Mon, 5 Jul 2010 21:57:05 EST 3 Weeks Out I broke into the 120's this past week which feels like a huge accomplishment for me! I don't really ever remember being in the 120's as an adult. I think even in high school & college I was in the low 130's. It makes me happy to know that I've stuck with a diet & exercise program long enough to see that happen! <BR> <BR> I had posing practice this am. and that went pretty well. The comp. is approaching fast and I'm not feeling ready at all! A few things happened in the past 2 weeks: <BR> <BR> I tried on competition suits at Nu Parr and ordered one! It's a pretty blue shade, should be done in 2 weeks and then I will have them add lots of sparkly crystals for a few hundred dollars :) <BR> <BR> I crashed on the third day of my NO CARB/ NO FATS day.....I think it was mainly due to the stimulants I was taking (that along with the diet) was just... Mon, 14 Jun 2010 00:08:07 EST 8 Weeks Out I had a pretty good week! My trainer experiemented with my diet a bit towards the end of the week. I did a no carb/very low fat day (so about 200 grams of protein) and not much else. I also took dandalion root & uva ursi caps. A diuretic day. My last two meals on Friday were high carb meals. I do think I looked better this a.m. More muscle definition in my arms and quads. Still obviously so much work to do in the next 8 weeks but I'm so focused and just ready to GO!!!! We are really hammering my abs, legs & glutes, my biggest problem areas. He removed my olive oil from my diet so now I'm down to about 10-12 grams of fat per day. I'm taking in about 50-60 grams of carbs and approx. 165-175 grams of protein per day. The diet is rough! I'm not loving it. Sun, 23 May 2010 23:24:50 EST 11 Weeks Out Well, this was a tough week. My trainer was fired from my gym. This was quite a blow for me mentally. She was a huge support for me. Good news is, I am now working with an incredible trainer, professional bodybuilder Rusty Jeffers. I had my first workout with him yesterday and I am feeling it today. It was really tough. He's digging deeper, we did a lot of pause training, heavier weights for sure and just a hard workout. <BR> <BR> My diet has stayed the same although I will admit some stress... Sat, 8 May 2010 13:52:24 EST 12 Weeks Out I'm feeling good. I'm glad :) Although the scale isn't reflecting a lot of progress since 14 weeks out I'm seeing changes in the mirror. My diet has stayed about the same. I am still on a 3 day on, 1 day off lifting schedule followed by 35 minutes of cardio after my lifting . I have now added a 30 minute early a.m. (empty stomach) running session 6 days/week. My first was yesterday. I felt a little like the out of shape ROCKY. I don't like outdoor running yet. I'm sticking to the program but the scale seems to be stuck between 139-140. A tad frustrating considering my activity level and diet right now. I was hoping to lose about a pound a week at this point but that's not happening. I am having faith that if I stick to my diet & workouts that the results will come. That's how I'm feeling right now. I will be competing in the NPC Arizona Open on July 24, 2010. This has been a dream of mine for at least the past 12 years! Now is the time!
