Black is Slimming

Monday, January 28, 2008

My biggest problem with losing weight is sticking to it. I start off great, but it doesn't take long for me to lose steam. I'm so tired of failure! I know this is something I need to do. When I start out it's very clear what has to be done to succeed but as the days pass my goals get foggy and I can convince myself that I don't look that fat. Boy is that ever the biggest lie I've told myself!

I chose black as my spark page background because that's the only colour I wear these days and that's not an exaggeration. Apparently black is slimming, unfortunately it loses it's effect when that's the only colour anyone sees me in! I want to be able to wear any colour I choose and still feel like I look good in it. When that day comes I'll change my page colour to some bright beautiful colour!

You know, I think we have all had that problem, losing steam that is. I mean, if not, we wouldn't all be on here right. But the way I see it. We are not on a diet. SO we can't fail at it right. We are on a healthy way of living. And yes, it will take some time to get use to it. And we might fall off the wagon every now and then, but you are the only one that can choose to stay off the wagon or jump right back on. I myself, since I have started, have had a really hard time with the exercise. The nutrition part of it I have down almost to a science, I can tell I am changing my thinking about food, and for me, that is more important that the exercise. YES, if I would do more exercise I would lose alot faster, but to me it is important to stick with it. SO I am working one thing at a time. When I know I have this food thing under control, I will them move to the exercise part of it. You might want to sit down and think about yourself, your life and how you handle things. If you are anything like I am, too many changes at once throws you all out of wack. So start slow. Go at a pace that will be comfortable for you and something that will stick with you. I don't mean to do nothing, but make small changes, everyday if it takes it. I mean, you have to start somewhere right.

Good luck with this. I know it is hard, but think of it in a different way... like I said, this is really not a diet, so you really can't fail.
