My roommate is developing other allergies as well. She's known about coconut (she's allergic and I hate that stuff, so we're good), but she's showing signs of gluten intolerance and possibly a reaction to canola oil. Fr... Wed, 22 May 2013 14:37:46 EST Day 8 of Tonsillectomy Recovery Note to self: don't fall back asleep with a mostly full but open bottle of vitamin water in your hands... on your bed....
scabbing is starting to come off, I think. My body is craving protein, big time, but I'm still not sure if my stomach can handle much.

More to come once the adrenaline has worn off.... Fri, 3 May 2013 09:40:02 EST Tonsillectomy Blues Okay, the veggie broth isn't nearly as good as the beef broth (both Trader Joe's concentrate packets), and I'm already getting sick of popsicles and sherbet. I think the soups are next on the agenda... and it's only been since Friday.

Penguin needs more variety.

Of course, I've dropped five pounds since Wednesday (last time I was weighed in, during my pre-op appt, and yes, I ate plenty until I wasn't allowed to Thursday evening). So, this is a good thing, although it's ... Sun, 28 Apr 2013 19:14:21 EST Getting better... So, after all is said and done, the secondary health stuff that showed up while my heart was tachycardic was all due to that vile medication (an old anti-depressant) that the new doc put me on. How many times do I have to explain to doctors that me and AD's do NOT play well together.

I'm back down to just having tachycardia. They goofed on the first holter monitor, so I got a second one. Basically the results come down to me needing to reduce my stress levels badly. At least it's ... Sat, 30 Mar 2013 14:40:40 EST Setbacks... argh!! So, my heart has been racing at over 100 bpm for a resting rate. It was occasional for a while now, as in months, but the last few weeks, it's been constant. And then my breathing... my upper chest and throat constrict and get all tight when I talk or do much. My voice also dies out. I also get lightheaded...

All of this has brought my "getting back in shape" routine to a screeching halt. EKG, bloodwork, Echo all done. A few blood numbers slightly out of range, but nothing that se... Wed, 27 Feb 2013 00:37:10 EST YES!!! Crazy day today. Had "issues" with the sewing machine in class today. Well, I went in a little early to try and finish the tailoring project she gave me. I had a doctor's appt in the middle of class time, so I couldn't stay. But the machine wigged out on me.

Got to my appointment on time, barely. Sleep specialist. I'm going in for my sleep study tomorrow night. So, she also wanted to check my iron in my blood. Disaster of the day #2. Two techs and four needles/bandages later, they... Fri, 1 Feb 2013 00:20:49 EST it will get better So, I have a nasty little sinus infection from the cold and a previous cold from December... yeah... basically driving me nuts. If I climb stairs, which I've gotten used to doing, I practically cough up a lung... so no stairs. My exercise is lacking due to this... but I'll get past it and get back to losing weight and being more active. Sat, 26 Jan 2013 16:34:12 EST this new year has been tough so far Friday I started getting sick... a mild cold, but still. So, between injuries and then the cold which prompted me to curl up in a ball under the covers much of each day of Friday through Monday, my steps and other exercise has lacked quite a bit. Still coughing a lot and sniffly, but getting better... slowly. Back to classes yesterday, and neither of my classes will provide much activity, but my afternoon class will do a little. Theatrical production sewing. I want to get into the habit of go... Wed, 9 Jan 2013 20:04:12 EST stairs and stuff So, I'm having difficulty reaching my fitbit daily goal of 8K steps. I think part of that is my injury to my butt/hip. I fell down some stairs a couple weeks ago, resulting in a very deep bruise on one butt cheek, and thus irritating my IT Band on that leg. Tailbone is okay. I normally do a lot more walking, but I've been slower and less mobile lately from that fall.

I did, however, hit 15 flights of stairs today. WOOHOO!!! Fri, 4 Jan 2013 23:52:17 EST New year... blah... blah... blah... So, Sunday evening, I was having a conversation with a new friend. We talked about weight and girl stuff (two straight girls and three gay guys at one table, the girls gravitate toward girl stuff). I mentioned that I've been trying to lose weight, but even with portions doing better and my intake being less, I'm not losing. So, I decided my splurge this school term would be a Fitbit. I picked up the last one at my local REI (I had member dividends to "cash in" before they expired) and started... Tue, 1 Jan 2013 20:42:45 EST
