Tue, 12 Dec 2017 11:42:14 EST On your mark, get set... OK, working out my plan. First step is to boogie in some housework so I have no guilt over hopping along to the gym. This is my biggest challenge. As far as eating, my initial goal is to strictly limit fast food and processed foods. Yes, there are microwave dinners in the freezer, because I'm realistic, this house has 2 small kids and 2 working parents. That's why I said "limit" and not "eliminate". Eventually, I want to eliminate both soy and gluten, because I think it will help with some ... Sun, 3 Jan 2016 11:22:14 EST Moving from 2015 to 2016 Looking back over my goals from 2 years ago, seeing that I'm in much the same position, although I have another beautiful little boy, and of course nurturing him through pregnancy and infancy took precedence over trying to get "skinny." But now we're working on the weaning stage, so I can shift a bit more of my focus to myself...because at least my body is mostly my own again.

I n... Tue, 29 Dec 2015 07:19:01 EST Expecting a Little Peanut So right now, I have a great excuse for not actively trying to LOSE weight. I am 9-weeks pregnant! But, that also means I have the best reason in the world to try to clean up my eating and shore up some good habits, both eating and mild exercise. I'm hoping that soon the first trimester nausea will pass, and I can go back to eating "normally" instead of only wanting to look at food when I'm actively hungry AND its ready to go in my face.

Hubby just restarted his P90X workouts, to h... Mon, 21 Apr 2014 14:26:30 EST 2014 Resolutions Starting once again. 2013 did not go as I'd hoped weight-loss-wise, but I feel an overall health improvement. My actual habits (and the bloodwork for the doctor) are all looking better.

I need to loose weight. It is hard for me due to messed-up hormones, but it IS possible. My GOAL for 2014 is to get down to 165lbs, which would be 54lbs, or a bit over 1lb per week. At that point, I'll only have about 40lbs left to reach my ultimate goal.

I want to get fit enough to pass... Tue, 7 Jan 2014 11:33:18 EST It's that time of year again! Okay, so after facing my disasterous Thanksgiving weight gain (11 pounds!), my goal for December is just to try and knock that back off before leaving on Christmas vacation. Facing a 2-week roadtrip for the end-of-year holidays means that actually losing weight during that timeframe is probably a lost cause, so my focus for those 2 weeks is going to be to maintain. When I get home and return to work, I'll get my new start weight and reset my focus starting January 6th.

So the posit... Mon, 2 Dec 2013 13:06:28 EST 16-week Progress Report (Still glaicial slow) Okay, I'm mostly doing a bit better on my eating. I still have bad days, but they're getting fewer. Attempting to get back into more home-cooking than dining out.

I've also picked up on the exercise...those DVDs I bought haven't gotten much use (1 video got done once), they just don't fit my life quite yet BUT my best friend and I have picked up walking. Lots of walking. I live fairly near a walking trail that has the far end at a park, so we've been loading the kids into stroller... Fri, 11 Oct 2013 08:20:08 EST Progress...slow but there! I keep falling off my little bandwagon this year. Between stress, my hubby's eating habits, and well, a desire to get to ENJOY stuff again, I'm having a lot of trouble being good. My "kryptonite" buddy is doing really well and jumping my case about sabatoging her and trying to help motivate me to do better - thank you Nikki!

So, I've gone out and bought a few workout DVDs and a big exercise ball. I'm having to resign myself to the idea that hitting the pool like I WANT just isn't g... Mon, 26 Aug 2013 11:39:50 EST Take 2...or maybe Take 352? Ok, I had a good start earlier this year, but fell off the wagon pretty quickly. Then it was birthdays, Easter, Mother's Day, more birthdays, etc. And my best friend is REALLY bad about wanting to go out to eat. A lot.

Well, she gained a bit more weight than she liked, so now she's wanting to start dieting and exercising too. So now my kryptonite is getting encased in lead, because between her, my hubby, and another good friend, I have some real-life accountability.

I'm... Tue, 18 Jun 2013 09:16:28 EST Freezer Mini Update I just sent in our order for a half of a cow. We also have a friend that hunts that is going to try to get us a wild hog, all we have to pay is the processing. When deer season comes around again, he's going to try for some venison for us (also, just having to pay the processing fee).

I need to make more breakfast burritos. My husband has wiped out almost all of the ones I made (I think that's a good sign, right?). I need to get stuff to make more. And make quiche, he liked that la... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 11:55:08 EST Goals and Calculations. Right now, I've decided that what I really want to do is to focus on WHAT I am eating and how I am feeding my family. So instead of focusing on pure weight-loss, I want to focus on healthy eating habits (and that should make weight-loss a happy bonus). I still plan to work on my weight, but it won't be my main focus. Probably especially since we are currently trying for another baby. Yes, I would've liked to be a healthier weight first, and I'll keep working on that, but I'm not letting my we... Thu, 28 Feb 2013 11:21:36 EST Two steps forward, One step back Well, I did pretty good on my eating plan for about a week and a half. Then Valentine's Day hit, and I got given something like 8 small boxes of chocolates. Then we went out to dinner that night. And then we went out of town for the long weekend. And then, and then, and then. Grrrr.

BUT yesterday (Sunday) I mostly did good. I ate a pretty healthy brunch and snacks. Yes, I did have Taco Bell for dinner, and ate too much. I'm back up 3 pounds after having dropped 7 really quickly. B... Mon, 25 Feb 2013 10:22:19 EST Update on the Freezer Status So, over the months of December and January, I managed to "eat down" the deep freezer enough for a much-needed defrost and reorganize. I also did some restocking and made some homemade convienence items. But there are still a few "bad guys" lurking in my freezer and pantry.

The deep freezer is currently stocked with vaccum-sealed packages of beef and pork, mostly steaks, hamburger patties, and porkchops, as well as home-seperated bags of b/s chicken breasts, 1lb packs of ground tu... Wed, 6 Feb 2013 11:32:54 EST 2013 Resolutions These are starting to be some pretty familiar goals!

I need to lose weight. It is hard for me due to messed-up hormones, but it IS possible. My GOAL for 2013 is to get down into the 170's. I did lose about 8 pounds in 2012 (that I KEPT off...lost 37 total and gained back...had understandable reasons). So I have my goal, but as long as I end the year lighter than I started it, I'm not going to complain.

I want to get my house clean and organized and our storage unit empt... Mon, 7 Jan 2013 08:28:22 EST Pantry Reset Whoops! I completely forgot about how often we end up going out to eat with various friends/family/functions in December, so that didn't go as I'd planned. But I did make the Shepherd's Pie (using the ground lamb...evil evil evil) and the 3-bean chili (with venison sausage), as well as 2 boxes each of hamburger helper, chicken helper, and mac'n'cheese, 1 pizza and the pizza rolls.

But we're almost out of Mountain Dew (the hubby's biggest challenge) and I have our freezer restocked with me... Fri, 28 Dec 2012 07:56:10 EST Pantry/Freezer Challenge In an attempt to prepare and reset for the coming year, without being wasteful, I'm trying to use up a few things that are lurking in my pantry and freezer. But I don't want to just go all-out and splurge on bad, junky meals for several days either. I want to work them into a plan that isn't so terrible.

The "culprits" are:

2-3 frozen pizzas, in varieties that I like but the hubby doesn't
1 large bag of Pizza Rolls
6 boxes Hamburger Helper (4 Lasagna, 2 Chees... Mon, 3 Dec 2012 09:48:58 EST Failing At least that's how it feels. I am all the way back up to 220, after being down to 195 just back in August. The first 15 pounds were at least a happy gain, but I've gained 10 more since my D&C last month. It doesn't matter what I eat or how I try to exercise, just looking at food seems to cause weight gain. I know its hormones and the fact that mine are unbelievably screwed up (thank you genetics) but its depressing.

I have 2 options right now - just deal with getting fatter every... Tue, 27 Nov 2012 07:39:15 EST Need a new plan (edited) I was doing VERY well early this year, eating whole fruits and veggies, grilled lean meats, and avoiding most bread and processed carbs. Then I got pregnant and started eating "how I wanted" instead of how I should have.

Now, I'm hitting the holidays, and have gained back over 20lbs of what I lost earlier this year. I lost the baby, I'm not pregnant anymore, there is NO excuse for me to keep up with the junky eating and gaining weight! But I can't stop.

I honestly think... Mon, 19 Nov 2012 10:09:10 EST One Small Bit of Brightness I had my 6-month check-up with my regular doctor yesterday, after not seeing him since my appointment back in May. He said I'm doing great and look much better that I did (although the scale is back to the same place now as it was then) and to keep doing what I'm doing.

Now just to get back into my size 14 pants...right now, all I care wear comfortably is maternity pants, and that's not putting me in a good place emotionally or mentally. Two more days until I see the OB/GYN for my... Tue, 6 Nov 2012 09:02:51 EST Lost my Little Peanut I went to my 12-week prenatal check-up yesterday, thinking everything was going great, only to find out that I lost my little one when I had the flu a few weeks ago. Totally blindsided and completely devastated. I'm having surgery on Thursday. Tue, 23 Oct 2012 10:24:00 EST Outta the Weight-Loss Arena...For Now But for the happiest of reasons - I'm pregnant! As of this morning, I'm only sitting at about 4.5lbs over my pre-vacation weight.

The house is caught up to the same point it was pre-vacation. Luckily we plan on co-sleeping for the first year, so we have about a year-and-a-half before we have to start trying to "make room" for more than diaper storage and clothes. Now to get super serious on straightening the finances out, so we can save that next tax return to cover my maternity le... Thu, 23 Aug 2012 09:42:13 EST 30 weeks in - 7 months of progress As of this morning, I'm down a total of 37.6lbs. WOW, that's almost 9lbs from what I posted a month ago!!! Down to 195.0 from 232.6!

Right now, the house is still looking pretty good. I've been maintaining about the same level we got to for that July 4th party, which is good considering we've been gone almost every weekend the past month.

Finances are up, but we're getting ready to do a whole new roof on our house, and that's not cheap, even with the insurance helping. ... Thu, 2 Aug 2012 10:04:53 EST A little self-realization I just realized yesterday (kind of slow on this, LOL) quite how deeply my weight affects me. When I am over 200lbs, ESPECIALLY when up around 220+, I am very self-concious, and trying to hide myself. Under 200, I am feeling so much more confident and sexy. I actually had a mental picture of myself showing up at a friend's Halloween party in the buff, and explaining that I was Bottecelli's Venus (was a good laugh...and if my hair were a bit longer, I'd actually consider it, LOL)

I'v... Fri, 27 Jul 2012 11:19:04 EST 25 weeks down - 6-month progress report! So far, I am down a grand total of 28.8 lbs! I've gone from barely squeezing into a size 18 to being able to wear 14's that are only a little snug. On the border between XL and XXL shirts, and needing to make a trip to get my bras resized. WHOO WHO!

The house is making major progress. Emptying out all the "extra" clutter into a storage unit for a few months so that we can get some much-needed repair work done on the roof, garage, and attic. Once all that's done, we'll bring the tru... Mon, 2 Jul 2012 08:40:03 EST A little guilty pleasure... This makes me feel like a bad friend, but I really want/need a small chance to gloat a little (I know this person will never see this here)

About a month ago, one of my friends borrowed a bunch of my too-small pants. Not a big deal, not like they fit anyway right? It was kinda shocking to realize how MUCH weight she's gained though...5 years ago, at my wedding, she was in a size 4 bridesmaid dress. 5 years ago, she only weighed 108 lbs and we were trying to SHOVE cheeseburgers at h... Tue, 26 Jun 2012 07:49:51 EST 21 weeks in...checking in for early June Not down much since last month, only another 3lbs, putting me at 208.6 and exactly 24lbs lost. It doesn't seem like much, but with the way May went, it GOOD.

My husband graduated graduate school on May 4, but came down sick just behind it with a "cold". We went to St. Augustine for Mother's Day, and the baby got sick...once we were home, found out the baby had strep throat AND THEN, on Wednesday evening that week, the hubby got hospitalized with Flu Strain B, bronchitis, and walkin... Mon, 4 Jun 2012 14:13:33 EST Update after doctor appt The doctor did NOT mention the diet pills again, and said I'm doing a great job! He did put me on metformin again, because my diabetes test came back "insulin resistant" but that wasn't a surprise, since my PCOS can CAUSE insulin resistance, my mom is insulin resistant, and my dad just got diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (and he is SKINNY and a runner).

We'll see how well I do on the new meds. Even though in March the doctor said to wait another 6 months before starting TTC, I mig... Mon, 7 May 2012 09:35:23 EST 16-Week Progress Report As of this morning, the scale puts me at exactly 22 lbs down overall, sitting at 210.6 from 232.6 just 4 months ago!

My official weigh-ins are on Monday though, and I had a rather large weight fluctuation for just two days (214.8 to 210.6). So here are my end-of-the-month weights so far this year, LOL.

232.6 - 01/06/12 - starting weight
228.6 - 01/30/12
224.4 - 02/27/12
220.2 - 03/26/12 - *NEW scale*
214.8 - 04/30/12

My fitness levels ha... Wed, 2 May 2012 10:48:01 EST First 13-weeks...Goal Surpassed! I weighed in this morning at 216.4lbs (it was lower Saturday, before I went and had fast-food, soda, and birthday cake & ice cream...oh well). So I am starting out the 2nd quarter of this year with a headstart of 3.6lbs!
244
Overall, the kiddo and I spent most of March sick. First I had bronchitis for nearly 2 weeks, then he caught the flu and home from daycare for a week, then pollen season started and whooped my behind. So I got pretty lazy about housework. But the c... Mon, 2 Apr 2012 07:54:22 EST 8-Week Progress Report So far this year, I am down 12.5 lbs from 232.6 to 220.0! If I can hold to this weight for the next week or so (bronchitis has affected my appetite) then I will be at my 1st quarter goal already - a MONTH early! Whoot! My plan is to make sure the number holds once I'm better, then I can get a head start on my 2nd quarter goal (another 13 lb loss)

The house is doing decent - I'm on top of the laundry and dishes, the living room, bedrooms, and kitchen are mostly picked up. Ok, my husband and I got married July 28, 2007. We started trying to start a family in December 2008 (we'd been together for right about 4 years at that point). That's when I started having problems with not having periods again (had happened twice before, but I hadn't been trying to get pregnant, so hadn't worried about it...taking the Pill "fixed" the problem.

In April 2009, my nurse at the gynocologist's office referred me over to the doctor they had that specialized in fertili... Tue, 16 Mar 2010 07:31:31 EST New Cat - Adopted Feb. 5th Hubby and I got a new cat the beginning of February. He was a stray in my friend Kelly's neighborhood, that she took care of getting "fixed" and shots, that decided he didn't want to be a stray anymore after that. He's so sweet and cuddly! This Friday will make a month that we've had him though, and we haven't decided on a name.

I didn't think I'd be ready to adopt again after losing my baby-kitten back in September (big baby...she was born in the spring of 1991! Tue, 2 Mar 2010 11:22:05 EST Progress Report after 2 months Okay, so now that we're into the 3rd month of the year, time to look at how far I've gotten so far...

I've lost about 5lbs of the 90 I'm aiming for. Not exactly a quick start, but I have managed to quit GAINING any weight, so that's a plus side. And my size 18 jeans are fitting looser, so that's another plus (honestly, if I could comfortably wear a size 4-6 and weight 350lbs, I don't think my weight would bother me, lol!)

I haven't really started working on my fitness te...
