My challenge will be that I have a little mini-vacation (I like to take days off in November for my writing, and they happened to blend into a weekend and Labor Day so I get a 6 day vacation, yay me!) and I tend to get carried away.

I'm frustrated at ... Fri, 5 Nov 2010 12:34:51 EST Struggling http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3762353 Well, I continue to struggle.
Even as I sit here writing this I am contemplating a way to sneak a snack during my son's soccer practice tonight. I am justifying it by saying I need to read my book for book club anyway and I love to eat and read at the same time. I know what I really need to do during that time is work on my Nano, but now that it's in my head I'm having a hard time getting it out. And I'm not talking snack as in a piece of fruit. No, I don't WANT a piece of fruit. I w... Thu, 4 Nov 2010 16:51:37 EST Samhain http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3751572 This is a night of new beginnings. Last night we released all the things we needed to let go of from the past year, and tonight we start fresh.
Sound like anything any of us need to do? I know I needed to. I had a lot of mess I had to release, some of it incredibly personal and some of it more public. I was fortunate to be surrounded by friends who I know will always love me, despite my inability to love myself sometimes.
Today I will begin trying to replace the hurt, the ange... Sun, 31 Oct 2010 10:44:13 EST One Success http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3746029 Well, we won't talk about how the diet/exercise is going because at the moment it is decidedly NOT. I did call a friend last night who is good at whipping my butt though and asked her to give me a firm kick to the ass, so maybe that will help.
One awesome piece of news though -- I FINISHED THE NOVEL. ~68k words, 210 pgs, my first draft is DONE. I am so proud of myself I could just scream!! lol
Of course, in four days I have to do it all again.... on turbo-speed!! Thu, 28 Oct 2010 10:47:36 EST Difficult Day... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3730788 Well, I'm home from work today.
My husband's grandmother will be taken off the BiPap today, which means that shortly thereafter she will be gone. We are heading south to Tacoma to be with his family when that happens.
He's having a really difficult time, this is his last grandparent. Our son knows that Great-Grandma is really sick, but we haven't told him what's going on today. I have no idea how he's going to react. When his other Great-Grandma died (shortly before our daught... Thu, 21 Oct 2010 12:07:31 EST My Trip http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3728869 Well, back to reality now. Bummer!

I had a wonderful time in Port Townsend. If I can figure out how to post pictures on this, I will do so! The view from our living room was incredible, Discovery Bay and mountains and the sunset. We had a private beach accessible by stairs on the patio, and Sunday morning my friend and I took a very nice stroll. The beach was sandy and covered with shells. I mean, COVERED! I have never seen so many shells in one place! The patio had grills ... Wed, 20 Oct 2010 15:41:00 EST Weird Things Excite Me http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3717303 Oh good, I have your attention. HA! Nothing scandalous here, I'm afraid.
I am excited though! A few days ago the hubby and I received a flyer in the mail for $15 off our first order through a CSA! I've wanted to sign up for a CSA since I found out what they were, but could never afford the start up cost. This one is cool though because it's only $30 per order and you can get an order weekly or every other weekly. Plus you can quit whenever you want. So I figured what the heck, the ... Fri, 15 Oct 2010 12:46:54 EST Looking ahead http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3712902 The game last night was wonderful fun! The Sounders won, and I learned the chants and songs and sang and clapped until my voice was hoarse and my arms ache as though I were lifting weights! Between that and the thirty minute each way walk (because we are too cheap to pay for parking) I think I got a pretty good workout yesterday! Maybe a little untraditional, but oh well.
Dinner wound up being at Wendy's. I went there with the intention of getting a baked potato and salad. Well, t... Wed, 13 Oct 2010 13:24:15 EST October 11 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=3710941 Here we are at Day 1. I'm going to try to forget about yesterday, because it was a crazed food frenzy. I'll spare you the details and try not to engage in food porn. Nobody wants to read that. But I went to bed sick, so that's a pretty bad sign right there. Today promises to be better, and so far I've been under control. We have tickets to a Sounders game tonight (woot!!!) which will entail a trip to a fast food joint, but I think we can handle it. I can handle it. Someone can handle ... Tue, 12 Oct 2010 17:10:07 EST
