Wed, 28 Jan 2009 17:29:23 EST The elusive first pound. http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1708583 I am finally headed in the downward path! A pound isn't much, but mentally it means a lot to me. It means I CAN loose weight, and that my existing plan of eating healthy and exercise is working. Sat, 17 Jan 2009 00:02:47 EST Back to sparks after miscarriage... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1664811 It's been a rough month... I have caved into eating for emotional reasons due to the loss, but I know that I need to get back on track... I am starting out slow- Jan. 1st I did 10 minutes, and this week I am up to 20... By the end of the month I should be back to atleast 40 minutes... Actually the exercise is helping to get my mind off of things, so it is really helping so far. I think it will be a great motivator this month, and I still have atleast 20 pounds to loose... so here I go...

My measurm... Thu, 1 May 2008 13:37:21 EST Sugar Sugar http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1168137 I love it... I dream about it... haha! Tonight I was doing so well at the all you can eat buffet until dessert!!! I indulged in atleast 350 calories just in desserts- this is my biggest struggle for sure. How can you control the sugar cravings? I know it's an addiction- the more I eat the more I want. I did real well cutting them cold turkey before- maybe I will do it again...

76 76 255 115 116 287 Fri, 25 Apr 2008 23:18:23 EST 2000 calorie day- and 5 pounds??? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1145180 OK so I know last Sat. was horrible as far as my eating was concerned, but 5 pounds is crazy. I have lost back 3 pounds of it, but loosing weight I have already lost is getting a little frustrating considering it was only 1 bad day... I guess I will think twice when I think I can allow myself to cheat for a day...

29 Tue, 15 Apr 2008 20:05:54 EST Oh the Brownies... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1125985 So I had a BIG craving for Brownies on Thursday, so I made a batch...and making that batch I ate a whole brownies worth of batter- then one brownie after they cooked... yuck- I felt disgusting! I was in range for calories, but my body was telling me that didn't matter- the overload of fat and sugar was just too much...

The lesson to this was...

Everything in moderation!!! Mon, 7 Apr 2008 13:27:28 EST Retreat next weekend... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1120279 I am looking forward to this retreat that we are going on with our church as sponsers for the children, but I am not exctied about the food choices!!! So I am planning to bring some fruits along so I can snack on those instead of candy and such. Hopefully I won't blow it!!! I should be able to get a brisk walk in since we will be at a camp site...

Planning ahead!!! Woo Hoo! Fri, 4 Apr 2008 17:23:02 EST Why did I eat that? http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1103794 We went out to Subway this afternoon for lunch... I got a tukey 6 inch on Honey Oat, as many veggies as I could pile on... then got milk and apples to go with it. It was tasty- and filled me up pretty well. I was full, but not overly full and DD wasn't eating her bag of Doritos, so I popped them open and indulged in the MSG laden goodies...lol... I counted 7 chips and I was done- not bad, but why was I eating them? About 5 minutes after I gobbled them down my stomach started to churn, and ... Fri, 28 Mar 2008 21:39:03 EST a little reminder to myself: http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1065726 Well there are some important things that I have found out so far when it comes to sticking with it...

if I am craving chocolate: eat dark! If I eat milk chocolate I will eat and eat, but the dark I eat just a little and my craving is gone!!!

exercise as early as possible... get it done early, and I actually go longer and harder!

cook and plan ahead of time... this is of utmost importance because if I don't plan I am tempted to go out for dinner.

m... Mon, 10 Mar 2008 13:52:52 EST A time of testing... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1054444 Well I guess March is not going to be as easy as February was. It started out with an overnight at the ER (for my daughter she is fine)- so that put me off a little. Now I seem to be struggling for energy, and my sleep habits are suffering. I think most of it has to do with my wisdom teeth pain, and lack of sleep because of it.

But I have been pulling through although it's been rough lately- I managed to up my TaeBO time to 35 minutes yesterday!!! Whew!

Wed, 5 Mar 2008 05:32:05 EST I'm teething!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1051078 Yup, that's right... I AM teething! You would think that it would be one of my girls having teething pain, but nope it's me...lol... don't worry it's just my wisdom teeth coming in, but OUCH they hurt... Mon, 3 Mar 2008 17:53:39 EST Emotional Eating http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1047448 I was just wondering this the other day... we were ready to go for a walk and just before we headed out I wanted to eat something... then I realized that I ALWAYS feel like I have to eat before I exercise- I think it dates back to when I was in dance class when I was younger, and dance was always after a rushed dinner...

Yesterday we were at the ER because my daughter had a staph infection, and when we got home I was SO hungry (we were there for 9 hours- no food) and all the stress... Sun, 2 Mar 2008 07:23:11 EST Ahh... a little bit o spring~ http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1045217 Yes it was SO nice today- I think we spent atleast 2 hours outside or more... I know my DH spent about 5.. it was sunny and over 70*!!! I love spring, although it's supposed to get cold again- DEPRESSING, but it won't be long when spring is here to stay... Don't ya just love sunshine? Also I got in a full hour of walking- sure beats being inside, and I always exercise longer when I can be outside!!!! Fri, 29 Feb 2008 21:44:49 EST Eating more to loose weight (while Breastfeeding) http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1043459 I am going to be upping my calories to almost 1800 a day because now that I have been a lot more active I am burning many more calories. My daughter is 8 months old, but she still breastfeeds a lot! So I am going to be temporarily upping the calories to see if that will help, but if I feel overstuffed and/or am not loosing anything, then I will decrease them slowly.... I just don't want to get into starvation mode!!! Well that is the plan- hope it works and doesn't set me back! Fri, 29 Feb 2008 04:53:41 EST Tae Bo Whoa! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1037133 Well it's been about a year since I put in my Tae Bo tape, and at first I thought- this is ok I can do this, but then about halfway into it I started to run in place...lol... and whoa it was getting me sweating and everything!!! I think this will be my challenge for March to myself to master this video tape again, and when I have done that go ahead and buy the Billy Blanks Boot Camp- or another one of his! What a workout!!!! Tue, 26 Feb 2008 14:31:51 EST Salads are awesome! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1026305 Went to Jason's deli tonight, and I piled the veggies from the salad bar up high- got some hummus, and fat free dressing to go with it... it was SOOOO yummy, and SOOO filling. I tracked a total of 22 items from the salad onto my tracker and the total calorie count was only 640 calories- that is including the couple of bites of ice cream I took from what my daughter didn't eat!!!! Thu, 21 Feb 2008 20:21:03 EST getting easier- 19 days of healthy living! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1021101 I truly is getting easier, the more I do, the more I get motivated- and I have learned that if I am feeling discouraged- just hop on to sparkpeople and read all the success stories- if they can do it, so can I! Tue, 19 Feb 2008 19:13:34 EST I feel like a stuffed turkey!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1012655 Since I have been eating healthier- mostly eating fresh fruits and veggies- I am SO FULL all the time! At the end of the day I have actually been coming up short of my calories- so I eat more to make the low end. I guess I never realized how full I could be eating healthy. Sat, 16 Feb 2008 02:28:56 EST dinner and movies... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1007349 We went to Applebee's last night for Valentine's, and went to a movie. I actually was under my calories yesterday when I got home, so I was able to whip up some chocolate strawberries for us, have a banana, and carrot strips with ranch... I love Applebee's!!! Wed, 13 Feb 2008 14:37:13 EST Small Body Frame... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=1003622 I took the body frame test today- found out I have a small body frame for my height (5'1.5")... my wrist measured 5.3" and my elbow measured 2"...lol... not surprising, just means that I will need to loose more in the 50 pound range instead of just stopping at 40 pounds- but I am up for it but first I just have to get loosing the first 10 pounds...lol... here I go!!!! Tue, 12 Feb 2008 03:13:17 EST Energy Energy Energy!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=998637 I am beginning to think that the more energy that you use, the more you get in return. I can't believe the ammount of energy that I am having recently- more than in a long time... There are several things that have contributed to this...

Weight loss (4 pounds so far)
Exercise
Eating Right
Water (I know I have been in a constant state of dehydration before)
Strength training

Wow all this in just 1 week... I am excited to see how much more energy I wil... Sun, 10 Feb 2008 02:48:00 EST Cake tomorrow, and the unknown... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=996691 We are going to a first birthday tomorrow, and of course there will be cake and probably alot of goodies I shouldn't indulge too much in... so I have decided to eat a small peice of the cake, but only a tiny bite of icing since that is where the big calories are and all the trans fat (I should know I have take several cake decorating classes). And to top off the day we are going over to some close friends' house for dinner, and I thought it would be rude to ask what we were having, but I am... Sat, 9 Feb 2008 00:32:03 EST 3 pounds down!!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=992787 Well it worked! I lost 3 pounds this week!!! from 160 to 157! I think it was partly water weight, but none the less I am a loser! Thu, 7 Feb 2008 12:25:07 EST Energy! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=990277 In February of 2006 I found out that I had an underactive thyroid. Energy is hard to come by for those of us that are hypothyroid... in fact it's one of the main symptoms. Since I have been exercising this week I found that have alot more energy!!! I hope this energy will continue! Wed, 6 Feb 2008 12:48:58 EST Good start... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=981192 2 days of sticking with my daily goals!!! They say habits form in 21 days, so if that is true I have 19 days to go.
