So, I thought I share the tip!

Here are some tips on preserving herbs in oil.

8 Steps for Freezing Herbs in Oil

Choose firm, fresh herbs, ideally from the market or your own garden.
If you wish, you can chop them fine. Or leave them in larger sprigs and leaves. Here I froze a combination of finely-chopped and whole herbs such as rosemary, fennel stalk, sage... Fri, 2 May 2014 21:33:08 EST Just did not want to go I just did not want to go to the gym today. Then I thought about a spark article about how no one ever feels guilty about going to the gym but do feel guilty if they don't go. So, I went. I was on the stationary bike for half an hour (instead of spinning or kickboxing for an hour) but hey I went. And now that I did the 30 minutes of cardio, I did feel like taking my usual 30 abs class. So, yeah it was worth it. Best part... no guilt whats so ever.

Keep moving spark buddies! Wed, 13 Mar 2013 20:14:19 EST Its my birthday! Its my birthday! Its my birthday! Today was really lots of fun.

Once the kids were off to school I headed for the gym for a spinning class. I then heading for the sauna after that took a shower and headed home.

My friend picked me up and we went for our body massages and a foot reflexology massage. Next, we went to Cosi for lunch, we had a yummy lunch and delightful conversation.

My buddy drop me off then I jumped in my van to pick up my kids. Sorry, young lovers, I am talking about nutrition and fitness.

We enthusiastically make New Year's resolutions to change our health and our life, only to watch them fizzle out in months, weeks or even days.

So, I read a SP article and reminded myself about what I want, need and desire in my life. And losing weight will play a major role since all my wants, needs and desires required me to be fit and healthy.

H... I am done Here it is Christmas Eve, and I am finally done with Christmas shopping. I do have 3 more gifts to wrap, which I bought weeks ago just wanted to add something to box before wrapping.

I did forget my pooch, Zhanne, Michael will buy her some treats this afternoon. We stop buying her toys years ago. She will be 11yo and for years does not play wiht stuff toys. Mon, 24 Dec 2012 11:03:03 EST Winter Solice I almost completely forgot about today. I been under the weather these past few weeks and it got a little worst this week. I am (like most) under stress because of the holidays. Which is not helping any. And busy as ever too.

I am looking forward to Saturday. We are having 4 couples over tomorrow evening (no children, this is a first for us.) to relax and be festive, to just unwind and enjoy the season. I hope I don't puke in the middle of it! LOL! Wed, 5 Dec 2012 07:49:18 EST Black Friday LOL so much to really learn So, here it is black Friday. We let our children go online and buy one item each. Grandpa came over for dinner along with our cousins and uncle. He gave each grandchild a little money. So, today they wanted us to take them out to buy a game or toy or whatever with it. Ugh! Not me I can't deal with crowds. Black Friday? Cyber Monday? My favorite is Thank God it is over Thursday!

Well, as I mentioned the kids wanted to buy something so we let them look online. Both found something th... Fri, 23 Nov 2012 19:29:12 EST 22,464 That was my total today on my food track! 40 OMG! I thought I might have over ate since I had a piece of cake at Sylvia's end of the seasons soccer party. How disappointing is that! Well, okay there was the very small 8-10 peanuts I had after lunch, which was only a non fat Greek yogurt with a hand full of regular cheerios but seriously I thought I was going to cry. 46 I just could not deal with the results and look over my nutrition tracker. 198 Phew! Yes, ... Mon, 12 Nov 2012 20:16:29 EST 4:48am Around 4am right in front of our home a speeding car smashed into our neighbors tree and turned over. He was lucky enough to walk away from the accident. He was alone in the car and hit no one but a tree. I am glad everything is basically okay.

Obnoxious car horn woke my DH, two children and myself up. DH ran out to see if he could help and called 911 which were already informed. And I huddled with the children first around the window getting a birds eye view then cuddled in bed. ... Sun, 11 Nov 2012 05:11:10 EST Have special past memories? What will you recall about Hurricane Sandy? A spark buddy of mine Anne-Eliz wrote a blog today. It talked about the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy and what effect will it have on children's memories. It got her thinking about her own past storm experiences as a child. I too have such memories that are precious to me as well.

I wonder how my children will perceive hurricane Sandy. They saw our damage here upstate NY and dealt with the power outage. We as a family thanked, prayed, GOD for keeping us safe. Again I wrote of the g... Sun, 4 Nov 2012 08:43:01 EST Thursday, after Hurricane Sandy Just an update to last blog.

Our power is back on since last evening. Which is ironic because my DH has been scrambling looking for a generator, which we both agree to buy one after last year Halloween storm, since last Wednesday. Yet everywhere he went they were out of stock. Well, to be more precise out of stock of the particular unit he was recommended to buy for our needs. So what is the ironic about this? DH finally got a small one yesterday late afternoon. By the time it was... Thu, 1 Nov 2012 16:57:43 EST At the library after Hurricane Sandy. Here I am at the library after Hurricane Sandy. Boy the aftermath is crazy huh?
Well, we are blessed because we are all safe and doing well. Our home, vehicles and pool and deck are okay. Not too sure about entire deck but no major damage. As for the property and fence, that is a different story. We lost trees during the hurricane, ripped right out of the ground. Two very large ones too. One landed on our side (Phew! Hate for the neighbors to be troubled on our account) but still I love... Tue, 30 Oct 2012 13:38:41 EST 10/15/2012 I have been working a lot these past for weeks. I am happy to announce that I was called into the office today and asked if I would work the next two weeks as well. Of course I said yes.

The only situation I see is that with the children still having several practices each plus other after school activities to attend, I don't know how I am going to get my workouts in. I normally go during the day when the children are at school but that not going to happen with work. And that leav... Mon, 15 Oct 2012 19:24:03 EST I want warm! Now in up-state NY the cool brisk weather is here. I want a warm snack but still want low calorie and low fat.

Most low-calorie foods are cold and raw. Such as salads, celery sticks, fresh fruits or low-fat yogurt and cottage cheese. I enjoy these but right now they are not what I am looking for when I come in from the cold.

I think soups, oatmeal, dare I say coffee (I like mine with cream and sugar) but what else is there? I am talking crunchy, sweet or salty snack th... Fri, 12 Oct 2012 06:42:38 EST A little goes a long way I had a good workout week from Monday to Thursday. I wanted to workout on Friday but a friend needed a shoulder to lean on. So, I change my plans to meet with her for coffee. Well, apparently she got called into work and "text" me she could not meet me that morning. The problem was she knows my cell does not work well for the past several weeks, I miss call/text all the time she knows how frustrating it has been waiting for my two contract to be up. Wed, 29 Aug 2012 21:47:24 EST Special is Special when shared with others! Yesterday I read a Sparker's daily blog (you might have read it too). Then this morning while working on my 6th day of sparkcoach I was asked to visualize a certain situation.

Well, the sparker's blog talked about advice on getting on when set back, I especially took in and thought about the one about jealously.

Then this morning I did my sparkcoach Daily Visualization, which was as follows:

Imagine reaching your goal weight and seeing an old friend for the fi... Fri, 24 Aug 2012 07:40:19 EST Enjoying the last days of summer Today, I went to the water park again, well, why not, we love it and I bought season passes for the children and myself. I figure SparkPeople itself was one of the best things to happen to me so maybe SparkCoach might be too!

With the newest plateau heading my way, not to mention (but I will) the vacation weight gain hanging onto my hips I can't see how it would hurt.

Wish me luck! Mon, 20 Aug 2012 17:59:48 EST Fun week I had a fun week of having company, visiting friends, bible study and two different days of family time fun. And that is what I want to think about and remember always.

I will concern myself with fitness and weight loss next week. Hey at least nutrition was healthy...mostly. Lots of veggies and fruit made it on the menu per friends and even DH. Actually, my friend said they knew that's what I serve so the they wanted to do the same. Mon, 2 Jul 2012 20:05:16 EST Worn out Well, nutrition is a bit shaky today but still got in the water, fruit and veggies, calories range? Aaa did I mention not tracking this week? Wed, 27 Jun 2012 18:30:26 EST No matter... No matter what I made sure I sneak in some exercises. I did more car stuff, of course not much of a calorie burning, so I did not track it either. I just want to be sure I fit in exercise no matter where I go. However, I did count swimming in the hotel pool on the first day, swimming in the lake the last two days. Today we went hiking plus went on a paddle boat for over an hour, which I hope SP has some sort of comparison so I can count towards fitness.
Nutrition, my usually healthy one... Tue, 26 Jun 2012 18:37:30 EST Another day Another day on vacation. Goals are okay: water intake fine, veggies and fruit fine, staying active yes and keeping in nutritional calories range...don't know have not tracked. However, I am mindful and feel the choices are healthy. Mon, 25 Jun 2012 18:34:59 EST Yesterday's goals Yesterday goal's were met! Yes, I was determined and surprisely easy for me.

DH drove the whole time with me beside him. I was able to seat in back of mini van for a few hours where I watched DVD with the kids (they were in middle row) while I did scissor crosses with my legs and arms followed by other "chair" exercises. Sun, 24 Jun 2012 07:40:20 EST Today's goals Today's goals for fitness are limited because we start vacation with a long car drive. However, I am bringing my resistance bands (the ones I got from PT two years ago) and working out in the car. Chair stretches and when at stops working bands on legs and stretching legs. I figure I may get nothing except maybe a less stiff back and joints. Oh and some points too! LOL Still a less stiff back and joints sounds pretty good.
Then when we get to hotel, I plan on swimming a few laps and tre... Sat, 23 Jun 2012 03:14:26 EST A bit nervous. I leave with my family on vacation tomorrow. Our bathrooms are still being worked on. The contractors will be at our home while we are away. What is making me nervous is Murphy's law has been kicking in these past 3 weeks. All three vanities are still not in and the one most needed is on back order until 8/8. The other two are being custom made. We were told that they would take 5-6 weeks. And that is just the vanities...I just can't write it all down.

However, since I have been ... Fri, 22 Jun 2012 12:09:55 EST My thoughts I read a featured blog this morning. I am sure some of you did too. It was interesting to me because the sparker mention what she will expect or feel when she has met her healthy weight loss goal. She is not looking for a number on the scale, I agree (I do use the scale for measuring purposes). She goes on saying what will help her realize when she done. Meaning when her weight is right for her, I agree (however, I will be sure that feeling with match with the appropriate BMI and healthy weig... I am aware how to convert grams to ounces and vice versa. I know what my serving size should be. My dilemma is that other people do not add what the serving e... Sun, 10 Jun 2012 09:01:58 EST Something I read... Something I read today, which another sparker posted, was about editing the food tracker. The idea was interesting but what I did for me is make me think of one option that always perplexed me. The "Serving" box.

I know when I manually enter a food, and decide to choose "serving" as the amount I put in parenthesis what the "serving" should be...2oz, 2 crackers, 2 tsp, etc...

I wish when you check serving option it would tell you an approximate of that particular fo...
