Excuses http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5246914 Oh, I am the queen of excuses. I can come up with almost any excuse not to workout. The main reason is just because I'm lazy or I get down in the dumps & the last thing I want to do is workout... when in all reality working out would get me out of that slump and into a good mood. I am so glad I have my husband to push me to go to the gym when I really don't want to because I always feel better that I went in the end. I'm in a better mood. And the final result is that much closer. :) Tru... Mon, 11 Feb 2013 20:38:47 EST Crossfit http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5239415 I love it!! What can I say... I drank that Kool-Aid. My husband has been doing it for a few years and I never understood how anyone could workout so hard to the point where they were going to lose their lunch. I started Crossfit back in June... I hated it. It was a chore. I use to hope my husband would come up with ANY excuse not to go... I didn't mind being sick because then I knew I could get out of going... but, then a month ago the whole family got sick. We were out of the gym for 2... Tue, 5 Feb 2013 22:16:24 EST My return http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5195692 Wow! I haven't posted a blog since Sept. 2009. Where have I been?? Oh yea, preggo & far too busy/not so motivated with a 9 month old. But, it dawned on me that her first birthday is about 3 months away & I am nowhere near my pre-baby weight. That hit me like a brick wall. I am back and trying to get my butt in gear. I have been doing crossfit, but can commit to it for long periods of time whether it is because we're too busy to make it to the gym or we're sick... it's always something.... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 20:01:51 EST The Roller Coaster ride called Weight Loss... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2382888 Ok, I know I just posted a blog about how happy I was to fit into a size 6... and don't get me wrong, I still am... but, boy, the mood swings that losing weight (or attempting to) brings with it. So, here's my story:

Not 24 hours after I posted my oh-so-happy blog, I bump into an old friend of mine from Pennsylvania who was vacationing in Vermont this weekend (I haven't seen her in a year at which time we were both 143 pounds). We started our weight loss journey together... she c... Tue, 8 Sep 2009 13:31:25 EST From a 16 to a 6 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2373228 Wowzers... Sometimes it takes a lot of hard work to start noticing some results. Other times, it comes as easy as going shopping! A coworker of mine told me that one of the local stores was having great sales, so I stopped down after work to check it out. I saw a cute pair of pants and decided that I should really pick up a pair in my size, since all of my other pants require a belt these days. The problem was, I didn't really know what my size was, so I grabbed a 6 and an 8 & headed to t... Fri, 4 Sep 2009 10:39:32 EST Week 1... Goal Met! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2086756 So, I've come to the conclusion that although it's good to have a weight goal to obtain, it is equally as important to have a workout goal to meet. So, for this week I have set my goal to do cardio 5 days a week and strength training 3 days & I knew if I stuck to it during my work week, I would be less likely to fail with the weekend. I admit there were days I didn't want to work out, but thinking about the guilt I would feel if I didn't workout was more difficult to bear than just getting ... Sat, 23 May 2009 11:11:45 EST The benefits of breaking up your cardio... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2076529 Wow... how quickly workout minutes add up when you break it up throughout the day. I did 73 minutes of cardio today!!! I spent 30 minutes during my lunch break walking around town at a fast pace. It was great therapy, too, because boy was I having a stressful day. The weather was perfect and I couldn't have thought of a better way to spend my hour lunch break.

After work I went to the gym to get my strength training in & decided to run on the treadmill for 25 minutes when I fin... Tue, 19 May 2009 20:13:00 EST Boot Camp Day 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1665561 I wanted to get my 30 minutes of cardio in, so like yesterday, I worked out during my lunch break at work (I failed to mention that I did that in my last blog)... I walked 2 miles in 35 minutes on the treadmill and was exhausted by the end of it today... Did I mention I only got 2 hours of sleep last night? I managed to get the Day 3 video in and I have to admit, I hate arms!!! But, Coach Nicole made this video enjoyable and attainable! And besides, it's only 7 minutes long. The biggest c... Tue, 6 Jan 2009 20:05:41 EST Boot Camp Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1665540 Whew... what a challenge! I incorporated today's video into my circuits... This made it even more challenging and made my workout very long! I did it twice through. I can't say I was a fan of the single leg squats, but I could feel the results imediately! I got on the treadmill after my workout (as usual), but was able to push myself to run a full 30 minutes (a new goal met for me). I always had difficulty in high school running the mile test so I was extremely proud of myself to be able... Tue, 6 Jan 2009 20:01:58 EST Boot Camp Day 1 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1665504 Although I am on track with the bootcamp workouts, I am a little behind on updating my blog to reflect everything. Let me just start out by saying that I LOVED the Day 1 kickboxing video. I would love to see a longer version of it! Although challenging, it was a lot of fun and I think I will return to it throughout this challenge when feeling ambitious and wanting to push myself a little further on certain days! I know this is going to be a challenge (that's the concept, isn't it?), but I... Tue, 6 Jan 2009 19:55:11 EST Just a smidge away! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1648831 It's amazing to think of the journey I've been on for the past 2 years. I have struggled with my weight my entire life, but I learned in college that if I focus on it and really set my heart to being healthy, I can do it. When I met my husband I, like many women, got comfortable and settled down... he has a metabolism like nothing else I've ever seen and for some reason I thought I could keep up with his food intake. Boy was I wrong. I gained 50 pounds in a matter of about 2 years and it ... Sat, 3 Jan 2009 16:46:55 EST Meeting my goal for the day http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1263113 Well, the one day challenge for today was to blog and here I am... It appears that I haven't blogged since February 2007... WOW so much has changed... I got into that wedding dress... I hadn't lost the amount of weight I had wanted to, but I will say it was much looser than when I originally tried it on. There are pictures on my page if you want to see the wedding... It was the perfect day.

After a few months of not paying attention to what I'm doing, I'm getting back on track. I... Wed, 11 Jun 2008 07:42:33 EST My Wedding Dress http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=442207 So, every so often (when I feel like I'm having a good day), I will put my wedding dress on and see how much bigger it has gotten on me... I'm really hoping to get the reaction from the seamstress (when it comes time to have it alterred) that I bought a dress that's way too big for me!!! Anyway, when I put it on today, I could see that it would need to be taken in quite a bit. When I put it on in the store a month ago, it fit me perfectly!! I'm very happy to see the progress I have made...... Sun, 25 Feb 2007 16:42:28 EST
