I just finished up my first Zumba video session with a couple of the other ladies here on the college campus. It was a lot of fun. We decided to start with the beginner video that basically just teaches you all the moves. We did about 50 minutes worth of moves and it still broke me out in a sweat!! We laughed and had a good time. I am not a very coordinated person, so I am sure I was a sight to see, but I feel like that the moves will be fairly easy to learn and it may help me with my we... Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:11:12 EST Zumba ~ I'm Gonna Try It I live on a college campus and try to take a 1-mile walk every morning and then my hubby and I usually would do a evening jog. (we fell off that band-wagon a few months ago though...oops). I contribute walking and jogging to my weight loss success. I hope to pick the jogging back up once the weather cools back down. We have continued to do evening walks, but the jogging just got to be to hard in the heat. Anyway, one of the women has noticed me walking by her office window on those morni... Thu, 23 Jul 2015 15:44:24 EST I'VE LOST 50 LBS!! (PHOTOS) This has been a BIG week for me. My official weigh-in days are Wednesdays. I also weigh-in on Sundays as a mid-week check-in to keep myself in check and on target. I knew that I had fell to 149.2 and that I had hit the 50 pound lost mark, but didn't want to believe it unless I was still there on the official weigh-in day of Wednesday. Well, I did it!! I made sure I had my phone handy this time to snap a photo if it was still the same (or lower for that matter).

<img src="http... This is actually the 2nd follow-up appointment I have had. I had a 1-month follow-up and then today was an 8-week follow up from the 1-month appointment. I am feeling SO much better and more and more like my old self. The first month I was doing better but wasn't up to my full dose of medication. The medicine is a taper on and taper off type and so I wasn't up to dose yet. Now that I am there and have been there for about 5-6 weeks... Tue, 6 Jan 2015 13:43:39 EST I can wear a belt (that my hubby made me) AND not look fat!! One of the fun things about losing the weight is that I have discovered the fun in wearing belts again. I don't wear them all the time, but I do wear them again. I had absolutely stopped wearing them once I gained weight because they were NOT flattering at all on me. Anyway, I have started wearing belts again. It also, just so happens, that my hubby has picked up leather working as a hobby. He used to sit around as a little boy with his grandfather and work leather and watch his grandfat... Mon, 5 Jan 2015 10:00:54 EST Migraine Help At Last? I have been pretty busy lately so I can't really use my migraines as 100% of the reason why I have been MIA a lot since the spring. I will say that they are partly to blame. It started back around September of 2013. I suddenly had an increase in migraine attacks. I have always had 2-3 a YEAR. In September I had 2 in the month. That is a lot in short time for me, but I really didn't think anything about it. I had a pretty good October and then wham I had a couple in November. Then I ha... Sat, 25 Oct 2014 18:24:44 EST #ShareaCoke with Pictures Coke has started a new marketing campaign. I didn't know about it until I walked by the soda section and saw my name on a bottle. I thought I was seeing things, LOL! Needless to say, I bought it because it had my name on it. It currently is sitting on top of my refrigerator. I decided to watch for my DH and kids' names on bottles. I found a Coke Zero with Josh's (DH) name on it, but haven't seen either of my children's names yet. I would like to get all of our names in Classic Coke fo... Tue, 1 Jul 2014 09:31:02 EST Pull Up Assist Bands ~ Advice? So, I have been doing P90X3 and using Exercise bands to do the modification Pull Ups. I can't do an unassisted chin up/pull up....yet. I don't feel like the bands are doing as much for me anymore. I am still not in a place to be able to do even one unassisted.

My question is how does everyone feel about Assist Bands? Do they work and do you think this would be an option for me to build up to doing unassisted pull ups?

Thanks for your help!

~Amanda
<... Sat, 7 Sep 2013 09:01:53 EST My Fitbit is breaking!! =( First, my clip that it slides into broke. The clip part on back broke completely off, so I have had to wear it just as it is. It's been about a week and now the actual fitbit is breaking! I am so sad! I am past the 365 day warranty mark. It was 1 year old back in May. This little gadget is not cheap, so buying another one is not an option right now. This makes me so sad. And there is a BIG difference.

I didn't measure back when I started the weight loss journey all over again on January 4th 2012, but I had my old measurements from 2011 when I was around 189 pounds. Anyway, I just had to take some comparison pictures because the red blouse I wore for our Christmas pictures actually swallows me now!! I can't believe it! I am only on week 2 of the program, because I repeated week 1 and am currently repeating week 2. The reason for repeating would be the fact that there are 2 hills on the route my DH and I have mapped out. I wanted to share a couple of pictures of these hills with you all.

Here they are:

<img src="http://pho... Tue, 8 May 2012 22:55:45 EST Post Breast Cancer & Pregnant with Twins!!! I have one more day (tomorrow, Saturday) and then I will be done with week 2. This week has gone by really fast! I have loved every single workout. I didn't know if I would like stretch 40 or not, because I didn't really care for the Yoga on P90X. I did give it a try though and actually enjoyed it. The poses didn't get too difficult for me, so that may be why. Anyway, I felt like it helped my muscles recover from the workouts earlier in the week, but it sure did make me so... I might should have waited until tomorrow, but I just went ahead and did them today.

Again, I was not able to follow the diet plan exactly, in fact, not very much like it at all. Mon, 10 Jan 2011 14:04:39 EST Sprained Ankle!! It happened Sunday while walking into church. I was carrying my sleeping son, a pillow, a walmart sack, and my purse. My daughter was carrying another pillow and my husband was carrying some food up to the fellowship hall. I was attempting to step up on the sidewalk, but couldn't see it. I apparently made a bad judgment on where the sidewalk was because in an instant, I was on the ground with my son and everything sprawled out around me. My husband and I went out for our 11th anniversary on November 6th and I have been off track ever since. I tried to eat smaller portions and watch what I ate, but it threw me off anyway. We combined our anniversary with my birthday celebration, so we had some cheesecake. Cheesecake is TERRIBLE on calories, but it was SOOO yummy! LOL! Because i started a new job! I have been a stay at home mom since 2008, but my husband and I decided that we needed a little bit more income. This decision was a hard one to make, but we decided it HAD to be done. So, I went on a search for something part-time. I was hoping for a 4:00-8:00 or 4:00-9:00 position, because my husband gets off work at 3:30. That would mean we wouldn't have to worry about child care. I completed week 7 last week, but I had to stop before the 25 minutes was up. By the 3rd day I did run a solid 23 minutes, but I didn't feel like that was good enough to justify moving forward...especially since week 8 brings 28 minute running intervals. I figure I might as well repeat week 7 and get that endurance on up to the full 25 minutes. Today was W7D1 repeat and I made it the whole 25 minutes. I am just now writing a blog about it because I haven't been feeling very well. I came down with a migraine on Saturday and have felt pretty energy-less since. I am doing better and did day o1 of week 6 last night. Week 5 definitely had it's challenges. Week 6 is definitely presenting some new ones for me.
