It's been busy. So, my dad is still mending and I've had to back myself away from that situation. He is a cyclic mess and I'm getting off that ride. My life has always been better when he is at a distance. We went on vacation in the middle of June with our entire group of friends. I was so proud of myself for working out 4 of the 7 days. That has never happened before. Unfortunately, I still gained about 7 lbs. I have since t... Mon, 7 Jul 2014 06:51:41 EST HAAAA!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5705236 So, 2 days after my last blog entry OF COURSE things change. That "good road" quickly changed to WTH Road!! My dad, who just turned 60 yrs old was working and accidentally fell and broke his right hip. OF COURSE, he had to have a total hip replacement, OF COURSE he lives alone, OF COURSE my brother is not available to help most of the time and OF COURSE this is the same guy who I felt abandoned me after he and my mom divorced. Isn't that the way it goes?! So for the next 10 days, I dilig... Wed, 28 May 2014 12:56:57 EST On a good road http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5689488 Right now, things are going well. I'm steadily loosing weight...253.2 this morning. Close to 25 lbs. lost. My goal is 30 lbs. by June 15th. I think that's a fair goal.

Work for me has really picked up. I'm a Realtor in a small town. I've listed 3 properties this week alone. Dinner's have been interesting. I've been really watching my calorie intake. I also have a personal rule that I can't eat after 6 pm. So this is really hard when I'm on a listing presentation and it's ... Wed, 7 May 2014 06:25:25 EST Some Normalcy coming back. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5677841 On April 9th, my mother-in-law went to be with her Heavenly Father and husband for eternity.

So many raw emotions and trying to keep things together. My husband was able to be there with her for her last few days. Something he will never regret. He was able to talk with her and watch as she raised her arms for Heaven and for his dad to take her dancing through the clouds. As depressing as death can be....this was a joyous moment. No more earthly suffering. No more chemo. N... Tue, 22 Apr 2014 11:23:24 EST Focusing http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5663615 I haven't wrote an entry in a few weeks. I've been really trying to focus on me and keeping my eye on the prize.

My mother-in-law is still with us. She is so frail and each week we see/hear subtle differences. Still praying and preparing from 750 miles away.

Last week I did great all week until the weekend. I let my husband and a few friends unknowingly sabotage me. After being frustrated for a day, I decided it was time to get up and go after what it is I really wa... Thu, 3 Apr 2014 15:31:14 EST Decisions http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5645628 I'm trying to decide if I want to make a commitment to volunteering for our local Crisis Pregnancy Center. It's not that I don't believe in what they are doing, I'm just trying to decide if I want this in my life right now. Unfortunately, I get so darn attached and I tend to bring home the problems. I just want so badly to help people and for things to turn out well for them. We had a foster child for 10 months last year and I soaked myself entirely into her situation. Unfortunately, I f... Tue, 11 Mar 2014 19:53:39 EST Today is my 50 day Streak http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5644426 It's also the first weekend starting back to SP that I have not gained weight but I lost!! The scale now reads 257.8 I was so nervous about this past weekend because we had a Girls Night Out on Staurday. We were originally going to go to Tucano's the Brazilian Steak House but thankfully those plans were foiled. We ended up at a dive restaurant, which I can't tell you how much I love dives. Anyway, I checked the menu out online before heading out. I noticed that they had a South African w... Mon, 10 Mar 2014 12:08:44 EST About The Time I Say This..... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5641994 I'm sure once this comes out in black and white I will have probably jinxed my self. But I think I can officially say that I'm out of the 260's. 224 Yesterday the scale read 259.8 and this morning it said 258.6. It kind of worries because we have a girls night planned for tomorrow night. I've already scoped out the restaurants menu online and checked calories. This is one of those times I could easily slip back into old habits. Mentally, I've been strong lately. I'm hopin... Fri, 7 Mar 2014 09:20:09 EST Keep the Faith http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5640737 It was a difficult night sleeping last night. My sweet precious, big baby of a German Shorthaired Pointer hopped into bed next to me last night since daddy is away for a few days. She was dreaming all night long and was practically running up my back all night and doing that goofy, growling/barking thing. 40

I woke up with a pretty good sore throat this morning. I started taking Zicam last night hoping I can keep it at bay. All day I've been religiously taking it.... Wed, 5 Mar 2014 19:29:16 EST Down 1.6 lbs. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5639769 Hmmmm.....so I'm wondering if my theory from last night's blog is correct. I hopped on the scale this morning and I was down 1.6 lbs. If I drop the rest of this week, I would say I hit it right on the nose. 334

The hubs made it to MN around lunch time. I haven't heard from him since he grabbed his rental car. Hoping all is well with his mom and he's not shocked and depressed when he see's her. Tue, 4 Mar 2014 18:32:15 EST Bouncing Back and Forth http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5638987 I've been bouncing back and forth within the same two pounds. I was starting to get a little frustrated and decided last night to sit down and really analyze things. One of the biggest things is that there is a new option on her since I started back in 2008. The fitness tracker and nutrition tracker can talk back and forth. I did not have this option on so I decided to turn it on. I burnt over 2550 calories last week and was having a hard time figuring out why I would not drop. I think ... Mon, 3 Mar 2014 21:33:13 EST And....thought my goal was met http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5632798 I knew I should have just waited until the end of the month. I went up to 263.8 over the weekend. I'm so frustrated because Friday was spent in the car most of the day. The hubs had to make a quick run to Michigan for some business stuff. I counted calories and stayed within my range. On Saturday we sat ALL DAY at the diving sectionals. I again counted calories and ate really well. I just think all that time of not being able to move messed with things.

So today I did my 4... Mon, 24 Feb 2014 19:05:15 EST February Goal Met http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5629619 I met my February goal and passed it by .4 lbs. 261.6 is what I weighed this morning. That makes two months in a row that I have met my goals. I've lost almost 14 lbs. since the second week of January. I am feeling better and have more energy. I noticed a big difference tonight when I was playing volleyball. I was able to move more and got the ball more. I'm not really struggling with any food cravings. I just make sure that I keep nothing bad for me here. I do keep wild blueberries ... Thu, 20 Feb 2014 21:39:53 EST No School Tuesday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5627621 Yep, the weather last night wasn't the greatest. We didn't get as much snow as they called for...thank goodness. But 2" and then blowing snow on top of that made for some nasty country roads today. So the kiddo's were home.

The scale showed another .8 loss. I am .6 lbs. away from my February goal...yippeee! Two months of reaching my goal...I truly don't think I have ever done that before! I will have achieved this months goal more than a week ahead of schedule. Super Bowl ... Three stations and all three have a different forecast. Whatever guys...best job ever to be wrong and guessing on a regular basis. UGH! Sorry if you're a meteorologist...nothing personal.

My weigh in was good this morning. 1.2 lbs. down. 263.2 That was nice to see.

Went to the dentist today to get two fillings. Mon, 17 Feb 2014 19:03:12 EST Crazy Few Days http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5625785 These past few days has been crazy. Valentine's Day I woke up and weighed in. I am bouncing that 1.2 lbs. back and forth. I went up Friday and now I'm back down to 264.6 again. I wasn't able to work out because I received a text from a friend of ours asking me to meet his wife at the hospital. She has been having serious migraines (she's a nurse) and went to get an MRI. She was having a major headache but got her MRI and headed home. Thank goodness they were able to get her results tha... Sun, 16 Feb 2014 19:07:19 EST I figured.......... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5622612 .4 gain on the scale this morning. Between the eating so late, the muscle aches and pains and possibly the potato although it's still too early to tell, I knew I would probably have a gain. Tonight I made sure the kitchen was closed by 6 pm. I can almost bet any time that I eat past 6 pm, I will have a gain. I did work out for about a half an hour and did strength training for my legs. My shoulders and neck didn't allow me to get a good sleep because of the pain when I would move and the... Wed, 12 Feb 2014 21:17:05 EST Warm Sunshine http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5621770 It was again frigid here today but I decided the dogs had a great idea of laying in the sun, so I joined them. I think they were just as excited that I got on their level as I was!! It was so warm and toasty. I laid there for probably 25 min. It was definitely a boost in my morale.

I lost .6 lbs on the scale this morning and did a 1 hr Leslie Sansone video. Tue, 11 Feb 2014 21:34:54 EST Start of Week 5 http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5620773 I dropped .2 pounds from yesterday. It's down...that's good. It is absolutely frigid here again today. The kids had a 2 hr delay. I woke up right at 5 am and felt refreshed and ready to go. I had my coffee and did a 45 min. Leslie Sansone video. It felt great to sweat this morning. I'm amazed at how I'm feeling, other than the shoulder/neck pain I'm having which should be fine after the chiropractor tomorrow. I'm not missing the bread or the pasta. I have substituted spaghetti squash... Mon, 10 Feb 2014 20:51:14 EST Another 4" of the unwelcome white stuff. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5619654 Yep...that's what I said. Another 4". Going to church was treacherous. I'm sitting here wondering if they have even gotten to the counties roads yet. If not...guess what?....No school tomorrow. It amazes me how the city roads are clear. If they would have just brought a plow out, it probably would have melted off this afternoon. The sun was beautiful most of the day.

I watched two movies today. The kids had a 2 hr delay and the hubs was home today. We got out a little and headed to the Fort to run some errands. It was nice to get out. Bitterly cold but nonetheless nice.

I made an awesome soup recipe for supper. It's Tomato Basil Parmesan Soup. I found it on Pinterest and decided to search it on SP. Fri, 7 Feb 2014 18:24:09 EST Snow, snow go away... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5617342 These last few days have been difficult. We got another snow storm. This time 8.5" and I've been stuck here at home with the kids. Not that the kids have been bad, but this weather is just ridiculous! Tonight it's -19 below. I'm just so over this weather! I have managed to drop a pound in the last two days. Down to 268.4 I'm still not at the 266 I was at the morning of the Super Bowl. I'm also having some shoulder and neck pain. Thu, 6 Feb 2014 22:22:33 EST Getting back on track http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5615290 I woke up feeling much better today. I hopped on the scale and I'm down 1.6 lbs. Not exactly what I wanted but at least it's going the right way. I hopped right up on the exercise bike and did 30 min.

Tomorrow is going to be interesting. We are in the middle of another big snow storm. I didn't do as well as I wanted too but it wasn't completely awful either. Compared to what I would have done before, it was really good. Baby steps. I felt like total crap when I woke up this morning. Now remember that I've been doing Paleo along with SP? I can totally tell that I ate "non-Paleo" food last night. My joints ache, especially my hips, hands and neck. I had a terrible headache and neck pain. Of course when I ... I can't wait to hang with all of my friends! Best group of people I know! We are doing a soup and appetizer thing. Sun, 2 Feb 2014 14:35:59 EST The day started okay http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5612424 I thought sleeping in this morning would feel good, but it really didn't. I wish I would have gotten up 6:30 instead of 8:30. My back hurt and I had a headache. The weather is just more than miserable here. We have had 30" of snow in January and then this morning it started out with sleet and then rained the rest of the day. We have ponds everywhere.

Our son had a make up dive meet at noon but the other team canceled and we just had intermurals between the boys and girls. I... Sat, 1 Feb 2014 20:06:34 EST It's Friday http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5611517 I bounced right out of bed this morning. Man, I am loving this sleep thing. Exactly 8 hrs and I feel refreshed. I did 30 minutes on the bike and then had to get ready to head to the Fort to pick my hubs from his work. He drives with our son to work (they work at the same place) and we thought we were going to head for Michigan to pick up Beehives (my husband is in his second season of beekeeping....it's been interesting 100 ). Fri, 31 Jan 2014 20:13:17 EST Today's Recap http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5610621 I had to go back to my motivation board twice today. I read them all out loud so it hammers it home. A friend of mine called and we talked for 2 hrs. on the phone. She moved away a few years ago and hates being there. Her husband hates his job and not all of her kids are doing well either. They are considering trying to find new jobs back here and start over again. After I got off of the phone with her, I just felt so bad for her and their situation. It made me go back to my motivation... The one number that always takes me by the shoulders and shakes the living daylights out of me. 270. I truly don't know why this number effects me like it does. Truthfully, many things are effecting me. I'm watching my mom who is 20 yrs older than I am... age. She is very overweight, scared to try new things, not confident, slow and at times is forgetful. She can also be moody which I would almost bet that's because she is not happy with herself. I know beca... Lately, I have been feeling the pounds creeping up again and decided to hop back on Sparks. Three whole days doing everything exactly right. I feel wonderful. I can feel the change already happening. One thing I did do differently this time is the amount time and intensity of my workouts. I have always just done the minimum. 30 minutes of cardio at a not so intense pace. I have done the weight loss programs where you only do it weekly. I get so nervous and anxious about it that I almost want to throw up. And when I get on that scale, I don't know how to feel about the results whether they are bad or good. So I decided to check in with myself daily. Not a huge fan of it, but I love it in a lil' cocktail occas... Thu, 23 Aug 2012 13:52:02 EST Making sure my buds are happy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5026530 I absolutely love food. I love, love, love how it looks. How it smells and how it feels on the tongue. I'm a fan of desserts like most everyone, but if it doesn't look nice. I'm not gonna waste my time on it. I would rather dig into the meat and potatoes(literally) of the meal. When I was at my highest weight back in 2002 of 297 lbs. I was so used to cooking those bland meals that every mid-west family grew up on with the vegetable oil laced beef and potatoes and let's just slather gra... Wed, 22 Aug 2012 14:38:18 EST Ranting http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4668545 I am going to start this by saying I absolutely hate grocery shopping. Unfortunately, where I live is a rural community and I would have to drive 40 + minutes to go to a descent store where they have everything you are looking for in one store. We have a small Community Market store and of course Walmart. Community Market is great for quick runs and they have very limited items. I had to buy yeast there over Christmas for some rolls I was making and it was $2 more there then at Walmart. ... Mon, 9 Jan 2012 11:44:50 EST Cruddy Cruds still here. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4667934 This weekend wasn't a total bust. The cruddy-cruds are still hanging in there for me and my youngest son. He still has an ear plugged and I've been fighting this upper respiratory stuff. I stayed completely on track food wise; which is a total acheivement for me. In the past, I've always used the fact that I'm not feeling well to "allow" myself to eat more then I should. I did make a homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday which was a huge success with the hubby and my daughter. They wer... Mon, 9 Jan 2012 07:56:25 EST First Small Goal of the Year Achieved http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4661610 So I decided this year that instead of making twenty-five or thirty pounds my goal, i thought it would be less overwhelming and more productive for me to set small five pound goals. This morning I reached the first five pound goal. Not a big celebration, but it's a start to me getting my mind right. Focus is huge. Although we did have some set backs here this week, I stayed on track and focused on the goal. Maybe that was my real small goal this week. Before I've always used the excuse ... Fri, 6 Jan 2012 10:08:15 EST I knew it... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4659020 I spent most of December caring for and trying to prevent the nasty "cruddy-cruds" from entering my house. I may as well by stock in Zicam. I have 3 boxes in the cabinet and pass them out regularly to anyone who has sniffles, coughs or drainage. I too took them when I felt like something might be coming on. My youngest son who is fourteen has always had this problem with telling me exactly what is ailing him. He has had what has been explained to me as "severely painful" ear conditions. ... Thu, 5 Jan 2012 09:13:45 EST A New Year...... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4653639 So, I know it's very pass'e to say "I'll start at the beginning of the New Year." Well, I started in 2008, so I'm saying "I'm tweaking my New Year.". I was thankful to see that 3 lbs are all that I've gained over the Christmas/New Year season as it is usually food fest everywhere we go. I was surprised, overjoyed and relieved that it seemed everyone was feeling the same way. The homes we visited all had healthy choices and it made it so much easier to not overindulge. New Years Eve is us... Tue, 3 Jan 2012 10:00:35 EST Getting through it all http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=4270049 So my oldest child & son is about to graduate high school this Sunday. Talk about a mixture of emotions working on me. There is great pride that you've managed to somehow get this squabbling once little boy turned into a know it all teenager through high school with a diploma without major incident and everyone is still intact and actually get him accepted to a college...a real one, not a fly by night place that offers freshly printed diplomas from the inkjet printer. Then there is this de... Wed, 1 Jun 2011 13:06:56 EST
