We were out and about, but when we got home, I made a focused effort to get a good workout in on the treadmill. Therefore, I tried a new program on the treadmill at home. Mind you, this is not something that I've done before!! This program had me running at 4.0, 5.0, 6.0 and 7.0. I couldn't run the whole time, but I was able to run for some of it... that was huge for me!!! Honestly, I really cou... Mon, 1 Apr 2013 02:52:05 EST FitBit or BodyMedia ??? I'm so ready to purchase a fitness tracker and I'm a little confused as to which one to purchase. It's a big purchase for me so I want to get it right.

Just over a year ago, my daughter bought me a New Balance DuoSport Watch that has the heart rate monitor on it and a few other things. I think she thought it was a fitness tracker, but I've never really been able to figure out how to work the darn thing. There's too many buttons and flashing things and I never know what it's doin... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 14:33:25 EST My Birthday Family Hike - 02/17/13 Ok, so I started getting back on track about 4 weeks ago. I started out mentally, then saw my doctor for a physical, started my new healthier eating and then last Friday started to incorporate my physical activity into my lifestyle change. Friday, we walked / jogged with the dogs and one of my daughters. Saturday, my other daughter went and played tennis with me. On Sunday, my oldest daughter took all of us hiking for my birthday. She knew I wanted to do something active, the weather was... Wed, 20 Feb 2013 13:34:38 EST Had a bad dream... or was it?!?! I had a horrible dream last night and I didn't feel as though I could get out of it. I hate those!

You see, I have been gearing up to start my journey again, but since I've done this so many times, I feel like it's just a routine. When am I going to really make it stick? I mentally started about 3 or 4 weeks ago, went for my physical and talked to my doctor about 2 weeks ago and since then, I've been doing really pretty well. I've lost 7 pounds in less than 2 weeks and last w... Mon, 11 Feb 2013 11:57:16 EST When will they notice??? When I lost 25 pounds last year (before gaining it back), I had made it clear to my family that I didn't want them telling anyone outside of our home (including extended family that we see every week) about my journey that I was starting ONCE AGAIN. I didn't want to hear the "here we go again" or "yay, good luck... one more time" as it would just make me feel like I was setting myself up for failure (which is the way I was feeling already). Therefore, I was feeling good about myself after I... Wed, 12 Jan 2011 14:02:56 EST I need help keeping the plates spinning!?!?! Ok, I have had success in the past, but get so busy and caught up with things that the wheels come off and I gradually go downhill. So, here I am at the bottom getting ready to climb once again with a smile and a great attitude, but unfortunately, I've taken on additional tasks since the last time I climbed from this point.

I work full time in a small office, I have 2 daughters (a pre-teen and a teenager that drives... hence always needing the car), I'm still in my first year of m... Tue, 4 Jan 2011 13:20:52 EST Foods vs Smokes Although I've seriously started this journey once before about a year ago, I went into "vacation mode" and never came back. Well, a few months ago, I came back and for a few months before that, I mentally prepared myself to get back on the horse.

As a few of you know, I got married in March to my best friend. He has NEVER asked me to lose weight or said anything about anything that I was eating or anything of that nature. On the other hand, I have NEVER said anything about his s... Mon, 7 Jun 2010 19:34:52 EST Amazing feeling... I started getting serious again last Tuesday (the day after Memorial Day) after being out of whack for about a week to ten days due to my mother-in-laws death. I jumped back into eating right and although I had a couple of "not-so-healthy" choices, I accepted my mistakes and moved on. This weekend, I jumped into my fitness a lot more and really tried to make an impact.

Today is Monday and I feel great! Although I wasn't really off track or completely done with things, it's not... Mon, 7 Jun 2010 19:24:18 EST Emotionally Stressed... It's so hard when you think you're on track and making the right moves to incorporate the next step of fitness and workouts to your goals and then life hits you and you don't have the focus, the desire nor the motivation to be where you need to be.

My mother in law, a very, very strong, sweet and spiritual lady, was diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago. She did surgery, she went through chemo and she struggled, but did really well. She was in remission when she decided t... Tue, 25 May 2010 13:50:26 EST
