1 m&m = 1 football field

Sunday, February 10, 2008

I went to a seminar at my fitness center yesterday on nutrition and fitness. It was being taught by a nutritionist that works with the University of Missouri Extension. she taught us (which most of us already knew) that in order to lose weight you must burn more calories than you consume.

The most interesting thing that she told us was that if you eat just one M&M to burn those calories you would need to walk the distance of one football field (or 100 yards). But who only just eats one? Yeah right! A regular size package is approximately 53 M&Ms, so that would be 53 football fields. A snickers candy bar is the same 53. I think I would rather have the Snickers with all the ooey gooey caramel and peanuts. OMG, Cindy, quit are making yourself hungry. I think I need to go for a walk now.

Just some info I thought I would share!
