ALIALI2013's SparkPeople Blog ALIALI2013's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Christmas soon, and a Birthday coming up. Well not sure how much I'll be around this weekend, I have to be at Sentry to sell tickets for the Shop N Grab from 8 am until 10 pm both Saturday and Sunday because only one other board member volunteered to do it, which sucks. So it's up to me to be there, too.

I hate it because I wanted to watch the Packer game on Sunday, and I'll miss that, too. No radio to listen to, either, ARRRRGGGHHHHHH. I just hope we sell a lot of them, right now we've gone over what we needed to brea... Fri, 19 Dec 2014 11:45:23 EST The Perfect Present Wrapping. I want to start by thanking you all; you know, I read all of what you had to say and thought, "wow...that's usually what I tell other people, I never imagined I'd be told the same thing".

But I needed to hear it. The other day was bad for me, and when I went to the Doctor and saw I was back up to 272 pounds (my highest was 286), and my hemoglobin A1C was clear up to 7.5 (I have never been above 6.6 since being on the insulin pump) I KNEW I had to change things.

I looke... Thu, 18 Dec 2014 13:33:01 EST Bad Days Come To All Ever have one of those days when you just want to sit and cry because things look hopeless?

When I first started SP almost 2 years ago I imagined myself being this 180 pound beauty; but instead I'm still at the weight I was, having lost some and gained some, and unable to figure out why. Though I'd exercised and followed my diet very carefully, nothing was helping, and now I feel like crying because no matter what I do, I just can't get to a lower weight.

Before my Da... Tue, 16 Dec 2014 12:52:06 EST Busy still. Wow, don't think this will slow down until this playground is built, I swear I've either been emailing, talking on the phone, or driving somewhere every second of the day. Alright, that's a little exaggeration, but sure seems like it. I'm exhausted by the end of the day because I'm doing so much and exercise, are you kidding? I don't even have time to do that with all the running around, so I just try to walk a little extra, take stairs, etc. I don't know if it's doing any good, but hey, i... Mon, 15 Dec 2014 23:27:35 EST A Busy Weekend. Wow, I can't believe my last post was Thursday, I guess I have been busy.

Well, the Ticket sales on Friday and Saturday went really well, we sold $195. worth of tickets (at 6 for $5 and 4 for $1/each because the 2 who were selling before I got there didn't know and sold 4 of the tickets for $1/each. (Grrr. but oh well. We'd all voted that it would be easier to just do the 6 for $5 instead of individual tickets, but I guess they weren't paying attention.)

I went to the... Sun, 14 Dec 2014 22:57:57 EST Finished I finally finished putting up everything, all we had to do was the outside bulbs on the tree, and my son helped me out, oh and the ribbons, so we got all those done today and yesterday. Thank you, Scott! I have such a great son.

My fingers were so cold, it's really chilly outside today, yesterday was nicer, that's for sure.

Still didn't get as many as I'd liked to help with the selling of tickets at the two places, and one of the women who was going to do it, had to ... Thu, 11 Dec 2014 14:31:41 EST Lit up I figured I showed what the inside looks like, so tonight I'd share the outside, and more of the inside, but what the lights look like.

I hope you all have had an incredible day. I'm a little late, but it's because so much is going on with the playground, wrapping gifts, and just trying to do so much to prepare for Christmas.

Kmart is closed now, and I already miss it, I was thinking of things I needed to go and pick up, then realized the store wasn't there anymore to g... Wed, 10 Dec 2014 19:37:25 EST Decorations done Thank you, everyone, you really made my day, today.

I do the poinsettia because my father in law had a massive heart attack on Christmas eve, I went over and did CPR and kept him alive until the paramedics came, but they had me continue compressions. He lived until Christmas Day when they disconnected him (family wanted it), but at least we all got to say our goodbyes.

I also do it in memory of my own Dad who passed away 2/10/12 because he was such a giving, loving pers... Tue, 9 Dec 2014 14:45:51 EST Things done today. Seemed like today was just going so wrong, but I got to the interview, it went great. Steve Benton is such a great guy, makes you feel so comfortable.

I also stopped at the Credit Union, and the Sentry Store to ask if we could sit with a table to sell tickets, and they both said yes. We do it this Friday and Saturday, at the Credit Union, and then the 20th and 21st at the store itself. how wonderful!!

I stopped in and got my annual poinsettia which I have sent to a... Mon, 8 Dec 2014 17:53:06 EST Sad and Good Had such a great fundraiser; sold a LOT of baked goods and Wrapped quite a bit of gifts, and sold a bunch of tickets, both for the dog and the Shop N Grab.

At church I got to speak at both services and then afterwards, people donated money for the rebuild. The bake sale/etc brought us about $450. and the money donated at church was $585., so we made over $1000 from the two events, what a weekend.

I have a radio interview tomorrow, so I got lots to tell them, what a wond... Sun, 7 Dec 2014 21:21:42 EST A Wow Day! feet actually hurt, it's been such a long time since my feet have hurt.

I left the house at 1 pm, and didn't sit down until about an hour ago. Ended up going to the first bank, then the post office, then the cemetery (to read to my Dad), then I headed out to Hobby Lobby to get some craft things, then to Farm & Fleet, then the second bank, and back to Kutters before going to meet hubby and our son at Burger King. Then we went grocery shopping, and I came home.

... Fri, 5 Dec 2014 23:19:07 EST Pretties Wow, today was another busy day, haven't gotten my blood sugar taken yet, have to do a fasting and we live a ways out of town so I only go into town once a week, normally.

I hope you all have something wonderful planned for this weekend. I spent all day and part of the night yesterday baking things for the bake sale. I hope it brings in a lot of money, because we could use it.

Have a great weekend, and always smile, you'll make someones day, even if it's your own.
... Thu, 4 Dec 2014 22:41:13 EST Needles Back from town, again, got the donation and our raffle licenses delivered, got a package mailed, got home and found out the one person had paid for their package, and now I have to run back into town tomorrow.

Maybe I'll get my blood taken, the doc needs it before my appointment. Wish they could just do it through the skin without the needle. Sounds weird having someone who took 9 shots a day before my insulin pump to say they wish blood could be taken without needles, but it's ... Tue, 2 Dec 2014 14:31:34 EST Surprise. A very cold day today, couldn't believe the drop in temperature, but that's how it goes in the winter time, right?

I've been working all day on things for the playground. We got our raffle license, but not in time to have the event before Christmas. So, the new date is January 2nd. Kind of a letdown, but we move forward.

OH, the good news, I opened my mail today and the grant request I'd sent in worked..I have a check for $8,000, which brings us up to $130,000 raised... Mon, 1 Dec 2014 21:54:27 EST Blessed Sunday Brrrr cold outside today. It wasn't bad when I went out without my coat to get the paper earlier, but I went out about an hour ago and nearly froze my fingers off. I couldn't believe it'd dropped that much, and this morning my hair was wet from just getting out of the shower.

Been working on more fishing poles for our daughter's wedding, have about 91 done so far, well, not completely, but the painting, reels on, and rubber handles on. Been busy cleaning up the house; working on the fishing poles for our daughter's wedding; etc, etc, you name it, I've been doing it. I have to leave for church in an hour, this day has really gone by quickly.

I hope you're all keeping warm and enjoying the evening, and never forget to bless someone with your'll be glad you did..and so will they.

*hugs* to all.

My Aunt, my Mom and all her Granddaughters:
<img src="http://photos-ak.sparkpeop... Sat, 29 Nov 2014 16:09:07 EST Christmas Shopping Time Well, I didn't actually go out shopping, but I got our daughter's Christmas list and at least have a chance to search to see where I can get it cheapest. It's too cold to go outside, ok, not as bad as yesterday, but still cold.

My Husband dropped me off at the cemetery so I could "visit" my Dad. I sang Happy Birthday to him, because it would have been his 86th Birthday yesterday on Thanksgiving. I then read from his book to him, and nearly froze, but I'd do this for my Dad and m... Fri, 28 Nov 2014 17:18:13 EST Holiday planning Been so busy again, is that unusual..nope.

Our daughter got a new car, her very first NEW one (2014 Cruze) which she's named "Blues Cruze", so funny. I'm so happy for her/them, I hope she's able to keep this one as long as she had the Cavalier (11 years).

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving, not sure I'll make it back on tomorrow and Saturday we're going to my Mom's to make lefse for Christmas supper. A "tradition" started last year, because our daughter and... Wed, 26 Nov 2014 20:23:40 EST City Council Meeting The meeting went GREAT, of course I was stuttering around a little, but once I got into the groove, it was wonderful.

My Mom watched it on tv and said I did a good job, I was so happy!! I'd never done a powerpoint program before, so I was more nervous about all that.

Driving in was icy, and saw one car in the ditch (too far that I couldn't have done anything had I been able to stop. Besides, they were across from a farm and the owner had just pulled in the driveway and... Tue, 25 Nov 2014 13:26:42 EST Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow. It's another cool day in WI with snow expected (already had ice this morning); and windy. But I am in the state where this happens, and I wouldn't change a thing.

I love the 4 seasons, every bit of them, the beauty in each is incredible and I think God every day for what he's allowed us...Snow, rain, sunshine, hail, it doesn't matter, each has a beauty of it's own, even tornadoes and such. I'm blessed to be allowed to witness all of it.

Have a wonderful day, everyone,... Mon, 24 Nov 2014 13:41:20 EST Lots done. Let's see, I worked on more poles today, and made the second flower ball, so those are done.

Working on making plans for a few little fishing boats; something easy, nothing hard; and quick. That way I'll just put the poles in the boat (4 of them in each boat) to set at each table.

I'm having so much fun, can you tell? *L*

My Grandpuppy didn't even wake up until my alarm went off this morning, was so nice to sleep til 8:30. He's been so good. It's cute, ... Sun, 23 Nov 2014 00:43:40 EST Grandpuppy Well, today is the start of a busy day, so I'm stopping by early, though I feel like I could fall asleep at any minute.

Have my Grand-puppy here with me, already had to go outside once, will have to take him out before I leave later, too. Least it's not super cold. Tomorrow's the day I'm not looking forward to, it's supposed to be freezing rain in the morning, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

That means I have to dry him off everytime I bring him in, besides freezing my backside ... Fri, 21 Nov 2014 12:46:02 EST Mess ups, build ups, and weekend plans. Wow, I can tell I've not done my walking exercises in a week and half or so, because did my body show it! It's a little sore, but in a good way. But the good thing is my knee didn't hurt YAY!! now I can get back in the groove!!

So today I increased my exercises and did 30 minutes, 15 of my arm (fight the arm flab) exercises, which is with 2-3 pound weights and working the upper body; and my "walk away the pounds" exercise video. I can really feel it, too.

I need to ca... Thu, 20 Nov 2014 13:40:40 EST Flower Balls and fishing poles The interview at the radio station went GREAT; we even got a photo of the check presentation which the Janesville Messenger is going to put in the paper.

Friday we have the "Wrap-up" fundraiser on Friday, grocery shopping tomorrow night, and tonight we have a special CAMDEN Meeting. Wed, 19 Nov 2014 16:55:17 EST Lefse Making Wow, I'm actually here earlier than normal..but then again, I have a lot of things to do this week, so I figured I'm going to do this and get is done before doing everything else..hope no one passed out hearing that. :D

I hope you all have a great day, nothing exciting happened here with me yesterday or today, so this is going to be a boring thread.

Our daughter and I may be going to my Mom's again this year to make Lefse with her and my aunt on Saturday. It was so mu... Mon, 17 Nov 2014 10:57:54 EST Just stuff! I swear I'm losing my mind, I keep thinking I have the city council meeting tomorrow; now watch me show up at the building and wait for them to open the doors. *L*

Everyone's going to be gone this weekend, deer hunting season, you know, so it'll just be my grandpuppy and myself. Friday I have that giftwrapping fundraiser, so I'll be gone part of the time, but it'll be fun. I love to gift wrap. I hope we raise quite a bit, I know it won't be a fortune, but like I always say, every... Sun, 16 Nov 2014 23:26:50 EST Long week ahead Ok, put plastic on some of the windows, did my exercises, and looking at the calendar, cringing at all I have to do this coming week. YIKES.

Tuesday: Dr's appointment and a radio interview on CAMDEN Playground; Wednesday: CAMDEN Board meeting; Friday (thank goodness the newspaper interview was changed from Thursday of this week!!): Wrap Up (a fundraiser where the CAMDEN Board will be working with the SCWHOG and wrapping presents for people. All donations go to the playground). <... Sat, 15 Nov 2014 15:09:42 EST Watch out for Deer out there. Well, got a call from our daughter last night; she was on her way home from work. She'd taken the main highway to avoid any deer, and turned onto her road, got about 3 miles down the road, and WHAM..a deer jumped the fence, landed right in front of her car, she hit it and it spun around and hit the side of her car.

Result? She couldn't open her door but for 1" or so. She called us because her fiance was working and wasn't answering his phone, then she called her future mother in... Fri, 14 Nov 2014 14:28:18 EST More accomplished..YAY I finally found some "picks" to hold the table numbers, and their pictures; the ones for the numbers are swirls in colors, and for the photos, they're in the shape of butterflies. I thought in the middle of the flowers, the butterflies would look so cute.

Anyway, here's what they look like:

I've been setti... Thu, 13 Nov 2014 16:59:29 EST Busy work Wow, I feel like a chicken running around with it's head cut off. So far today I've worked on creating, laminated, and cut out the table numbers for our daughter's wedding:

I've sent emails out trying to get a meeting arranged about the playground:

I spoke to the City Parks Director about whether or not we can choose the architect we have (the city's been dragging their feet for the past 2 months on this, frustrating):

And I've attempted to contact others in ... Wed, 12 Nov 2014 16:04:39 EST Chill factor Wow, what a drop in snow, but geesh it got cold out. We got the front lights up, and the things that needed to go into the ground, I hope, but we still have to put the bush lights up and the front window and garage door lights. We were thinking tonight, but I don't know what time my husband will be home. I'm hoping soon enough to help get the lights down at least.

Went into the garage last night and something swooped down around me and went flying to the corner. I tho... Tue, 11 Nov 2014 15:36:12 EST Lots going on Been spending a lot of the day searching for ivory beads (which aren't plastic, but heavy duty for a wedding dress) and crystals. It's so nice of our daughter's fiance that his aunt is so anxious to put the embellishments on it, but they do live right next door to them, and have become close. The only thing is they're going to have to hide the dress from Dan, her fiance.

It's a beautiful day, today, and so much going on. Been working on the magnets our daughter wants to send for... Mon, 10 Nov 2014 17:20:29 EST Accomplishments are GREAT! Left early this morning, got back late, but accomplished a lot.

The dress has been chosen..actually, the Dresses: bridesmaids, too, which is wonderful. And though they didn't pick out the one our daughter wanted, she loves the one they did pick out, because it looks so good on each of them, and actually goes with her dress.

She also is going to get the boots I posted before, so they're ordered, too. Now I'm hoping and praying they fit.

Anyway, it's been a b... Sun, 9 Nov 2014 00:45:15 EST More shopping and a movie tonight. No pictures today, but tomorrow..we have 5 bridesmaids, and our daughter going up to look for dresses; oh and one of the ushers (another of our daughters girlfriends). Brande chose to have her and her young son (10) be ushers, because they've been around each other for the past 4 years and even have stayed up at our trailer with us all many times.

Anyway, it's up to David's Bridal, and then to the western place where they have over 500 boots, but they close at 5 pm so not sure ho... Fri, 7 Nov 2014 13:16:25 EST Dresses Our daughter and I went to look at more wedding dresses, this time in Clinton, and she tried on quite a few. There was one in particular that looked so nice on her, and she actually liked it a lot.

She's waiting to go to David's Bridal in Madison on Saturday before definitely deciding, but with this one, she can have it altered any way she wants. therefore she can make it different than anyone else's at little or no cost, and the hemming is free. I love to see her trying on all ... Wed, 5 Nov 2014 19:49:51 EST Card Box Got the Halloween decorations put up, clothes washed, making a roast with potaoes and carrots for supper, and did a LOT of looking into how to make a scrapbook. I have an idea for our daughter and future SIL's gift box, I hope they like it, or I should say, I hope it turns out. They both like hunting, so I thought maybe a hunting blind with a burlap sign saying "Cards" and their initials on the front of it. (They are using burlap in the wedding bouquets, to wrap the stems.) I hope it work... Tue, 4 Nov 2014 16:48:54 EST Productive weekend. Wow...lots of things going on, no internet yesterday/this morning, but I'm here now, thank goodness.

I did get a lot done, took down Halloween decorations and put up the 1 Thanksgiving one we have. (I want to get some Thanksgiving ones for outside so bad, but can't find any I like. I don't like the "blow up" types, and there's not really anything else around anymore.

Anyway, I have pictures of the dress our daughter tried on. She found one she liked that fit her near p... Fri, 31 Oct 2014 17:44:31 EST Halloween around the corner...ok...tomorrow. Got my "seated" exercises done, my knee is feeling better, doesn't hurt much at all, but I'm not going to chance it like I did before and hurt it again. I'll stay calm and let it heal more. Maybe a week more and I'll try it again. In the meantime it's 1/2 hour of seated with weights, I'm hoping I get the same benefit as the walking/aerobic exercises I normally do.

Halloween's tomorrow, anyone doing anything for this holiday? I always forget to have someone take my photo when I ... Thu, 30 Oct 2014 14:07:05 EST Chicken Cold outside today, I'm making some baked chicken, dressing and left over pototoes for supper. I'll be eating the baked chicken and 1 piece of bread with it and my pineapple for dessert, just sounds good.

We've never made anything but baked chicken here (no breading, nothing, just seasoning on it, and it's delicious!

Haven't done a lot, just been nursing my knee, and it does feel somewhat better. I know, its' a boring day, today, so take it easy and enjoy it. Have a... Wed, 29 Oct 2014 15:14:41 EST Injury Lesson Ok, I thought I was doing good...but discovered one thing...never EVER start exercising after an injury, until you allow a LOT of time to pass to recover.

I'd twisted my right knee last week, and it hurt a lot this weekend. Well, today it wasn't hurting at all, I even tested walking around on it, etc, etc. and it felt just fine, so I decided to try doing my regular exercises instead of the seated ones.

Well, I was 7 minutes into them exercises, and with the knee lifts,... Tue, 28 Oct 2014 13:14:08 EST Pumpkins, Haunted Houses, and Good Times Wow, 14 people went with us to the Haunted Houses on Saturday, we went out to eat beforehand, not all of us, but at least 10 of us, and had such a great time. We ended up at 2 HH's because they all close at 11 (Really???? Haunted Houses close at 11??? oh well.)

One wasn't so scary, BUT it's done in memory of a teen who died of a brain tumor a year after my Dad did, and the money goes for a memorial scholarship in her name, so it was well worth it. The second was fantastic and I ... Mon, 27 Oct 2014 12:34:44 EST "Fury"! Scott, our son, and I went to see "Fury" last night, and I nearly fell over. He is a huge WWII history buff (I am not kidding, he's told me secrets about the War that I swear, the majority of people wouldn't know, he can tell you where every single battle took place, how many died, what type of guns/tanks/planes were used, the names of every city there was a battle near, etc etc. You name it he can tell you it..ANYWAY) this is the first WWII movie he has said has been the most accurate in e... Fri, 24 Oct 2014 11:59:26 EST Engagement pics, Horror Shows, Internet Horror Well, lost the internet again, for 2 days; but this time there were other internet services that lost theirs, too. Apparently something in a huge fiber optics box went wrong, and 3 different services went out, including ours. That was Tuesday night a 11:30 pm, and it just came back about 45 mins ago. Thank goodness.

It's rainy looking out, Scott, our son, wants to go see "Fury", but he said it's supposed to be really bloody...I prefer not so bloody, I mean I can handle it, but t... Thu, 23 Oct 2014 15:59:35 EST Take the good with the bad. Today is a very cool day, but then it is the middle of October.

We have a group of us (Daughter, Son, nephew, his Gf, Brother, Sister in law, Daughter's friend (one of my "daughters") all going to haunted houses this Saturday, it should be a LOT of fun. Tue, 21 Oct 2014 12:24:10 EST Love the Monday! Not much going on here, have to take our Impala in for the recall on that vehicle on Thursday, also have to have them put the new battery in because, as with most newer vehicles, you can't replace your battery yourself anymore because of how they've rearranged everything and put the battery underneath everything, FORCING you to take it somewhere to have it put in. So frustrating.

They're taking away your ability to do anything yourself anymore, and it's such a pain. Now you have... Mon, 20 Oct 2014 10:50:39 EST Win-Win Cool and wet day, I keep looking towards the west trying to see if it's clearing up over there and it does look like it, so maybe they'll have clear skies for their engagement pictures. I sure hope so, because it's so beautiful over there, and after a 3 hour trip, I hope it all works out.

I have so much to work on, still working on the garland, going to add a few closed sunflowers (I showed it to the future bride/groom (daughter and her fiance) and he wondered about adding them, a... Sat, 18 Oct 2014 10:40:31 EST Done Deal. Got a call from WISC-TV Channel 3, Steve in regards to whether or not the pool place had came through. He said to call them if we didn't get what was promised, so I told him we would. They have been so incredibly helpful, thank goodness for them, if not we wouldn't have thought to call the BBB (or contact them), and to know that they'll be there if we don't get what was decided upon, helps a lot.

Daughter and her fiance are supposed to come over after we get groceries to pick up ... Fri, 17 Oct 2014 12:35:16 EST Wedding plans and pool update. Had to use the photo our daughter took of their farm during a sunset shot. It was so beautiful and to me, a perfect "fall" picture. I love the colors and all, and I keep telling her to turn it in to a magazine or something. I think they'd accept it. The coloring is just beautiful and really shows what Wisconsin is like.

She also sent me a picture of two fawns (a while back) playing, that was caught on one of their game cameras. I don't know if I'd posted it before, but I'll po...
