I couldn't sleep last night and didn't finally go down until 9:15 am and woke up this afternoon. Great, now my days and nights are upside down again.

Because I was up last night I did a lot of boredom eating. Granted I didn't eat a lot of crap food - we are slowly, but surely, getting rid of that kind of stuff from the pantry and fridge - but I ate when I wasn't really hungry. I'm also on the bloat side of my cycle so add all of that to my obse... Tue, 18 Aug 2015 17:14:30 EST She's a Bad Mama Jama So the roomie and I were like puppies in the window waiting for the FedEx guy to deliver our "lifestyle assistants". We got Fitbits!! And we have named them. Well, I have named mine - the roommate is still deciding. Her name is Miriam and she is a very regal plum Fitbit Charge HR. But don't let the clean lines and smooth definition fool you. She means business and will help me kick my own @$$ and like it.

<img src=" Fri, 14 Aug 2015 15:30:01 EST Let It Be Did that just really happen? I felt like I just zombie-walked through my workout. I'm still new to this, so I know it's not habit. It sure as heck wasn't desire - it was a struggle to put shoes and workout clothes on, let alone actually start to exercise. I had to promise myself I could stop after just 10 minutes. I just was not feeling it. But then the detracting voices in my head just shut off. I wasn't riding an endorphin high like normal. There was just a mental quiet, so my body could ge... Wed, 12 Aug 2015 10:10:32 EST I'm Coming Out Nearly three!

So what's the not-so-skinny? Had to prioritize the budget and the first to get the ax was internet access. I tried my best to keep up with diet and exercise goals but physical and mental illness brought me to my knees (and my bed, literally) on more than one occasion.

So I'm a little bit heavier, but I've got a great support team (doctors/ therapist/ family/ church) rooting for me and my motivation is higher than ever. Add to that the phenomenal... Wed, 5 Aug 2015 16:24:57 EST Every Little Step I'm not a fan of the cold so I decided to do an indoor workout today. I dusted off my old step bench, 5 lbs dumbbells, and a workout video and got to stepping. It was difficult because I'm not very coordinated and my upper body strength is practically nonexistent, but I made it through by modifying where needed.

I like workout videos because they're a great way to measure fitness level increases. The move I couldn't do today I may be able to do tomorrow and I love that feeling. Unf... Tue, 13 Nov 2012 11:49:24 EST Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger Do you ever wake up in the morning just feeling lighter? No matter what the scale says you just feel light on your feet.

I got up naturally at 4:20 am. I was already itching to take my walk and start my day. Unfortunately it was still dark and snowing and I didn't want to risk an injury, so I pouted at the absent sun for three hours until I felt confident I could see the road and keep my footing. Good thing I did. I made it back to the park I managed yesterday and only had one slip... Mon, 12 Nov 2012 12:27:50 EST Walk This Way I suck at walking. No, really. Despite the fact that I've been doing it for nigh on 40 years I am just awful at it. It's not my favorite method of exercise because I can't walk fast and long enough to work up a sweat. My cardiorespiratory system is in better shape than my musculoskeletal system so my knees and ankles give out before my heart rate really gets a chance to raise. It's frustrating but it's a great barometer of my fitness level. So today, despite the rain/snow, I walked.
<BR... Sun, 11 Nov 2012 14:29:09 EST
