At least, I got that first good workout in. There is something to be said about working out first thing in the morning.

I ended up with a migraine that would not go away yesterday so I missed my chest, shoulders, tri workout, and my eating was terrible. I was just tired and cranky yesterday so yeah. Didn't meet my goals. I am not happy when that happens but I also know that is life. Things happen, and you just have to pick yourself up and start... Hopefully, you are all working hard and meeting those goals! I have been having a pretty good week myself. Yesterday, I stuck to my calorie goals. I think I am finally getting on board the healthy eating train again. For about five days now, I've been eating really good with no bingeing. No bingeing!! Holla!! It's so hard to get back into that healthy eating mind set. This time around I am doing some things differently though. If I am really craving something and I can fit it into my calories for the day, then I eat it. This seems to help me keep from bingeing later. I ... Wed, 5 Feb 2014 18:58:32 EST Gluten Free Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5613346 I just realized I never updated anyone on the whole gluten free thing. I figured out that I gluten was not causing the swelling and bloating. It's more of the processed foods and eating too much at one time. Not as in eating too many calories at once but eating large volumes of food at once. I don't know why but it makes me swell. If it's healthy stuff, the swelling goes down after an hour or two so there's that. I also was not really calculating my sodium intake correctly. I thought I was t... Since last July! Eek! So let's catch up. :) I have been doing really well with the fitness aspect of my healthy journey. I have kept up with my workouts and try never to go more than three days without a workout. I plan for 6 days of workouts but as we all know life gets in the way. I average about 4 workouts a week but I am going to try to step that up in the New Year.

As for my eating, well that has been a ... Tue, 14 Jan 2014 14:06:29 EST Week 6 Review and Going Gluten Free http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5422132 I wanted to do a quick update on how P90X is going. I'm still doing well. I didn't do so well with my sugar free challenge and really did not succeed with it. But I think it was because I was going at it in weight loss/look better mode and not doing it for my health. When you're doing something for the wrong reasons, it usually does end up failing. So I'm going to approach things a little differently from here on out when it comes to food. I'm going to try my hardest anyway. 41 <... Mon, 15 Jul 2013 17:18:18 EST Week 5 in Review http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5412535 Well after I do yoga today, I will have finished up my fifth week of P90X! Still loving it!
We are back to the weights this week, and I upped my weights a little too. I am sore though! I haven't really been sore in the past with this program but I am pretty sore today. Not can't move sore, but still sore. I did Stretch X after Kenpo X yesterday just work out some of that tightness. It helped a lot.

I'm also grouchy! Sat, 6 Jul 2013 16:27:40 EST Confession http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5411538 Well, I didn't do so well yesterday with my challenge. I ate 2 cupcakes. 39 I was ok with it at first saying to myself, I'll just start over tomorrow but then my daughter saw me and got really mad. I have these sticky notes that I've placed on my calendar that I am marking off the days I've went without sugar and she grabbed that off and said, "You don't even deserve this!" And tore it in half. lol I'm sorry. I know it isn't funny but she's like my own little Bob or other personal... Fri, 5 Jul 2013 13:17:27 EST Kick Your Sweet Tooth Challenge! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5409553 Since I started Spark, I think the one habit I've really been able to stick with is fitness. I LOVE working out and working out hard. I love being active. I know I will be doing this the rest of my life. And while yes I am working towards a better body looks wise and to drop weight, that is not why I work out. I work out because I enjoy being an athlete. I enjoy pushing my body and seeing what it can do, and I love the feeling after a good hard workout. I'm hooked on working out and that's no... I'm still scratching my head at that one.

So an update for ya. Last week was kind of a bust. It was supposed to be an easier week, and I took that a little too far. Sun, 23 Jun 2013 09:37:19 EST Eating Six Small Meals a Day to Boost Metabolism A Myth?? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5392567 I don't know. What do you think about this article from Jillian Michaels. It makes sense. I actually like eating bigger meals because I do feel more satisfied but I always thought I should try to eat several small meals a day to boost my metabolism. Maybe, that is not necessary afterall? Below are the main points of the article. Tell me what you think? Do you think eating several small meals a day is better and increases your metabolism? Or do you agree that it's just a myth?

Read... Mon, 17 Jun 2013 21:55:07 EST 2 Weeks and 2 Pounds Down! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5391026 Well, I am starting the 3rd week of P90X today. I am very excited with my results so far. My diet has not been good. I've indulged in a lot of things I shouldn't have and overate a couple of days each week but I still managed to lose two pounds and some inches! I can't imagine how much I could have lost if I had stuck to eating really cleanly. I am fine with the results though because this is something that I can maintain. I'm able to indulge in things I like like some chocolate or a cookie o... Sun, 16 Jun 2013 17:30:43 EST Review of Sunday Workout and Eats http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5384035 I'm really proud of myself for my eating today. I've stuck to my meal plan almost completely. I had 3 chocolate covered almonds at my mom's house but that's it. You see that's where I get tempted everyday. My mom lives next door and since I am a single mother and only have one child, we always eat dinner over there. It's just nicer having a big family around the dinner table instead of just the two of us eating alone. So, anyways, they always have tons of goodies over there and it is hard to ... Mon, 10 Jun 2013 02:26:17 EST Review of Week 1 P90X http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5382065 Ok, finished week one. I'm writing this after midnight so it's Saturday already and my rest day. It'll be the second one I took this week so I might get in a light workout when I get up on Saturday. I dont' know yet. It'll be 30 minutes of Coach Nicole's cardio workouts or something like that and some stretching. They are pretty easy for me so I might do that. We'll see.

So here's a review for how I did this past week.

Workouts 319

I must say I ... I actually took a rest day. It wasn't planned but we had bad weather and my sister and her kids got stranded at my house so we just ended up hanging out. It was nice, and I'm ready to go again today!

On the schedule is Legs and Back and Ab Ripper X. I'll probably do some yoga afterwards but I don't know if I'll make it through the whole thing. I get bored with it easily. I like the b... It took me forever though because I have one set of weights that you have to twist on and off each plate to change sizes. I forgot about this so first thing tomorrow, I'm going to Wal-Mart to get a set of weights and a rack.

418 I also did Ab Ripper X. So hard. It was one of those days where I was feeling great and like I could work out forever. So in the morning I did the 55 minute Core Synergistic workout. 362 Then later that afternoon, I decided to do 47 minutes of butt kicking tae bo. 216 I still felt great afterwards and all night last night.

This morning . . I have been giving 100 to 110% on fitness lately, and I'm proud of how far I've come in that. Diet, on the other hand, is where I have crashed and burned and we all know that's what makes or breaks any weight loss goals. I am ready to get back on this weight loss track thoug... I am doing very well being committed to my fitness plan. I have been doing the 30 Day Shred with 5 lb weights and today I completed my 6th day on Level 2. It's still very hard for me but it is easier than it was on the first day. I still have to stop to catch my breath a couple of times but I don't let myself pause for longer than a count of 10 or 15 (this is fast counting in my head). I pause the video while I catch my breath s... Fri, 18 Jan 2013 07:02:55 EST Just a Little Update http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5211691 So this is what's been happening the past two days. Tuesday, I was lazy and did not do my scheduled workout. I didn't sleep well the night before and was exhausted all day. Then yesterday, I got up and ate the most horrendous breakfast possible. A glazed pastry thing similar to a honeybun and two small blueberry muffins. 640 calories right there and 30 grams of fat!! When I put that in the tracker, it freaked me out and I was determined to turn the day around. I planned out the rest of my mea... It was really tough but I did it all including the bonus round. So I'm proud of myself for that.

Now for the bad, well, I didn't do as well as I wanted on my diet. But I did stay within my calorie range. My daughter and I ate dinner with my parents which we do a lot because it's just the two of us and they are just next door so it's a nice family time. I kept feeling tired and out of it and had a hard time getting back to feeling better. I did tae bo the day before yesterday but nothing else. Sooo I'm just going to start over but this will be the ONLY time I am starting over. It's balls to the walls this time! If I get really sick again, I'll take time off but I promise this time to get right back into it as soon as I feel better. No more excuses! And no more eating crappy! That's another thing I've bee... Mon, 14 Jan 2013 09:48:33 EST Sick . . http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5197895 Well, I've been sick the past couple of days so I am way behind on my workouts. I am planning on starting week 2 tomorrow. I don't know if I should start all over with the workouts or just keep going forward. I was supposed to start week 1 Sunday but have been sick and not able too. The plan calls for the same set of workouts for the first three weeks anyway, so I'm trying to decide whether I should do another three weeks or just continue with what I was doing which will just be 2 more weeks ... And of course, since I love tae bo and any kind of kickboxing, I loved this too! I just have one thing to say. No one better come up on me in a dark alley! lmao!

My workout really didn't go as well as I had hoped though because I had eaten a spicy black bean morningstar burger (sans bun) and a cuties orange about 30 minutes before I went to work out. High fiber foods are not your friends ri... Fri, 4 Jan 2013 07:34:05 EST P90X Day 5 Finished! Woo Hoo! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5187395 Today was a much better day on the P90X front. It was legs and back plus Ab Ripper X again. VERY challenging stuff here folks. I was proud that I could complete everything though and as many reps as they did. My legs are pretty strong though. I've always had insanely strong legs but I do sometimes hate working them. I think it's because legs are such large muscles. It feels so much harder than working arms, chest, etc.

I was not able to do the pull ups because I do not have a bar ... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 01:22:45 EST Krispy Kreme Is Calling My Name! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5185209 My stepdad brought my daughter a big box of Krispy Kreme donuts! Arghhh!!! I've walked by them many times today but haven't given into temptation yet . .

I usually don't blog about my cravings and temptations. I usually just give in and feel guilty later or find some way to resist. More often than not, it's giving in over fighting temptation. I decided tonight to try writing out my feelings about why I'm wanting these donuts so bad to see if that would help me. So let's start with... Wed, 2 Jan 2013 00:27:02 EST P90X Day 4 Yoga http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5185046 Ok, i feel really bad but I can not finish this yoga dvd. It's not that it's too hard. It's that I'm bored to death!! The dvd is like an hour and 20 minutes long. I did 20 minutes and just was sooo bored. I felt like I had been doing it forever! Plus, now I'm so relaxed, I don't even feel like doing any other workout. This would definitely be a great thing to do before bed. I have a hard time falling asleep so i think I will start doing a few minutes of this before bed because I could definit... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 22:56:15 EST P90X Day 3 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5183759 Happy New Year everyone! I hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve and even better 2013!

Now onto a P90X recap. Yesterday, I completed the shoulders and arms workout and the Ab Ripper X. The shoulders and arms workout is an hour long and I thought it was going to take forever and just be too long for lifting weights but this was NOT the case at all. It was a lot of fun jumping between exercises and trying different weights. The time really flew by and before I knew it, I had fini... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 12:04:57 EST P90X Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5181635 I'm so proud of myself because I completed Day 2 of P90X despite a busy, emotional day with lots of stuff going on. I thought about changing my rest day to today and pushing everything back a day but then I decided to just do it, as Nike would say! And I'm so glad I did!

Let's back up to how I felt today after yesterday's workout. All's I can say is Holy Buns Batman!! My buns hurt sooo bad this morning. It felt like they were completely bruised. They were sore in a really good way... Mon, 31 Dec 2012 00:48:02 EST Day 1 of P90X Done! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5180295 So long time, no see err write! I am still alive and still moving slowly on this healthy living train. I got derailed a bit over the holidays. I didn't complete the Healthy Holidays Challenge and I did not lose any weight. In fact, I gained. 2 I don't know exactly how much but I measured my inches, and it wasn't pretty. I gained a whole inch and a half in my waist alone.

I was sad but I am shaking it off and moving forward again! You know one step back, two step forwa... Stuck to my nutrition plan and almost got my 100 ounces of water. I had about 90 ounces which since I didn't work out I think is fine.
