AMELIA_'s SparkPeople Blog AMELIA_'s Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community 1 cm I keep running four times a week, following a first marathon plan.
The scale is not moving, probably a plateau. But, i measured my waist and i lost 1 centimeter (less than half an inch) still is something.
After reading and rereading several articles, I think that maybe I am not being precise for the nutrition tracker and I might be ingesting more calories than what I think. I also realized that more than half of my food is carbs (rice, bread, pasta mainly). So I am starting an mon... Fri, 13 Feb 2015 15:41:00 EST 80 K in a month This month of January I ran aprox. 80 kilometers. I've been watching what I eat, nevertheless I lost 0 kg. I'm a bit disappointed, but I know that I have to be patient.
I'm enjoying running, I've started a marathon preparation plan. I'm not sure if I'll end up running or not, but I like having goals and a plan.
So, I'll keep training and little by little I'll loose the 15 pounds that I need to loose to be in normal weight (and normal BMI) again.
:) Sun, 1 Feb 2015 22:48:59 EST About running The first time that I tried to run in a treadmill, first time in my life, was 9 months ago. I had started going to the gym and walking on the treadmill for 10 to 15 minutes. Then I tried running, I thought 15 minutes was a good goal. At 5 minutes I had to press the emergency STOP button and felt like fainting. But slowly I began running 5, then 10, then 15, 20, 25, 30, 40 minutes. It felt incredible. I want to mention that I live in a high altitude city, 2800 meters above sea level, which mak... Thu, 7 Feb 2013 20:01:06 EST Third time's the charm Even though I realize that I have gained and lost 10 kilos (22 pounds) at least 4 times in my adult life (without counting one pregnancy), this time is a little different. I have discovered running, and also is my last opportunity before turning 40 and making it much more difficult (it is not impossible as I have read so many great stories of women over 40 that have reached their desired weight).

This time I am thinking about long time commitments, habits and family culture. It has... Tue, 5 Feb 2013 23:37:27 EST Back I have been travelling for five weeks, so between preparations to travel and coming back, I have not been active on this site. I stoped tracking my food and doing my daily exercise rutine. On the good side, I did not totally loose it, and while at my family's place, I found a scale and found out that I have lost a total of: 12 kilos or 24 pounds since October.

While staying there I paid attention to my food intake and tried to make good choices. I think I gained back like 4 pounds ... Wed, 27 May 2009 02:00:13 EST One good thing out of a horrible day Today I felt really bad 'cause my period arrived, and sometimes affects my energy level and humor. I didn't do my 20 minutes exercise. But the worst part was going downtown and loosing my passport! I feel really stupid.

The only good thing is that although I was super nervous and anxious, I chose not to fill my void with food, and I had a final count of 1300 calories. One good thing out of a horrible day. Sat, 28 Feb 2009 00:26:44 EST A bad day Today was a bad day, regarding the diet.
I overate. I had a not particularly healthy lunch, but the problem was the two servings. Part of the reason is that I think that for this to succeed I have to eat what I normally eat, a healthier version and smaller portions. But today it did not work. Some dishes are really hard to make them healthy. The other part of the business is that I am really nervous. End of the month coming and no sales for DH. March is going to be long and difficult, bu... Thu, 26 Feb 2009 00:57:20 EST The past I remember that at 23 I went to see and outstanding homeopathy doctor. She asked me about my favorite foods (it seems it's one of many diagnostic questions). My favorite food has been, for as long as I can remember and continues to be up to today, pasta; in all its forms (spaghetti, lasagne, ravioli) alone or with sauce. I do not know if she told me or if I got to the conclusion that had something to do with the relationship with my father. It seems that I felt a void that needed to be filled... Sat, 21 Feb 2009 03:26:25 EST Thinking about anxiety I remember two times when I dieted. When I was fifteen I tried for, I think, 5 days the Scardale diet (my mom was on that at the time). What I remember the most is one day eating cottage cheese with spinach (I didn't enjoy it).

The other time I was 18, and my dad was into Anti-diet. I read the book, and found it pretty convincing. So I remember eating only fruit in the morning time, not mixing carbs with proteins, not having milk. I still think is has some good ideas.

I ... Thu, 19 Feb 2009 06:48:43 EST How I feel about this Today I'm a little down. I've decided to start posting to help me reflect about my relationship with my body and my weight.

So, some random memories.
I've had a few extra pound all my life (I'm 34 right now). In high school there were only 6 girls in my class and I was the heaviest, even though I don't think I was to heavy (I have NO idea how much I weighted back then).

My mother is overweight, specially going through five pregnancies. I remember her starting diets... Wed, 18 Feb 2009 02:39:03 EST
