I've stuck with my workout routine, and increased it to 10 minute workouts 5x/week. I'm attempting a 30-day ab challenge that I got from Facebook on top of it! My husband is doing great at decreasing his soda consumption and increasin... Thu, 5 Feb 2015 01:07:53 EST Weekend Weakness I find weekends particularly difficult. At work I can control my portions very well, partly because I can limit the foods that are accessible to me. At home ... well, sometimes I snack without thinking, there is a large supply of food available, and there are few incentives to control myself when I feel entitled to relax after a hard week!

I'm thinking that I need to pre-package my snacks at home, so they are easy to grab and easy to control. I recently bought some small circu... Mon, 22 Oct 2012 16:34:34 EST Time Wasters I'm trying out SparkCoach, and my assignment for today is to blog about the time wasters I have throughout the day.

I would have to say that FACEBOOK is the biggest time waster for me. It's all too easy for me to get lost among the interesting posts, or an article that someone linked to, or to get stuck playing one of the games, etc. etc. I find that on days that I actively avoid Facebook I get a LOT done!

Random flights of fancy on the internet are also big time w... Fri, 19 Oct 2012 09:44:42 EST Back in the Game! Long time, no post! After graduating with my BS in psychology, starting a new job and simultaneously starting grad school, SparkPeople fell to the wayside for me. But now I'm back in the game! I forgot how much I enjoyed it! I have gotten my eating mostly back under control, and I feel amazing. 341

I'm working out mostly in fitness classes this semester. After talking with a (former) personal trainer I have also decided to really focus on toning my upper body with w... Thu, 29 Mar 2012 11:52:14 EST New semester, new clothes, no sanity! I managed to stick with my jogging throughout the summer, and gradually worked my way up to a 30 minute jog every-other day.

Consequently, I'm looking and feeling better than I have since high school! I've had to buy new work clothes because all of the ones I wore last year (I work at a university, so my "year" = August-May) fall off now! That's a great feeling. I'm back into my high school size!!

I think the best thing that's happened to me is the sense of power an... Wed, 7 Oct 2009 15:04:04 EST Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes! Well, yesterday marked 1 week at for me. I've checked in every day, kept track of my meals and exercise, browsed recipes, and joined groups. Has it helped? Heck yeah!

Already I can tell a difference in the way I think. I don't view food as a rival - now I just look forward to combining different foods to reach my nutrition goals!
Having a water counter is great too. While I still have to have my daily Diet Dr. Pepper (caffeine addict), I keep a 24 oz. wate... Tue, 21 Apr 2009 15:07:08 EST Day One Alright self, this is the day!
No more getting motivated only to slip back into bad habits two days later.
No more chocolate binges.
No more excuses not to exercise.
Starting right now, I'm committed to living a healthier life!

Oh, and don't forget to tell hubby about this site.

Self out!
