The day has finally come and gone... yesterday 2/4 was the day of my sonogram. It wasn't just any sonogram, but I'm in my 18th week so that meant we could find out the sex! I tried most of the day to just relax and tell myself that no matter if it was a girl or boy, we should be ever so thankful for our bundle of joy no matter what... no disappointments.
Luckily we didn't wait long before they called my name at the dr's office. Our appt was at 12:45 and I knew I was early. I was all smiles as I went back to the ultrasound room knowing that I was finally going to see my baby and it wouldn't look like a little shrimp.
The sonographer was quiet and kept going back and forth over my tummy... just watching the baby moving around was enough to keep me silent as well. She pointed out fingers, toes, a nose, lips, and chin... her legs and arms were so clear... it was totally AMAZING! She got a great picture of her rump and her legs were crossed. There wasn't any sign of any "boy parts", but she didn't want to confirm anything since I am still in my 18th week and they consider that too early to be positive. We're all pretty sure it's a girl though from what we saw... and didn't see.
Although I really was hoping for a boy, I was thrilled that we'll be having a little girl... it doesn't matter really, just as long as she's healthy! I'm still going to request an extra sonogram just to be sure though :)
