm was pressed against my right side. T... Tue, 7 Oct 2014 15:01:12 EST My Highest Weight When I started Sparkpeople in 2009, I was at my highest weight of 137 pounds. Brian and I had such a great time on our babymoon this past weekend. We headed up to Idyllwild on Friday afternoon and checked in to our super cute Bed and Breakfast. We've been having a heatwave in San Diego so even though it was still in the 80's in Idyllwild, it felt a lot cooler than SD.

On Saturday, we attempted to hike Devil's Slide but didn't make it the whole way. Tue, 2 Sep 2014 13:47:29 EST Growing As of my 24 week appointment last Tuesday, I was up 19 pounds. That is 5 pounds above average. I'm trying not to freak out about the weight gain and I know that my body is doing what it needs to do for my baby, but it's still a little annoying! ;) I eat pretty well and exercise daily so at first I thought I wasn't going to change anything. But then I changed my mind. I do eat a lot of carbs so this week I'm focusing on a better balance of carbs and protein and also eating a lot more vegetable... Wed, 20 Aug 2014 12:10:49 EST Shopping Spree! I finally had good luck finding maternity clothes! Thu, 31 Jul 2014 12:24:30 EST Yoga I'm sure you guys remember when I was obsessed with Yoga. I never talked about this, but after my miscarriage last year, I stopped going to Yoga classes and practicing at home. I had mentioned before that sometimes in classes I would get emotional because I would feel so grateful for what my body was capable of, even though at the time I was struggling with infertility and angry at my body a lot of the time. After the miscarriage and the three failed fertility treatments after that, I was sad...
