Tells me what I have eaten throughout the day.
The one thing that could better that report is if ingredients across meals were combined together.
For eg: I use a little olive oil for lunch and dinner - it shows up as two different wedges on the report. Would be more useful if both those entries were added and shown as a single wedge.

Anyone have an idea if this can be done? Sun, 1 Jun 2014 11:34:14 EST Does appetite reduce with age? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5474630 I turn 40 in a month and a half. Often, I have heard people saying that they can't eat like they ate before and attribute it to age.

So, does age affect appetite?

I am seriously hoping it does. I have been exercising religiously for 4 years now - it has become part of what I am. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about my diet.

So here's to age
181
Hope that IT actually regulates appetite - I could use all the help I can get. Tue, 3 Sep 2013 12:54:05 EST The Food Scale is here! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5466877 Finally!!!

I am having a lot of fun measuring. Turns out that some of things I thought were high calorie are not and vice versa
My in-laws, who are currently staying with me, look at me as if I am crazy but they are too kind to say anything.

All said and done - I am able track my calories better. 224 Mon, 26 Aug 2013 13:43:18 EST To weigh or not to weigh? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5459950 The last few weeks have been terrible. I have eaten way way more than I should have. Last week I gained 2 lbs and I am sure that I have gained about 3-4 lbs this week as well. I have eaten that much!

So, the question is - should I weigh myself being that I know that I have undid most of the good I accomplished the last couple of months.

I am worried that if I weigh myself and see the actual gain, I will gorge on some more food to help with the ensuing depression.
B... Mon, 19 Aug 2013 13:21:26 EST Yo Yo Central. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5455080 I weighed myself today and I am 2 pounds up. Again in the 180's and back to my last month starting weight.
I have been going back and forth in the same range - so I am officially at a plateau.

I just have 40 mins a day that I can exercise - how do I break past this?

Plateau or no plateau - I need to continue the exercise and track the food. I cannot be discouraged. Wed, 14 Aug 2013 12:44:48 EST Sugar Overload. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5451258 Once a week, typically the weekend, I go and shop for the week. Earlier I used to get a load of junk food as well and it would all get over in 2 days.
Now, I have improved on that - I allow myself to get 1 or 2 items for the week - these 1-2 items are consumed the same day (that has not improved) but the amount of calories taken are lesser.

So yesterday, I got a pack of cookies (375 cal) and a bar of chocolate (190 cal). That was alright - what I did not realize that my husban... Sat, 10 Aug 2013 22:54:58 EST The Blessed 170’s http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5448807 After 4 years, I have reached the 170’s again. I had last reached here in 2009. It is a fantastic feeling.

As the pounds come off, it becomes harder to lose the remaining pounds. I have been yoyo-ing these last 30 days

7/9 - 181.5
7/18 - 182
7/25 - 182.1
8/1 - 184.1
8/8 - 179.8

But I have kept pushing.

We just need to 386 . How I pigged at the buffet, how I have gained weight and so on and so forth. I can be pretty tough on myself.
Today, however, I have something positive to report. Twice this week, my acquaintances have remarked that I have lost weight.
One said "You are growing thinner by the day". The other remarked "You have lost so much weight. While I am certainly over my calorie limit today, I ate a good deal of protein. Of course, the sweet tooth continued to dominate but this was one of my better days.
In order to make myself more accountable, I am listing all the other days I have hit the buffet.

I will publish this list with the dates, everytime I dine at any buffet. I have gained a little more than 2 pounds this month.

I walk 40 mins a day 3 days a week, 80 mins on Sat and cycle 40 mins on Sun. I do not really want to do more than this (time wise) because it is not sustainable for me.

That leaves me with nutrition.
I need to make some more changes to my diet. I was 83.1 kgs last week and the scale showed 83.8 kgs yesterday. OMG!!!!!

So, I wondered if this was the weight of the food that I actually consumed. Today, we had a going away lunch for a colleague and my other pals suggested a buffet. I was just analyzing my calories burnt the other day and I realized that I spend more calories following the spark videos for 40 mins compared to my usual brisk walking.

That got me thinking – How do they determine the calories that are burned? For walking, it is based on the distance, time taken and weight. Do the calories... Suffice to say the chocolate was not the only thing that died, crashed and burned.
Day 2 (today) was better. Sugar was 3 tsp a day. I did gorge a lot on peanut butter. I do love it with phulka (a whole wheat flat bread). I worked from home today - would have done better if I went to work. I want to restrict myself to 3 tsp of added sugar a day - apparently a woman is supposed to consume a max of 6 tsp of sugar a day - so I am aiming for 50% of that.

W2 was 4 good and 3 bad days. I hope to improve on that. I must have had 10 tsp of sugar 2 - much more than the planned 3.

The good news however is that today was my weekly weigh-in. I lost almost 2 pounds.
