ARSALLOT's SparkPeople Blog ARSALLOT's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community On week 3 of walkin' Kinda proud of myself to still be doing it. Wed, 6 Feb 2013 10:33:04 EST ab workouts suck They suck soooo bad. I am so weak LOL. Well I did walk the lake again. One time around, though. My heart must have not been in it because it still took me 20min from the front door and back. Yesterday walked it twice around and made it back in 25min. I really didn't want to do it though...

I figured "If you don't do it, are you going to skip tomorrow too?" Yes. That's how it goes with me. If I miss a walk or workout it's easy for me to miss the next, then the next...

Goi... Thu, 24 Jan 2013 20:08:51 EST Wii active= Me active Wii active 30 day challenge. 18 exercises in 20 minutes. whew. Gonna walk the lake at lunch. Then ab training after work again. Gotta break it up since I can't do anything in a one hour stretch. Time seems to be the issue. It'll be OK though. Thu, 24 Jan 2013 07:37:03 EST reward My next 10 lb loss I am going to get me a set of nice PJs. I mean, something more then a $10 special. My last 12lbs will be reward itself. I will look awesome come time to take my picture with Norman Reedus, among others. That's the big reward. Going out and buying the perfect frame for my cubicle. hehe. Can't wait. Wed, 23 Jan 2013 14:46:09 EST Still have 22 more lbs to go, but I have a NEW goal and motivation So I haven't gained more then a couple of pounds since I fell off the wagon. Good. I'm staying somewhat active enough and not eating the ways I used to.

I have new motivation. Not good motivation, but new. In 124 Days I will meet one of my favorite celebs at a convention (as long as he doesn't cancel some have done that in the past, I hear). Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead (Daryl Dixon). There will be other guests and more to come, but that's who I paid the big bucks for to have... Sun, 20 Jan 2013 09:20:27 EST "Funny how you can feel skinny one day, and the next.." "Funny how you can feel skinny one day, and the next day like a busted can of biscuits."

HA HA HA. This has had my hubby and I rolling all week. Saw it on facebook. Though, the sad thing...IT IS SOOOO TRUE.

Celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary, and got our pictures taken at a novelty place. You pick a theme: western, Victorian, Civil War, Pirate, and gansters. 14 years ago we did western, soooo we did it this year...

My, how bloated, old, and tired we l... Sun, 23 Sep 2012 20:48:14 EST New Wellness plan? My husband's insurance company has offered free services. I've just completed one for diabetics (even though I'm not really there yet). Anyways, they called and gave me another list to choose from....weight loss was on it. So I had my first phone appt Thurs. I gave her a mini health history talking about my insulin resistance and my goals.

She gave me a lot of info. She also has suggested I eat Low Glycemic Index foods. Which seems to be lower carb food. Also she advised to always ... Sat, 8 Sep 2012 07:47:49 EST you guys are so sweet Just sayin' Thu, 6 Sep 2012 07:56:53 EST Have you ever been in a FUNK? Blech. All weekend I have felt fat, lazy, slobby, and just plain icky. Almost depressed, but not really. Kind of a waste of a weekend when you don't feel like yourself.

Just weird is all. Mon, 3 Sep 2012 09:30:24 EST 23lbs to go...worried about sagging skin I know this is a common concern, but I'm worried that my belly is going to sag. I know that saggy is better then overweight. I really do. One of the perks of getting to an ideal weight, though, is being able to wear a bikini with out feeling embarrassed.

Would I wear a bikini in public? Probably not, I just want to be able to. Do I wanna wear midrift exposing shirts to the gym no, but I want to feel that I could while feeling fantastic.

Both pregnancies left me with al... Sun, 26 Aug 2012 08:58:46 EST ...and I ran. I downloaded a new app, this is my first paid app. Zombies, Run.

"You tie your shoes, put on your headphones, take your first few steps outside. You’ve barely covered a hundred yards when you hear them. They must be close.

You can hear every gutteral breath, every rattling groan - they’re everywhere. Zombies. There’s only one thing you can do: Run!"

It is exciting, and really does immerse you in the story. Anything helps, right?

<img... Mon, 16 Jul 2012 11:04:37 EST Gonna try and track again I'm gonna try to track food again...Any tips to speed up the process greatly appreciated. I shop off brands for many of my foods, and have found many of the member added foods (fitting my description in the search) can be really different then the label on my box of such/such brand of cheese crackers. So I end up creating my own.

Very tedious, that's why I haven't tracked for more then 3 days at a time. So anything tips to speed up the process so I can be successful would be grea... Thu, 21 Jun 2012 19:44:23 EST Thanks guys I will look at the website. And I'm glad to hear everyone's feedback. The black bean burgers are really good. You know it's not meat, but you don't mind. If that makes since.

My doc's nurse seemed a little shady :( I finally spoke with her, and she told me to come pick up a sample of glumetza...I asked if it was metformin, and she said she wasn't sure. I then asked her if she could tell me what my dosage was the last time, she said, ya but it's not the same medication.....
<B... Thu, 14 Jun 2012 16:54:05 EST I've been around Where have I been!!! Time flies.

Well, I've been training at my new job. LOVE IT. I love being a paper pusher.
Haven't been totally lazy, but could do more stuff more often. Last week's family zumba was fun and Tuesday's run was good, but haven't done much since.

Got my results back from the doc. My fasting sugar is up from last time at 117 (was 107) and my insulin is up to 27.1. ( don't know the norm, if anyone knows, let me know. I thought I read something about ... Sat, 9 Jun 2012 15:44:05 EST Been a while, huh? Busy busy...Well I haven't been going to the gym often, but have stayed active. Last night we "discovered" the beauty of Hollis Gardens....I kept telling hubby that there's gotta be something to do in this town. Finally we were exploring. Wed, 9 May 2012 06:57:55 EST Elliptical 30min Felt great to go today, only a half hour, but I needed it. Probably wont see it tomorrow. Dentist at 8 work at 10 till 7:30, but Wednesday is looking good. Mon, 9 Apr 2012 17:16:53 EST Another new begining I will be back on schedual Monday at the YMCA. I think my back is 100%. The 23rd I start my new position, but next week I am going full time. Yay. Fri, 6 Apr 2012 20:41:10 EST Gotta get back to it My back is almost 100%, I gotta get back to the gym. Gotta make my body stronger. Sun, 1 Apr 2012 08:06:09 EST Grat me. I GOT THE JOB... Thank you for all your support, guys. You are awesome. I GOT THE JOB. I am bursting with joy. This feels so right, and I am so happy. Thank you. Wed, 28 Mar 2012 21:33:11 EST Thanks guys Aquagirl, we need to meet up at the Y soon. After my back heals ofcoarse.

Rawhide, you are awesome, just so you know. I didn't know if he said the interview was professional as a joke because we were all laughing and talking. It felt, to me, more like meeting a group for the first time just to get to know them. It didn't feel like a job was dangling in front of me. Of coarse there was some Q and A. They are very talented making sure the person in the "hot seat" (I swear that's wh... Sat, 24 Mar 2012 11:25:13 EST ouch, my back I irritated my lower back this week by sitting crossed legged for hours. I didn't realize the pain until I uncrossed them. So over the week it has gotten worse, because I've worked everyday.

Promising news, though. One of yesterday's interviewer (the VP of the department) called my boss this morning to ask about me. Rumor has it, that isn't common practice unless they are interested. So we will see. I sent my "thank you" email yesterday, and got a reply back from one of the interv... Fri, 23 Mar 2012 19:44:33 EST I think it went well I think this interview went well, also. I have heard that I have ALOT of competition on this one. They have a 0% turn over rate, they are a growing department. Good thing is if I don't get it, in June they are moving to a bigger area. To accommodate more people? Maybe I'll get another shot. Thu, 22 Mar 2012 20:38:04 EST Well, this is just funny... We get a call today from corporate, my boss answers. She comes out of her office, and says "Amber, it's not bad enough that you applied for Loss Prevention, but Dealer Direct, too?"
"So can you interview at 9 tomorrow?"

This position came up a week or two before Loss Prevention, I thought I had already been passed over, and they had already done their thing. Apparently not.

I am too exhausted to even stress about this one. I haven't heard anything back from yester... Wed, 21 Mar 2012 15:22:12 EST Today was the big day I found out the reason they "had" to see me today....They did all the interviews today and was making their decision today or tomorrow.

I feel that it went really well. My only concern is, you know when you hear a bunch of bands in one night? The first one sounds great, you're pumped, and excited. By the time you get to the last few don't remember the first. So even though it went well, I'm afraid I might be forgotten if someone just as good was towards the end of th... Tue, 20 Mar 2012 19:06:14 EST thanks all tomorrow is the interview.... Tomorrow is my interview, at 7:30 am. They wanted to see me tomorrow now matter what I guess. My boss told them I was schedualed 8-5 for sales training in the same building.

I don't know why so eager on their part. They do not know me. I have never worked with anyone in that building. I hope it's a good sign, and that it's not just squishing all the candidates in as quick as possible.

I need to shine. I don't want to be the first one interviewed, and then quickly forgo... Mon, 19 Mar 2012 17:53:03 EST Need prayer for God's willl, and grace to accept it. I applied for another department with my company, and they want to interview me. I have never been to an internal interview before. I am really nervous. I really want this job. I have been wanting to plant myself firmly with this company, and I think I can do it in this department. I know I want my career here. It is a wonderful company to work for.

So, I pray for God's will on this one, and if rejected the grace to accept it and move on. Any tips for the interview is appreciate... Sun, 18 Mar 2012 14:44:25 EST you guys are soo awesome I love you, my spark people friends. I have a lot of down moments, and then I blog. And there you are picking me back up and dusting off my bottom. Thank you.

Basic step was awesome last night, by the way, and my hubby actually went with me, he won't go to the class, but he was on the elliptical when I got done. Yay. A good step forward. When we got home he said, "Now I'm hooked, I can see me going there on my days off."

We are now on the same page. Fri, 16 Mar 2012 13:20:07 EST False Accomplishment. Gained a whopping 4lbs in the last week and a half. GAINED I didn't loose that "safe" 1 or 2 lbs. I GAINED 4. Yesterday was the first day I really worked on weight training. Most everything else has been cardio. I have watched (and even tracked most) of my food intake. I slipped up maybe twice at dinner.

Yesterday I felt soooooo freaking good, and just "knew" I've lost atleast 1 & 1/2lbs because I've working so hard. I've been trying to encourage my husband too. HOW CAN I BE SO E... Thu, 15 Mar 2012 08:49:38 EST PEP Trainer kicked my butt. Wow, it was rough. He pushed me hard today. Looking forward to basic step tomorrow. Wed, 14 Mar 2012 17:45:28 EST Went to gym to let out today's frustrations. Rough day at work, and a family member hurt my feelings over the weekend. sigh. So, I did some cycling, wieght lifting, I swam a couple laps, and cooled down in the therapy pool. Now I am tired. Mon, 12 Mar 2012 22:49:20 EST PEP Trainer I had a wonderful session today. Eric showed me how all the weight machines work, and now I know how to use the "video game" bike. Also found out why my hips hurt when I work on the elliptical ....did you know that you can adjust the stride??? Me neither.

Anyways, I am now more confident about using the weights. Some of those machines looked so alien and, well, rather painful. Not so scary now. Today was a learning day, so due to time and soaking it all in, I didn't do an actual ... Fri, 9 Mar 2012 18:48:51 EST Thanks for the info Well, we did sign up for it. Thanks everyone who replied. I have an appointment with a PEP trainer on Friday to learn the equipment. I did the eliptcle yesterday and today, because I know how to work those. Thursday I'm going to the basic step class. I'll let ya'll know how I like it. Do I have to have my own "steppers"?

Tue, 6 Mar 2012 12:45:59 EST Hubby has suggested joining the YMCA It's odd, because when I suggested it, it cost too much money. Well, I guess it's his idea now, and we are going to give it a go with the promise that if it is not used, we cancel it pronto.

Maybe paying for something will get our butts moving. Plus with the family plan, we can swap out with kids. One of us swim with kids while other works out, then swap. Would be fun for them. They have classes too. I'm really interested in their step classes. David is interested in their gym equ... Mon, 5 Mar 2012 07:20:23 EST struggling Feeling discouraged and I have lost momentum. I know it is because of the weight gain.

I feel like I am forever whining, but I grew up learning to talk things out. So alot of good gets left out on "paper ". Ugh. Then all the not so fuzzy feelings get compiled into one messy pile.

I need a burst of something...
Fri, 27 Jan 2012 21:42:22 EST keep gaining I have gained 3lbs in the last few weeks ugh! Wed, 25 Jan 2012 20:47:47 EST Slippery Slope, but gaining traction... Yesterday wasn't good for my eating. I had a church pot luck, and a birthday party to go to, and I worked in the morning. So eating what I SHOULD and WHEN didn't go well.

I didn't have nutrition lables to look at for what I ate, so I had to do educated guesses. Time was an issue because everything was right after eachother. Keeping track of time was a little hard.

GOOD NEWS though at both events I did NOT splurge on sweets. I don't trust myself yet, to take in moderat... Sun, 22 Jan 2012 08:30:18 EST Link and Balance Diet.... Picked up a book called The insulin resistance diet, also known as the link and balance diet I found out as I started reading the book.

I'm insulin resistant, and when I first got diagnosed I saw a nutritionist. The Link and Balance Diet seems to be what she was trying to teach me, but in the form of a book. The two times I've seen nutritionist (the other for gestational diabetes) they both stressed on the 30g carb per meal 15g per snack. They didn't talk much about protien intake.... Fri, 20 Jan 2012 22:50:32 EST RE: Food Tracking Thanks, all. I knew I would get different answers, and that's good.

Slenderella, I read articles stating that as well. That's why I am concerned about my lack of doing it.

Kurs, thank you. I've just been trying to make healthier choices. I know that a turkey sandwich with a salad is better then a cheeseburger with fries. The swapping has a made a considerable impact in my weightloss journey. It's good to know that I'm not alone or a complete failure, for that matt... Wed, 18 Jan 2012 16:41:52 EST Food Tracking I can not seem to do that. I want to, but buying all of the stuff on the SP meal plan is not in my budget. Example: shrimp, salmon, 4 different kinds of cheeses etc... so I have to modify, ALOT.

So with modification comes calculations, and in my experience almost adding the item/recipe from scratch. You know, each ingredient's calorie value, fat, protein, etc... I do not have the time or patience to do that. I tried.

Also I do not buy name brand, so I have to add in... Tue, 17 Jan 2012 19:11:39 EST Thanks all I wish I could come to more team events, I'm always working when we have them.
I wish my hubby would get on the spark wagaon, but atleast he is trying to be active, and eat better. So I have more support now then I used to. We are both horrible at skipping workouts though..We do find other things to do, but they don't burn as much as a job on the elipticle or zumba session, but it's not completely bad. I can be thankful we are not constantly skipping workouts to play video games or watch... Tue, 17 Jan 2012 07:39:32 EST Happy Birthday to ME (with pics) I had the most wonderful birthday. I went for a walk with my pup, Brandy this morning. Then my boss took me out to lunch. YUM. I then went to Kohls, paid the card off, then charged more, LOL. I had to buy something for dinner tonight LOL

I have lost 20 lbs since last December. Total since my heaviest...28lbs I believe.

Top and jeans are new.

We went to dinner (Texas Cattle Co.), the... Fri, 13 Jan 2012 23:20:20 EST Ok well I got that new monitor only to have my computer crash a week later.....So, been sharin' hubby's.

BTW Zumba is wierd, during it I start wondering if it will ever end. Then the next day I can't wait to do it. I look forward to doing it, and I think it's fun when I'm not doing it....

So does this mean I like it? Even though I want it to end after the 3rd song?
Tue, 3 Jan 2012 15:58:43 EST aww thanks guys No, huge snickers bar made it in my mouth...maybe a chocolate covered cherry or two..but no over sized nutty sweet lard bar.

I miss my computer...I have it set the way I want it, it has all my budget and bill info. Good news though, a guy in HR at work is going to drop off an old monitor tomorrow at my branch. So I can atleast use my computer until I can afford another flat screen.

anywho thank you guys for being concerned. ya'll are sweet and I appreciate it. Tue, 29 Nov 2011 07:08:23 EST I'm such a drama queen I got mad at someone (AT&T) on the phone and threw it....right into my flat screen HD computer monitor......ARRRRG. shattered. I am on hubby's computer. blech. I'm such a ***insert profanity here*** I don't think I've ever been this angry at myself...or atleast not for a really LOOOONG time. I think I'm going to go find a good size snickers bar. LOL Sun, 27 Nov 2011 14:02:44 EST Happy Thanksgiving Hope everyone had a happy and safe day today. I had a wonderful day. Overindulged, but was enjoyable. Goodnight all. Thu, 24 Nov 2011 21:58:19 EST Here at work, wanting to munch but I won't. I have a creole grouper dinner with spinach salad waiting at home. yum Tue, 8 Nov 2011 18:11:51 EST When I fall off I FALL OFF Ugh, I fell off the wagon. I stopped exercising, eating right, checkin in on SP, all of it for the last week or two. And boy, I've gained, I'm sluggish, and I'm a little disappointed and slightly disgusted with myself.

It's my own fault. I can't blame anyone. I had the time to work out. I had the choices of what to eat. I easily talked myself into putting things to the side until hubby was home to do them with me.

I was doing it before when he wasn't doing it with me... Mon, 31 Oct 2011 22:33:53 EST My hubby comes home tonight!! I am so excited, I've been preparing all week. Getting everything nice and neat. Yesterday I cooked one of his favorite dinners yesterday (corned beef/cabbage). He will eat that for days, he's really the only person that likes it. I'll pick at the meat, but that's pretty much it. Anyways I'm super happy and ready for him to be home. Sun, 23 Oct 2011 08:13:24 EST My mom got married My mother has gotten remarried. I have never seen her so happy. I can't believe it. She's been cheated on, used and sucked dry. For years that's how her relationships have been. I'm so happy for her, I'm scared to death, too.

My new stepfather is great, but I'm still nervous. Growing up all I've known was my mother getting hurt. So, even though I like this guy, I'm scared. Ugh.

I'm mostly happy though. My mom deserves this. She deserves to have someone in her life that... Wed, 12 Oct 2011 15:34:03 EST though most due to illness Though most of it is due to illness Friday/Saturday, I am down some. -4.5. I ate somewhat normally yesterday, was light but I ate. I've lost 1 inch form waist and hips.

I wonder how much of it I'll gain back, and how much was normal weightloss before I got sick. Got sick before I could weigh myself...
