ALIALI2013's SparkPeople Blog ALIALI2013's Blog on SparkPeople, home of free diet plans and a healthy living community Win-Win Cool and wet day, I keep looking towards the west trying to see if it's clearing up over there and it does look like it, so maybe they'll have clear skies for their engagement pictures. I sure hope so, because it's so beautiful over there, and after a 3 hour trip, I hope it all works out.

I have so much to work on, still working on the garland, going to add a few closed sunflowers (I showed it to the future bride/groom (daughter and her fiance) and he wondered about adding them, a... Sat, 18 Oct 2014 10:40:31 EST Done Deal. Got a call from WISC-TV Channel 3, Steve in regards to whether or not the pool place had came through. He said to call them if we didn't get what was promised, so I told him we would. They have been so incredibly helpful, thank goodness for them, if not we wouldn't have thought to call the BBB (or contact them), and to know that they'll be there if we don't get what was decided upon, helps a lot.

Daughter and her fiance are supposed to come over after we get groceries to pick up ... Fri, 17 Oct 2014 12:35:16 EST Wedding plans and pool update. Had to use the photo our daughter took of their farm during a sunset shot. It was so beautiful and to me, a perfect "fall" picture. I love the colors and all, and I keep telling her to turn it in to a magazine or something. I think they'd accept it. The coloring is just beautiful and really shows what Wisconsin is like.

She also sent me a picture of two fawns (a while back) playing, that was caught on one of their game cameras. I don't know if I'd posted it before, but I'll po... Thu, 16 Oct 2014 11:57:52 EST Rain, Rain Go Away! 2 3/4" of rain yesterday, 3" Sunday, over 1"'s a lot of rain, and looks like there's more on the way.

Yep, our pools full now *L* glad it's not overflowing!!

I hope you all have a wonderful day, I'm off to do my exercising, and eat my breakfast.

Question: What do you do first, exercise or eat...which is more beneficial to you?

Have a great day, don't forget to smile!

Had to share this pic of our son in front of the... Wed, 15 Oct 2014 11:09:53 EST What a wonderful Day! 3" of rain so far, but it's still a glorious day.

Have another project for our daughter's wedding, but I LOVE IT. So I ran into town today and picked up all I needed, BUT the wooden heart. Not one place in town had an 8" wooden heart, not one. That shocked me, because I' would have thought Hobby Lobby or Michael's would have carried it.

Anyway, spent way over what I wanted for everything, but I did get the zebra grass I needed, and I'm 1 short on the sparkly flowers f... Tue, 14 Oct 2014 13:45:24 EST Great Days Well, it's a beautiful day, despite the rain clouds; there's always sunshine underneath them you know.

Never search for the sunshine, let it find you, and when it does, share it. Just as you can share your smiles, share the sunshine and make the lives of others much brighter.

Not much to talk about, still doing my exercising; so that's good, watching the food intake still, etc. The usual stuff.

Have a wonderful day, always smile, smile, SMILE!! 334</e... Mon, 13 Oct 2014 13:11:08 EST Gators and exercise lapse Ok, I know this is going to sound bad, but just wait.

I had stopped my exercising for a few weeks, and yesterday I got back into them again. I'm testing something, because I'd not been losing weight; to see if I stop for a little bit, if I start losing again. I did stick to my diet, so that was good, and am drinking my water, too. I just wanted to test, because when I went into the doctor last (after stopping), it was the first time I'd lost weight. So it's an experiment of sor... Sun, 12 Oct 2014 11:26:04 EST YAY...kind of Well...the leaves are gone, they came AFTER we left late yesterday afternoon (around 5 is when my husband left, and they came after that). Needless to say they didn't touch the stain on the bottom, which better not weaken the liner. If it does......

BUT at least the leaves are gone. It just really upsets me that businesses like that don't stand behind what they do and instead put the blame on the ones they're supposedly working for. What ever happened to old time ethics and wor... Sat, 11 Oct 2014 12:31:58 EST CALGON...take me away...for good! So I've sat here alllll day long waiting for these people to come and get the leaves out of the pool...did they show up? NO!

I'm so sick of this, so when Channel 3 Action news called (in regards to the old problem, which the guy still hasn't called us back) I also went through all we've been through with this new business. I'd love to file another report with them in regards to this, because these people are just about as bad!

Yesterday when they called I'd asked the ... Fri, 10 Oct 2014 15:58:33 EST Cold chilly weather...FALL IS HERE!! Alright, only about 2" before it's up to the level where I have to stop because they have to put in the hose. YES!! what a relief, but I'm going to have to turn off the hose in about 15 mins, because that'll be my 2 hour run in the morning. Then I'll turn it on again this afternoon for another 2 hours. Hubby doesn't want it running constantly more than that, with having a pump that's 31 years old and our own well, just not good for it.

Everyone of the pool stores kept telling ... Thu, 9 Oct 2014 11:48:15 EST Guess What?? GUESS WHAT???? Got Water, not from the place we'd originally ordered it, but we found a place in Elgin, IL that delivered, for $30 more. We only needed one more load, because if he'd brought another it would have filled it above the skimmer.

Now, just to get Nelson's out to finish it up (cut out the skimmer hole, etc, and clean up the dang leaves and the white stain in the bottom. I have a feeling that's going to be a fight now!!) I called them yesterday and asked them to come o... Wed, 8 Oct 2014 12:45:09 EST Such a great family Our daughter took me out for lunch, yesterday and we went to Olive Garden, had soup and salad...mmmmmm.. then we went to see Annabelle, which we loved. More for the "WOW" surprises in the movie, but I knew the background of the real Annabelle and had to show her a photo of the real doll, who is a Raggedy Ann doll and locked in a case at the Warren's Museum to keep it away from people in a glass box with a sign on it. Very interesting to say the least.

Anyway, we had such a great ... Tue, 7 Oct 2014 14:19:52 EST Great Friends/Family Birthday Weekend Well, back and had a fantastic time. Did so much on my birthday, of course shared the day with a friend whose birthday is the same day, but wow...all the people and great time we had, wonderful.

Nope, I didn't get drunk, either, I just had a great time. It was cold out, but hey, there was a fire down at the bar where the party was held, and we stood outside after the bar closed and all just talked and enjoyed ourselves, then walked back up to our trailers. What a wonderful time.... Sun, 5 Oct 2014 20:27:42 EST Birthday Surprises Today was an "awwww" day, our daughter called and wanted to know if I could meet her and pick up the items to make her famous dip, so I told her I could, then she asked if I wanted to go out for lunch..she'd pay for it for my birthday present. AWWWWWW she is such a sweetheart, both of our kids are, we are so blessed.

She had our grandpuppy with her, but I suggested that maybe we do it next Monday (Orfordville had 1 bar/restaurant to eat at and Janesville would give us a bigger ... Wed, 1 Oct 2014 13:49:43 EST Good, Bad, Ugly..or just Good. :) Well I tried to look up people that deliver I found charges $1,500. I was like WHAT are you joking??? whoa...just to deliver water. Dang...Most places say "use your own hose", and I keep thinking, if we use our own hose, we're not only using the water from our well, BUT we also are putting wear and tear on our own well, are you kidding me????

There has to be people out there who will deliver water, where in the world are they. I called on place and they said they can... Tue, 30 Sep 2014 17:36:23 EST Dislike Colds Ok, now this cold is getting better, I've started drinking my Camomile tea, and am going to pick up some Naked Juice, someone told me that's supposed to help get rid of colds, too. Let's keep our fingers crossed, because I really don't want to do an interview and a speech while sneezing and coughing my head off. Doesn't really look good in any way.

Still no water in the pool, told my husband he can call them and tell them that they can find someone else to put water in the pool a... Sun, 28 Sep 2014 23:07:31 EST Fun times. The graduation was wonderful, I'm so proud of Becky, she'd worked so hard and never gave up on her dream. Though she'd failed at one class, twice, she kept at it and succeeded and finally passed on to graduate from college to move towards her Vet tech's license. Now she has to take the two tests and I wish her the very best. I know both tests are very hard, Brande, our daughter, had to take them, so I hope and pray she is able to succeed in passing them.

Still no water in the po... Sat, 27 Sep 2014 12:32:14 EST Moving ahead. Contacted WISC channel 3 and they called me today, but because we went with another company they can't do much, BUT they did suggest I contact the Better Business Bureau and gave me all the information. So I filed a complaint with them, let's see where that goes.

Still no water in sight, I did stop in there yesterday and the woman called the guy while I was in there, and no, she wasn't real nice in the message she left.

Went to Kmart and bought 3 pairs of my fav jeans,... Fri, 26 Sep 2014 15:38:16 EST The hidden truth Ok, what bothers me about this store closing, is the fact that the guy who owns the building flat out lied in the paper.

The true reason they're closing is because they've asked this Tom Lasse multiple times to fix/repair the building (roof leaks, etc) and he refused to do it. Now, because the building is in such need of repairs, and he's raised the rent so high, they are forced out of there. Tom Lasse has already said, in the paper, that he has multiple businesses lined up for t... Wed, 24 Sep 2014 17:33:22 EST Can we skip the rest of the year? Can we just skip the rest of this year?

Read in the paper, THE PAPER, that Kmart is closing here, the place where our son works, and he didn't even know about it.

Kmart is the only place we shop; not shopko (too expensive); not Target (got ripped off by them); not Walmart (don't like their policies with their workers at all, plus to out of the way). Kmart has been there since 1968, I don't know why they'd get rid of one of their oldest stores, and one that gets so much ... Tue, 23 Sep 2014 16:51:01 EST No water yet. Think the pool company owners are looking for someone new to haul water, because the guy came out and couldn't believe he'd still not filled the pool. He's waiting to put the skimmer and hose intake back in, and can't until the pool's filled. Not only that, but now there seems to be some algae starting in the little bit of water there.

He said he was going to bring some algaecide to put in the pool and shock, to keep it clean until the guy comes, or they get someone else to haul... Mon, 22 Sep 2014 13:13:32 EST Sigh Ok, so the water guy didn't show up Saturday, hasn't shown up today...we're sitting here with a very large pool with about 2' (if that) of water in the bottom. I'm just waiting for a huge storm to come through and take it down, which, if it does, they'll be putting a whole new pool in, free of charge!

This water guy needs to be replaced; he left our house to deliver water on the other side of Janesville and said he'd be're right, people are so undependable anymore. No m... Sun, 21 Sep 2014 15:29:40 EST Maybe Sunday? Well, they finally came at 4:30 pm as we were leaving for town. Got back from town and the guys were back....working on the pool because one side of the liner had slipped in. After they left, we checked before hubby went to bed, and it had slipped out again, and of course when I tried to call, the place was closed. I took pictures of it for later, and called again this morning to let them know, so the owners themselves came out to fix it. After they left, I was out checking the pool, and f... Sat, 20 Sep 2014 16:17:52 EST ARRRGGGHHHHHH Ok, the guy was supposed to be here at noon to fill the's now 1:30 and no sign of him, so I called Nelson's and the woman who is supposed to "know", is at luck isn't getting any better, so I'm just hoping he makes it before we have to leave when my husband gets home from work, so we can make the bank before they close. I wanted to take some water in to have it tested from the pool, but if they don't get here to fill it, we're out of luck.

And if the shades ov... Fri, 19 Sep 2014 14:33:46 EST Updates Car & Pool It's funny, we get the car fixed, and get a "recall notice" for both vehicles in which they don't have the parts available yet. What's funny is the one for the car is the one I contacted the dealership about a few months back and they'd not heard about it yet. Wow, I'm up on the times ahead of anyone else. *L*

They're putting the new liner in now, the amount of things wrong is amazing, that the other place did.

The reason for all the holes is because they had the line... Thu, 18 Sep 2014 16:21:42 EST Lots to do today. I almost wish this week were over, but the way the year is going, I'd rather have it all slow down some.

My Brewers beat the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-2 in the 12th, YAY, what a relief, games like that drive me nuts, a real nailbiter, but least they won.

Was so busy today, had to pick up my husband's car after he got off work; they ended up putting on 4 new tires, alignment, fixing the brakes, (new pads, etc.), fixing the battery cable, and we now need to get a new batter... Wed, 17 Sep 2014 00:21:14 EST Cold Fish. It was so cold this weekend, I ended up with a sweatshirt and long sleeved shirt over it, plus my winter pj's on, but then again, we only have a pellet stove in the living room of the trailer, so it's not like the entire trailer is heated (it's safer, too).

I got first place bass (Small mouth, 14.5" long) weren't many fish caught, but the thing that gets me is there is a fish place in Lynxville who's grandkids, kids, wife, and himself always win first and second place for largest f... Mon, 15 Sep 2014 15:31:01 EST Gifts, Injuries, and Fun The appointment with the Architect went great, and afterwards I had to find someone to donate their time to survey the playground for them, so I went to the architect who was going to do it, but couldn't because their insurance wouldn't let them, and he gave me the name of someone in town who were surveyors.

I stopped in and the man said sure..I was so shocked, he didn't know me at all, but he was more than willing to do it..the ONLY surveyor in town and he said yes. God is grea... Fri, 12 Sep 2014 00:17:06 EST Early Doctor's appointment...ok...a DAY early. *L* Ok, I think I need a break...or a full 24 sleep, I got up this morning, fulling believing it was Thursday, got in the car and drove to my Doctor's appointment, arrived, checked in, and they couldn't find my name....................because it's only Wednesday!!! Seriously?????

But they were able to take me today, which is wonderful, because that means I don't have to go into town until tomorrow at noon, I can take a nice long shower, relax, and not be rushed, thank goodness!! What ... Wed, 10 Sep 2014 15:27:53 EST Radio interviews, Drama, Architect Meetings, and Just Getting Away I was interviewed for a news brief which will be run on WCLO radio (our local station) through out the upcoming months, which is great. Hopefully people will hear it and start sending in money to fund the playground. Let's keep our fingers crossed. It sounded good from what my husband said, so I'm happy with it!

I guess the radio interview with the city director, our treasurer, and myself went well, too, so I'm very happy about that.

Trying to ignore my sister who is ... Tue, 9 Sep 2014 21:27:40 EST The Mess You know, our daughter and her fiance go to this small restaurant in Footville and have a breakfast called "The Mess" and it's just a mixture of stuff thrown together. They say it's delicious, I don't know, but it must be.

Anyway, it's kind of like my Labor Day, once I got back from a great weekend.

Walked in the door and turned on my computer....let me back up.....we drove in the driveway and got out, walked around the back of the house and looked at the pool..only to ... Mon, 8 Sep 2014 14:33:08 EST Television, Donations, City Well first of all, the WISC-TV interview went pretty well, as usual I get on the air and start answering questions and there's so much going through my mind that I want to say, I just mess up, but hey..that's what editing is for. At least all the information was given and out there now.

A local mini-mart had one of our donation cans in their station and the manager said he'd tried to call me (no message left), and when he couldn't get ahold of me to pick up the money, he took the ... Thu, 28 Aug 2014 20:47:20 EST TV, Playground, Plans Just looking at the plans I think there's a lot that needs to be changed.

#1-they totally forgot to put the "Little House on LaPrairie" in (a playhouse that was made and donated by a local 4H club, LaPrairie 4H).

#2-much of the individual equipment isn't accessible (ok, people, this IS an integrated playground)

#3-just don't like all the disconnection of it all.

#4-they totally missed the main entry into the playground and now there's a huge sandb... Wed, 27 Aug 2014 13:10:58 EST Busy, busy always Oh my gosh, I was so busy yesterday; had to go to town for a doctor's appointment that I'd not crossed off the calendar (it'd been rescheduled), but I was going in anyways to pick up a gym bag, umbrella, blanket, glass with sealed top, some food snacks to give to a homeless man that came to our church Saturday evening. Dropped them off with our minister to give to him, because I didn't want him to know who they came from, plus we won't be at church Friday/saturday, we'll be out of town at th... Tue, 26 Aug 2014 14:57:49 EST A Different Kind Of Challenge Wow...where do I start.

Our son and nephew both took the ALS challenge last night, they never expected me to find some ice, but I found it, thanks to the bowling alley, who also filled up the bin for us to us.

I went in the pool today, after finding it'd lost nearly 4" of water since yesterday when my son and I filled it up again. I found 2 more holes, on the posts, in the liner. That now makes 7 holes on posts in the liner that's only 3 years old. It's a liner th... Sun, 24 Aug 2014 18:07:20 EST An Anniversary, a Funeral, and a Birthday Sounds like a movie...kind of.

My husband took myself and our son out to a chinese place we've been going since before we got married, and have gone to every year on our anniversary. It's a favorite of mine because I used to go there even as a kid, with my parents, and so it's become a tradition.

I loved it, he's such a wonderful husband; he had no problem figuring out out how to take care of my insulin reactions, when I started having seizures from my epilepsy, he ha... Fri, 22 Aug 2014 12:54:22 EST Meetings, anniversaries, and wedding pics Kind of wonder if I have a touch of the flu, my stomach hurts, just a little, my head has been aching all day, and I can't get rid of it, otherwise I feel find, a little tired. I've had this headache for a couple days, though. Think that's from the humidity though, so maybe not.

I was in bed way early last night, and I always feel too tired after going to bed early, drives me nuts.

No meeting, the architects here aren't able to do the playground because their insuran... Thu, 21 Aug 2014 16:09:50 EST Really, why can't people just call back. You know, when I get a message from someone, i do call them back right away, especially if the message says it's important. I made 2 calls around 1155 today, and I still haven't gotten a call from either one. I'd emailed both people yesterday, without a response from either. This is as bad as the pool people who I continuosly try to email and get promises of a call back but nothing until I end up calling them back, how frustrating.

What is wrong with people anymore, they have no... Wed, 20 Aug 2014 15:44:19 EST Givers and Takers Well, 8 out of the 13 people I challenged have done or are doing the challenge, which means at least $80 donated to ALS, wait, I take that back, 2 are donating the money, so that's $60 for doing the challenge, and $200 for only donating, so a total of $260. YAY!!

I had one real time friend who posted a link to a place of a guy who wrote a column complaining about the IBC (Ice Bucket Challenge); saying instead of doing it they should just donate the money, blah blah blah, all negati... Tue, 19 Aug 2014 14:27:08 EST ALS Ice Bucket Challenge & Weddings Well, this weekend was great, the wedding was wonderful, though it was hot outside, there was not cover to sit under, we got some shade. My mom and sister were up there, but they'd decided to go visit my aunt before heading to the wedding and made the mistake and saying they'd go out to eat with her sometime. My aunt misunderstood and thought they'd said they'd take her out to eat that day, so she got all ready to go, and well...they couldn't turn her down, so they didn't make the wedding, ... Mon, 18 Aug 2014 14:01:19 EST Bird Adventures. Getting things ready to take off for the weekend; a wedding, and just a lot of fun and family. I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Had some excitement with a sparrow in the basement. That happens occassionally, not sure how they get in, but they do, so our son got a fishing net, we cornered it in the basement, well, he did, I stood by the basement stairs to keep it from going to the other side of the basement, and the bird flew around our son and up the stairs where it went into... Thu, 14 Aug 2014 16:03:48 EST Beautiful Day In Wisconsin.. Went to town and picked up the hose for the pool. When I'd looked online it was saying anywhere from $50. to $70. for the hose, so I was expecting some huge price. So I stopped at Menards, and they had nothing close to it. So, with dread, I went to the local pool place, and they had one. They asked if I needed the clamps and I figured, what the heck, I'm spending that much money, may as well.

Total cost? $19.99, I was in SHOCK! I looked at the bill and sure enough, the hose wa... Wed, 13 Aug 2014 13:42:12 EST Nothing much..yet. Had to take the Equinox in to get the part put on the passenger rear window, so that's about all I've done, besides my walk, etc.

It's cool outside, again, this isn't summer, it's fall..well should be. I keep thinking if it's like this now...what's it going to be like when the weather is supposed to be like this? Winter? Snow? Ice? I hope not. I miss the "old summers" so much, I love the warm weather, but well, we adjust, right?

I hope you all have a wonderful day ... Tue, 12 Aug 2014 14:47:59 EST Pony Show Results. Wow..what a wonderful week.

Our son, Scott's birthday was Friday, we were out of town as usual for daughter's pony show, but he went to a Brewer game and worked, so didn't matter. We went out to eat with him on Monday before that day and gave him his gifts (Brewer's Lucroy All Star Jersey and a Subway card (restaurant). I bought him a Pizza Hut cookie for a cake, he loves them. At 6'3 and probably 170#'s, or less, he can eat them without a problem. I brought it home, and when... Tue, 12 Aug 2014 00:28:41 EST Preparations Ok, I'm back, for a short time.

Wow, talk about busy, I signed up (in June) to take part in GISHWHES. I'm not sure if anyone here knows what that is, but it stands for the Greatest Internet Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen, and it's hosted by Misha Collins of Supernatural (the show which is about 2 young men from Wisconsin who hunt supernatural creatures. Great show, I love it, one of my favs on CW tv channel, Tuesday nights). Anyway, it started last Saturday and goes unt... Mon, 4 Aug 2014 14:13:49 EST Preparing for the Fair/Show I've had headaches all day, it's driving me nuts, guess I'll have to take something. I have so much to do today, get another pair of shoes just for the fair, I want some velcro ones, easy to take on and off, etc, and that I don't care if I get them dirty.

From the looks of things it's supposed to rain Wednesday, Thursday, Friday....figures, and be in the upper 70's which would be great...but the rain stinks! What makes it worse is our daughter's fiance complains because we're in ... Fri, 1 Aug 2014 14:07:58 EST Pool Problems..hopefully not Let's see, not much has happened today, went for my walk, our son vacuumed the pool which we discovered didn't have the pad under the liner it was supposed to have. So after calling the pool place last night and inquiring about whether or not they'd put one in (found out about it because when the guy came to see why there were holes in the top part of the liner, and why there were two huge rocks in the bottom, and a wrinkle on the side of the pool, he informed us that there were also small ro... Thu, 31 Jul 2014 16:07:02 EST Eye appointment today.. Went to my eye Doctor today to have the pressure tested in my eyes. Last time it was above what it should have been, indicating glaucoma. Normal is between 7-20 (I think it was), and mine was something like 23 or something last time.

Today mine was 13, YAY 13!!!!! *Dances* It was perfect!! Sure I have to use the drops before bed, but WHO CARES, it's working!!!! I cannot tell you how relieved I was to hear that, even sitting here I have tears in my eyes, what a relief that was. ... Wed, 30 Jul 2014 16:21:11 EST Shoes Well, from what our daughter was told she has a Hiatal Hernia, and they're not going to do anything about it. They took some biopsy's not sure from where, she didn't specify, so now we have to wait until those come back, so more things to worry about, gee thanks. But am going to try to think positive.

My feet have been really hurting lately, got a couple pair of new shoes, which I was liking but with the way my feet hurt (they are the cross training kind the doctor said to get, a... Tue, 29 Jul 2014 12:41:18 EST River, Rain, and more Turkeys. Well, went fishing, caught a redhorse and let it go, that's about it for fishing. It's funny, I got a survey in the mail at the beginning of the month from the DNR wanting me to keep a diary of the amount of times I went fishing and what I caught.

I go fishing one weekend...and catch one redhorse..oh boy, that'll help their survey tremendously..but then on the other hand, they will know that the fishing...
