I am going to track each meal as well as my water intake and take responsibility for what is going on inside of me. And after talking about waking up at 5:00am to be at the gym by 6:00am has gotten me NOWHERE, so I have enlisted the help of my best friend. Starting on Monday, she is going to call me when she wakes up so I will hopefully wake up and get my butt to the gym. I asked her if she could do it for a month until my b... Thu, 3 Jan 2013 20:42:50 EST Insanity - Day 1 Fit Test http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5172306 So, my mom bought me the insanity workout series for Christmas. I am hoping that by the end of the 60 days I can finally have the body that I had in high school. I really need to get rid of the food belly. Anyways, here are the stats from my first fit test

Switch Kicks - 79
Power Jacks - 36
Power Knees - 46
Power Jumps - 24
Globe Jumps - 15
Suicide Jumps - 12
Push-Up Jacks - 18
Low Plank Oblique - 36 (I think if you are counting each leg pump indi... Thu, 20 Dec 2012 19:05:27 EST Half Marathon season is almost here! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5042399 Well, after an unplanned five week hiatus, I have finally started running again...just in time to prepare for the three half-marathons that I am planning on doing this fall. I think that I was using the gym being so far from my new job and the wicked humidity as an excuse, and frankly, I was scared for some reason. I was mostly scared because I thought that I was going to have to start from the beginning again and that I wouldn't be able to run even half what I worked up to (I was up to 8 mil... Mon, 3 Sep 2012 12:09:06 EST Back to Work! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5031845 Yet again I am back on Sparkpeople. I was doing so well with exercise and eating well...I even won the Biggest Loser Challenge at my work! I had a pretty consistent routine going, but I didn't like the job that I was at so instead of focusing on exercising I needed to focus on looking for a new job outside of childcare. So two Mondays ago I interviewed and got a job as a Staff Assistant for the Duke Pediatric Bone and Marrow Transplant Family Support Program. While the job has better hours, I... Sun, 26 Aug 2012 15:07:33 EST I Need Running Tips! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4883108 Today was just not my day to run. I am proud to say that I have been running pretty consistently, which is important. This week I have run on Sunday, Monday, and this evening, except that on Sunday and Monday I ran with my husband around our development, which at the time, I thought was difficult! I was more than happy to go back to the American Tobacco Trail after work and decided to run 4 miles (since we ran 4 miles on Sunday and 3 on Monday). Wow though, it was HARD. I'm not sure if it was... Tue, 15 May 2012 19:55:38 EST I Ran 5 Miles! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4857699 I can't believe it, but I just ran 5 miles today! I have been okay at three miles, and have been tired, but felt like I could do more, so today for my 'long' run, I decided to go for 5 miles instead of the planned 4 that I was going to do. I'm so glad that I did. I completed it in 1:04, which was a 12:54 mile. It's certainly not the best that I can probably do, but I was really trying to not go for time since it was my first time running 5 miles EVER.

Knowing that I am able to run... Sun, 29 Apr 2012 14:14:49 EST Tarheel 10 Miler and New Running Goals http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4852384 Last Saturday my husband and I ran the Fleet Feet 4 Miler, which was part of the Tarheel 10 Miler at the University of North Carolina (GO HEELS!). I had originally signed up to run the 10 miler, but kind of forgot/was too busy to train, so I ended up switching to the 4 mile race during their expo. I was so glad that i did! My husband didn't expect us to even run the race, since I am notorious for picking up my race shirt and then sleeping in and not going! Recently, my 'sleeping in' has only ... Wed, 25 Apr 2012 21:42:34 EST Steadily Losing! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4842054 I just weighed myself in this morning, and if my morning measurements are accurate, I now weigh 142.8! I am SO close to be in the 140 range and I am so excited, because that means that I will be in the 130's soon--a number I haven't seen in YEARS! I ended up taking two weeks off of working out since Jason had been out of town that first week, and then it took him a week to get back into the swing of things (and I missed him and wanted to actually see him instead of not getting home until 8:30... Thu, 19 Apr 2012 07:15:57 EST Went Down a Pants Size! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4834640 Yesterday was a very exciting day. For the past couple of weeks, I have a pair of jeans that I pretty much wear everyday during the week (I just started a job working with young two's, so I can't wear nice clothes to work - it's not appropriate!). Well, for the past week or so, I have had to put a sweater around my waist because my pants were kind of sagging. I didn't really think anything of it, but then it just got to me and started to think that maybe it was time to go down a size to see i... Sat, 14 Apr 2012 11:36:25 EST Happy Easter! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4825720 Well, today is Easter and I am happy to say that I haven't eaten any easter candy! Sadly, that's about all I can be proud of. Last week was a wash for exercising since my husband left to go to PAX (Penny Arcade Expo) on Wednesday night, so I wanted to spend time with him. I ended up getting sick from Thursday to today which started because I got NO sleep on Wednesday and our house was COLD, so I spent all weekend basically sick. Tomorrow I will be back on the water/exercise wagon hopefully ru... Sun, 8 Apr 2012 14:37:57 EST New Job http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4808597 Today is the last day that I am no longer working part-time. I caved and applied for a job at a preschool working with the toddlers because there are very few 'true' Administrative Assistant jobs around here that are offering full-time hours. I guess I miss working with children also (even though I've only been out of the field for a month). I am still planning on applying to grad school for my Masters in Public Affairs so I can hopefully get a full-time job with AmeriCorps or start a new pro... Wed, 28 Mar 2012 09:01:00 EST Ran a 5k Today! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4804301 Today I probably should have did the Jillian Michael's workout (I still might), but instead I decided to run at the YMCA. I joined a couple of weeks ago, and only have gone once, so I went there instead. Originally I was only going to run 2 miles, but then decided to run a 5k around the track. It surprisingly only took me 28 minutes, so I ran about a 9 minute mile 104 ! I haven't ran in a while, so I was very proud of myself, and I think that I am going to make it a routine to try ... Sun, 25 Mar 2012 17:30:29 EST Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred: Level 1, Day 2 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4801159 Today I completed day 2 of the level 1 of Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred. I am absolutely committed to completing this challenge, even if it isn't 30 days in a row like it maybe should be (I didn't do it yesterday because my abs hurt!). The 20 minutes seemed to go faster this time than the first time, so that's a good sign.

Tonight I am going to try to do the Jillian Michaels 'Ripped in 30' or run on the tobacco trail with my husband. Water intake seems to be getting easier also..... Fri, 23 Mar 2012 10:25:16 EST Still Here! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4798052 I finally feel like something has 'clicked' in this journey to get rid of this unnecessary extra poundage I have put on. While I wouldn't consider myself 'fat', I would definitely consider myself out of shape. I think because I'm petite the extra pounds that I have gained, show. Good news is that I am still going with the water drinking, and I haven't drank a Pepsi in at least THREE weeks (I think I stopped drinking Pepsi about the time that I deleted my Facebook account). And while I haven't... Wed, 21 Mar 2012 12:29:31 EST A New Beginning http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4777303 It's hard to believe that I have been back to this site for almost a week now. I quite honestly forgot about it and seemed to always be on Facebook. In the midst of Lent, I decided to delete my account, and have since focused any free computer time on here. A lot has happened since I have been back here. For one I am no longer in the childcare field and looking for a job that I don't have to take home and investing my money and free time with. I realized that the job really was taking so much... Thu, 8 Mar 2012 11:35:36 EST Yay for bike riding! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=2909716 Today I finally got off my behind and exercised! The weather has been quite cold here in NC (still not an excuse for not exercising, I know!), but this weekend has been amazing weather wise, so my husband and I decided to go bike riding. I was quite excited that we were able to ride 6 1/2 miles in 45 minutes...pretty good for going cold and me being pretty out of shape. We would have tried to go ten miles, but one of the bikes tires was low, so we only went out one way and back. My goal is t... Sun, 21 Feb 2010 16:49:15 EST I reached a goal! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=877125 I can't believe it...I weighed myself today and I am now at 130!!! I reached my 1st mini-goal!!!

My next goal is to lose ten more pounds by the end of February...so I can go home (to hopefully see 'Wicked') and show my mom!!! Sat, 29 Dec 2007 19:35:02 EST Back on Track =) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=825755 I have been trying to make a more consious effort than I have in the last week or so. I'm back on track at Curves and am now going to go Monday-Friday, plus two days on the eliptical at my apartment. I'm not going to let this weight gain get me down!

And I've been chugging the water...I've been drinking at least four glasses, which is an improvement of none. I would like to get to eight, but I need to take baby steps! Tue, 13 Nov 2007 15:06:57 EST Boredom = Frustration http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=820832 Yep, definetly bored with Curves. I don't know, over the last couple of weeks I haven't felt motivated to go workout (at Curves that is). And just recently (like, since Monday). I feel myself creeping back into old eating habits [for example, I just got done eating a McRib from McDonalds...I had such a craving, but I just ate it and it wasn't even that good. Definetly not worth it.].

I need to get back on track. I need to get out of this rut, because this ISN'T working.

... Fri, 9 Nov 2007 12:39:56 EST Time to step it up a notch http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=815092 It's time to step it up. I'm not seeing the results I would like so it's time to change things up.

Yesterday, Jason and I went to our gym at our complex and I did the eliptical. What a workout! I think instead of just doing Curves three times a week (I'm starting to feel a bit bored with it), I'm also going to try to do the eliptical at least twice a week for a half-an-hour. I'm also going to try to go to the YMCA and use the pool twice a week.

Nutrition wise, I'm going ... Mon, 5 Nov 2007 13:12:14 EST EDIT from yesterday: I lost 10 POUNDS (not just one)!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=809802 When I wrote yesterday, I thought that I have only lost a pound. But then I went to go change my ticker that said 144 pounds on it. I went home and asked my husband if I ever weighed that much, and he said I did, right when we moved to North Carolina 6 months ago...that means that I have almost lost 10 POUNDS!

My ultimate goal is to be at 110-115 pounds with 13-15% body fat. My mini-goal is to be at 130 by Christmas. I only need to lose 6 pounds, so this is DOABLE! I want my mom to... Thu, 1 Nov 2007 10:13:40 EST I Lost a Pound!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=809063 I got really excited today when I went to Curves. The last time I weighed in (the 18th I think it was), I lost a half a pound, but a couple of inches, and my body fat had dropped like 5% (which is really good...I think I'm at a 29% now. Still not my ideal [I would LOVE to be at 13-15%]). Well, I found out that I lost a pound, which means I'm a POUND away from being at 135. Again, I want to be a 115, so that's still 25 pounds. The important thing is I'm losing, so I'm happy and motivated to wa... Wed, 31 Oct 2007 16:54:04 EST To join or not to join...that is the question... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=529627 I'm trying to decide if I should join Weight Watchers this evening...is it really worth the $$? I'm assuming that I should considering that I am having a difficult time trying to get this weight off on my own (meaning without recieving some motivation and support). It might be worth it just to be weighed in each week seeing as I don't own a scale.

Decisions, decisions... Tue, 24 Apr 2007 16:10:28 EST Back for Good this time... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=526194 Okay, here I go again. I think this is my third try trying to do this....lets hope this time it sticks.

Starting tomorrow I am going to go to my nearest Weight Watchers and go to a meeting. I'm going to drink water. I'm going to exercize for at least 30 minutes per day. And most importantly, I'm going to track my meals! I did okay the first time, but it obviously didn't stick, and it needs to this time!

And until I lose a decent amount of weight (I honestly don't know ho... Sun, 22 Apr 2007 16:26:52 EST
