I have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, which is the leading cause of female infertility in the US, and it took us nearly a year to get pregnant with my youngest (who is 7 now). I have mixed feelings on this. I love my team-mates and I'm sad to break up the Vipers, but on the other hand, I have been a lousy leader the past couple of weeks. Life has just gotten in the way of too much Sparking. I've completed the challenges and stuck to my calories and exercise, but I just haven't had much time for any of the socialization, encouragement, etc. that I think is a super important aspect of SparkPeople!

My fitness (and nutri... I completed all of the challenges, but I'm feeling like I'm struggling a bit.

As some of you know, my husband and I decided to try to have another baby. I say try because I have PCOS, which affects fertility, so I'm not sure what is going to happen, but anyway, this relates to weight loss because I have altered my calories and exercise to be a little more "conception-friendly."

As far as fitness is concerned, I stopped using my rebounder and bought m... The truth is, I feel super guilty! Starting last Wednesday, I just went crazy. Stress is a major trigger for overeating for me, and stress over my dad (he went in last Thursday for open-heart surgery and has had complications, so he is still in the ICU- 3 hours away- prayers for my dad will be GREATLY appreciated!!), stress over the Holidays, and just getting caught up in the Holidays and all the yummy foods around me was just too much for me... I have been on the lower end of my calorie range every day, and I have done 35-60 minutes of cardio every single day. My goal is to lose another 10 pounds this month, but here it is, Dec. 9th, and I'm only down 1.4 pounds (and even that is iffy because that was the weight one time I stepped on the scale, but the first time I stepped on it this morning showed me up from my Dec. 1st weight!). I have already decided to participate in a Zombie Run 5K next October, but, seeing as I am a complete chicken and am terrified of zombies (seriously, I went to a little haunted house in a person's garage last night and I was so scared- keep in mind that little kids were going in this thing- that one of the monsters broke character to laugh at me!), I want to make sure I can flat out run that thing. (I ... Thu, 1 Nov 2012 19:39:35 EST I did it! My first 5K!! And my time was... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5115718 Yeah, right! I'm going to make you suffer through this entire blog to find that out!

Well, not an official 5K (not yet anyway!), but I signed up for the Trick or Treat Trot virtual 5K, completed the 5K Your Way Walk/Jog training program, and today, I did my first 5K!!

I wasn't sure if I was going to do it today because I was super sore from my crazy busy day yesterday that resulted in about 3.8 million squats, but when I looked at my schedule for the next few days, I re... I enjoy getting slightly bigger meals, so spreading my calories out made it so I never felt like I had enough to eat. Okay, well not never. One night I ate 2 cups of zucchini with my dinner and I definitely felt full... Sat, 27 Oct 2012 23:52:11 EST My last walk/jog before my first 5K on Sunday! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5113753 I completed my 5K Your Way training on Monday (I think!) and due to all sorts of stuff, I didn't go out again until last night. I had a super busy day (kids up and off to school @ 7:30, class @ 9, shopping from 10:30-2:00, studying until I had to pick up my oldest son @ 3:30, homework until dinnertime) and did not want to go out and exercise! By the time all this was done, it was 7pm, already dark, and I still had housework that needed to be done.

But.. I still went out. Grudg... Fri, 26 Oct 2012 13:34:13 EST Asking for prayers for my dad, please!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5111887 Although this isn't weight loss related, I am a stress eater and got some news a little while ago that has me stressed out and, at my dad's request, I am not allowed to talk to anyone about it just yet (so on the complete off chance that someone who knows me in real life stumbles upon this, please don't say anything!).

My dad is 59 years old and has Multiple Sclerosis. He was diagnosed when I was a baby, about 27 years ago. He has had all kinds of issues related to his disease, b... Wed, 24 Oct 2012 23:33:34 EST Day 14: 5K Your Way Training... and almost losing my breakfast (yuck)! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5108444 Just finished with my final official training day of the 5K Your Way walk/jog program! I am planning on repeating the day once this week, then running my first ever 5K this Sunday!

Today started out well. I upped my pace by a decent amount, even though today I was cut down to 2 minutes of walking between every 3 minutes of jogging. My hubby said that I was actually going at the speed that he normally jogs at for the first 4 "laps." Plus, there was an olderish couple out walking... My kids are staying the night with my mom, and hubby and I are having an all day maratho... Sat, 20 Oct 2012 20:24:49 EST Day 13: 5K Your Way Training... Almost there! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5104939 Whew! I just got home from jogging; today was walk 3 minutes, jog 3 minutes for 36 minutes, and I had been dreading the start of week 5 since I first looked at the training schedule, but it wasn't bad! Technically there is just one more training day left until it is time to run a 5K, but I'm putting my 5K off and going to keep training at the next level (walk 2, jog 3) until the 28th.

I think I already said all that in my last training blog, but, once again, I don't really have a... Fri, 19 Oct 2012 12:32:17 EST Day 74 (I think!) and down 30 pounds (inc. picture of what 5-20 lbs of fat looks like)!! http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5101486 Technically 30.2 pounds, but WOO HOO!! That means I get my 30 pound reward: a new haircut this weekend!! I am SO excited (about the 30 pounds gone FOREVER and getting my hair cut)!!

I am trying to find a picture of 30 pounds of fat to post, but I can only seem to find this one...

Ewww! I had to push myself, but I finished! There was a really sweet lady out and asked if we (hubby went with me) were just getting into jogging (I was breathing pretty heavily at this point- LOL), I said yes, that I was on day 12, and she was really encouraging ("That's great!! Keep it up! You're doing a great job!"). I love when people are supportive... especially when they're tiny. ... Tue, 16 Oct 2012 14:57:21 EST Day 11: 5K Your Way Training- I am amazed... http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5098654 by how quickly your body can improve and adapt to things! Last training day (Thursday), I really struggled to get through 27 minutes of walk 2 minutes, jog 2.5 minutes, and by the last lap, I had to REALLY push to keep going. Today, I had to do the same thing, but this time, I felt good about it! I could have done at least 1 more "lap," and I felt good with my jogging the whole time... last time, I would jog for 2 minutes, then the last 30 seconds I really watched the clock, waiting for it...
