One of the motivational tools Spark urges us to use is talk to a positive friend or family member at least once a day. Mine are ALL family members and 4 of them have joined SparkPeople with me! My 3 daughters and one daughter-in-law signed right on up! We yack on the phone and online several times a day. I'm trying to lure my sister, but she's busy moving to Mexico right now. She promises to join us later in the year. We discuss recipes, exercises, articles, other motivational sites, emotional highs and lows, aches and pains, success and set backs. We have our own private team where we speak our own language which includes quite a bit of joking around and teasing. Also, my youngest daughter lives near me. Our traditional get togethers will include a new emphasis on great tasting, nutitional, healthy meals. :) Years ago, I belonged to Weight Watchers. I was an Operating Room Supervisor in a large VA hospital in the midwest. Several of the nursing staff also joined Weight Watchers. We instituted a weekly WW "pot luck" with each member assigned to a certain part of the meal. Those lunches were so good and so popular that the non WW staff got jealous! I know our family meals can be just as delicious.
