There is truly something for everyone! All difference kinds of folks, different lifestyles, different backgrounds, different continents! What an incredible community we are all a part of. All of us heading in the same direction - focusing on a healthy lifestyle, finding like-minded folks who can encourage each of us in our food choices, exercise options an... Thu, 6 May 2010 22:34:56 EST Never known a fire that didn't start without a little spark of flame...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3195781 My May goal is to exercise for at least 20 minutes of cardio DAILY!!!! So far so good. Tuesday is our down day (or it has been lately) - we eat something I pick up on the way home from work, and we usually watch a movie together - just me and my two boy-type teenagers (it is usually some blow em up-shoot em up something or other.) It is so easy for me to come home and vege all evening - usually 100% couch time!

Today.....TODAY was different!! I still picked up some dinner on t... Tue, 4 May 2010 23:28:36 EST I'm BAAAACCCCKKKK!!! Life Happens!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3182730 I have to say April was a crazy month! Lots of stuff going on - much of it good but also a distraction to keeping up with things on SP. I am working on the balance of things in my life.

I know life happens so I am continually realizing that I have to find what works for me and my family and still stay on track with a healthy lifestyle. I have joined the SP May Challenge so am excited about the consistency and accountability of that challenge. My goal for this month is to exercis... Thank you so much!! Y'all are awesome!!! (Can't tell I'm from Texas can you??! :) )

I finished the "race"!! That was my goal...to finish! I mostly walked, but learned a whole lot about the mental side of these things!! My family was there at the finish line to cheer me on and it was wonderful!

Two days later, my shins are still screaming - I usually run/walk on a treadmill, so this road running busine... Tue, 6 Apr 2010 10:42:44 EST Fast Break Strategy #5-Keeping Goals in the Top of your Mind http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3068474 Since I have just begun this SP journey, I am getting these Fast Break Stage emails every other day or so. There is lots of good info in them - like the rest of the SparkPeople site! The Subject line of the email said "Losing your momentum? Tips to stay motivated." It kind of surprised me that some folks may be losing momentum this early in the game. Then as I was pondering this concept for a bit, I realized that in just about every other attempt I have made, I did the same thing.
... Thu, 1 Apr 2010 09:55:28 EST My thoughts seem to be changing...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3066249 Today was one of those days that so much stuff was going on that when you finally sit down, you wonder how you actually got all of that stuff done! This is, of course, a good thing....to get things done, I mean.

Through all of the craziness today, I was in a training seminar this morning, then went to pick up the puppy from the vet (poor baby got his rabies shot today, but he likes the jingle of the rabies tag on his collar!), took him home, ate a yummy healthy sandwich then fin... Wed, 31 Mar 2010 17:57:17 EST The Mayonnaise Jar http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3060494 A great reminder of the priorities!! Most of you have seen this before but a little reminder never hurts.....

The Mayonnaise Jar

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
When 24 hours in a day is not enough;
remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class
and had some items in front of him.

When the class began, wordlessly,
he picked up a very large and empty ma... Tue, 30 Mar 2010 11:27:22 EST Tough day-yesterday!! But today is a new day..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3060072 Well, yesterday was my first weigh in. I had weighed mid-week last week and had "lost" 2 lbs. On Monday morning - those 2 lbs had found their way back to me! UGGGHHH! It seemed to set the tone for the entire day! Tough staff meeting in the morning, forgot my phone at home, etc......... BUT I did go home and run/walk (and walked an extra 1/4 mile-ok I did it for the extra sparkpoints!-but I did it!) This is true confessions right! I am supposed to be honest with ya'll and with myself! <B... Tue, 30 Mar 2010 09:40:57 EST Here I go!!.....Again with the food.... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3050904 Well, I have never actually blogged about anything. It certainly is not for the lack of something to say as I usually have an opinion about just about everything, just ask my kids!!
I wanted to use this vehicle though as an avenue for encouragement. Today really is the first day of the rest of your life - while this has become a rather overused phrase, really ponder it. It is so far reaching!!! Really look at all of the areas of your life. Most of the people on SP are trying to lose... Sat, 27 Mar 2010 22:47:31 EST
