I have upped my exercising, I am feeling exhilarated after my workouts, I am being more productive because of it, but the weight is just not coming off.

Sure I have probably changed some fat for some lean muscle. Fri, 2 May 2014 15:21:26 EST A Side of Antibiotics with Your Meal? I choose to eat organically, sustainably raised meats as they are raised in a healthy atmosphere. I get to know the farmer who raises the animals, ask them questions, and visit on occasion to see how things are going. The animals are generally friendly, eat mainly grass (cows are not meant to eat corn), and due to their living conditions are healthy.

I try to avoid convention meat at all cost. The confined animal feeding operations are nothing but thousands of animals crammed ... Wed, 30 Apr 2014 20:25:42 EST Add Back the Fat So you want to lose weight? Well, don't use a low fat diet to try to do it. It will take you twice as long as a low carb diet. Why is this? Because healthy fats are necessary for your body, while fructose and grains in processed foods have a huge list of negative health effects. But you say that you need to prevent heart disease. Sugars - fructose and grains are the cause of this as well. More so than fats.

The key is the type of fats. No trans fats - margarines and vegetab... Wed, 12 Oct 2011 22:34:47 EST Get the Toxic Waste Out of our Water! The stuff that most dentists say is safe and promptly tell you it's good for you is a severe misunderstanding. Flouride in the water is nothing more than toxic waste that needs a good use. Guess what, we get to ingest this whether we like it or not in many areas. Thankfully more and more locations are removing it from the water supply.

First of all, you are ingesting way too much. Tue, 6 Sep 2011 21:57:02 EST Monday 9/5 Last night was a beautiful night. The hubby and I sat outside with a fire going. My poor children had to fend for themselves. Luckily my son has been learning how to do quite a few things so he managed getting dressed in the morning along with cereal and snacks throughout the day. They played well. Daddy rescued them when he got home from work and fed them some "real" food and gave them attention. They were concerned and kept asking me when I was feeling better. They were too cute. The little o... Sun, 4 Sep 2011 13:34:33 EST W3D4 of 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program Okay, I found out today that I was doing the program a bit wrong. For today it was walk 3 minutes and jog 2 minutes = 5 minute cycles. Do this 6 times. 5x6=30. Well, I just noticed today that the total time is 36 minutes. I didn't realize it accounts for warm up and/or cool down periods. Here I have been doing the full time as part of the cycles. So tonight I actually did 7 cycles and walked the remaining one minute. I need to read and pay attention a bit more! The good news is that ... Wed, 31 Aug 2011 21:35:22 EST Tuesday 8/30 Well, today was not what I had hoped. I was stuck at home trying to get some work done with my "sick" daughter. Daycare didn't want her back for 24 hours due to her puking yesterday morning. She was fine the rest of the day, until later I had to change 2 leaky, messy diapers. So decided she must have some tummy bug and she should stay home. The upside to this was that we walked to kindergarten this morning, ate breakfast together, and then walked home again. We also found some time to g... Fri, 26 Aug 2011 07:46:51 EST Day 7 of Stress Busting Challenge and W2D3 of 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program Today was a great day!! Felt great. Took my kids to school and ate breakfast with them. Dropped them off where they needed to go. Went to work. Had a fun day at work chatting with a co-worker and having lunch with the client. Hubby made dinner and cleaned up afterward!!! XOXOXO on that one. Started packing the kids things and getting the youngest ready for bed. Went out for my walk/jog. Got back to help pack some more and listen to my son read a book before bed. I then emailed my s... Thu, 25 Aug 2011 22:25:55 EST Day 6 of Stress Busting Challenge What a great day! My son started kindergarten today. He was so excited to go. My husband and I were fortunate to be able to take him and do all the fun activities set up for the morning. We ate breakfast with him, lined up outside to wait for the bell, visited his classroom, and went to the flag raising ceremony. He then went on to class while the parents had coffee time with the principal. I left for work. My husband picked up my son after the 2.5 hours were over. He said that he had... Wed, 24 Aug 2011 22:29:54 EST Day 5 of Stress Busting Challenge and W2D2 of 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program The past 4-5 days I have not been active on the site due to going up north without internet connection. It was beautiful playing and sitting near the lake. The kids had a ton of fun. Can I just stay there?

I really did not have much stress while I was there. Nothing too demanding of my time except to make sure the kids were being fed on a timely basis and it was relatively healthy. Those that we went with have no concern about eating healthy. They don't even plan lunches beca... Tue, 23 Aug 2011 09:52:54 EST Day 4 of Stress Busting Challenge I am not doing well with this challenge. I am pretty stressed right now. I am super busy at work so I need to go into work and work my hours. No getting out early. I was supposed to pay the bills tonight, but instead I had to work on a menu for Thursday through Sunday for a long weekend away at a cabin with family. I am leaving Wednesday evening. Before then I need to accomplish the following items:

1. Work
2. Pack myself and the kids
3. Pay the bills
4. Grocer... Mon, 15 Aug 2011 23:11:00 EST Day 3 of Stress Busting Challenge Today was more stressful than I was planning. I started off by going to church. One way to destress. However, there was no Sunday school today so both of my kids sat with me during the service. My youngest was not behaving and talking, fussing, and trying to do everything she was not supposed to do.

I did destress a bit this afternoon. I took my oldest to tennis lessons and during this hour and 15 minutes I read a magazine and went for a walk. I also saw my son hit a forward ... Sun, 14 Aug 2011 22:57:52 EST Day 2 of Stress Busting Challenge I ate within my calorie range today for the first time probably all week. I have also eaten healthy. I was starting to get into a bad habit. Good thing that it was only temporary due to the kids being out of town. It was a great break. Back to it now.

I have started having my son learn how to cook. He helped make a frittata for lunch, watermelon whirl for a snack, and quesadillas for dinner. He is just starting kindergarten in a couple of weeks. He is already a pretty good ... Sat, 13 Aug 2011 19:58:52 EST Day 1 of Stress Busting Challenge and W1D3 of 5K Your Way Walk/Jog Program I am so excited to be doing the day 3 of the week 1 for the 5K walk/jog program. Yesterday I just did an ab workout which was good, but without cardio felt like nothing. I realize I need some days off and so I keep to my workout schedule. I am just craving more!

My husband told me he was concerned because I am getting to a point in my workout and and healthy lifestyle that I usually end up getting sick and then everything falls apart. I am then a slack for at least a month or... Fri, 12 Aug 2011 11:43:40 EST Day 28 of 28 Day Bootcamp I am finishing up the Bootcamp Challenge today. I didn't follow it as it was laid out, but I definitely made progress and feel great!

I am itchy again today. There was something in my food that my immune system just does not like.

Somehow I didn't gain weight after eating out again last night. Must have been the workout prior to going out that helped. Hopefully my workout today will help with going out tonight! Thu, 11 Aug 2011 12:58:11 EST Wednesday 8/10 Missed yesterday. It was our 7th year anniversary. We were married in Mexico with about 45 family and friends along for the ride. Everyone that attended still talks about our wedding to this day. Most want to go back. We'll have to plan something for our 10 year anniversary.

We went to a ballgame and ate horrible ballpark food. We then went out with friends afterwards for drinks. Overall, I ended up not too bad in the weight department considering what could have happened. <... Wed, 10 Aug 2011 22:16:47 EST Monday 8/8 I feel itchy today. Something I ate yesterday had an item or two that my body does not like. Hopefully back to normal tomorrow since I ate the right foods and the right amounts today. I had a health consultation with my chiro today. My BMI is 22.9 and based on my stats my body age is 31. I will be turning 32 in the next month so this sounds good to me. I am beginning a GI repair regimen over the next three months. After this three month period we will start to introduce foods that I ha... Mon, 8 Aug 2011 20:18:14 EST Day 27 of 28 Day Bootcamp Yesterday was definitely a splurge day on calories! I will be eating a bit healthier again today, but expect to splurge a little again tonight. I am getting off to a slow start today. I slept in! After getting only 5-6.5 hours of sleep the past 5 days I needed a bit of a catch up. Now I need to use all of my energy and get to it. I have quite a bit of things that I would like to do today before going back to work tomorrow. Sun, 7 Aug 2011 12:17:11 EST Day 26 of 28 Day Bootcamp I need to get my workout in quick before I run out of time. I have a huge to do list for today and it will start in just over an hour. At least the items on the list are fun! I have splurged the past couple of days on my food. The results are in - I am gaining back a couple of pounds. Not surprised. But I am not falling off track, just rewarding myself for making the necessary changes and still making more healthy choices than not. Here's to another great day! Sat, 6 Aug 2011 07:32:28 EST Day 25 of 28 Day Bootcamp Here is to another great day of working out and eating healthy. I am feeling great and will start working out soon. I like to get up and while eating breakfast read some articles, post to the message boards, etc to get motivated. Then it's my turn to kick my own butt. I have been having some great workouts the last 10 days of the bootcamp. Only a few more days of this challenge and then I will look for another challenge to keep me motivated and keep my level of workouts from dragging. G... Fri, 5 Aug 2011 10:20:23 EST Thursday 8/4 I did it! 18.8 lbs gone. I have reached my goal of 135lbs. It took me 10 months to accomplish this. I did it all through lifestyle changes a little at a time. I now workout regularly. I eat a variety of fruits and veggies. I eat "whole" foods - not processed. I drink at least 8 cups of water a day. I participate in the SparkCommunity.

On to a new goal. This one is to maintain my healthy lifestyle and keep my weight between 130 and 135. So yes, if I lose a few more pounds... Thu, 4 Aug 2011 20:32:45 EST Wednesday 8/3 What a great day. I was busy at work which resulted in a quick day there. I was able to get home and have time to myself to read my emails, make myself my healthy foods to eat, eat, pick up flowers for a friend, pick up some hand me down clothes for my daughter, and then go for almost a 30 minute walk. Just me! I feel elated. My husband called for me to pick him up from his late night at work. No problem. I had at least 500 calories remaining so that means it is treat time:) I used th... Wed, 3 Aug 2011 22:16:27 EST Tuesday 8/2 I am starving today! I will try to find some healthy foods to eat if my dinner does not fill me up. I feel like I could eat my entire pantry! I am also craving sugar:( Tue, 2 Aug 2011 18:40:25 EST Monday 8/1 The Jalapeno Pepper Focaccia did me in last night. I gained back a pound plus. I am sure it didn't help that there was oregano in it which my body has an immune reaction to. Overall, it was worth it 18

The kids had a fun day with the grandparents. They made a vacation cake, went swimming, grilling out ham and sweet potatoes, and probably some other mischief that they did not disclose. I would never have guessed that my weekends were so active. Apparently I try to make up for my lack of steps during the week.

Looking forward to trying a few new recipes again today. I am planning on eating Sabudana Khichidi, a salad, banana, dates, and marinated veggie beef kabobs.

Yesterday's meals were pretty good. Sun, 31 Jul 2011 09:50:39 EST Day 23 of 28 Day Bootcamp I made my steps yesterday easily. Now to figure out what to do during the week when I am working!

The kids are going to visit the grandparents tomorrow evening. Hip hip hooray! They are going to have a blast. G & G have a few things awesome things planned, but not too much to really wear the kids out.

Today we will try to stay out of the 90 degree heat, but get out for a little bit this morning and later this evening.

I am going to try the following reci... Sat, 30 Jul 2011 10:06:11 EST Day 22 of 28 Day Bootcamp I am on my final week of the bootcamp challenge. I am within 1.2 pounds of my goal. Wow, in just under a year I have been able to incorporate many healthy eating and lifestyle changes and due to this lost a good 15 pounds. The first four months I was not a member of SparkPeople so not all of the pounds lost are noted on this site.

Today's mantra is to relax and look for the positives and learning experiences in everything. I will try to phrase all sentences in a positive way. ... Fri, 29 Jul 2011 10:18:46 EST Thursday 7/28 Another long day at work. Too much to do and not enough time. I still have a bit more to do tonight. Yippee:(

I am wearing my pedometer again today. This time I started from the moment I woke up. This resulted in about a 1,000 more steps than yesterday. I am only about 3,000 steps from the 6,000 average per day goal. Wow, this is going to be tough. I will be doing quite a few steps on the weekend to get this to average out right.

I cannot wait until the kids are ... Thu, 28 Jul 2011 21:58:22 EST Wednesday 7/27 My day at work was a long one. I didn't finish so now I have some work to do tonight. Not sure how much I will get done. I do need my sleep. It is looking like another long day of work tomorrow.

Work is sponsoring a Step It Up Program. During the months of August, September, and October we need to average 6,000, 7,000, and 8,000 steps per day respectively. I am an auditor and sit pretty much all day. This may be much harder than it originally sounded. Work provided us with ... Wed, 27 Jul 2011 21:16:47 EST Tuesday 7/26 A long day at work, but at least it was productive.

Daughter was extremely tired tonight. I think that she was whining and crying for at least 20 minutes before being able to get her into bed. Uggg.

I made it to my lowest weight since I don't know when. Sometime just after college probably. Moving closer to my target. Tue, 26 Jul 2011 20:20:33 EST Monday 7/25 The good news is that after my morning weigh-in I did not gain a pound from this weekend's eating. Phew! I am feeling much better today after eating healthy.

I had quite the morning at work though. It seemed as if the client's files had somehow been deleted out of the office's network. 3 of us had synced the binder during the previous week on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. This weekend I received a text from a co-worker asking about the file as she could not find it. I thou... Mon, 25 Jul 2011 20:48:28 EST Day 21 of 28 Day Bootcamp I am exhausted today. I have not been following my diet and I can feel it today. Too much sugar - I'm crashing. Definitely back on track tomorrow! I have been working out so at least I have that going for me this weekend. Sun, 24 Jul 2011 17:52:28 EST Day 20 of 28 Day Bootcamp Yesterday I ended up eating more calories than I should have. The butter, sour cream, and ice cream with sprinkles I probably should have passed on. At least I will be working out again this morning. The downside is that I have a wedding shower to attend and I am not sure how many healthy items there will be to nosh on.

I am motivating my sister to get in shape. It is a major affront to her that I am getting healthy and losing some weight on the way. She has this idea that she... Sat, 23 Jul 2011 10:04:12 EST Day 19 of 28 Day Bootcamp Workout day! Yippee. We are going to have a fun day. Workout this morning while it rains, go to the pool in the afternoon, and hopefully go to a fish fry in the evening. I will substitute the fried fish for baked or something else a bit healthier, but still a fun outing. The kids are having fun with the grandparents, which means more free time for me:) Fri, 22 Jul 2011 09:38:21 EST Thursday 7/21 I was really hoping to get out of work earlier than I did today. Oh well, it still worked out that I made it home an hour before I had to pick up the kids. During this hour I finished packing our bags and few other items that needed to be done to leave the house. After a quick dinner we were on the road for a 2.5 hour trip to visit the parents/grandparents. The trip went well with only one stop for gas and a bathroom break. We are all happy to have arrived at our destination. The kids ... Thu, 21 Jul 2011 23:16:03 EST Wednesday 7/20 Oh my hip! I still had the hip pain that worsened throughout the day yesterday. Not sure what caused it, but it is a definite sharp pain when trying to sit/bend over. This morning it was a tiny bit better. I saw my chiropractor this morning and he worked on the area. After that it was better, but I still have some pain. I refreshed my CPR/AED certification today. 2 years ago was the first time I took this class. I was quite surprised that I remembered as much as I did. Thankfully ... Wed, 20 Jul 2011 23:31:35 EST Tuesday 7/19 Another hot day! Blah... Work was work, nothing too great. I did make a great buy tonight. I puchased another set of the Pyrex storage containers. I then hit up my favorite store The Limited and shopped their sale racks. I found a suit coat and a belt on final sale. I also had a coupon so altogether I paid $5.40! Keeping on track with my healthy eating. Tue, 19 Jul 2011 21:22:39 EST Monday 7/18 It is so hot today and it is only supposed to get worse:( Can I please stay in bed? At least I get to work in air conditioning unlike my husband. Nothing too interesting today. I ate healthy and within my calories. I picked up my check for kids clothing I sold at a resale shop. The kids were funny tonight. So yippee - another good day. Mon, 18 Jul 2011 21:39:21 EST Day 18 of 28 Day Bootcamp I succumbed to my cravings of Olive Garden. It is a special treat for me and I couldn't resist. So after one day of going off of my plan (I had one meal for lunch and ate the leftovers for dinner) I am going to eat "right" starting again today. I will not procrastinate. Workout time!
