See blog "The Walk Test Experiment" for intro.
The first road walk is completed.
I walked for exactly 30min around the streets around my home. They are dead flat. I maintained a reasonably good pace and tried to keep my heart rate stable as an indicator of that.
The heart rate was typically at 124bpm, but within three minutes of finishing it rose to 130 and maintained at 130-132 for the last three minutes.
I walked at exactly 15 minutes per mile.
This walk burned 210 calories.
Interestingly, Spark wanted to give me 108 calories for that - just over half!! Take heart if you're walking and finding it difficult to meet Spark's recommended exercise range. You're probably blitzing it!
