Been kind of busy with my "new" little one. She's now 10 months old and I'm starting to think about weaning and being able to get a little more serious about exercise again. I've lost the actual baby weight due to nursing and walking, light exercise, but I feel flabby and tired. It's nice to look back at my starting point though and I really know now just how amazing my body really is. 251 Wed, 18 Jun 2014 18:08:51 EST Shamrock Run Pretty happy with myself :-) Finished the 5K in 30:39 and would have been under 30 minutes if I hadn't had to stop to wait on a max train to cross.
This is the first actual "competitive" thing I have done in 20 years, so it's a great feeling that I wasn't even close to last. Probably silly, but I also kept telling myself that I would not be beat by the guys in giant Guinness can suits and I managed to stay just in front of them the whole time. (It must suck to run inside of those thing... Thu, 22 Mar 2012 12:13:32 EST Snowshoeing Went snowshoeing on Monday, great workout with a beautiful view. We are so blessed to be able to enjoy so many great places so close to home. If you want to get out of the gym, you can rent snowshoes in Government Camp and go tromp around the mountain. I highly recommend it. Wed, 4 Jan 2012 11:24:39 EST Progress & Crazy Ideas So I've been quietly plugging away, now down almost 30 pounds.
From size 14 pants down to size 10.
I will have made my original goal by the time of our vacation 104

Looks like now it's time for some more challenging goals!!! I guess I need to think about that. Maybe I should invest in a few training sessions to work on something more specific.

Some girlfriends at work are now trying to recruit me for their Hood to Coast team.
Gulp!!! That woul... Thu, 15 Sep 2011 11:45:18 EST Home from Vacation / things I love about Oregon So I had a nice visit with my husband's family in Indiana. It was great to see everyone and get away from work for a while. Realized a few things that I really missed while I was gone though. For one, I can't believe that there are states that still allow smoking indoors. Blech! I think I might have coughed up half a lung in pursuit of rare (to me) beers at the pubs.

Maybe it's mostly the places that we go out to eat here at home, but it seems I can always find some more healthy ... Tue, 12 Jul 2011 10:42:10 EST Peach Mango Iced Tea So my husband was making fun of me, but I was trying to re-create the Snapple Trop-a-rocka iced tea in decaf form. This is not quite the same but really delicious.

l.asp?recipe=1674274

And the recipe calculator says only 14 calories! 274 Thu, 9 Jun 2011 14:07:58 EST Stuck... Plugging away with work & gym. Can't seem to get losing again, have lost ALMOST 20 lbs now, but seem to be stuck for the last 2 to 3 weeks. Guess I need to mix it up a little more. Maybe we can go for a hike this weekend with the warm weather (FINALLY!!!)

Definitely not complaining because I'm wearing pants 2 sizes smaller and feeling much better in my clothes. Just don't want to go backward - gotta keep it in perspective.

Fri, 3 Jun 2011 13:07:42 EST Bridge to Brews & Brewing, busy week! What a week!
Walked the 8k with my friend Janel in an hour 15 minutes. Not too bad, we split the difference of our goals (me an hour and she 1.5) so we were both happy!
The view from the bridges was amazing, you don't get to look around when you are speeding over at 50 MPH in your car.

Had a busy week at work, and then yesterday our LOLA (Ladies of Lagers & Ales) got
to brew a batch of beer at Luck Lab (one of our local brew pubs). It was great fun, we made a Kolsch... Sun, 24 Apr 2011 19:43:56 EST Thrilled to be making progress! Today a co-worker asked me how much weight I have lost! It feels nice that someone
has noticed. Down one pants size and almost 15 pounds since February.

Gotta keep it up 9 Thu, 14 Apr 2011 00:48:09 EST 509 Stair Steps There are 509 steps to climb to the top of the North tower of the "Dom" Cathedral in Cologne.
We are taking a trip there in the fall and I would like to be able to climb these stairs without
1. Dying at the top & 2. Being so sore the next day that I can't walk.

This is why I need to keep motivated!!!!! Mon, 4 Apr 2011 13:48:29 EST Great Beers for 200 Calories or less This article made me happy!
I would much rather have one of these as a "treat" than chips or candy.

sty-beers-won-t-grow-your-gut

Also my husband and I have decided not more than one weeknight outing each week, and he has been super awesome about going to the gym with me.
So far so good - down 5 pounds. 48 Mon, 21 Mar 2011 10:43:35 EST
