BEACHBUMCRY's SparkPeople Blog BEACHBUMCRY's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community First loss in a long time Doing the happy dance here, down 6 pounds since 8-12-15. That number might not seem big but it is huge to me, it's the first lost pounds in a few years, well since my last time at SP. I told myself to take baby steps this time, make small changes, take it day by day and that is what I am doing. Yesterday was busy I didn't track everything before I would beat myself up, now I tell myself that is ok each day is a new day, a fresh start.
In the last year and a half I have worked hard on my... Thu, 27 Aug 2015 14:49:01 EST Camping Although I am more of a beach person with a little thicker mattress I could have happily hibernated longer in the forest. Walked the campground circuit each day, walked the woods to gather sticks and branches to burn, hiked for about 3 hours, walked to and from the lake up and down inclines. Even as out of shape as I am after just a short rest I'd be ready to go again, nature seems to have a way of recharging me that I just can't seem to find in town. <img src="http://photosaws.sparkpeople.c... Mon, 24 Aug 2015 17:45:14 EST I did it! First off, wowza am I out of shape, I knew I had backpedaled way back but wow just wow! My legs are still a little sore from my leg workout Tuesday, so last night I pushed the upper body and my arms are feeling it tonight, so I decided some cardio was in order. In the interest of expanding horizons and not staying in my crappy little box of comfortability tonight for the first time in eons (I think it's been over a decade) I rode a bike! I really didn't think that I could it's been so long a... Fri, 19 Jul 2013 00:59:34 EST Beginning again Today was my first workout in...well I can't even remember how long it's been, and it felt good. I will not berate myself or look back at where I was. I will start here fresh and new!

I may be doing this alone but that's ok because I am doing this for me, for the real me, the me that is buried so deep that she has to fight just to draw a breathe. The me that so desperately wants out, and I will set her f... Tue, 30 Aug 2011 01:34:45 EST My week Aug 21-27, 2011 I only worked out 5 days last week 24 my silly ankle decided to tweak and slow me down. I am happy to say though that it did not stop me. I did not use it as an excuse, the first day it hurt I did rest, but walked the next day, I was just very careful how I set my foot.

I walked a total of 4.3 miles, a little short of my 5 mile a week goal, but 4.3 more than I walked any other week :)

Still did not get 8 glasses of water in every day 234 . Mon, 22 Aug 2011 00:43:09 EST Thank you I joined Sparkpeople mostly to see what it was like, I really didn't think it was possible to change my life, I truly thought I was too far gone. I believed with out winning the lottery and having some miracle surgery the weight and self loathing at letting myself get obese was just something I would have to live with. Since joining SP I have mostly been a lurker, much the same as I am in real life, if I am quiet no one will notice me and I won't feel embarrassed and ashamed. Which never work... Wed, 17 Aug 2011 00:31:40 EST Recovered Sodaholic Today makes 170 days since I had my last soda, which for me is a huge accomplishment. I routinely downed 2 or more 44 oz Pepsi or Mtn Dews a day, it was the first thing I grabbed in the morning and the last thing I drank before bed. Sodaholic for sure, and major soda cravings when I went cold turkey, for well over a month I wanted a soda soooooo, sooooo bad but then poof at some point I'm not even sure when no more dying for a soda.
The other day I forgot my water bottle at home it was w... Thu, 21 Jul 2011 01:26:41 EST Procrastination There are many ways to avoid success in life, but the most sure-fire just might be procrastination. Procrastinators sabotage themselves. They put obstacles in their own path. They actually choose paths that hurt their performance. Procrastination may result in stress, a sense of guilt and crisis, severe loss of personal productivity, as well as social disapproval for not meeting responsibilities or commitments. These feelings combined may promote further procrastination."

Hello my ... Thu, 24 Mar 2011 02:48:14 EST 2 weeks It has been 2 weeks since I joined SP, I enjoy being here and love how helpful SP is. I am also so proud of myself that tracking my food is becoming a habit, and I am even enjoying it. Being here is helping me make wiser choices and knowing I will be tracking what I eat has helped curb my mindless eating. I am still fighting the emoitional and stress eating demons but feel them losing their power over me every day. Finally feeling, after all these years, like I am gaining control over myself ... Tue, 8 Mar 2011 00:39:22 EST First I am happy to say that I logged my first 12 minutes of exercise.
All evening I've had the munchies, not uncommon for Sundays, the stress of knowing the weekend is over and work is right around the corner. Instead of reaching for something/anything to put in my face exercised, folded clothes, let the dogs out, let the dogs in and poof no more munchie urges! 2 small hurdles jumped in one night woohoo.
Mon, 7 Mar 2011 01:58:08 EST Tired Been a busy last 2 days, especially today.
Had oatmeal for breakfast went to work and bam! Busy, busy, lunch was a handi snack - crackers and cheese, if you can call that lunch. Didn't even have time to drink much water, no 8 glasses today, I am so tired I can barley keep my eyes open. Thank goodness it's the weekend, even though I know it's bad I fully intend to sleep in on Saturday.
Lesson for the day no lunch & no water = no energy.

Positive note for the day it has be... Sat, 5 Mar 2011 00:25:10 EST Cranky Day All I can say is not this was not a very good day, but on the positive side when I reached for food to get past stress/anger/frustration my first thought was gotta track it and that made me stop and think. Am I hungry? no. Do I want to eat that just to feel better? Yes. Is it worth it? NO!! It feels like a step in the right direction and that feels good.
213 Wed, 2 Mar 2011 01:15:46 EST Hello This is the first Blog I have ever written, even as a kid I didn't keep a diary it was all kept in my head. Here I am mid thirties and spreading my wings trying new things, trying to make positive changes in my life. I am not comfortable with the unknown, which explains the giant rut I have been stuck in for years (well maybe a decade or so). So here it goes a leap over my imaginary lines out of my box and into the great wide open. I will change my life, I will get healthy, I will lose weig... Tue, 1 Mar 2011 00:36:36 EST
